Before anyone asks about the 'new player'. . . .

24-09-2003, 02:14
We are not a new player. We are simply a group puppet operated by the players for those times when we do not wish to reveal which player is posting. We are all the players. Beeks, Paz, Spoff, Pablo, TG, AT, Danya, Snubis, Norm, etc.

I think it's a great idea. Which mod thought of it?
24-09-2003, 02:17
No joke. This nation is to allow the players to post without revealing which particular player is actually speaking. Note the motto.

Good question...

What I want to know is whose idea was this?

Good Idea - but the posts will be tracked by IP.

Most forums save the IP of the member making a post AS they post.

so I'm 110% sure this account ISN'T private.

Funny though..

*doubts the coming smackdown*

In any case...NS Players, this is probably the stupidest idea I've heard of yet on NS. Any mod, given the slightest inclination, could quite easily use an IP check to figure out who was using the account at the moment.

Lem's right, we can check the IP of a specific post...and that specific post will only be tied to the other nation(s) using that IP.

In other words, no matter how many IP's are attached to a nation, each individual post is only tagged with one IP...thus, unless you all share an IP we Mods will know who posted what ;)

I think they're hiding from other players, not mods.

At least I hope they're smart enough to realize IP's can be tracked.

That nation should be deleted. It's already been used to spam the forums.

that woulda been much funnier if you had posted it as "the NS players" but hey too late now.

And yet.

We're clocking you logging in / after everything you said all the sh*t you wrote you're still dropping in / putting your two cents in / hy-po-cra-sy does not describe the pit that you're in

So here's our thing.

Don't think of changing the password / don't spam or flame under us cause we'll get the last word / we're scoping your keyboard / we've got the drop on you make no mistake we'll smash your spinal cord / and you'll get a locked ward / with padded walls a chair and a crossword / and years in which to regret getting that bored

What I'm saying is you don't fool / we have you clocked have you locked you f*ck with us the AK is our tool / don't act like a stool / he he drop the mask only a newb would be fooled

Respect to the General crew, truest playas signing out.

Wow um.. this is almost like a player's union. It's a great idea in theory, if your one of the "group". What about those of us on the outside? Are we now less powerful? Will we have to bow down and kiss your ring and ask you to bless our children? "Ah Don NS Players... I need a favor.."

Don't get me wrong, you know I love you guys, hell, you are all friends of mine. However, I just wonder.. where this madness will lead, why it is neccesary, and when it will end. What's next? The NS Mafia? The NS Malitia? The NS Cripps and Bloods? How about The NS AARP for all you old farts. :P

Just as long as no rules are broken, we (the Mods) dont care.

Be warned though, flaming with use of a puppet will result in the responsible party(parties) being warned as well. And as I stated previously - we can get your IP's, and we are able to find out who the "parent" nation is of any particular post.
24-09-2003, 17:47

We are the Players.

But only one at a time.

We are legion.

Yet appear as one.

We speak with one voice.

But the Mods can hear many.

We are what you see.

But not who I am.
24-09-2003, 18:06
(...) we can get your IP's, and we are able to find out who the "parent" nation is of any particular post.

...which should be obvious to anyone knowing about detecting UN multis. However, this is good to avoid abuse by spammers to nations that oppose them. Nothing more, but nothing less either.
24-09-2003, 18:35
This feels a bit strange... Like wearing someone elses costume. But funny, not ugly. And no one can figure out who I am... unless that IP thingy goes red on me. :D

Ditto.

Sadly, this techinque doesn't really work here.

Which technique? Freedom, common sense [TM], morality or the insight that changing the password of an account to which the password was publicly announced does not make one look like a cool "1337 hax0r" or "crax0r" but more like a fool?

I guess all of them... :(
