Beep... Beep.. Beep A slender object emitted on all known com. frequencies, its form was smooth and small nearly a featureless oblong shape, the only thing that was upon its greyish skin where the markings of the United Terran Federation.

It Flew in to a distant part of the galaxy several thousand other probes behind it in other sectors and areas. It was part of a new project known as project path finder. Path Finder was an effort by the Terran Federation Scientific community to fully map areas of the galaxy using tens of thousands of advanced probes with long range sensor’s and optical viewing.

The Probe continued on its way sending out signals after signals attempting to attract attention to it self its small modest and insignificantly small form was silhouetted against the backdrop of million of stars their white points glinting in the distance.

Several Thousands of light years back in the alpha quadrant QE signals where being received from the probes with live video feeds. The Terran Federation Space Probe Agency ( TFSPA) Command center was established to monitor and deploy these probes Throughout the galaxy. The FIA and Military Intelligence communities where also interested in this as they had installed classified military recording equipment in to them.

Several intelligence experts, scientist, and political figures where clustered around the massive well lit command center monitoring the first feeds and activations of the probes, cheers rang out throughout the facility , holographic and three dimensional images of space, stars around the probe, and visual images where all being broadcasted, thousands upon thousands of holo projectors being recorded. Newsreels via drones and sentient avatars where present and recording every thing.

Senator Martha Kellington was on hand to announce the project. She started with a diplomatic and a professional tone.

“It is a wonderful day today for science, and knowledge, today we are at the cusp of learning to understand every thing around us no matter how big or how small, huge wafts of space that where once unknown are no longer unknown, Project Pathfinder will clear the way for explorers manned ships and even colonies to distant parts of the galaxies. This Is a safe way and one of the best ways to explore and map sectors of space, information is flooding in to the centers computer cores, anomalies , rifts, portals any thing and every thing you can imagine, information on local systems and races being gathered by long range sensors. I present to the galaxy the Path Finder complex, where we will embark on the new frontiers and limit of science and knowledge starting with these probes ”

Of course the pathfinder complex was also a massive Research center dedicated to dimensional, sub space, advanced anti matter research, Every thing from the latest theoretical physics of the day to improvement on existing technologies.....

(Ooc: feel free to snag one of the probes, basically you can make contact with my nation that way)

What is that noise?
What noise?
You don't sense it? Its kind of a blump no a beep.
We are not detecting anything like that at the moment. Do you need a refitting Master?
No, we received one only a month ago, are you sure you don't sense it? We can't seem to get it out of our minds.
That is rather serious one moment.. ah.. Is that better?
Some, now its only a minimal throb.
Well the good news is, we have pinpointed what is causing it.
Well?
It is outside this Sphere and we are moving to intercept.
You mean get closer to the blasted noise? Are you mad?
No but we fear that if we do not eliminate the noise then you will soon be.
Maybe, carry on.

A number of green lights activated on the surface of the blacken Sphere, the twenty fifth constructed by the Technonaut Collective as it made a midcourse correction to bring it closer to the noisemaker though it would still be several minutes yet before it could destroy or otherwise turn off the noise...

The Technonaughts would find the USS Samurai, the Excellsior Class ship on a Long Range exploration mission, had ocme across the transmission and had followed it back to the Probe. The ship had scanned the probe and was deciding wether or not to tractor it into the ships hanger bay.

“Captain, we’re picking up an unusual signal.”

Commander Andrea D. Phillips, Republic of Lynx Navy, CO of the light frigate RLS Clara C. Fry, looked across the small, cramped bridge at the man operating the sensors console. He looked back, silent in his ceiling-mounted chair, and then gestured to his console. Phillips leaned forward in her own seat and tried to see what was on the man’s screen. Yes, even from here she could see the stream of data that indicated something unusual was broadcasting out in nearby space. The question was what could be making unscheduled broadcasts clear out here?

“Can you source-trace it?” she asked. The crewman threw out a series of coordinates and Phillips nodded. It was fairly close, he said, and seemed to be moving too. That meant it was probably a ship, or an unmanned system. Phillips sighed. SOP now required that she change course and investigate, try to learn what was making noises. That would extend the cruise by as many as a few days, and the crew didn’t like having to stay out beyond the planned deadlines much. Neither did Phillips, to be honest. She wanted to go home, see her children, sleep with her husband, and hang out with her friends, not hunt out noisemakers in deep space. She sighed again. There was nothing to be done except go ahead now.

“Helm,” she said to the young woman seated at that station. “Plot an intercept course, normal cruising speed.”

“Aye, aye, Captain,” the crewwoman replied, and with seconds Phillips could feel a low rumble coming up through the decks as the main engines and maneuvering thrusters flared, enacting the course change. Meanwhile, she pressed a button on the arm console of her chair, and a recorded voice was heard through the ship.

“Action Stations, Action Stations, all hands go to Readiness Condition One.”

Readiness Condition One basically required the shutting of a few hatches normally kept open, all crew to don skin-suits, though not necessarily helmets, quick checks on all ships weapons, and so forth. Basic readiness was standard in these circumstances. It was probably unnecessary, but, a little extra preparedness couldn’t hurt. Phillips and the on-duty bridge crew did not move from their positions. They already had the skin-suits on, standard RLN regulation.

“Helm,” Phillips began as she stood up. “Notify me when we are within visual range of the signal source.”

“Aye, aye, Captain!”

Phillips nodded, double-checked her suit’s helmet in its place secured to the ceiling above her, and then leaned back to wait as the ship, which looked for all the universe like an enlarged, futuristic Space Shuttle, sailed on in search of its new prey.

OOC:

Whether or not my ship is encountering a new probe or the same one you have will be up to the person behind this thread. I'll post more as soon as I'm able.

P.S. Keep in mind, please, that Lynxan ships presently do not operate very great distances, relatively speaking, from Lynxan space.
