(This was typed up in the general forum by mistake, so I'm posting it again here)
Some little imp is going around spamming regional forums under the geise of the name "Hitler III." No, it's not me, it's a little nazi punk by the former nation name of "Freemantia," leader of the defunct "nazi empire." His new nations are resting in Nazi Deutschland Axis (the region) and are annoying other regions with crap posts and then using that name as a signature or something. I have nothing to do with this, don't want to have anything to do with this, and do not want to be deleted because some A-hole is spamming with my name. Perhaps an IP ban of this guy is in order? Whatever you do, just know that I have nothing to do with it and I've been minding my own business in CnC Universe, which I haven't left since 2 months ago. Good day.

You need to use the contact mod thing here at Nationstates in order to better bring the problem to light.
Hmm... I'm no mod, but your situation does look serious. How can you prove this guy isn't you?

The mods can check IPs, login times, email addresses, and several other (undisclosed) methods.

Well he isn't going to regions with the nation name of "Hitler III," since that's my nation. But whenever he's on one of his spam nations, he uses that name in his signature. This afternoon I got a TG that linked me to one of the region forums (The United Peoples of Abraham) where this guy has been doing his dirty work. They think it's been ME doing it, despite the fact that I only have this nation and 2 puppets which haven't left CnC Universe since they were created (and mods can check all sorts of logs to prove this, I've been told).

Thank you. And it works very well too. When I had to report Diablo III, they responded in well under a day. I have now activated password security on my region to prevent further harm.

Spamming is clearly not on and 'illegal', but I thought impersonation was allowed.
It's not like I do it, I bought that dress and those stockings for a fancy dress party that never happened and I just clean house dressed in them so that they don't go to waste.
I know impersonating a mod is punishable by a fate worse than becoming a mod, but I thought you could impersonate other nations.

I would just call that sneakiness, you're not framing someone to the Mods because to a limited extend they can check.
You're just framing someone in the eyes of other players which is standard politics from the golf club to G8.
I don't approve of it, but I thought it was legal.

How about in my case, where I have 2 nations residing in my region whose names are sketci and sketcm. Plus another nation who copied my motto and flag. Or how about that region named sketch_needs_to_get_the_hell_out_of_LETI, or something to that effect. I'm flattered that someone is willing to take the time and effort to do this, but I'm also annoyed. They're sullying my good name.

copying a flag isn't forbidden, although a flag and motto at once could be impersonating.
