For a Game Mod:
Could you ever delete a long time friend for spam or flame or any other rule violation, assuming you know this person in Real life?

Thats why there are multiple game mods. The best thing to do in that kind of situation would be to defer judgement to someone who doesn't know the person as well.

They're probably gonna answer the same way ... but anyway.

Sorry for yelling.

There is another thread about what happens when a newbie asks a question. I answered with what happens when a newbie answers a question. Saying that Naleth's answer didn't suffice, was a bit rude.
I agree with Naleth; Every rightminded mod will let the case to another mod if a friend is involved.

I know I would most likely talk to my friend in RL first, and if s/he doesnt shape up, then I am left no choice - friend or not, rules are rules and it's my job to make sure the rules are being adhered to.

That was cold.

Thanks Neut.

I agree, unless of course the mod and the firend fell out over what was happening.

I am not a Game Mod, but if it came to it, I would have few problems.

And why not make a poll at the top?

No offense, but why would you have a few problems?

I suppose it would be kind of weird, seeing a friend's name darken on your instructions. But there would definitely be no heisitation, only perhaps a sad feeling afterwards.

bah. can't see the stats. can't vote... would a mod be kind enough to tell us what the numbers are? (probably obvious but am still curious.)

There is a view results (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=82323&postdays=0&postorder=asc&vote=viewresult) button at the bottom of the poll (always) ;)

And the few friends they do have become mods as well, right? :D

Well, I voted that I would defer the case to another mod. If the offense was relatively minor and/or out of ignorance rather than intent to break the rules, I'd try to talk to my friend to set them straight before anybody got DEAT.

If it was something like, say, goatse, friend or not, they'd be DEAT and I'd be kicking their ass in real life!
