The Death of an Emperor (Open, MT)

It was approaching lunch time in Vienna, the present place of residence of the Osean Emperor. To most people, it seemed like an ordinary day and everyone was going on with their ordinary day to day routines. But in the Imperial Palace, something was wrong. The Emperor had not woken up. This was unusual as the Emperor was always up early. But no one wanted to anger the Emperor by disturbing him so they had waited.
Eventually, a servant named Maria was sent to check on him. As she got to the door of his bedroom, she knocked on the door. After a long period of waiting without any responce, she entered the room. The Emperor was in his bed and he looked very pale. Fearing the worst, she approached him and checked to see if he was alright. He was not breathing and there was no pulse. Sadly, she left the room to inform the rest of the household of the News.
Alexius I Habsburg, the Holy Osean Emperor, was dead.
OBC News
Today, a great tragedy has struck our nation. The Emperor has died. Sources say that he died peacefully in his sleep. The day has been marked as a day of public mourning for the dead Emperor. His funeral has been planned to occur two weeks from today.
On a somewhat lighter note, we are happy to announce that preparations for the Coronation of the Emperor's son, Crown Prince Joseph, of the House of Habsburg, are fully underway. We hope that his reign will be long and prosperous.

THE REPUBLIC OF PARILISA
Dear Prince Joseph,
I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your father, who was a man I deeply respected. As a leading figure of an alliance my nation almost went to war with, his representatives did their best to keep the peace through diplomacy, rather than the weapons preferred by his colleagues.
Whilst I will not be able to attend either the funeral of the former emperor or the coronation of yourself, I wish to express my sympathy and well wishes throughout this difficult time.
Now might not be the best time for such matters, but I believe your reign could herald a resurgence of relations between our nations and I would like to engage in talks with you whenever you wish. I believe that the upcoming months may be difficult ones for both Parilisa and Osea, and only through mutual respect and cooperation will we beat back the darkness which now seeks to smother our happy liberty.
Yours Sincerely,

I, like all Volzgradiens, am deeply saddened at the recent passing of your father. While I did not know him personally, I have heart a great deal about his fine deeds as the head of your nation and I hope that he may rest in peace. Under my orders, all flags in Volzgrad shall be flown at half mast for the next 24 hours in memory of the former Emperor. I unfortunately am unavailable to attend the funeral myself, but I do wish you and your family my greatest sympathies.
On a more optimistic note, I am more then willing to attend your coronation as the new head of state of Osea. I hope that your reign will be as prosperous and great as that of your father's.

Joseph had been dealing with the situation in New Chalcedon. This, along with preparations for his Coronation, meant that he did not recieve the latest batch of messages, untill late in the day. In the room with him were his wife, Anna, along with a number of aides that were to write down his responces as he dictated them.
"The negotiations went better than I expected" Joseph said to Anna, while reading the various messages. Anna simply replied "I think they could have gone better. But at least, the preparations for our Coronation are on schedule. It also looks like we are to get more foreign attenands than we had expected". She quickly added "I've had arrangements adjusted for them. The Coronation will go without any problems, I can assure you of that". Joseph again replied "Well, it seems we are going to start our reign on a high. Let's hope it lasts". He then turned to the aides and began dictating his responces.

Soon the day for the funeral had arrived. The attendees were all send messages informimg them of the travel arrangements. First, they were to arrive at Vienna International Airport. From there, Limosines would pick them up and they would be taken to Schönbrunn Palace, where all the people attending were to meet up. Joseph, along with members of the family were there, all appropriately dressed for the event. They would then travel with the body to St. Stephen's Cathedral, where the the body would be put to rest.
OOC: I ask those attending the funeral to begin posting their arrivals now.
Vienna International Airport
After the Oseaton Airways 747 landed and the rolling staircase met up with the plane, President Zackary Hamilton stepped out of the plane, clad in his black dress uniform that was adorned with medals and campaign ribbons as well as the 5 stars that went along with the rank of Field Marshall. Behind him stood C. Allen Gates, The Foreign Minister of Oseato, also dressed in a Field Marshall's uniform. Together they descended stairs and entered the waiting limousine.
The two men chatted lightly while they enjoyed the ride to the palace, however each was slightly uncomfortable with the situation. With the collapse of the CIS fresh in the memory of both men, they were unsure of how relations would carry on between Oseato and the soon to be Emperor, Crown Prince Joseph. However, for the time being, they would focus on the matter at hand, the funeral and remembrance of Emperor. They would also stay for the coronation and hoped to meet with the Crown Prince at some point during the trip.
When the limo arrived at the palace, both men put on their caps, stepped out of the limousine, straightened their uniform coats and prepared to enter the palace.

From: 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain, CinC of The Military Federation of The Wolf Hold
We will be arriving shortly, I was already airborne at the time of sending the invitation, it is only a simple matter of diverting from our current flight path to pay our last respects to a great man.
An Hour Later.....Vienna International Airport
The Wolf Hold delegation arrived in what amounted to their equivalent of Air Force One, a Airbus A380, painted black and crimson with a wolfs head motif stretching along its flanks and underneath the motif in bold red letters was the word "Wolf Hold" Behind that came the C-5 Globemaster carrying the vehicles for the delegation. It was several minutes before the convoy which consisted of a armoured Audi Q7 SUV as the vehicle transporting 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain and Leftenant Wolf's General Furness to the palace, in front and behind the Q7 came two Dodge Magnum 8SRTs, carrying the personnel guard for Cain and Furness and then leading and brining up the rear the convoy was a modified Jeep Cherokee, almost identical to its civilian cousin with the exception of the 50 calibre heavy machine gun nest, mounted on the roof.
As the convoy pulled out of the airport the four F-15SEs that had been flying escort for the delegation landed on the airstrip behind them. Ten minutes later the convoy was pulling up near the palace, avoiding the Noordeindean convoy and parking a bit further up. The commandos and other security personnel piled out and dispersed following the instructions of the Osean authorities.
The two Wolf Hold delegates stepped out of the car, 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain an man in his late forties, well built for someone of his age although his hair was just starting to grey. He stepped out in full dress uniform, a black blazer with several medals pinned to both his right and left sides, breaches with a blood red crimson stripe down the centre, black combat boots shined to a mirror finish and underneath the blazer a reddish shirt with a black tie, to finish off the uniform a black beret with the Wolf Holds Militaries crest on the peak placed on his head and his ceremonial side arm, a chrome plated desert eagle with an emerald and sapphire crafted together in the shape of two intertwined wolves. Leftenant Wolf's General Furness stepped out next to him, wearing exactly the same uniform, except her pistol had the jewels crafted in the shape of two rocket holding wolves. Furness was one of the youngest generals to ever reach a position of such power, she was only 27 and she was in command of the NDC or Nuclear Deterrent Command, she was basically in charge of every nuclear weapon in The Wolf Holds arsenal. Her rise to power so it where had nothing to do with her looks either, albeit her red hair and a body that would make a professional porn star jealous she had risen to the position through command skill, courage under fire and quite a bit of ruthlessness. Whilst some may wonder why she had been brought along, she had been in command of several CISM troop deployments and had dealings with ex-CIS nations before, hence why Cain had brought her, partly because he wanted some company and partly because she herself wanted to pay her respects to the emperor herself.
As they waited for the new emperors attention, they looked about the palace. It made Furness quite nostalgic, she missed her comrades from the other CIS nations, the last time she had been here was for the leaving party that had been held by the Oseaton officers Lt. General Irving Dowling and Admiral Philip Becker so all of the CISM high ranking officers could have one last big piss up and a make sure they all stayed in contact, as they had been a pretty close knit bunch.
Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna
As the limousine carrying the Oseatons entered the palace courtyard, Joseph and his family were informed of their arrival by their house servants. So, as Zackary and Hamilton stepped out of the limousine, the Crown Prince walked out the entrance with his wife and a small group of aides and down the steps towards the Oseaton President.

His wife, Anna, was dressed in a similar manner. As it was a funeral, everyone's clothes were dark colours, mainly black.
Once he reached Zackary, he tipped his hat to the man and said "It is a pleasure to meet you, President Hamilton".
Both Hamilton and Gates bowed slightly as the Crown Prince spoke, as was Oseaton custom. Behind them the junior members of the Oseaton delegation did the same. Hamilton was the only one to speak. "The pleasure is all mine, your Highness. I was deeply saddened when I learned of the passing of your father. He was a great man."
Behind him, Lt. General Irving Dowling nodded as he heard the Field Marshall speak. Being the former CIS liaison for the Federation, he had spoken with several Osean officers and men during his time, and had found a great deal of admiration for their emperor. He smiled to himself as he thought back to his memories of his time with the other CIS officers. Though he made sure to mask the smile, as this was not the time nor the place for such things.
However, he had some difficulty controlling his face as he caught sight of the Wolf Holdian delegation arriving. He immediately recognized 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain as he stepped out of his vehicle, and it was hard to forget the striking young woman that was accompanying the Wolf's Marshall. As he caught Lt. Wolf's General Furness' eye, he winked, before turning his attention back to the Crown Prince and President Hamilton. He made a mental note to talk to greet her when it was appropriate to do so. He also hoped he could meet up with members of the Osean military while he was here. While the CIS was dead, the friendships between the officers were not.

Grand Duke Ivan III and his retinue made their way from Vienna's airport to the Schönbrunn Palace for the Emperor's funeral. Ivan was looking forward to the chance of mingling with other nobles and rulers at what he was sure would be a grand event.
As they rode towards the palace in a limousine, the Grand Duke's mind drifted back to all the problems he was facing back home. He had the Islamic separatists and the Communists starting to act up again. Then, he had the Catholic Church trying to usurp his power, and he also had to deal with his disgruntled and rebellious brother who was also looking to snatch away Ivan's throne.
"We're here Your Excellency," said an assistant's voice, jolting Ivan from his thoughts.
"Good, good," he replied. The Grand Duke had been an a serious drug and alcohol binge over the last week and a half and was still recovering. He had promised himself that he would not drink or do any drugs while at this funeral, but he was already feeling temptation calling. He certainly could not do anything publicly, after having banned all drugs and alcohol in his own country saying in his speech that they were "tools of the Devil." All his vices were kept strictly secret for that reason and, more importantly, because his many political enemies were just waiting for the moment to catch Ivan slipping.
The Grand Duke stumbled out of the limousine, steadied himself, and began approaching the palace. He quite enjoyed funerals, they were certainly always entertaining events. Time to get in character Ivan, he though ti himself.

The luxury-model Airbus A380 was an impressive sight, and a display of the Empire's wealth and power even in the midst of her civil war.
Especially when one remembered that she was there to carry one man and his aides to a state event of (by Imperial standards) high but not critical importance.
Alexios Doukas was waiting patiently for his plane to finish landing, where he would no doubt be greeted as he got off.

Emperor Alexander Kavinkov II lurched forward drunkenly as the massive tires of the Bombardier Global Express aircraft touched down on Osean ground for the first time. The flight had been a surprisingly short one, a blessing for the usually air-sick Kavinkov. He had been inspecting Volzgradien troops stationed in the colonies, and his travels had brought him quite close to the Empire of Osea. Naturally, Emperor Kavinkov had not come on to the coronation alone. In the spacious cabin of the private jet, Kavinkov was nearly surrounded by 20 of his Sovereign Guardsmen. The stark white lighting of the aircraft made their jet black greatcoats and gleaming, polished silver armour gleam almost blindingly. Each was armed with a long, ebony furnished K-75 Rifle (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?showtopic=6095). While the gleaming gold and silver attachments made them look gaudy and ceremonial, they were still very powerful weapons. Kavinkov was similarly dressed, though his chest was bedecked in almost double the medals and decorations compared to his companions. On his head lay perched a traditional black Volzgradien "Kvarka" peaked cap with glittering gold decorations. In the inside pockets of his double-breasted greatcoat, Kavinkov had concealed two matching revolvers and at his hip clattered the scabbard of his saber. While he doubted things would get violent, it always paid to be prepared.
As the aircraft slowed and came to a complete stop, Kavinkov rose quickly and scurried toward the door. In nigh perfect unison, the Sovereign Guardsmen lifted themselves from their padded leather seats and followed their Emperor closely. Kavinkov was, obviously, the first to exit the plane and nearly charged down the ramp to the inviting tarmac of the airport. The heavy lift aircraft that carried their vehicles had already unloaded its cargo and ahead already stood their 3 Armoured SUVs and Kavinkov's ceremonial armoured limousine. The Emperor hated the thing, but for the purposes of formality he allowed himself to be driven in it. By now all of the Guardsmen had disembarked and they already began to enter their assigned vehicles. Kavinkov followed closely after and briskly entered the limousine along with 4 other Sovereign Guardsmen.
After a few minutes of trivialities with local officials, the Volzgradien convoy of vehicles set off for the coronation ceremony. In Kavinkov's opinion, Osea was quite a beautiful nation from what he could see. Over the 35 minutes of the drive, the Emperor had little better do to then gaze out at the surrounding area through the ballistic glass of his limo.
The Volzgradien Convoy arrived almost exactly 41 minutes since touching down, a speedy commute most certainly. Kavinkov and the Sovereigns exited their vehicles swiftly and took up a military-like formation in the grounds of the Osean Prince's Palace.
"Sovereigns! Attention! Shoulder Arms!" Kavinkov roared like an irate drill sergeant as he stepped forward. Without a moments hesitation, the highly disciplined troops stood rigidly still in perfect parade ground over, their gilded rifles perched firmly on their palms and shoulders. Kavinkov turned and began to march toward the door. Forty-one booted feet hit the cobblestones simultaneously as the Volzgradien Emperor and his entourage advanced to greet the Prince.

Alexios was indeed greeted as he got off. But it was grander than he likely expected. The group included a number of important people and was headed by Nikita Osterman, the Minister for Foreign Affairs along with a number of other diplomats.
Oddly a number of Navy men were there, including Grand Admiral Niketas Trithyrius, the commander of the Osean High Seas Fleet. It would be clear to Alexios, with the presence of such an high ranking Officer from Osea's Senior Service, that they were paying extra attention to him.
Nikita was the first to speak "Your Highness, it is a pleasure to meet you. I hope your trip was pleasent?".

Cain nodded to his Oseaton counter part and offered him a large smile before turning back to the crown prince. "My condolences on the passing of your father he was a great man and I am sure you will live up to his name." Offering his big hand to the crown prince. Meanwhile Rebbeca Furness wandered over to the Oseaton officer that had caught her eye, it was Lt. General Irving Dowling, a good friend of her from the CISM High Command, they both had been deeply saddened by the dissolving of the CIS, yet she knew she had rather fond memories of the final party the officers had held, vaguely remembering the last part of the night in which she spent in the arms of a man who looked very similar to him, might even been him. Coming up behind him and tapping him on the shoulder, "Long time no see Irving, how are you now a days?"
As the two of them talked with the other delegates the security teams they had brought with them began forming up into squads, ensuring that there weapons were ready and loaded. Whilst they were here for a funeral and coronation, the 33rd Mechanised Infantry, the division tasked specifically with guarding the high ranking officers of the Wolf Hold, recognisable as they were the only unit permitted to ware a dark crimson beret and they only had one uniform, a black and white digital ACU, to signify that where ever they were they were prepared to act and fight no matter what. In total there was in total forty-two members of the 33rd present, seven squads of five soldiers each, with the other two soldiers manning the 50cal mounts.
They watched carefully as the Volzgradians pulled up, there was no cause for undue worry as The Wolf Hold considered them allies, the troops were also equally impressed by the skill of the troops drill and unit cohesion, however they were not about to be out done, even though they knew they could easily defeat such a unit, on the principle that normally soldiers who spend enough time to get to that level of drill do not have as much combat experience. The officer in charge, Captain Skoll simply muttered into his radio "All Hitman two sierras, formation!" It would appear that no order was given as the forty men took up a parrel position to the Volzgradians and snapped to attention, rifles slamming into an upright position. The seven squads clearly defined by the different badges on their shoulders, all moved seamlessly. The cohesion gained after many conflicts in which they have had to depend on each other to save their collective lives.

President Hamilton smiled as he responded to President Roosevelt. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. President, Mrs. First Lady. I myself am doing fine. I hope you two are the same." He spoke before he returned 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain's smile and acknowledgment, quickly turning his attention back to President Roosevelt.
Meanwhile, Irving turned to look behind him as he felt the tap on his shoulder, recognizing and remembering the voice, and remembering several other things about the last time heard the voice. "Long time indeed, nice to finally see you again, Rebbeca." He smiled. "I've been doing well, nice cushy job High Command post now. Can't even command my own corps anymore. How about yourself?"
Meanwhile, several members of the Oseaton Black Guard, highly trained soldiers who protected high ranking members of the Federal Government and military, as well as performed special operations, watched with a smile on their faces as the two different groups from Volzgrad and The Wolf Hold went about their motions. While the Oseatons were small in number, dressed in the same black uniforms as the Field Marshalls and the Lt. General although without the name tags, they didn't need showy rifles or high firepower to get the job done. To them, the drill steps were something for ceremonial troops, not for troops dedicated to the protection of their country's leadership. In any event, they enjoyed the show and hoped no one got upset over the displays. Last thing needed on this day was a full blown international incident at the funeral.

"Company...Halt! At ease!" Kavinkov yelled again, stopping at the exact same moment as the twenty Sovereigns behind him. He turned and faced his men, a thin smile on his face. The full, bright sun made the armour of his Sovereigns almost blinding to gaze upon. While the glorious uniforms they were now clad in were fully ceremonial, the Sovereigns were equally impressive in the drab khaki and field grey fatigues that composed their true combat uniform.
"Excellent." Kavinkov declared quietly, briskly saluting.
"Glory to the Empire!" The column of Sovereign Guardsmen roared as they returned the salute. They were the finest soldiers Volzgrad had to offer, and by God did they show it. Even the most junior Sovereign had at least 5 years of combat experience under their belt, and indeed the greater majority of them were veterans of many, many conflicts both around Volzgrad's sphere of influence and far abroad. While their gaudy ceremonial dress and complicated drill routines gave the impression of amateurism in combat, each Sovereign was more then a match for any of his less esthetically impressive counterparts. Kavinkov turned, content and proud, and approached the imposing form of his ally, 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain. The nations of Volzgrad and Wolf Hold were firm allies, and it was only proper in Kavinkov's mind that he get acquainted with their leader.
"A pleasure to meet you in person, Wolf's Marshall Cain." Kavinkov said as he saluted yet again and held out his hand to the leader of Wolf Hold.
King Robert I stepped off of the plane that had delivered him from Takaram and looked around. He quickly stepped down to the tarmac and into the waiting limo. Two Takaram Guard stepped into each of the blacked out SUVs behind or in front of them, and the convoy took off toward the palace. As soon as they arrived, the King stepped from the vehicle, and walked into the building. As he looked at the assorted crowd, he recognized several of the heads of state of several nations here.

In the background, the guests would notice the arrival of a number of troops, the Imperial Guard each in elaborate uniforms, in the standard grey colouring of army uniforms. Nether the less, they looked impressive in their uniforms and each of them were holding an AK-103s, which were clearly well kept. The Guard didn't make an elaborate show of themselves, but instead kept in the backround, ready to protect the Osean Sovereign from any threats that popped up unexpectedly.

"It's nice to meet you too Ma'am" Inclining his head to the couple, as the two Oseans turned away Cain spoted Emperor Alexander Kavinkov the leader of one of The Wolf Holds firm allys, Volzgrad. He had always wanted to meet with him and now he had the chance. Returning the salute and shaking the mans hand, "It is a pleasure to meet you in person as well, for some reason the leaders of good allies rarley get the chance to see their counter parts" He said with a smile on his face as he jestured down towards were the troops were assembled. "It appears that our troops are trying to show off, some of the best from our nations and they still act like children, trying to prove they are better."
Meanwhile Furness' smile was growing bigger and bigger with every moment she was with Irving. "Aww, did they take away your Corps and give you a desk job? Poor, poor soldier" She said teasingly but with no hint of malice in her voice, "Me however, well I can't harm to tell you.." Moving rightup to Irving and whispering in his ear "They made me head of the NDC, I command ever single Wolf Hold nuclear weapon from here to Wolfograd." Taking advantage of their cloness, Rebecca wraped her arms around Irving in a tight hug. "I have missed you...."

The Rechburg Boeing slowly cruised to halt at the Osean airport, the flight from Rechburg was extremely long (South Pacific), but as Duke Blaise stepped down he felt as relaxed as if he had boarded merely an hour or so ago.
The Duke was accompanied by his National Security advisor Admeral Jochiam Ney and 4 security men. The Duke decided that has a mark of respect and assurance of confidence he would not be escorted by squads of heavy booted security people, for him it was important to show he felt he was amongst friends.

"Indeed, our nations have been through much and yet we've never met face to face until now," Kavinkov replied as he began to search for something in the confines of his greatcoat. He looked over at the mass of troops assembled, both Volzgradien and Wolf Hold, and smiled at Cain's comment. "I am inclined to agree with you Wolf's Marshall, but let our troops flex their egos on such an occasion."
At last, Kavinkov managed to find what he had been searching for. With a slight tug of effort, he withdrew a large black, gold trimmed blade scabbard. Calmly, the Emperor withdrew a one and a half meter long, gleaming saber. In the sunlight, the weapon's extensive, double edged blade and golden hilt were almost blinding to the eye. With practiced ease, Kavinkov flipped the sword so that it's wolf-head style pommel was facing Wolf's Marshal Cain.
"I have been meaning to give you this gift for some time, Wolf's Marshall Cain. Consider it a gift for the strengthened relationship between our two, glorious nations." Kavinkov announced proudly, "It's a Volzgradien Lord Marshal's Saber. Made from the finest metal alloys and given the keenest edge possible for a sword."
Dowling smiled dimmed somewhat as he responded, wrapping his arms around Furness. "And I you, which made it more difficult to lose the Corps for the desk. First you, then my beloved troops, in a span of days." Dowling brightened up quickly. "However, I'm glad for you. Seems like a proper position for a woman of your disposition. And, as I recall, the ISTO Joint Military Command is headquartered in Wolfograd, perhaps I'll make a few visits."
"You'll be making more than just a few visits, I'm afraid General." spoke Field Marshall Hamilton as he walked over toward the couple. He had noticed them standing off to the side after he had excused himself from the other diplomats and heads of state and had wandered over. "I was going to wait to inform you, but this seems like a better time. You're being promoted to full General, and being placed in command of the 3rd Shock Army, which is in the process of moving it's headquarters to Wolfograd." Hamilton smiled as he spoke, he wasn't sure whether he should condone the relationship, but it was better that the allied commanders be friendly than be at odds with one another.

"Maybe one day they will be able to prove the fighting skill to each other, as so many of our troops have done before." Cain stood and watched as Kavinkov brought the excuisite sword and scabbard out of his greatcoat. The scabbard alone would of been enough, Cain had always had a fascination for swords, probably because most of his life focused around firearms of some sort he needed something to escape to and had found that something in swords. As Kavinkov withdrew the sabre, Cain ran an appraising eye up and down the length of the sword, taking every single crafted detail.
"I must say, this is quite a gift" Clasping the pommel in his hands, getting a feel for the blade. "I am honoured to accept this gift, also I have something for you. To cement our nations friendship" Tapping something in his ear "Wolf Leader Tyr, get up here please"
"Solid copy, moving" From down where the troops were assembled, one of the black and crimson clad soldiers sprinted up the steps, his L85A2 clasped in his hands. Reaching where Cain and Kavinkov were standing he offered a salute to both of them. "Wolf's Leader Tyr reporting sir!"
"Very good Tyr, take this for a moment" Passing the sword to Tyr, he reached down and underneath his jacket, un-doing a previously hidden holster, pulling out the platinum and gold plated desert eagle 50AE. On the pistols grip were the two jewels a ruby and emerald crafted together to make the image of a wolf with an eagle soaring above it. "This is a ceremonial pistol of The order of the Wolf, presented to only those who have earnt it like Leftenant Wolf's General Furness over there, or honoured friends like yourself." Flipping the pistol around, offering the pistols grip to Kavinkov.
Whilst this was going on Furness was enjoying her re-union with Dowling. "I'm sorry I couldn't stay in touch, the NDC was on full alert after the dissolving of the CIS." Not wanting to let go just yet, she had to when Dowlings superior approached. Jumping back and snapping to attention. She listened to Hamilton’s announcement, the smile growing on her face growing wider by the seconded, for as of yesterday evening the NDC had been officially been relocated to Wolfograd. "We will defiantly see each other then Irving."

Kavinkov gently took the exquisitely decorated pistol from Cain's grip and began to examine it carefully. It was most certainly an impressive firearm, and it was quite clearly made my a true artisan gunsmith. The beautifully decorate grip of the weapon was particularly impressive due to the excellently carved images of a wolf and an eagle.
"A fine pistol, most certainly. I have personally always preferred revolvers, but this Desert Eagle might just change my perspective on things." Kavinkov replied with a tinge of excitement in his voice. "To be perfectly honest, I was not expecting a gift in return. So your gift, Wolf's Marshall Cain, has caught me by surprise in a good way."
With a smile on his face, Kavinkov returned the Desert Eagle to its holster and placed it on a spare holder of his greatcoat.
"Again, it was a pleasure meeting with you Wolf's Marshall Cain. Your gift is most appreciated and it shall be given a place of honor in my armory." Kavinkov said as he shook Cain's hand once more, "And may the alliance between our two nations remain as strong as forged steel."
Hamilton smiled as he sketched a salute to the young couple and slowly walked away. He spotted Wolf's Marshall Cain and Emperor Kavinkov, having never met either of them personally, the Field Marshall headed toward the two men, leaving Dowling and Furness to talk amongst themselves again.
Dowling was left rather stunned by the announcement. He hadn't been expecting the promotion or the new command. He was glad that he would be able to command again, although he would probably never see actual combat again. He was also joyous for the fact that he would see Furness at the same time. He suspected that he would be in for quite a few more surprises as he tackled the issues of commanding an army, but smiled at the prospect of how things could turn out.

"I know it shall, however call me just Cain, there should be no need for such formalities between friends. Also I think I will place this saber on my desk to show the long lasting friendship between our nations" Straightening his beret once more as he gazed over his men, taking particular interest in the fact that Furness was re-kindling with some old flame by the looks of it. Pointing the two officers out to Kavinkov. "I wish I could be that young again"
He was about to make another comment when Joseph announced that they would be leaving soon, nodding to Kavinkov "We should get moving, I will see you at the funeral, friend" Doing a sharp military turn, he tapped his ear piece twice. "All Hitman one victors, we are oscar-mike in one mike. Get ready to move" Below by the Wolf Hold convoy the troops jumped up and mounted their vehicles, the 50 cal gunners raising their weapons high and the security troops mounted up.
Cain's radio squawked "Hitman one is ready to go oscar-mike, over" With that Cain headed for his convoy.
