Dark Apes

Why is this brainless idiot allowed to keep spamming the General Forum with paste jobs from Stormfront and other such places? He is yet to produce even one word of his own work.

The mods'll warn him eventually.

Why don't you just invade and crush him?

(Yes I know he won't respond, otherwise I'd have done it to what is puportedly his other nation, (Spitting Monkey Brains))

I can do some very simple hacking, but nothing that anybody who takes fifteen minutes to look at things can not do.

The vast majority of these appear to be simple cut-and-paste jobs. Dark Apes almost never returns to defend or elaborate on his posts. Almost all of them could be classified as "flame-bait" or "trolling."

I would also suggest that the mods check to see if Dark Apes is the same person as SingleTerry, who posted the same sort of things in the same flame-and-run style (including a post asserting that rape is always the woman's fault (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74266)).

I'm not telling you to delete him or not. I'm just giving you the links, so that you can draw your own conclusions.

It's his point of view.

My understanding of the rules is that you are not allowed to post things with the sole purpose of getting people angry ("trolling"/"flame-baiting"). Generally, if people are interested in starting a discussion instead of flame-baiting, they will explain or defend their posts. Dark Apes does not do this. He starts threads (usually with someone else's cut-and-pasted words instead of his own) and lets the chaos ensue, never returning to defend them. The difference between him and, say, Aryan Tribes, who also cut-and-pastes a lot of offensive stuff, is that Tribes will discuss what he posts.

Thus, I think that there's a pretty good case that Dark Apes is trolling, but I'll leave it up to the mods to decide what to do.

What is wrong with expressing one's disapproval of homosexuality or the left?

Okay, while I didn't go through every thread you've posted, I have noticed a theme. While the posts are certainly charged, I wouldn't consider them flaming or flame-bait.

I might consider them spam, however. If you notice, he never responds. This is classic hit-and-run.

I was describing the content of the posts so the mods could tell them apart (as opposed to dumping a bunch of unlabelled links for the mods to sort out). My descriptions weren't intended to explain fully why the posts were offensive. By the way, see my post above for what I think is the distinction between trolling and expressing one's opinion.

With the exception of the Beeker post, I don't think any of them are flames--at least against individuals on the forum. We might, however, have a different understanding of what constitutes flame-bait. I'd argue that if you're posting inflammatory stuff, and not responding, your goal is probably nothing more than to make people mad (i.e. to attract flames).

I haven't run across this usage of the term "spam" before, spam implies many copies to me. But as there is no limit on the volume of cut-and-paste posts, I could see them being as damaging to the forum as spam. As well, there is possible copyright infringement, and hit-and-run is very rude.

I would agree with the "spam" label.

Although the topics do not repeat themselves word for word, they repeat themselves in theme. How many liberal / black / gay / woman bashing threads do we need? Satan's activities were certainly ruled to be spam, even though each poll was very different, and not all were offensive as such.

Also, since these are cut and paste jobs without own commentary or response to feedback, they can be called spam on that measure. There is certainly no attempt to add anything to any possible debate.

I think that this pattern of behaviour should be discouraged in future, and I am talking generally, not just in the case of Dark Apes.
