Locked as per your request. Valiant effort, but sadly, yes, people tend to be... well... yeah.

After talking with Rep, I unlocked it because I think that they may leave you alone. I posted a warning to them, and will keep an eye on it. If it gets out of hand, I'll relock it.

Oh man, two n00bs arguing over who's more n00bish, how depressing. And in a real thread too. Now it's time I litter it with my own worthless comment.

And actually on topic: It's rather depressing that people cannot understand that people died and that it's a bad thing even if you disagree with those people, or more specifically with those people's government. It's also sad when people feel the need to barge into a mournful thread instead of at least having the decency to leave it alone and make their own thread in which to disrespect the dead.

Indeed, it's not like they're not spoilt for choice.

That's actually off topic and raises the central issue which is threads on subjects in this "genre" will always turn to muck because everyone is on a side and no one can resist either American bashing or self indulgent false empathy. Thank gods for Moderation.

*Bows down and worships at the altar of MAX for providing Mods.*

I think that as americans, they are rather overly focused on what happens in America and forget that people outside their borders can be either i) Innocent, or ii) People too.

They complain about 3000 who died, admittedly in a shabby fashion due to mad fanatics, but they then go and cheer on their dimwitted prez when he ignores half the problem (Saudi fanatics), to go and blunder by letting the other half of the problem (Al Queada & Bin Ladin) escape as he dimwittedly hurries prematurely into another conflict with a pherepherial player that kills far more innocents than it is worth. a single bomb from a F-117 into the middle of a speech on his palace balcony would have done the job without the casulties on both sides the full war has, and pointed out the America cares about more than just about oil, which is what it looks like from here, if there was no oil America quite likely wouldn't have found Iraq enouth of a problem to smash. given it was sittign happily at home with it's dicator twiddling its thumbs, While North Korea, which is noisily stomping around, and is far more dangerous than Iraq, is being effectively ignored.

Ah yeah, but Saddam's Iraq mistreated minorities like kurds... which is exactly why the next American war is to be on Turkey!
