The Revolutionary People’s Republic of Kirovnia
Official Communiqué
With our civil war and revolution drawing to a close, I, Generalissimo Mikhail Sergeiovich Kirov, son of the Eternal Dear Leader Sergei Kirov, Enabler of The Revolution, Gurantor of Avtomat Region, Emir of Odei, Count of Kurg, Comissar Marshal of the Peoples Revolutionary Board, and two-time Hero of Kirovnia, extend my hand in greeting to the world. The Revolutionary People's Republic seeks official international recognition of our nation. I particularly extend My hand to our capitalist neighbor, The Holy Sumguaian Empire, and to the Hegemon, Mary Basset. I personally invite the Hegemon to visit our great country, and view the progress of our reconstruction of the holocaust that occured during our bitter war against The Von-Kurg Empire, and the glory of our second, and Kirovnian revolution.
In the name of my people, my deceased father, and myself,
I do declare publicly my wish to enter into diplomatic talks, and seek international trade, with the Holy Sumguaian Empire.

Office of the Hegemon, Sumguaia
The Hegemon smirked as she read the communique before her. "Generalissimo Kirov? Didnt he die?"
The Foreign Minister, Dr. Booker, sitting before her, smiled at the comment. "They are all named Kirov, ma'am."
"Oh, yes, right." Mary Basset leaned back in her chair, chuckling to herself. "And they want me to tour the country, do they? An interesting idea. Can't see how we would be too popular over there, what with the socialist economic system that the Kirovnians have."
"You'd be surprised ma'am." Booker said, still smiling.
Mary's eyebrows raised. "I suppose that is good to hear. What do you recommend?"
Booker's grin widened. "Oh, we can't be seen to have shown such rudeness as to refuse our neighbor's invitation. No harm could come of it, and I do believe that you will find a visit to Kirovnia a most...interesting experience."
Mary smirked again. "well now I have to go, you've sparked my curiosity. Please send the Kirovnians a communique accepting their request."
Nodding, Booker stood up, and exited the room.

Urborobad, Kirovnia
Th private jet carrying the Hegemon taxied to a stop on the runway of the Urborobad airport. After a moment, a door on it's side opened and stairs unfolded onto the asphalt below. Three bodyguards stepped out first, followed by Mary Basset. The Hegemon looked around her, takign int eh scene. So, this is Kirovnia. Spotting her hosts, she began making her way across the runway to meet the waiting Kirovnians.

Seeing the Hegemon approach, Grandobo, a woman of 6'7 and the Colonel of the Kirov guard snapped into a palm outward salute. She was quite an imposing sight, wearing the Black Uniform of the Kirov Guard, consisting of a black standing collar jacket, and red skull insignia. She was black, with a scar running from her temple to her chin. Many others in the same uniform stand around her, two officers small gold stars on their shoulder boards in addition to the red skulls, and riflemen holding gold Ak 47s, all had many medal ribbons on their chest, and were wearing knee high boots, with no difference in general appearance and uniform between the men and women. In a Kirovnian accent she greets the Hegemon.
"His Excellency the Generalissimus, sends his apologies he could not be here in person, he is resolving some factory difficulties in Kurg. Madame Hegemon, you may meet him in Kurg, or we may continue on to Kirovgrad? it is your choice.”
Lord Sumguy

The Hegemon flashed the Colonel a friendly smile. "I do believe that I shall meet the Generalissimo in Kurg, if it is not any trouble."

Lowering her salute she replied:
"Not at all, though I’m afraid that the runway at Schuhfabrikburg will not be able to accommodate your jet plane I’m afraid, we have sent the closest transport plane available to accommodate the abnormally short runway there."
She motioned her hand to a White 4 engine transport plane with wooden propellers, an open canopy for the pilots, and 4 open air machine gun turrets. The design looked like somthing from the 30's by hegemony standards A crew of people in black utility uniforms scrambled around the plane getting it ready for the 3 hour flight.
"If you have concerns about security, the odds of getting shot done are slim to none, nobody not even a Kurgnian terrorist would dare shoot at a white plane, It is his excellencies personal transport for areas either without runways or with very short ones."

Mary's smile flickered for a moment as she beheld the aircraft, and it took a moment for her to regain her compusure. "Are you sure that it wouldn't be podssible to fly an aircraft of...more modern design to a larger airport nearby to Schuhfabrikburg, and then take a helicopter from there?"
As she waited for an answer, the Hegemon continued to stare at the small aircraft, her face betraying nothing of the conflicting emotions of amusement and horror that she felt at the prospect of riding as a passenger on such an aeroplane.

Grandobo looked amused at the response. Inside her head she thought of how the plane must look to a capitalist hegemon. Regaining her thought she motioned to one of the officers, He steped forwardand clicked his heels then engaged in a shallow bow, Grandobo gave him an order,
"Bring Me a Map of Kurg" She said in the nothing-but-business manner of the Kirov Guard.
"Da Tovarish Kolonel!" He said then snappily turned by pivoting his heels in a military manner, he engaged in a jog towards the white plane.
Grandobo resumed her conversation with the Hegemon,
"Mistress Hegemon, I apologize on behalf of his Excellency I will look immediately for such a runway suitable for your plane, and we will radio ahead to have a state helicopter or airship take us to the factory.

Mary beamed. "You are most kind, Colonel. I do apologize for the inconvenience. She looked at the plane again, smirking. "I suppose that it doesn't say much for my hardiness, but such is why I am merely a stateswoman, not a soldier."
She turned back to Grandobo. "Tell me honestly Colonel, if you wish to answer the question that is, what do you personally think of the Holy Empire? Of our capitalism? Our republic? Our society? I regretfully can't say that I am too knowledgeable regarding Kirovnian attitudes towards us, and that is a problem I wish to correct."

Colonel Grandobo's demeanor grew even more serious that it was before.
"Madame Hegemon, we had a taste of Capitalism in the form of the Kurgnian Empire. Capitalism forced the Slavikow into slavery, and resulted in the worst genocide in the collective history of all of our people. However Madame Hegmon, we acknowledge, that Capitalism can exist in peace, it just isn’t our way, It doesn’t work here never has, and probably never will. But who knows Generalissimus Kirov has managed to patch together our first TRUE Democracy. Maybe things are changing, but for me things will never change, things will always be the same"
About the time she finished her monologue, the officer returned with the map. He clicked his heels and bowed as before, handing the Colonel the map. She scanned over it for a few seconds then looked back up and said:
"Stadt von Lagern is the nearest runway available for a modern plane. From there we will take a helicopter to the Shoe Factory."
She looked back at the same officer who seemed to be the one in charge of running her errands.
"Tell Miroslav and Miloslav to bring the Kasimir out immediately, and then transfer all of the crew to it."
She returned her attention to the Hegemon awaiting response.

"Ah, the bane of the true capitalist," Mary's smile faded into a mournful frown. "What you regrettably experienced in the Kurgnian Empire was corporatism, often called state capitalism, which gives we who advocate truly free markets quite a bad name indeed. That is not the capitalism that we practice in any way, thank God."
After a moment she brightened again. "But enough of my prattle! I thank you for having arranged the new flight. Lead on, Colonel."

Colonel Grandobo obviously didn't care about what the Hegemon had to say, to her, Capitalism in any form was unacceptable. She started to look angry, and then remembered what she was here to do. She was stressed, she didn’t like being away from her son, and usually she was only several yards away at any given time. But her face returned to anger as the scene of her only loves life extinguished by a single shot from the emperor, how he died in her arms, and this Capitalist was trying to justify herself by condescendingly saying that she didn't experience "Real Capitalism". The thoughts were shortly put out by the six roaring jet engines that powered the Kasimir 500.
The mammoth of a plane crawled over to them; Colonel Grandobo had forgotten just how large it was. When the plane was very close to them, the engines shut off, and a door near the nose opened up. An Air Fleet Captain in his late fifties exited, he was in full medals and had 3 rows with a large pair of wings above his Medals. As he came closer his grayed out right eye became visible along with the scarring around it, and he limped slightly due to the leg injury he had sustained a few years ago that required him to keep his knee braced at all times. Behind him was an Air force Lieutenant Colonel of much younger age, he wore a royal blue uniform and had just as many medals, though the wings above them were slightly different. As they approached the Hegemon, many others exited the plane, though they did not approach
When the pair of Pilots came close, they both snapped into salute, though the elderly captain’s leg brace prevented the heel click and resulted in a sort of "Clash" sound.
As the Captain began to speak, the smell of Alcohol permeated the air around them. In his obnoxious loud raspy voice, and in a heavy Kirovnian accent, he greeted the Hegemon:
“I am Captain Miroslav Petrovik and I will be your (cough cough cough) Pilot for your visit to our Glorious Country!"
The air force officer next to him also addressed the Hegemon:
"Lieutenant Colonel Miloslav Illushin at your service ma'am, Co-Pilot for your visit to our Glorious Country!"
They both lowered their salute but remained in attention.

The Hegemon kept her smile intact through sheer force of will as she smelled the alcohol on the Captain. One of her bodyguards leaned close to whisper something in her ear, and she shook her head. After only a fraction of a second of hesitation Mary stepped forward, holding out her hand to be shaken. "It is a pleasure to meet you Captain, and you, Lieutenant Colonel. That is quite a plane you have there."

The Pilots looked at each other with confusion, they remembered a Political Officer telling them that the Hegemon was never to be touched, and she was like a queen. Finally Miroslav Motioned with his head towards the Hegemon and Miloslav shook her hand, followed by the Captain.
Miloslav was the one to respond as Miroslav’s heavily rehearsed greeting didn’t go any farther than the one line he was able to utter.
"Yes Comra-, I mean Mistress Hegemon, The biggest In Kirovnia, please follow me to the hatch and you will be shown your quarters.
When they got to the hatch, the Commissar who was assigned to be the Hegemons guide and translator came forward, she didn't salute but instead dropped to one knee in a bow, as instructed by the same mislead Political Officer who told the Pilots not to touch the Hegemon.
Colonel Grandobo looked confused but none the less she continued:
"Mistress Hegemon this is your guide and translator, Warrant Commissar Azeri Natalya"
Lord Sumguy

The Hegemon's smile flickered for a moment with confusion and dismay as her mind raced to make sense of what her apparent translator was doing. Surely this woman can't be bowing to me.. "Uhh...it's a pleasure to meet you, Commissar." She stepped back, looking down. "Did you drop something?"

Commissar Azeri Natalya panicked for a moment. Did I do something wrong? She thought that it was kind of weird that Kirov would allow his citizens to grovel at the feet of a foreign head of state. She acted quickly pulling the pen she kept hidden in her sleeve for quick access. She Replied simultaneously:
"Uhh yes Madame Hegemon, my pen, I am Warrant Commissar Azeri Natalya at your service."
She didn't know how to continue, the Political Officer from the Diplomatic Service had said something about not touching the Hegemon because she was believed to be a "capitalist deity" or something like that. Then again, the bow that she was instructed to do wasn't very effective. She decided to wait for the Hegemon to make the next move.
Lord Sumguy
04-01-2010, 09:57
Mary relaxed, somewhat relieved that the woman before her had at least pssibly not been bowing to her. She held out her hand to be shaken. "So, you are to be my translator then? I confess that I am rather ignorant of Kirovinain customs, can you tell me why the two pilots hesitated in shaking my hand outside? Are there some customs regarding greetings that I should know about?"

Warrant Commissar Azeri's eyes widened and she looked at Colonel Grandobo with what looked like panic. Colonel Grandobo nodded, and said.
"Your her guide now, tell her Comrade Warrant Commissar, is there anything she needs to know when it comes to Kirovnian greetings?"
Azeri looked back at the Hegemon.
"No there is no (fingers in quote motion) "Protocol". It would appear that the Political Officer from the Diplomatic Service, isn't very knowledgeable on your peoples customs. He said that you were some sort of Capitalist Deity to be bowed to and never to be touched."
Colonel Grandobo was surprised. But she laughed haughtily at the reply that the Warrant Commissar had just given.
"Ha ha ha ha ha, who told you that? As If The Generalissimus is going to let our proud people grovel at the feet of some foreign head of state. Witch Political Officer was it?"
Azeri Replied:
"Commissar Administrator, Victor Kublai said that he has traveled to the Hegemony and that's why the Diplomatic Office sent him."
Colonel Grandobo, still smiling replied in an amused tone:
"That fool again, Ill have him dealt with, I apologize Mistress Hegemon, for the awkwardness of your first interactions with our people."
Lord Sumguy
05-01-2010, 03:02
"Oh, no harm done, Colonel." Mary said, grinning in amusement. "A deity eh? We are all fortunate that such is not the case, I am sure. I am an elected official, nothing more." She paused, looking around the plane. "Well, Miss Natalya, I guess that we should be taking our seats. Thank you again Colonel, for your assistance."

Colonel Grandobo snapped into salute again clicking her heels.
"I again welcome you to our Republic, Madame Hegemon! I leave you in the Warrant Commissars Capable Hands, there is much for me to do."
Colonel Grandobo walked through a door and disappeared, However the two officers didn't leave the doorway. Azeri responded to the Hegemon's Request:
"Oh no ma'am I shall take you to your, Uhh I guess you could call it a house, within the plane, then Ill take you to the stateroom. You can then ask me any question that you like and ill do my best to answer."
Lord Sumguy
18-01-2010, 20:00
"Thank you, Warrant Commissar." Mary beamed. "Lead on then, I think I'd like to see this house within a plane, it sounds most interesting."
As she followed Azeri, the Hegemon tried to make sense of the events of the past hour in her mind, and found herself entirely unable to do so. What a positively odd country, this will make quite a story I am sure.
Kirovnia
19-01-2010, 08:53
Azeri thought quickly about what she said. oops, I shouldn’t have said it like that.
"I didn’t mean literally, but you’ll find that the Kasimir 500 has sufficient interior space to accommodate one such as yourself, you know... not a soldier"
Azeri chuckled just a little bit after that thought, even the civil servants in Kirovnia treated themselves like a paramilitary organization, and almost everybody drills with the partisans once in their lifetime. She motioned with her hand to go through the door opposite of the one that Colonel Grandobo had disappeared through.
"Just through here, and at the end of the hall way, you'll find your suite, yes that’s the more appropriate word."
Warrant Commissar lead the Hegemon and her bodyguards down the long hallway to the tail of the plane, the sound of the two Kirov Guard Officers who were assigned to be the Hegemon’s Kirovnian bodyguards, in step were loud. On the way there, Azeri asked the Hegemon a crucial question.
"Will you have Commissars... Wait I mean Ministers, or Senators, or Something like that joining you on your tour?"
Lord Sumguy
20-01-2010, 22:54
"I'm afraid not, Warrant Commissar." Mary replied as she followed her guide, laughing silently at the term 'commissars'. "I and my security personnel are all that will be going on this trip. I do hope that is not a disappointment."
Kirovnia
21-01-2010, 02:00
Azeri Replied:
"No not a disappointment, more of a relief, we didn't have much notice of your visit. Actually we had no notice, the Generallisimus sent the telegram to you and then informed us of his requests, witch as you see, were pretty crazy in the amount of time that he wanted it done, anyway, these are your quarters."
Azeri opened the door to the Hegemon's quarters witch looked kind of ridiculous compared to the other strictly utilitarian doors. It was of the finest olive wood stained into a beautiful rich color; the emblem of the Abrahamic League was carved into the door and glided in gold.
As Azeri opened the door, she revealed the ridiculously luxurious suite that was prepared for the Hegemon. There was a living room immediately with the couches from Marshal Galids living room in his palace, (formerly the Czar's palace) that were gilded in gold, and had soft red fabric, and were stuffed with goose feathers, the walls were plastered and decorated in mosaics depicting Scenes from the "Great War Against Fascism" and the "Kirovnian Revolution". There was a spiral staircase with red carpet and golden hand rail's leading up to the second story. Behind the stair case there was a door way leading to an office that had a modern computer, working telephone service to the Hegemony, A desk (also formerly Marshal Galid's) and Chair that matched the couches outside, and the walls were decorated with four portraits from right to left with the Current Hegemon, the Former Hegemon, The Former Generallisimus, and the Current Generallisimus. There was a Kitchen, a Dining room, and several bedrooms and a bathroom with a sink toilet and shower stall for the body guards.
Azeri took the Hegemon on a tour of the lower level and waited for her reaction before taking her upstairs to her personal quarters.
