I would assume something fast for easy deleting and locking. Just curious.

At university, I use a LAN on a T1 line, at home, a 56K modem which is several times slower. I'm still pretty fast though. :)

And I can still post while you are busy locking :P
Don't you mods have an aditional function, so you can post and lock at the same time, like in invision?

There are two ways of locking threads, one is by using the little Lock image at the bottom of the thread, and the other is by going into the moderation control panel (EXTREMELY handy) by looking down at the bottom where you can see 'You can post in this forum, you can edit your posts' etc. etc.

Not if you use the moderation panel

You just click the checkboxes next to the threads you want to lock, then do a mass lock :P

I could have sworn phpBB had a "Lock this topic" tickbox...

Oh well, it must have been a mod I added to mine long time ago in Bethlehem...

Yup. Then you check the little box next to all the topics and select an option from the list (delete, lock, move etc)

Ya, I would have to guess that was a rough night in general then because you dont get to lock posts like that anywhere else.

*coughs*

You can moderate this forum (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/modcp.php?f=9&start=0).

NOTE: This will only work for the moderators.

It was a rough night indeed. The thing about mass-locking threads is that I locked one in error. I had to spend time finding it, reviewing it, unlocking it and informing the author that I had indeed locked it in error, etc. So I prefer to do it manually. That's no problem.
