To Whom it may concern:
I had a nation, guns n fukin roses stationed in the pacific, and one day I logged on to find that it had been blown off the face of the earth. Im just wondering why it got deleted (I had no duel UN status), or if it was just a glitch.. Thank You.

You were very likely deleted for having an offensive national name. Please do not use foul language when selecting a national name; national names, currencies, mottos, animals, and so on are held to a higher standard than forum posts.

Oh, don't worry, I was not trying to make a formal complaint or anything, that nation has not offended me at all, just saying that the rules are applied loosely on an "only if we happen to catch you basis". I will file a report though, for the principle of the thing.

Well, we can't do anything about offenders if we don't know about them, now can we?

"Think about it for a moment."

I can understand that, there are 73,000 of them and no-one is ever going to do an audit.

I'm sure 24 hours is not 28 days by any messure. His country name was offensive, and it is debatable if that was the real reason why he was deleted. He's just not giving the full details of his other actions. The MOD that deleted him might shed some light on this and explain which infraction he actually was caught for. I did not report him, but I'm sure that there may be someone who would for whatever.

I think at some point someone will pull down a complete list of all names, motto's, currency's, and animals, and auto-search it for whatever sequences of characters are deemed offensive. A casual audit like that is actually very simple to do.

I've just been involved in stopping a region from being invaded and whilst there noticed multiple nations with explicit sexual names currencies etc and reported them.

All in all I'm sure the region now wishes I hadn't bothered helping them.

I always report them now as someone eventually has to so why should I avoid doing it.

The only thing that could be termed offensive was the "fukin" The animal and the motto were both completely un-offensive, and the nation was over 600 million! and I logged onto it everyday.. so it was a little wierd when I went ot log on after months and it was simply gone.

Is there any consensus on what is considered offensive? Who would decide? If someone was to do that, chances are they would just be giving a Moderator several pages of hits to wade through. I am not sure that would be appreciated.

Fukkin is considered offensive. If you have to change the spelling of a word so that it gets past a word censor...it's probably offensive ;)

To borrow a line from Cog:

"Think about it for a moment."

[Moderator Edit - Cogitation] Borrowed line corrected. If you're going to borrow a line from me, try not to cut it in half. :P  [/modedit]

Well when I made the nation I was just starting, so I figured if I was allowed to write it then it would be accepted! And I had it for months and nothing happened... anyways, whatever its gone and no big deal. Thanks for your answers.

If they break game rules I can't imagine why you would help them at all...

I didn't notice until I was already there, plus the bad behaiour of a few nations doesn't condemn a quiet region.

The crashers turned out to be griefers anyway and responsible for all this profusion of "bow down" spam so no loss there.

Whoa, America Inc was part of a griefer region? Which one?
