Newscaster) Hello, and welcome to Mewsland News Tonight, broadcast throughout the universe on a frequency of 444.44Mhz. It is stardate 2559.57, and the space weather is, as always, beautiful for Mewsland. However, nature revealed its darker side today in the Kardon system of the Mewsland Galaxy.

Mew) I am President Mew Mæow II of the Federation of Mewsland, broadcasting from Kardon V, where we have set up a temporary government center in the wake of this disaster. The volcano, Mount Cassandra, exploded today just outside of Mew Falls on Kardon IV. It is estimated that five million people are dead, and over three billion more will be displaced or killed in the coming days. The explosion is so large that it is of a magnitude not seen in millenia. Due to the amount of matter being ejected, the pollution of our atmosphere will take at least one year to clean up. We ask that all space-faring nations can come to our aid in this troubled time. Thank you.

Newscaster) In other news, scientists predict that the mountain will not return to its dormant state for at least three days. Let's head to the weather....

The Ode to Joy dropped back into normal space. Commadore Langley was back aboard the ship and when they had heard the news they had scrambled the ship, and the Valiant and The Enterprise, who had attached to the Ode to the system.
As they approached the system Elizabeth hailed.
"Mewsland, this is the Starship Ode to Joy, we are here to offer our assistance"

Mew) Commodore Langley! I knew that if anyone would come, you would. And thank goodness, too. Mew Falls is almost buried in ash. There are still over fifteen million people down there! We will need help getting them out.

"Ode, all ships, set condition Red for Search and Rescue" Elizabeth ordered "Move into postion over the planet, standby all transporter rooms, engineering modify Cargo transporters for Bio"

The Ode, Valiant and Enterprise entered orbit of the planet and began to beam people up. Dozerns of Shuttlecraft were also launched

Mew) I hope they can find them all.

The Vessels IGRPS Rescue and IGRPS Mercy dropped out of Hyperspace with orders to assist the Mewsland Government in any way possible

Mew) Pennsylvanian vessels: Assist our fleet and the Battlehawk vessels in the evacuation of Kardon IV.

"Roger that, launching Evac. Craft now"

"Helm move us into syncounus orbit" Elizabeth ordered "Stand-by phasers, pre designated pattern"

The Voyager approached the planet, but she was in a far different configuration. The warp engines were gone, replaced by evac pods as large as the impulse drive would allow. The stardrive was also different, replaced with yet another evac pod. Only the saucer remained of the primary configuration. The vessel was in her evacuation mode.
