A request from The South Pacific

Starting on Sept. 20th and running until Sept. 25th, our region is going to be running a debate called the Great Council of The South Pacific here in the NationStates forum at the request of several of our regional members who hold our offsite regional forum in suspect. As Secretary of Justice for the region, I would like to request that one or more mods attend, both to help keep order and to watch our experiment in the event that other regions want to do the same thing in the future. :D

Depending on the timing, I'll be there as much as I can. More details would be helpful - as in, how many nations will be involved, will it be a restricted thread, etc...

So far, about 60 nations have said that they would attend at least part, if not all, of The Great Council. Additionally, there's a heavy advertising campaign to get nations to attend, so there may be more that just the 60 who've said yes. The debate would just be for nations living in the region The South Pacific, although I wasn't aware that an option existed to restrict the thread to just nations from our region...
The one thing that I'll definitely need mod help with--the debate is scheduled to end at 1159pm Pacific time on Sept. 25th, period. I'll need a mod to lock the thread at that time or as soon after it as possible, if that's a workable option.

When it starts, post a link, and I'm sure some of us other mods will try and keep an eye on it.

More specifically, post a link here.
By the way, Slackervania, just to confirm: You said that debate has to end 11:59 PM Sept 25.
That's 2:59 AM Sept 26 EST,
7:59 AM Sept 26 GMT,
to provide other mods with reference points.
Any other time zones I should add?

Shouldn't that be: ?

02:59 AM Sept 26 EDT
06:59 AM Sept 26 GMT
Or perhaps I'm confused on the timezones?!?

New York is five timezones away from Greenwich.
AFAIK, GMT is Greenwich MEAN time, not whatever time it is in Greenwich. In other words: GMT has no daylight savings, while many places on Earth do. Like NY.
See for instance: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/time.asp?locationid=US-NY.
At the time I'm posting this it says:
UTC/GMT is 12:22 on tuesday september 16 2003
the current time in New York, United States 08:22 AM
That's a 4 hour time difference between NY and GMT. When NY switches from EDT to EST, it'll be five hours again as EST has a five hour difference with GMT.

Okay, change of plans--several nations have asked, in the interests of fair play and completeness, that the Great Council thread not be locked yet, since there are still amendments to the Charter that need to be approved. So, as the event organizer, I'm asking that the thread not be locked.
Thank you, and sorry for the trouble. :D
