Maybe you missed where I stated that the nation name was a little too far across the line?
13-10-2003, 13:30

13-10-2003, 13:33

We are not "being mean". Your nation name crossed the line, that is all.

Why would it matter what email address someone has? It's not public information anyway.

there were other indicators...anyway, the title crossed the line.
13-10-2003, 20:31
bleh ok but it wasnt meant to be a bad title

Or you just took a dislike to him?

No, the title was clearly innappriate.

Oh please.

I'm interpreting that with 'indicators' Neut meant indicators of (perceived) intent. Basically, names are judged (when needed) in context by looking at the entire nation: flag, currency, motto, email, maybe even the name of the region it decided to reside in, essentially all information available.

If I understood what happened wrong, please do correct me.

Oh I'm sorry, now I'm getting confused.
On MOD is advocating the use of free speech, which includes free expression, and then we have another two MODS saying the exact opposite.
Is there ANY coherence in the MOD ranks?
Or just down to the individual, which makes a mockery of the whole point of a MOD in the first place.

Speaking as a player, sometimes the customisable fields of a nation give an insight into the character, attitude and intentions of the player behind it. For example, a hypothetical nation called Porn Spammer with the national animal, currency and motto given as "m3h", having turned up and spammed a thread, is unlikely to become a valuable contributor to the forums. Thus discussion and rehabilitation thereof is pointless. It is best to allow the player the opportunity to come up with something better.

And this is applied with an even hand?

Of course. That goes without saying.

I'm having a little trouble understand something, is this griefer for or against free speech?

As far as I can tell he just has a general malice for the mods.

but i love the mods

Okay, I'll keep it simple.

Using the all the evidence at hand, it was decided that the name of the nation crossed the line, therefore it was deleted.

The replacement name was just a slight varient on said name, and likewise deleted.

This isn't a case of Mods on the rampage, it was simply felt that the name wasn't appropriate. 'What is this' is welcome to continue to play, as long as (s)he doesn't break any rules, just like every other player on this game.
