TEDF Eternal Solitude - TRIAD Trade Convoy - Coredian Border
**********
Carmanth Kadesh settled more fully into his gel-chair on the bridge of the TEDF Eternal Solitude. His was a new command, fresh off the shipyards building the new Spire modules at a furious pace. There were still places in the hab sections where one could faintly smell the new construction. The Eternal Solitude was a cruiser class Spire with a double hull, catamaran style, each of the two keels measured three hundred meters long. This ship was fitted mainly as a warship, with a full third of her module slots taken by different offensive and defensive systems.
Right now the Eternal Solitude was escorting four super-freighters, each a battleship-class tri-hull design. Their massive holds were loaded with food, medicine, and basic civillian supplies. Along with the Eternal Solitude, a squadron of six frigate-class warships were tasked to defend the unarmed transports for the journey to Coredia. The convoy was using slipstream drives to cross the majority of the distance between TRIAD and Coredian space, after which they would approach the border worlds using hyperspace drives to allow the Coredians a chance to track their approch. Given the recent devistation and coup in Coredia, this precaution was enacted to prevent their convoy being mistaken as hostiles.
Carmanth sat up straighter in his seat, tail flicking idly at his side as the hyperspace window opened and they dropped back to realspace just outside the closest of Coredia's border worlds. Passive sublight sensors tracking the hours old traffic from insystem. Hyperspace signals were transmitted to any identifiable defense installations, or otherwise the most densely inhabited world. The message identified the TRIAD ships and requested instructions for entering Coredian space and where they were to unload their cargo of supplies.
