The Pioneer has been sent to catch a starship that was responsible for the theft of a Starfleet Prototype Technology from Starbase 444. The Theft occured during the stations refit cycle. Starfleet has ordered that the tech be retreived at all costs.

The Akira Class, USS Pioneer sped through space, a Warp 9, following a starship. The Starship matched the description of the ship that commited the theft. The Pioneer entered weapons range and fired a warning shot across their bow.
"Attention Unknown vessal, this is the USS Pioneer, you have stolen technology from The Alliance Starbase, 444, you will drop out of Warp and prepare to be boarded" Captain Mark Thompson ordered as he stood on the Pioneer's bridge.
