Disease outbreak in breakaway Orpalm identified as anthrax

The recent outbreak of a previously unknown disease in the breakaway Christian Kingdom of Orpalm has been identified as anthrax, a disease which has a history of outbreaks in Orpalm and its neighbours, along with Mad Cow Disease.

The disease was identified following military scientists recieving samples from a dead infected body, believed to be a male near the Orpalm/Vivean Border, which, after several tests, was finally confirmed to be anthrax.

The first outbreak of anthrax in Orpalm occured in the late 1990s, which was contained well in North-Eastern Orpalm only, though the second outbreak in 2001-2003 spread to the State of Vivean, and was barely contained in the two states following draconian measures undertaken by the federal government.

Farm in eastern Farth closed due to mini-outbreak of Mad Cow Disease

A farm in eastern Farth, one of the states which shares a border with Orpalm, has been closed following orders from the local government after a mini-outbreak of Mad Cow Disease infected most of the cows in the farm. The mini-outbreak has already killed five sixths of the cows in the farm, in a small farming village, and the majority of the remaining sixth remain infected.

"We have taken the required measures needed to quarantine the infection," said Governor Timonthy Harchester at a press conference earlier today. "We are confident that the disease will not leave that farm."

The infected cows are being destroyed following orders from the Governor, and the village the farm resides in has been quarantined until further notice. This comes just after news that an outbreak of anthrax has crippled the breakaway state of Orpalm.
