Ok, I am really tired of this shit now. It has been nearly three weeks now and I have been spammed by a colletion of punk-ass kids the entire time. What have I done to get this? Its one thing to get a TG or two from someone saying that you suck. But five max length TGs? What the hell is wrong with people? What have I done to deserve this (rhetorical question) Why can't these people just get a life? Does this ever happen to anyone else? Can a Mod please do something about this?I'm just tired of having to deal with this shit, it's really starting to annoy me. {rant rant rant rant} Still not feeling better..........sigh.

I have reported it Cog, in fact, I think I'm averaging about 3 per week now. I'm literally spamming the Getting Help (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) page. I'm just venting right now, because dealing with the crap that comes my way is a criminal waste of time.

And college is KICKINGING MY ASS, thank-you-very-much. *mutters* must get better study habits, must get better study habits, must get better......lets play NS!

What was the spam?

Personally my pet peeve on NS is when the same question gets asked n the Tech/Mod forums about twice a nanosecond. :evil:

It was suprising actually. The first spamer was a couple month old player whom I have seen on the forums before but never interacted with. And suddenly one day I open up my TG box, and lo and behold, a buttload of extremely offensive cut 'n paste text insults......over and over and over and........maxed out three TGs worth of insults. The other guy was only a few weeks old(?) and sent the basic non-swear version of you suck. 5 maxed out TGs worth. I don't see why anyone would do this, its pointless.......

You should check out my region, random copycats come in all the time to fart on the message board. I simply don't get it.

I don't understand where this view that all the mods are uberliberalnazis came from.

I don't know where anyone gets any of those ideas from. The only one to regularly discuss their personal politics is Stephistan. Maybe it is just another case of Liberal being blindly misused as an insult.

Although I would in all honesty to be able to post announcements and stickies, and get rid of pointless spam, there are several reasons why I will likely not become a mod(at least not wthin the forseeable future):

1. I am a July nation (self explianing).

2. I agree with the mods on to much. It would make sense to the mods to appoint someone with different views from them on moderation issues.

3. There are dozens of better candidates. There are a plethora of people on the forums who are more helpful than I am.

4. I have a bad temper. The only bad tempered mod, Neutered Sputniks, constantly takes flak for it.

5. I ask dumb questions on the tech and mod forums (self explaining)

6. When I was a n00b I godmodded an RP thread (albeit with good intentions), and posted about a page and one half of spam on "1,ooo,ooo,ooo posts."

7. I am politically active. Look at the flak that Stephestan is taking.

8. I have recieved from Hack what I think is an official warning for hijacking a Tech thread.

9. What I usually do does not require mod powers. Since I can and do issue modalerts, the only things that I would be able to do that would be really useful is issue announcements, and having to clear it negates that effect.

10. I am not much of an RPer, nor an expert on technical things(that is forum errors and the like).

11. I am a bad typist and my grammer is awful (you'e probaby noticed how few people take Melkor seriously as a mod).

12. I am constantly pestering the mods.

Therefore, I am basically as useful to the mods as I am, whereas say Sircocco or Automagfreek, would be much more useful to them as a mod.

Although I am not saying that I would not like to be a mod, nor that I would turn down the position ifoffered or abuse the power, but I would not be particuarly more useful, and therefore the mods undoubtably realize that it would be better to promote somebody better qualified for the job, and who would be more effecient, better known and liked, and more experienced.

If it's any consolation, you're not the only one. Copycats too. When I appear as #1 in the world, I average about one "com moov to my regun!!1" telegram every 30-45 minutes. What's worst are the military-related breakdowns. It seems every single n00b in the game decides to declare war on me when that happens. My telegram box literally gets filled up and overflows every hour or two if I don't log on.

Guess that's the price of economic and cultural supremacy :wink:

Actually, no. Socialism (National Socialist, Nazi) is a form of collectivism. Just because a regime is brutal and repressive doesn't make it conservative.

Therefore, I am basically as useful to the mods as I am, whereas say Sircocco or Automagfreek, would be much more useful to them as a mod.


Thanks, I would like to be a mod, but I'm not counting on it. 8)
