A Complaint

I respect people who RP. I think that it takes a certain degree of skill to make an RP work well. But there is one thing that ticks me off something awful.

Romance RP'ers.

It's not the just plain sickness of posting the smut that they do, but it's the posts that they rack up by doing so. I don't see how posting maybe 16 letters of dialogue 7000 times is fair.

In fact, I think it's verging dangerously on spamming. I'd just like to see if anyone agrees with me on this one. (For a good example, read The Shantavo Academy, Year 2 (New Thread). I have no problem with an RP academy, but I do with waht's being posted. It just ain't fair, I tells ya!)

I see your point if the romance RP in question is off-topic. That is, people hijacking a thread. However, in the case of a thread created with that purpose in mind, surely there is no problem?

I'm not a big fan of romance RPs(or books or movies for that matter) but I wouldnt say its spamming(I mean in general I have not looked at the threead provided yet)

Don't see much problem with it, as long as it stays pg or pg-13 at most. Though I do believe that the thread should be closed, 130 and change pages? oi vey!

The Shentavo Academy: Year 2 (New Thread) (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=64864)

If the roleplay ever contains sexually explicit material (that is, detailed descriptions of sexual acts), post the word "modalert".

Otherwise, there's nothing wrong with such roleplays.

133 pages? What happened to the 60 page limit? Did they start that thread before it was imposed?

The limit applies to General only...it's in the announcement ;)

I didn't know about the announcement, I heard it somewhere else. Thank you.

Oh yeah, while I remember, how exactly does "Modalert" work? Does a mod have to read every thread on NS until he sees it or does it send a telegram with the URL of the offending thread to one?
