I really hate bitching in the moderation forum, but come on!

Why was this locked?

Note, please, that if a mod disagreed with the idea, or thought it irrelevent, they could have said so on the thread, rather than locking it.

I think that every thread connected to Beeker's deletion has been declared a free-fire zone. I counted close to 20 yesterday. This was probably just collateral damage.

The thread didn't have anything to do with Beeker's deletion. It was an idea I'd had weeks ago, and I stated that in the original post.

If what TG says is the case, could this please be unlocked.

You can see how a Mod might have got the other idea in the heat of the moment. The timing made it vulnerable.

Well I'm not gonna jump to any conclusions, but obviously if thats true its blatently out of line.

I didn't lock it.. however after reading it.. I unlocked it. It's in General and I don't understand why it was locked. I suppose who ever did lock it will say why they did if there was a good reason that I'm missing.

Thanks Steph, you're always the voice of reason

Just a suggestion: There have been many threads locked without mod comment lately. How about at least adding a comment about why the thread was locked whenever you do so? That way we at least know for sure what the problem was, instead of it being all Kafkaesque.

I think that sounds fair enough. I can only speak for myself here, but some times I lock threads without giving a reason because then some one else just starts another new topic to argue with my reasoning..lol However, I don't think it's an unreasonable request :)

Well, I do know that plans such as they one have been rehased over and overm and a workable plan was never worked out. Bottom line, people could easilt accuse any court of the same things they accuse mods of. The mods may tire of hearing about it. Thats my guess, anyway.

I will not speak on the behalf of other moderators, however, whenever I take any official action, lock, move, or edit, I always clearly label the action as my own.

Yes, Cog, you've been extremely good about documenting your actions. I'd like to see all of the other mods follow your example.

Actually Neut and Scolo already do.

I think that Karma does as well, but I've only seen one Karma action.
