Stop deleting nations for silly things... we can just freeze their account temporality (say, a week to a month).

Isn't that fairer?

it is especially since you can't salvage your previous nation name ever again aFter deletion.

i was deeply hurt after they deleted my old nation and wouldn't let me have the name back atleast

They do that so someone else won't grab the name and flame you.

I believe existing rules to be both fair and lenient. It is difficult indeed to be deleted for accidental flaming.

I'm starting to wonder if my deletion was really fair.

I think the death penalty is too harsh.

I had a thread called "ask Hitler." A mod locked it, then warned me not to try and resurect it. I didn' realize that also applied to my soon-to-be-created "ask Castro" thread. (I thought a breif disclaimer would cover it.)

The mods last word too me were "Deat" I stilll don't know what that meant.

They allready did that to him once. He was banned from the fourms for a week. You only get so many chances....

Yeah I heard that.
But they never gave me that chance!

When you created your nation you agreed to this site's Terms of Service (ToS). Within that ToS it is stated that you yield certain rights to Max and those he appoints as site Admin and Moderators.

It's quite clear in the FAQ what is not tolerated. If you cant live by the rules, I suggest you find a new site to frequent. Many nations have flourished with no interaction with the Mods...some nations have decided that they have to "fight the 'man'" and in doing so have lost.

Can I post a link to an offsite forum? It won't have anything unnessarily offensive (like porn)-- just bad humor, flame-bait, ect.

And did either of you break the rules?

probably, and I was punished appropriatly for it and I'm sorry for it.--but answer my question.
Let me put it this way--If I have an offsite forum, what can I post on it without getting the mods upset?

As long as you dont quote the other forum, I dont forsee too much of a problem. There are quite a few offsite forums related to NationStates with hyperlinks posted.

I do caution you though about using links to flame/troll in these forums...

I misread you. Do you mean i can't say things like (and this is in demonstration) "The general forum sucks"?

No, I'm saying you cant post links to a post in another forum/site that says something like: "F You" and expect it to not count as flaming.

Okay... What if I resurected my ask hitler thread?

(I would, of course, include disclaimers)

No. It was locked for taking very racial/derogatory tone. It would be quite difficult to keep that thread civil and within the rules, thus, I suggest you do not attempt to resurrect it.
