It depends on what you mean by spam. In some cases it's ok.. in others it's not. If it's just a bunch of pointless emoticons or nonsense.. then no it's not ok.. If it's just small talk.. much to do about nothing.. it's fine.

right in the middle of a good RP session. If those people place the spam in that certain thread then the other players would hopefully be less distracted
