Another bright and sunny morning after torrential tropical rains always made Queen Mayumi cheerful. Her siblings were also joyful with the sunshine.

"Good morning, your grace." An advisor bid with a bow.

"Good morning. Ms. Asako, I think I want to throw a party."

"A party, Your Majesty?"

"Yes. I see nations like to throw parties to better acquaint themselves with the world, we've been out of isolation for a year and we've only come close with a few. I want to meet more."

"Of course. As for your little siblings?"

"To young. I'll put them to bed that evening like I always do and I will mingle with our guests."

"Very well. Food?"

"Mmm, food...Well I don't think the usual rice dishes will be appropriate, but we have to be mindful some may chose not to eat meat or other products. So make a well diverse buffet for all lifestyles."

"I'll call upon our finest cattle ranches and nutrition specialists, your grace."

"We don't want to many people here, it get's crowded and dangerous. So I say limit 15 nations, no more than three delegates per country."

"Three per country. No more than 15 countries. Check. What else your majesty?"

"We should give our guests a gift bag, a thank you for coming. Oh and if any wish to spend the evening in Mizth-Sonika, I want the The Grand Plaza Hotel to be completely empty that night."

"Yes, empty. And we should work out security work."

"Oh my of course. Well I think nations will be more willing to attend if they bring their own security. Okay, Limit 5 guests per country, including security detail. No automatic weapons. We'll have the Army keeping secure."

"Revising to 5, no automatic weaponry. Wait, large or small?"

"Large, small is fine."

"Small is fine. Very well. If there is nothing else, I will go print these invitations right away."

"Oh, Miss, make sure to give special invitation to Mokastana and AHSCA."

"Certainly." She ran off to the printers to get them out right away.

"Erm..fair enough, as long as it isn't like that peace conference"

"Sir! Yes! Sir!" Snapping another salute, spining and walking out the room, a reply was sent three hours later

I and two of my comrades would gladly attend your party, our group will consist of myself Wolf's General Fell, 1st Wolf McMarn and Wolf's Air Marshall Larka, all three of them will only be armed with their serivce sidearm and there will be no other security detail acompnying them off the plane. They will be arriving by a C-21A, however due to recent events we askt that you allow the aircraft to be escorted by two F-15E multi-role fighters to provide escort to and from your nation. These aircraft will only be armed with air to air weaponry and will follow all of the commands given by your traffic control staff.

With the evening setting in the palace was cleaned top to bottom to meet her Majesties expectations. The flags of the guest nations were fluttering with pride from the flag polls. Everything that was being done to make sure they would feel welcome would. Mayumi was having it easy. With the best staff hired by her late father she knew everything was in good hands. She was still putting her siblings to bed which was a routine for her. With out their mother or father, they were in her care.

"Wash behind your ears now."

"Yes, big sis. Can't we attend the party?"

"Not this time, Yuri. It will be a grownup party and it goes very late."

"Okay."

"Hey don't worry, next time we have some special guests, you will be all welcome to join me." She resumed cleaning her little sis.

After putting them all into bed she was dressed in her lovely royal kimono, given her crown and was escorted to the ball room balcony, where she could see the guests from a bird's eye view.

Samantha Smith stood at the entrance to the palace, dressed in black T-shirt and black cargo pants, barefoot. She took her hand out of her pocket long enough to scratch her ear. It was a nice enough shack, she decided, if a little ostentatious. It might have been more appropriate in a book of fairy tales than on a tropical island.

She scratched her ear again and wondered if maybe she had picked up some kind of bug in the water.

Sam wondered if she was in the right place. No welcoming committee? It served her right for hitch-hiking, she guessed. The old man with the truckload of melons seemed to know where he was going....

She shrugged, folded her arms across her chest and leaned against a pillar to wait.

The C-21A banked right and pointed towards the runway of the main airport of Mizth-Sonika, the two F-15SEs flying along its wing tips. As the C-21 came in for a final approach the F-15SEs held their orbit over the airport, awaiting for instructions from the air traffic control on where they were ment to land as the pilots knew that military jets in a civillian airport may cause a fuss.

"This is Raptor 1-2, Federation cargo is on the deck, requesting landing instructions from ATC Staff, over"

Meanwhile the plane carring the Military Federations personel pulled into a lay by, wondering if they should pull up to a terminal or there were other arrangements. The pilot also radioed the air traffic control for instructions.

"This is Recoil to ATC, requesting arrival details"

President Oscar Montravel shuffled the papaers he had been reading and placed them in a briefcase before leaning back into the cushioned leather seats as the Lear Jet prepared for landing. He sighed contentedly at the thought of not having to work for the next few days (okay only really tonight, but he could dream). He glanced over at his companion for the evening, Elizabeth and saw that she too was putting away the laptop she had bought, in preperation for the night ahead. Oscar looked out the window at the rapidly approaching Mizth-Sonikan soil. The sun was glistening on the tropical paradise that lay before him and he smiled to himself as the plane bumped gently onto the runway. He could tell this was going to be a fantastic evening.

As the car pulled up to the palace Elizabeth let out a gasp at the building. It seemed to be actually glowing from the inside out. She stepped out of the car, radiant in her figure hugging formal gown she'd had made specially for the occaision (even though it had cost half a months salary). Oscar followed suit, nodding in admiration as he got a proper look at the Palace. He offered his arm to Elizabeth and they walked together in what they hoped was the general direction of the ballroom.

A large plane with the Red Star of Mokastana landed easily into the International Airport of Mizth-Sonika. The military escort fighters diverted off to land at the military base where the Migs would be allowed to land and refuel for the meeting. Inside the plane sat Nicolas Villa, President of the Federation of Mokastana. The role had quickly become more of a ceremonial role ever since the government restructured to fit more then 12 billion people in it.

Across from him sat Shino and George Villa, leaders of AHSCA, another close ally of Mokastana who they had nearly gone to war over once. Luckily war was avoided apparently minutes before Red Tide would have ordered missiles away.

"Sorry once more that Charlie could not make it, he had pressing issues in Alfegos, the Union is having a conference and there are only so many of us to go around."

Sitting next to him was a Generalissimo named Alexander Franshaw and his wife, Anita Franshaw. The remaining members of the Franshaw line, a family who had contributed everything to the rise of Mokastana and asked for nothing in return. Due to a conference, the Mokan guest had to be changed at the last minute, and Nicolas asked Alexander to take his brother's place.

"We will touch down soon and on the runway will be three Chevy Suburbans from the embassy to take us to the party. I hope everything is ready."

A member of the staff told the room.

With Shino's special invitation it was noted no young children. So she left Marcella with the capable hands of her fellow chief from Corona. Now her and her husband George were in Mizth-Sonika, a country that was ready to help AHSCA against brutal enemies if needed. Fortunately they were going to meet for the first time in a time of peace, instead of war. Having on her best dress from her husband she and her Husband George entered the ball room, where a few delegates had already gathered. Shino bid hello to some of her fellow country leaders.

"I'm Shino Villa, I'm from AHSCA, and this is my husband, George Villa."

Sergei Ivanovic had always been eager to explore the world, at least, following the ascension of The Family to control over Daranen, but he feared that his proposal to take himself and his family to this tropical gala wasn't going to work out, due to his criminal background, but he had sworn to lead a ruthless and brutal campaign against the Mafia, so wouldn't the Mizth-Sonikans not mind him and his family attending? Besides, Daranen could use a new friend, because no one else really seemed to give a damn. The Motokatans could be dealt with by Vilinovic anyways. As Sergei sat at the dinner table that night with his family around him, his smile widened. "How would you all like to go to the party in Mizth-Sonika?"

Natasha clapped her hands together like some little girl would, her eyes sparkling with delight while she unleashed the pearl white teeth that became somewhat iconic in a demure grin. "It would be a pleasure to attend. I'm sure the children wouldn't mind attending....."

"If Svetlana wasn't fourteen then she wouldn't be able to attend, unless I was able to convince the Mizth-Sonikans that she wouldn't pose any problem at all, well, any significant problem...." Sergei jested. His daughter banged the table with a grin and laughed, trying to think of a counterattack upon her old man. "Oh, Dad, I'm not that bad......I'll do my best to not cause so much trouble," she said in playful sarcasm.

"I wouldn't mind attending. It'd be nice to see the outside world, meet new people, the whole shebang." Vasily said while cutting some meat upon his plate, "and I feel that I can watch Svetlana while you two have fun. After all, you're national icons, leaders."

Svetlana cringed while Sergei chuckled. "Oh, son, I'm sure you wouldn't need to watch Svetlana. She's a well mannered lady who I'm sure will do us proud, like you will."

When the day came for the Ivanovic family to take up the tocsin of jubilation and head to Mizth-Sonika, a message already being sent to the Queen, Sergei decided to talk to Petrovic about the security measures to be taken while he and his family were away on "personal business," whatever it was that you wanted to call it.

"You can rest assured that Daranen will be safe and secure," Petrovic said with a sadistic grin upon him, as if he was eager to lead the fight against traitors and other undesirables. Of course there was a chance that it could happen, but Petrovic doubted it would. But it could.

"We Fatatatutians don't like to waste the taxpayers' money on perks like private aircraft. We'll usually take a military flight, but in this case, my brother's boat was on its way out on patrol, so I hitched a ride. Frankly, I expected to paddle ashore, but we ran into half a navy out there and we decided not to risk putting an inflatable in the water."

Her brother would have been amused at the 'we', as if she had had any part in the decision. But it was her story and she'd tell it her way. Besides, he was a lieutenant in the Navy and she was a captain, albeit an honourary one, in the Army. Never mind that Army captain and Navy lieutenant were roughly equivalent ranks. She'd still use it to tease her brother.

"If there is any infection", she added absently, "the Fatatatutian coffee would have killed it."

Oscar and Elizabeth walked into the ornately decorated room and looked around. There weren't many delegates here at the moment. A few well dressed men and women who seemed to all know each other and a rather dishevelled liking young lady standing by the bar. Elizabeth excused herself from Oscars presence and went over to her.

"Excuse me. Im sorry if I seem rude but are you alright? You seem to have had a rather rough journey if you don't mind me saying."
