posted a suggestion to pablo.

Pablo, as the starter of the thread, he has the right to request a limited discussion. It would be courtieous if you abided by his requests.

which is true, and I am respecting it however, I do not take this as a warning

Should I?

While attempting to carry on an invite-only discussion with another player (which, due to reasons stated in the first post, I made available for perusal by other players), the thread has been repeatedly interrupted by Pablo the Squirrel. After numerous attempts, public and private, to encourage Pablo to contribute to the discussion in the alternate manner I provided just for this circumstance, he continually ignores me.

This is little more than spam, and as at least two of the posts seem to have been made exclusively to annoy me, griefing.

http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=76715

His first post:

I am both tagging and bumping this thread because I do believe I will find enlightenment from a discussion between a Discover magazine reader and a ...ummm... well... and Parratoga...

And the second:

OOOOMMMMM OOOOMMMM I am approaching enlightenment... Please push me over the edge

As I said, I have made several attempts to get him to use the appropriate channels if he has something to contribute. I will note that to whit, he has had only one appropriate, on-topic post out of the five he has made thus far in the thread.

but anyway, you said anybody could bump the thread, which is what I was doing ...

This is an official statement (not an official warning): Raem started the thread and may dictate who may or may not participate in it.

Karmabaijan decided to suggest that you follow the rules. It's not an official warning, but could easily be turned into an official warning.

I don't think that you want to have an official warning issued against you.

but anyway, you said anybody could bump the thread, which is what I was doing ...

[formal and calm]
Your first post in that thread was a bump. The others were not bumps.

Raem has asked that anyone else who wants to contribute to the discussion should telegram him. Please respect that request.

Thank you.

You know what...for once in this game I am really annoyed and disheartened...look at you...talking in condescending tones to Pablo...one of the most refreshing and funny nations to have graced these boards in a very long time...while hate groups plough their filth and hatred into the general...you are more concerned about the activities of a harmless squirrel...It really does beggar belief...Get you priorities right!

This forum is getting less and less fun thanks to your heavy handed meddling...sort it out

That's quite true.

Countless times I have seen nations that are funny and not hateful be deleted for silly reasons, whilst those that spread out hatred (whilst claiming it's free speech etc) continue to do it freely and without punishment.

Is this fair?

Nope. But there's bugger all we can do about it.

This is another case of how forgetting to put in the proper smileys can lead to misinterpretations. I apologize if I sounded condescending, that wasn't my intent. I'll go put in the proper smileys now. :?

However, my original point still stands: Thread authors may dictate who may or may not participate.

If you have complaints about a particular thread, label it with a mod/alert.

By the way, I personally like the squirrel, too, but rules are rules and I have to enforce them wherever I see problems. :?

I will be careful from now on to avoid all threads in which you participate, Raem. Wouldn't want to offend, you know.

I was only making a point about how ridiculous it was to carry on private discussions on a public forum in general. The argument was that this was to avoid spamming, flaming, flamebait and trolling.. etc.. all of which are against the rules to begin with. So begs the question, if some one is going to break the rules any way what on earth is the point of making an "invite only" thread in of all places general. Do you really think they are going to respect that request if they intended on spamming or flaming or any other rule violations any way? Didn't make sense. I do understand invite only RP's in NS and II. That makes sense.. in General it made no sense!

Well, she makes the better point, by saing this was a sarcastic thread in intent. I would argue, though, that even if she was serious, so what? Would it be odd? Sure. But so what if there are certain people she wants to reply to the thread, she isn;t going to clamp the mod down on you and not allow you to post. It would be up for her to get used to those who woud post on it anyway.

That said, this posts is rather unimportant (well, perhaps more so then usual) as she did say the post was a joke to make a point.

Is, you know, not posting so hard? Just, well, don't click that little post button. Just because its labeled General dosen't mean everyone has to give their two cents.
