out-war is that thing where you get people to click a link and that strengthens your "army."

Yeah. Normally through tricking them into clicking it. There are several things like that out there, all very dumb.

A typo, likely. Probably supposed to be 'MUD', which stands for Multi-User Dungeon. Think Ever Quest, but all text.
