Hello All!

OOC: The format of this thread will be sort of like a read from a History Book that a college student would be reading about Pre-Unification Earth to Unification Earth. (The back-story to my Imperium/Universe) Feel free to post your comments. Although there is no Role-Playing here, just enjoy the read. I have been working on this “Universe” for some time now, and I hope all of you enjoy it. There will be more of these types of thread coming, since there is more back story to my Imperium. Yet while I will be updating these "Archives" I will somehow intertwine my emergence into the FT World.

All of the “facts” presented in this thread are entirely of my own mind. So therefore some things may seem impossible or improbable. But I have tried to keep within the realms of realism as much as possible. But some things had to be skwed in order to work in my Universe. Don't beat me up so bad over a few things.

Oh and +100 Kudos to anyone who can guess who I used to be on this Forum. I used to be within the GFFA (Don’t know if that’s still around.)Fought a losing war against Hyperspatial Travel for a bit, that was a real fun “no-rules” type of thing. Had a lot of fun with all those people in the GFFA, too bad I disappeared and I do regret that. But I’m back.

About the Authors:

Mr. Guiler has received his Ph.D in History from the University of Genera (Genera, A. Centauri System), currently he teaches History 201B (Pre-Unification Earth II) at the University of Genera. He has a Wife and two kids, who are just starting high school and elementary school respectively.

Mr. Krijonov has two Ph.Ds one in History and another in Sociology, each one from the University of California (Terra, Sol System); currently he is taking a break from the Scholar life and is traveling through the African Continent with his wife, enjoying life.

Mrs. Irity has two Ph.Ds one in History and another in Political Science. She received her History Degree from the University of Moscow (Terra, Sol system), and her Political Science Degree from the University of Halton (Halton, Barnard System). Mrs. Irity is married and has one child and is expecting another one shortly. Currently she is writing a book about the Political Landscape of 21st Century America.

Chapter I: Development of the “Super-States”

When we look back at the development of the “Super-States” we must remember that the catalyst for constructing these entities were part necessity (As in the United North American Federation), part reactionary (As in the Confederation of Independent States), and part retaliatory (As in the Franco-Ilberian Empire). Each “Super-State” was developed because of certain needs of the State, because of that some reasons of construction seem rational, and others seem irrational. The people of this particular time were usually motivated by two ideals, either Greed, or Fear. We must keep that in mind while we are looking at the development and unions of several different states into these “Super-States.”

For Millennia’s powers on Earth have come and gone, we have seen the Rise and Fall of Rome, the first Failed attempted at the German Reich, and the Rise and subsequent calm of the “American Empire.” But nothing in the past could prepare or hint at what would soon develop on the Political landscape of the Planet. The Human Race has been audience to an un-numerable amount of Wars, Wars of Conquest, Attrition, and Genocide across the World. Flags have been raised in victory, and lowered in defeat. The Earth has seen the evolution of the Tribe into the City-State, the City-State into the Nation State, and now we have bared witness to the evolution of a brand new Political Entity, the “Super-State”.

The “Super-State” term was coined in 2018 after a North American professor used the term to describe the United North American Federation in a Time’s article. Since that first use, professors and politicians across the globe began to use the term “Super-State” to describe the new Entities that were coming into fruition across the planet. These “Super-States” were a thing of beauty for a politician; some encompassed old “Empires” that failed back in history. Re-awoken to a new world. This world was finally ready to accept an “Empire” way of life. Other “Super-States” were born out of necessity by Nations who didn’t want to fade and disappear off of the global stage. And then there were the “Super-States” that were conceived out of Conflict; these states were born of bloody revolutions, and localized blood baths. Initially these states were perceived to not last, yet they continued right alongside of those born without the shed of human life.

The birth of the "Super-State" was instrumental in our history as an Imperium. It is said that if these Super-States had never formed, that Humanity would have never been able to reach the level we are at now. We would have been a fractured society still landlocked on that little blue planet. Even though out history is full of violence and hate, the wars and conflicts in our past, have made us into what we are today.

The United North American Federation

When we discuss the construction of the United North American Federation, we have to remember that it happened well within three parts. The first section of this Union takes place between the Mexican and American Governments, during their conflict with the Mexican Cartels. The second section of this Governmental Union happened over the course of several months. The Canadian Government began to worry over the growing closeness of their Southern Neighbors, and began to act to ensure their voice would not be lost on the North American Continent. The third section of this Union is the actions the Federal Government took to invest domestically and promote domestic business and secure the North American Future.

The United North American Federation was and is an Economic, Political, Military and Social Union between The United States, The Dominion of Canada, and The United Mexican States and their respective dependencies across the World. The first inkling of a United North American Continent came around during the early 2010s. Several factors pertaining to the Mexican-American relationship jumpstarted the Union process, these “factors” range from legislation in American Congress, to Open Warfare in Mexican Territory. We shall now devil into these factors for a bit, so we can understand just how this Super-State came into existence.

During Mr. Barack Obama’s second term in office, the Drug Conflict in Mexico took a turn for the worse, resulting in Open Warfare in Mexico’s Northern Territories. This conflict was fueled by the appetite for illegal drugs in America. The high price tag for those drugs allowed the Mexican Cartels to purchase military-grade weaponry that would even out the playing field in the running street battles between Mexican Law Enforcement and the Cartels. It was inevitable that the Cartels would eventually overwhelm the Local Law Enforcements and begin to take over whole cities. Once the Mexican Government got wind of the first city falling to the Cartels, there was no choice left. A few Companies of the Mexican Army was sent up North, the Calderon Administration hoped that the show of force would force the Cartels into submitting quickly. Unfortunately for the Administration, and the Mexican People, this was not the case. Within the Mexican Government there sat a mole for the Cartels, and they had advanced warning of the Militaries Move, and their forces were lying in wait for the Mexican Military. (See: North American Drug Wars). After several defeats, including having an entire tank platoon captured. After the several setbacks in the north were known to the public, rampant protests filled the streets of Southern Mexico Cities. Political Opponents of the Calderon Administration took this as opportunity to criticize the Government in order to hopefully cement their place in the next elections.

No amount of factorial data can show us just how much this all affected President Calderon, more than he owns words can. This is an excerpt from a letter he wrote to his most trusted General, General Juan Hilabo.

Juan…I can’t begin to tell you how little sleep I have had since last Friday…It has been non-stop protesting since we lost control of the situation up North. I hope your next offensive you have planned is successful, we cannot lose face again. I have kept that pistol loaded and on my person as you suggested. Yet I must tell you…my thoughts have turned to suicide again…and I just do not know if I can keep it together to see this through. If I do meet my end, you are to lead Mexico to her rightful future. Tear those Cartels apart….don’t let them win. I will be meeting with President Obama soon…the American FBI and DEA have been doing their part in the States…but the CIA and the Military…we need help. I will let you know how the Meeting goes…hopefully there will be a Mexico for your daughter to grow up in.

We can tell from the use of words in this transcript that the future of the Mexican Government was exceptionally grim. Yet, there was hope on the horizon. While scholars and historians usually dislike saying that one “thing” influenced the change of history, the upcoming meeting between the Mexican and American Governments would do just that. But, before we can go into detail about that meeting, we must first look at what the American Government was doing to keep the Mexican Government’s proverbial head over water, before they got involved on the Mexican side of the border.

American Government Agencies such as the ATF, FBI and the DEA and local police agencies have been involved in this conflict since the first inklings of trouble in the early 2000s. Yet, the American Society with an insatiable appetite for illegal drugs was counterproductive to any effort by Law Enforcement on the American Side of the border. Law enforcement agencies were in no position to stop the flow of Drugs and Money across the border entirely. However, the persistence of the FBI, DEA and ATF would begin to pay off in early 2010. A large series of raids during the months of January through May netted a large dent into the trafficking across the border. It was estimated that over fifty million dollars in United States Currency, and thirty million dollars of illegal drugs, and finally over fifty five million dollars of illegal weaponry was recovered by American Law Enforcement Agencies from raids in the states of Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and California. The Agencies did not know it at the time, but the fact that these raids were so successful would be incredibly helpful in passing legislation in the American Congress that would eventually lead to the United North American Federation.

Before the meeting between President Calderon and President Obama, the American Congress was enthralled by a debate about a new Naturalization Bill, which would update the process to become a United States Citizen. In short this bill proposed that any illegal alien currently residing within the borders of the United States would become a legal citizen, along with the fact that many loopholes within the naturalization process were closed, and straightened out to make the process easier for those who apply for citizenship. This debate took several days in Congress before the House of Representatives finally took a vote. Barley passing, it was a tremendous event, yet it wasn’t over. Deemed a Bill that would affect National Security, after passing in the House, it went to the Senate. Once in the Senate a heated debate took forth, Senators yelling back and forth and the first assault in Modern History of Congress took place. Yet despite all the grandstanding, the Naturalization Bill soon found itself on Mr. Obama’s desk, and without delay he signed his name. President Obama cemented this bill into UNAF history, being one of the first “closeness” bills to be passed in an effort to bring the countries of North America together in Unity.

This Bill sparked a series of parades and city demonstrations in Hispanic communities across the Nation. With the signing of this bill into law, freedom was given to those who were the backbone of certain American industries, and they no longer had to live in fear of being deported. Without that fear, they were able to receive full citizenship luxuries that they were denied for so long. These new citizens of America proved to be invaluable in the workplace, and they would prove to be invaluable again once the Union Process fully started.

While in America new found liberties and freedoms were found, Mexico was falling apart. General Juan Hilabo barley made headway in the Northern Territories and was on the verge of being pushed back to Mexico City. The Mexican Military harshly underestimated the Cartels Forces and for that, intervention was needed immediately. Hope for the Mexican people laid in the Situation Room of the White House. Because this meeting took place in the White House, there was no fear of the Cartels intervening, yet that didn’t stop them from making threats to the American Government. Threats of assassination, bombings and kidnappings fell on deaf ears, to the American Government any type of “attack” from the Cartels would only serve American and Mexican Governmental Interests, and speed up the eventual American involvement. Within the Situation Room of the White House, the fate of Mexico depended on the resolve of the American President and his Staff.

Inside of this historic meeting that would change the face of North America forever, sat a few men huddled around a Map of the Mexican-American border. President Calderon sat among them and described the dire situation facing the Mexican Government and pleaded for help. Those who accompanied President Obama into the room sat in silence absorbing all Mr. Calderon said. It was said that Mr. Obama took a long breath before he finally spoke to the Mexican President. What he said was simply, “What would you need?” At that exact moment Mr. Calderon pulled a list from his pocket, detailing what the Mexican Government would need in their struggle against the Cartels. Contained within this list was the simple request that would bring together the American and Mexican Governments. The Mexican Government was asking for total intervention by American Forces.
