Problem With NationStates Moderators

23-09-2003, 23:46
I know you all got together and made this nice little nation to work together and make life easier . . .

But what's stopping someone from hacking in and screwing things up? You will not know which mod (or hacker) did what job.

The damage that could be done is almost nil. It has forum moderator powers at best, meaning the worst that could happen is some weird stuff on the forums. (No nations suddenly getting deleted or anything weird like that  )

Due to concerns raised though, said puppet nation will likely be stripped of even that much power.

So it otherwords it will have no mod powers, and simply be used as a "spokesnation?" Seems logical, captain.

Okay Rep, thanks for clearing that up.

I was thinking along the lines of someone stealing it and messing things up.

I wasn't really worried about the mods doing that.

I wager it's no more or less vulnerable than any of the other mod nations.

Maybe not, but definitely a more inviting target for hackers.

I wager [violet], [dredd], or [reploidproductions] would be far more enticing than a Forum Mod account...

And a lot easier to catch . . .

Hack, restore my faith in you guys as a team, you're not going to replace SLAGGY yet, are you? I want him to come back.

As of now, there are no plans to be replacing Slag.

Thanks, Hack.
