Request for Clarification on Mod Position

What is the moderator position on impersonation? Impersonation being defined as registering a nation with 1 or more non-obvious different letters from another nation and telegramming that nation's associates maliciously pretending to be them. For instance a nation impersonating me would be named something like Port 0 John (note the 0 instead of the O) and would telegram other nations imitating my style of writing and subtly sabotaging my reputation.
Impersonating mods make them furious (i.e. Neutred Sputnik)
However I don't think that the rest deserves a ban.

Creating a nation with a very similar name to that of a well-known one and publicly making defamatory comments would certainly attract their attention.
What that nation is doing is illegal, impersonation is not allowed. Report it using the Getting Help Page (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=help) since this is a game issue and does not involve the forums.

Yes, recent circumstances have piqued my curiosity about the moderator position on impersonation of another nation. Would this go unpunished, result in loss of UN status, or deletion of the offending nation?

I would imagine deletion, if the offending puppet has been used to say particularly nasty things, and if there is a risk of a player's reputation being damaged.

Impersonation of the Mods is not allowed for seemingly obvious reasons...
Impersonation of other players is allowable as long as it does not become defammatory.

I created a nation called "Finite Loop" as a joke when somebody made a comment nomimationg "The guilt ridden Finite Loop" as a Mod and I1L asked whether there was really such a nation without doind a nation search.
Is that impersonation?

Someone earlier made an account called "VVolomy" and started spamming the UN forum with things like "Foreskin collection agency proposal." After he made like 4 threads he was deleted.
