The moderators have come to rule this site as fanatical Nazi dictators. However, I will give legitimate explanations to prove it, not just complain because they've pissed me off:

1: The Mods rule through terror. If you do anything they dislike, or just piss them off, you will be deleted, without being permitted a word in your own defense. Instant Execution. If they want to get rid of you, they'll easily find a loophole to warrant your deletion. "What is that? You go against the Furher's wishes? *BANG*"

2: Many of their decrees are not written in the rules, and they utilize the fexibility of the rules to terrorize players they disagree with. Most of the rules are so vague a mod can do whatever he/she wants and never be said they weren't following the rules, because they can interpret them however they please.

3: There are a number of rogue mods (some of which have been mentioned by previous players, but that I dare not mention), who for months have been known to grief players they don't like and delete them if they squack. "One lives in the Star Wars Galaxy, hint, hint."

Please reply quickly, before I get deleted.

Okay, I'll admit that some things the mods do annoy me (*misses Philandrea*), but they certainly aren't SS officers.

This is a private site, therefore you have NO rights, and the mods can do anything admin feels is neccesary. And if you go around pissing the mods off like this, what do you expect will happen? Don't like it, don't want to put up with it? The door's to your left.

Yes, NS is a dictatorship, the mods have said so themselves.

The mods do rule through fear. However, there seems to be no other way. If this site isn't going to be democratic and allow everything (and I for one wouldn't want that), it has to be dictated to. Roughly 8 weeks ago, loads of new nations sprang up (guess why) and they wanted to do nothing but shock and upset. Most of them are gone or will soon be too busy studying to continue but for a short while the mods were in turmoil. Then they deleted with a scatter gun to restore order. Some good chaps and chapettes went and some nasty little ****. We have all had to come to terms with the facts of life. .............Phew, that's better.

:roll: The mods have never bothered me. I've put out my extremist liberal-left viewpoints a whole bunch of times, argued viciously, defended my religion (Wicca), and even started completely pointless threads ("I found a chocolate chip in my sock drawer!" and "Hem hem") and I haven't heard from a mod once. I don't even see them telling off people very often, on the boards at least. Don't make such boneheaded generalizations.

P.S. Slag and Neutered Sputniks are actually pretty funny, I hardly even notice they're mods.

This has little to do with Pretty Pink Pagotas. Rather, it has more to do with it than that. Sure, if you tell the mods to go procreate themselves right to their faces, you're asking for it. But if you just state your politics, want to have a little fun, or tell respond to another's insult, one of them who disagrees with your politics will threaten you, or just plain delete you without any accountability.

As much as the Admins control everything, they're too busy to police them (and perhaps don't want to). Either way, nobody watches the watchers, and thus they can do almost anything they want to us "peons."

what we have here are a bunch of schoolyard bullies given prefect badges.

99 people wander past but the 100th gets a warning, if they react badly to that warning (what am I doing that is so different) they get another then they over react, then they get deleted

I'd like to briefly note that teh General forum is all but devoid of moderation. There is the periodic peak from a mod or two and there are responses to calls for help here in General, but there are no mods especially for this forum as there are for NS and II. There are moderators who I have literally never seen a post from and had never heard of when they became mods because the NS and II forums are considered higher importance for moderation than the more freeform General. While it may be true that certain moderators are less than impartial in their decision making in other forums 99% of what is moderated in this forum is true spam or inappropriate content. There are few judgment calls and almost no one has cause to be upset over moderator actions here.

I think they'll leave the nation alone, just to prove how wrong he is about them being deletion-crazy. I mean, how would it look if he were to suddenly "disappear" after questioning the mods?

No, the best thing the mods did would have been the deletion of Marathon. Of course, if they ever delete Bisons and/or Belem, that will become the best thing they've ever done. ^_^

The mods, contrary to the opinion of people who have suffered moderation due to their own (often puerile) action, are not a group of power-crazed psychopaths deleting threads at their own whim. They work for admin. Admin is god here. If admin tells them to delete everyone who uses the word 'platypus,' then they will delete everyone who uses the word 'platypus,' and this is perfectly legal. Why? This is a private site. You have no rights or recourse save those the admin provides. If you don't like it, don't play the game.

I certainly have no problem with this, not because I've never suffered moderation (which is because I refrain from immature spamming and flaming, most likely), but because I remember the dark days before Moderation, when psychopaths like Zoland could post Goatse and Tubgirl in every single thread in the forum and we were all powerless to stop it. I, for one, am very glad we have moderators.

Namely, using puppet nations to prop up support for yourself - most notably in this forum section (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=9) is a good way to irritate the mods. You have been warned before (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60448&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0) about doing this sort of thing. Not that it's been particularly bad recently (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=68125), but your frequent past offences in this regard do lead to rather swift warnings on the matter at hand when the occasion appears to warrant it.

I don't think that a long hard talk with anyone is necessary as long as they know not to have more then one UN nation from the same computer.

Personally, (and this is merely my opinion as an ordinary player), as long as those who also use Fantasan's computer identify themselves as Fantasan's friend/sibiling/whatever in forum disucssions, I don't see a problem with it. We could, of course, doubt Fantasan's word about whether or not he's sharing the computer with anyone else, but if it's only in regard to forum discussions and he isn't/they aren't trying to get multiple UN member nations, I don't see how it's a really big deal.

Of course, not being a moderator, I could be wrong. If it really is a big deal (even if they identify themselves in forum discussions as playing from the same computer), then I respectfully ask the mods to explain it to me.

Although I am flattered that I am held in a high esteem of many (even the creator of Amerigo the AntiMod (seeing how the rest of the imitations have some barb in them and this one doesn't), I do not use puppet nations anymoe (I used puppets before, but never changed my style of writing or opinions (except for one as a joke... Reploid I think knows which I one I'm talking about if she remembers of course).

But oh well.
