I have recently realised somethign that concerns me. While I joined NS and normally log on from home. I have also logged on at public locations and at school, the latter being my concern. I invited a number of frineds to also join the site from my school. Thay are also mainly loggin on at home, and only occasionally from school. They have joined the United Nations. Is there any risk it could be mistaken that I am abusing the UN?

Especially as the School uses one internet network.

There's probably some sort of risk...that's why I always log on from school via a non-UN puppet.

The exact degree depends (I believe) on whether your school has a .edu IP address, and a mod will be needed for that information.

Considering the way our system works, it's possible, though not likely.

We'll keep you in mind.

I have heard of an instance where just such a problem occured. I would check with the administrator at your school to see if your school uses the same IP address for all computers contacting the internet. Sorry I forget the exact terminology, but essentially some schools route all internet access through a server and the server has one IP for all computers on the network.

I'm sure now that you have explained your situation that the mods will take you and your 'situation' into consideration.

i sometimes use my un nation at college too, and i have no idea how our system works...
should i get worried?

Well worried is not the term I would use. But you are someone (because of your activity and residence in regions that are multi checked) who should probably contact your network administrator to check whether it uses NAT. I would. More Universities are moving to NAT, and it may save you some pain later.

umm..
that means every computer has a different ip, right?
but still, if someone uses the same computer, doesn't that mean it still has the same ip?
we do have to log in our own user account, i don't know if that makes a difference..
