If nobody reacted fast enough, the region would have been deleted and the Founder's status removed. That might have been the objective. I just moved my puppet in there to keep the region open.

I found out about this incident when I got curious about Venom Army, after that stupid post above, and tried to follow his path back from his current location. That's how I came across "World Pudding Alliance".

Ah, usually they password protect it to prevent the region from being salvaged like that. I didn't even check! :oops:

BTW, the main reason to put a puppet in a griefed region is to preserve the evidence. Once a GM gets involved whomever is Founder at that time can be changed quite easily :).

I remember "Spam Bombers" and "Python Force", I filed a Mod report on them earlier today for griefing a different region. (note: that was and is my interpretation of events, a GM has the final word on whether or not it qualifies as griefing)

I'd like to point out that the current incasion of European Union in itself isn't a griefing invasion right now, although I agree that considering the nations involved and what they've done to other regions before, it becoming a griefing invasion seems quite likely.

But yeah, I thought the "Official moderator message" could've been toned down a bit, especially since nothing illegal is happening in that region (yet). Oh well, it's better to do all the learning now as a Forum Mod than later on as a Game Mod.

Don't get me wrong Cog., I voted for ya in the Moderator Poll, and I'd do it again today!

I thought the "Official moderator message" could've been toned down a bit, especially since nothing illegal is happening in that region (yet).

Given that I did not have conclusive proof of illegal activity by these nations, I should have (at the time) kept it toned-down; you are proably correct.

However, I now feel that I have enough evidence for a game moderator to delete all three of them: "AlphaC", "Spam Bombers", and "Python Force".

Although "Venom Army" is being endorsed by "Spam Bombers" and "Python Force", I do not yet have conclusive proof against "Venom Army".

I will not send TGs this time, because they will not be able to come in anyway, unless there is a TG send to all the natives by the crashers. I personally think that there is not enough proofe that they broke the rules. After all, they may have send the password to all natives.

Grievers can (most of the time) only grieve 1 region every 24 hours, so if spamming or bothering another region, let the natives file a complain about it. I am sure that these guys will be punished before they can grieve another region.
Btw. Most grievers know what is the best time for attacking a region, without getting bottered by a mod. That is why they do it now, and no mod has deated them yet. We just have to be patient, and fill in a HELP form :wink:

If it's a legal invasion, these folks aren't griefers. They become griefers when they do something that's clearly against the rules like clear out the entire region against the wished of the residents.

Whoa now, hold on. I have a hard time believing that AlphaC was involved in this. He was delegate of The South Pacific for a time, and he was fair and honest--he was also very against region crashing. How can you be sure that his nation wasn't hacked?

I have already contacted his other nation to find out what is happening, this does not seem like AlphaC at all, I hope to get an answer from him soon. and that was before I read this, I noticed that his nation had been deleted and was wondering why. now I see why, but I do not believe that he would do that with out something having had happen.

The Nationstates Mafia also does something like this, they send something like 10 people into a region, vote for one of them to become delegate who then ejects everyone else, password protects the place and they all go back. Is this what is refered to as grieving?

I think Cogitation has been okay on this, so far as I can see he's been an enthusiastic player rather than flexing his Forum Mod muscle.

I'd elaborate on this, but I don't think that I want to clarify the idea for those griefers who don't know yet but would like to take advantage of this.

Most of these regions are quietly roleplaying or chatting about fly fishing and extreme ironing. They have no idea what an invasion is.

When you turn up during an invasion and endorse their delegate if they manage to figure out what might be going on, they tend to assume everyone's invading and eject the lot of you. I've seen it happen where they eject everyone who's endorsed them and not the invaders because the invaders sent them soothing telegrams.

So I've learnt to not take it hard when the people you help flame you in response. Just a bit of solidarity their with Corinthe :?

Just as an observation for those who seem confused.
I believe there is an AlphaC, and then there is also an Alpha C. Note the space. Perhaps one of these two is your good samaritan and the other the griefing region crasher. :?:

Eshek is correct. "Alpha C" resides in "EWL Training Grounds"; I have heard no reports, but I'm not a Game Mod. "AlphaC" was deleted for griefing.

True, but if someone cheats with one nation, it at least count as a strike against their main nation.
