While of course it is hateful and racist.. it's not against the rules. The best advice we can give to those highly offended by such material is to ignore it. It's just like the issue that comes up for our nations about free speech.. "Nazi's plan a rally" I know I always pick the one that allows them to have their rally no matter how stupid what they have to say is.. it's the price we pay for freedom of speech.

Simple, we consider each case on its own merits. Politics is complex, and demands nothing less. We are neither for nor against anything. Sometimes a player is judged to have crossed the line, sometimes not. Where the line lies is a matter of common sense.

As for freedom of speech, please re-read the FAQ:

You do have a certain amount of free speech here. Of course ultimately it's up to [violet] and the creator of the game to decide what they will tolerate and not tolerate on this site. It is after all a personal site. We are but guests... to say there is no free speech on this site would not be exactly accurate. However, your freedom of speech on this site is subject to being over ruled by the person who owns this site and or the admin of this site. Which if you think about it.. makes sense. It's their site therefore it's their rules. Like it or not! The creator and admins do try to be as fair and impartial as possible. However, at the end of the day.. it is their site. I think we should in some ways just be grateful to have a really cool site like this free of charge to have fun on. So you have to live with a few rules. Get over it!

People roleplay nations that are far left and far right. People discuss these viewpoints, both in character (roleplaying) and out of character (general discussion). I have yet to see anyone use Nationstates to plot terrorist attacks. If you can supply evidence to this effect, I can assure you that actions would be taken.

Well you see, they can't actually say anytihng besides that they wish the US would buzz off, or possibly that they hate Americans and wish they would die (although that might cross the line, depending on context and history ... not sure). Those are views that they are entitled to have, and thats all there is to it. Allowing them to say these things isn't aiding them (I'd like to know how you think it is).

However, most of the things you seem to think go on here would cross the line and the people who did them would would be dealt with (probably ... not a mod and we're talking bout a somewhat generic situation here, so I can't say for sure).

Stormfront is a website that is apparently based in the United States, complete with telephone numbers and an address. If Stormfront were considered a terrorist organization, I'm pretty sure the government would have done something by now.

To the best of our knowledge, no real-life terrorist organizations are using the NationStates.net website to plan terrorist attacks. Unless you have direct evidence to the contrary, we're not going to waste time over it.

Yes, telegrams have been read. However, this was done because we had reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing, and our suspicions were verified.

People roleplay nations that are far left and far right. People discuss these viewpoints, both in character (roleplaying) and out of character (general discussion). I have yet to see anyone use Nationstates to plot terrorist attacks. If you can supply evidence to this effect, I can assure you that actions would be taken.

Thank you, I think this does clear the issue up nicely (tho how the heck does it continue for 3 more pages?). The post was hateful, tho only offensive only vaguely. Sort of like saying I want bad people to get smacked tomorrow. Not specific enough to be considered a threat to you-know-who, but not nice all the same.
