Before You Post...

The: Before You Post in the Technical and Moderation Forum Page

I have noticed, and I'm sure you all have, that numerous times, nations will post requests and are told to go to the Getting Help Page (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi) located in the FAQ (http://www.nationstates.net/pages/faq.html). In order to prevent this and to stop (or atempt to anyways) un-nessesary posts in the Tech and Mod forums I have took it upon myself to do make the "Befor you post..." page.

The Technical Forum
The Technical forum is for problems with the game, not other players. It is for unknown bugs and other unknown or unable to be solved issues. If you are having trouble first visit the Known Problems Page (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/page=problems). If that doesn't solve your problem read the next part of this page..

What goes in the Technical Fourm:
 Problems with the game including but not limited too Unknown bugs, issues not addressed in the FAQ, Known Problems Page, or the Getting Help Page.
Problems with the server.
Questions about the rules of the game and the FAQ.
Questions about how the game works.
Questions about the forum.
Ideas for improvements.
Note: Do not post problems with other players in the forum. That is not what it is for.

The Moderation Forum
The Moderation forum is for issues that require immidiate moderator action and that cannot be solved using the Getting Help Page or that cannot be worked out by yourself. These issues would include: Spamming of the Forums, and flaming in the forums. Note: Godmodding is not a punishable crime. :? Do not post saying "John Newbie is godmodding, delete him please."

Using the Getting Help Page
The getting help page is a way to contact moderators about such things like inappropriate UN Proposals, Spamming, Posting/Sending of abussive telegrams, cheating (having more than one nation in the UN. Note: Do not post the names of alleged multis on the forums as they are innocent until proven guilty) and other things such as reviving a nation. Make sure to select the right category from the drop list! Otherwise your request may not be processed. Please Remember:Moderators are here to deal with players who are abusive or cheat -- not to resolve arguments. You have to do that on your own..

A Little On Hackers
Most of time, if someone threatens to hack your nation or region, it is more than likely a load of crap. If you are paranoid enough (like me) it doesn't hurt to post about it but it is most likely hot air..

Just an observation, but isn't this all taken care of in the first 6 topics on the page that are stickied?

Good observation and I value your opinion but I dont think it is all covered. Example: What goes in the Moderation forum is not there. Plus, this is a convinient little package. :)

Hopefully some of the "I'm gonna nuke the world and win" people will find this thread and learn something from it. Also, good work. This should be a sticky if it already isnt (i jumped here from my nation page). Kudos to you!

actually if this one topic covers sufficiently what the six up to cover the only disadvantage I can see in having one topcic asoposed to six is rightnow all you have to do is look for the appropriate topic, and read it, however a general toppic usually leads to confusion for new users.
perhaps the initail post could be added to the existing posts.

See the thing is, this is once little package that covers it all. And none of the posts above include what goes in the Moderation Forum.

Isn't this supposed to be sorta pinned?

Isn't this supposed to be sorta pinned?

There was another thread about that, and it was decided not to do so. The argument is that the current pinned items sufficiently cover the bases as is.
