Why have I been banned?!

25-10-2003, 11:23
Why was Armed Anarchists banned from the U.N.? I only have 1 nation in the U.N. and yet I was banned because apparently I have more than one. Can someone explain this to me?

[code:1:3d7c178bb5]4 hours ago: The Borderlands of The Empires Backyard was ejected from the UN for rule violations.
4 hours ago: The Free Land of Armed Anarchists was ejected from the UN for rule violations.
4 hours ago: The Empire of Drone Armies was ejected from the UN for rule violations.
4 hours ago: The Incorporated States of The Great Wastelands was ejected from the UN for rule violations. [/code:1:3d7c178bb5]

Are you sure you have no connection with these guys whatsoever? Are those friends, family or schoolstudents?
They were ejected together with you, do you play on a public Internetcafé maybe?

Drone Armies is my boss at work, but we use different computers, plus we're on different shifts.

There you have it. Your IP adresses are the same, thus you are in violation of NationStates rules. I'm pretty sure the others are co-workers of you too. Sorry, there is not much the moderators can do if IP adresses are similar. Don't you guys have work to do anyway? :?

Ha ha ha! Work? Nope. Just kidding. We get a decent break. Anyway, I think (maybe I'm deleting myself here) the mods should ease up on the rules a bit, or at least for those who are under certain circumstances.

I agree with you on that part. Maybe we can have 5 UN members. I play this game together with my sister and sometimes my father joins. It really sux to share my UN member with them. It makes things very bad here at the computer sometimes. My sister has other objectives than me, and I hate to see that she uses my nation Corinthe for invading or crashing regions. I have a peaceful reputation to maintain.
Btw, tell me honestly. Were you part of the invasion of your region, or not?

Corinthe, we know that you are just trying to be helpful, but the way that you have recently been answering questions seems to convey to other players that you are a mod. We would appreciate it if you would refrain from answering questions to which you do not have the ability to answer fully, as in this case. We have access to information that you do not, and are thusly more able to answer a players submitted question. Thanks.

Armed Anarchists, I am looking into your request. Give me a few minutes please.

Okay, someone had to say that, I guess. I seem to overstep my boundaries frequently. I withdraw myself from answering player's (as myself) question any further. Would be better if mods were a bit faster in answering on certain hours of the day though, but than again, even that is not my business.

Armed Anarchists, both myself and Neut looked into your case. We were unable to verify your claims. I am not implying that you are lying, however, based on the information we have collected, we are inclined to leave the ban in place. If you wish to be in the UN, I suggest only logging in to your UN nation at home, as it will help to avoid this problem in the future.

Simply because the Mods are not given time to respond does not mean that we're not responding fast enough - this is only a game, Corinthe, not life.

It has become overly frequent to see players attempting to resolve issues which only the Mods can resolve. No average player knows why any other particular nation was deleted or ejected from the UN, and only a Mod can answer with any definitive response. When other players begin answering in place of the Mods, confusion abounds as those answering are not always correct or are making general assumptions that dont ask the truly pertinent question(s) for each situation.

Just remember, this is a game. Waiting a few hours/a day for a response is not going to cause anything that cant be undone. Patience is, after all, a virtue - far too often ignored in this day and age, but a virtue nonetheless.
