Reinstatement of Beeker
---Post deleted by NationStates Moderators---
I'm not bashing the mods...and I AM BEEKER...so what are you going on about...??
...and if you don't like the game...then leave :?

I never saw you post anything that wasn't trolling, or flaming, or just intentionally irritating.
Then you obviously have never been on the general...for if that was the case...surely I would be alot less popular...hmmm :?

I was thinking of doing a study into how General evolved. Like, does it have a giant vacuum that sucks in stupid people and keeps them there, or does it merely degrade the intelligence of people who regularly read it by giving them a channel for insecurities and attempts to be popular - a channel that they don't really need, but that they cling to like rats cling to a piece of driftwood.
It's a fascinating theory, really. I mean, look at Parratoga. She's a self-confessed Nazi, but because she's posted a pretty blonde picture and said it's her, people don't really spend much time attacking her. If she was a fat guy with a moustache, she'd be flamed constantly.
And Gothicum. His name pretty much says it all. The only mystery is as to why he's on Nationstates at all as opposed to some other forum.
Then there's all the cyber threads. Real women don't play at the internet! They are all men! Cease your homoerotic imaginings and reacquaint yourself with real women! Or at least all get IRC or AOL or something and go there. The real Nationstates forums have an IRC channel, why don't you guys go there and make your own channel for hardcore cyb0r. You could call it "#virginsunite" or something.
And what's with all these "look at how unbelievably powerful and yet vaguely tragic my online persona character" things? I mean, don't people play normal characters? Admittedly condemning roleplay in General is somewhat like condemning the fitting of the shower handles in Auschwitz, but really :/ Drizzt and Anne Rice's vampire books are so ten years ago. Get with the times!
Er anyway ... non-flame summary of the point ... why should the opinions of a small, vocal part of one forum determine who the rules of the site apply to?

Raem,
We are not bashing the mods. Or at least, I'm not. You're making unfair generalizations about the people involved in these discussions... ever think that maybe some of us are simply asking the mods for further explaination for actions that we don't see an obvious reason for? I mean, I can't speak for everyone, but I for one am not here 24/7.
A lot of people getting into these arguments would drop it and leave if they were provided with just one good link to the action that broke the rule. As it is, I had to dig through 7 pages of General to find what Beeker was deleted for. And for once (yes, Neut, you can faint now), I'm agreeing with the mod decision. Rules are rules, and you only get so many chances. But when the action is against a popular player, the mods do have an implied obligation to provide a link or quote justifying the deletion. If only to prevent what has happened here--the proliferation of spam threads dedicated to little more than trying to find out what happened.

Rubbish. Tosh and pfiddle. They have no obligation, popular or unpopular. Even if Joe September 29th nation was deleted 3 minutes after creation, they have precisely the same obligation to discuss him as they do a spammer from General, no matter how many friends he has. Rules apply equally, or at least they should.
And the proliferation of posts condemning said deletion is made by people lacking insight and/or any real standpoint to argue from.

Or...you could just read the recent threads on the subject...more than just the last page, I might add...
Like, does it have a giant vacuum that sucks in stupid people and keeps them there
And is this not flame bait...to make such a sweeping gesture about a forums intellect shows a pompous attitude that I find extremely nauseating...and If you insult my intellect MARATHON then you dont know me as well as I thought you did...

Well, you think I'm Marathon, which is utterly incorrect for a start. Any mod can confirm I post from England. Marathon, I believe, did not.
And the thing about sweeping generalisations is they're based on averages. The average length of post in General is about one line.
Enough said. So um ... I guess on the strength of a) you thinking I'm Marathon and b) you thinking I'm Marathon, yes I insult your intellect.

First, he is NOT Marathon. Not by any stretch. Second, I rather think you deserve to be flamed. There. How does it feel to be insulted because of what you post. By the end of tonight, I will make sure you know why the rules exist to protect the victim.
*Laughs*
Have you actually even read the post I was deleted for
