Dastin City, Garmidia

The man from Meqchistan drove his Mercedes Benz car down Profit Drive. He had music on, loud, and the windows of the car fully up. He knew exactly what was going to happen, when, and where. The black tint of the windows of his car made some people on the street curious. This was the last few minutes of his life, and theirs.

He crawled his car up to 12 Profit Drive. This was a large commercial sector within Dastin City and housed the largest Mall in Garmidia, the Dastin City Mall. The target.

The car made a slow turn as it drove down the driveway and in to the car park.

There were about 45 other cars in the undercover car park. The man from Meqchistan turned the music off, looked into the back seats of the car and started at the large bomb planted in the back seats.

ATTACK ON GARMIDIA

A large explosion at the Dastin City Mall today, identified as a terrorist attack perpetrated by government supported Meqchistan terrorists, has killed over 310 people in the deadliest terrorist attack in Garmidia's history. The attack has rocked the nation and the world and imminent action is expected. It is thought the reason behind the attack is the Meqchistan long running feud with Garmidian forces stationed in a small peacekeeping operation in Meqchistan that is against the Mechqi government.

Garmidia: Garmidia is a generally smooth nation, with mountainous regions in lower Garmidia. The type of government is a Constitutional Federal Democracy, and Head of State and Govt. is Sam Philips. Garmidia has just recovered from a massive war, and these terrorists have kicked us when we're already down.

Meqchistan: Meqchistan is an arid desert land with huge mountainous regions on it's borders, where many, but not all, of the terrorists are believed to be hiding. The government is a single-party dictatorship, and has been for the past 17 years. Garmidia entered a very low level peace keeping operation there in 2006, because some Meqchi government supporters have killed civilians and pro-democratic supporters.

Garmidia's President, Sam Philips today has announced Operation Trinity Glare, an offensive military action against the government of Meqchistan. Although not officially commenced, it is expected to start within the next 48 hours, following the deadliest terrorist attacks in Garmidia's history where the death toll has risen to over 500. Sam Philips is expected to make an address to the nation shortly.

The Kingdom of United Anacreon has captured 30 heavily armed Meqchistani citizens preparing to bomb the Garmidian embassy in rebuilt Arsenna.

In response to this event the newly elected Prime Minister of United Anacreon, Michael James-Hsu has called for an immediate meeting with former ORNA leaders in Arsenna.

United Anacreon is one of Garmidia's closest allies but was recently facing an insurgency in the now allied Dominion of Cape Salisbury.

Vamperial Kingdom News

"It was announce earlier today that King Taishi Ci and several military advisor's had decided and came to a conclusion to dispatch forces to the troubled Garmidia which has recently come under attack by terrorists. It's know that the Meqchistan were involved with the attack," started a female's voice over the radio. "In response to the attacks, the Vamperial Kingdom Navy and Special Forces are to be sent to act as support and maintain air superoirty over the battlefield. Little is known who is taking command but it is expected that they'll be among the best the Vamperial Kingdom has to offer," contiuned the voice. "In other news elements of..."

The radio was turned off as Vamperial Grand Admiral Headmaster Lee King looked across the bridge of the aircraft carrier Valiant. He watched for a moment as a mass fleet of warships were preparing to wage war against terrorists with a newly formed Spec Ops. Lee didn't know much about them but he did knew one of the commanders. His name was Revan and just Revan. He doesn't have a surename or he doesn't want to say it.

Commander Revan was part of a highly trained Black Assassin's known as Shadow Assassin's. Unlike the Black Assassin's, the Shadow Assassin's were trained in urban, gurellia, jungle and forest warfare. They were also trained by a number of retired Gurkha's which explains their capabilities of beating the Black Assassin's. Unlike the Black Assassin's, which numbered close to a division strong, the Gurkha's were only the size of a regiement and only a platoon were of 'Elite Status'.

"All ships, prepare to make sail," ordered Lee over the intercom as he turned around to come face to face with Revan. "Bloody hell," snapped Lee as he jumped out of his skin. "Don't you knock?" he asked as Revan stood in front of him silently.

"We perfer the shadows and we lockpick any lock we come across," replied Revan as he lowered his mouth guard.

"Sure..." replied Lee as he noticed the lock on the door was picked. "Just make sure the boys are ready to go. We'll pick up a company of Black Assassin's along the way,"

We gladly accept all and any help offered by your nations. We ask that you please deploy your troops as part of our buildup in Meqchistan-neighboring Azilistan, which is one of our allies.

Our country has heard, via the Garmidian news services, that terrorists from Meqchistan have attacked your nation. These terrorists are disgusting people who do not deserve any form of life, much like the Stalinist rebels in Smaloan, one of our country's many counties.

This taskforce will consist of one Invincible class aircraft carrier, three Fridtjof Nansen class frigates, the 1st Regiment of the Kunglig Norberdian Äktenskaplig Spädbarn, or the Royal Norberdian Maritime Infantry, along with a platoon of KNAS Commandos, the special forces branch of the maritime forces.

There is no way that a country of your size would be capable of supporting a navy of ~1000 ships.
Also your numbers for your armed forces are way too big for your size, your armed forces should be 5% to 10% of your total population maximum, and even then they would be badly trained and mostly conscripts.

Onboard the aircraft carrier Flagship Valiant

"Sir, we just arrived in Garmida waters," reported in Captain Harkens as Lee nodded in reply.

"Inform 10 of Spades to begin recon exercises and have the armour brigades prepare for a landing in allied nation," ordered Lee.

"Will be done sir," replied Harkens.

The order didn't have to travel fast as Harkens sent a runner down into the hanger's. 10 of Spades, Matthew King, was talking with other pilots over the new Unmanned Fighter Crafts (UFC) that were going to be sent over. The other aircrafts were being checked by engineers as the order was given to Matthew. Matthew was 20 years old and had already gain a squadron of his to command which was unusal at such a young age. He glanced over at Hunter, second in command to Matt, before turning around to the UFC he was leaning against.

"We'll send one out to do a basic recon over the nation," started Matt as the squadron looked at the UFC.

"We'll need to send one without armments," Hunter suggested as others argeed to it. "Makes it look like less threating,"

"Send one to do a recon so we can get a basic view of the land," ordered Matt.

A UFC was loaded onto the elevator on the side of the carrier as it was lifted onto the flight deck. The crews pulled the UFC onto the flight deck, cleared the deck before the engines roared to life. In another part of the carrier, a controller was preparing to have the aircraft take off. The UFC took off from the carrier and headed over towards Meqchistan in order to recon the nation out. The objective would give points about terrian and possible locations of enemy installations.

"Commander," started a runner as he handed Lee a detail telegram from Lynscert Island.

"Excellent," replied Lee. "Let's find an enemy airfield and make it our objective if we're to get our main course into the war," ordered Lee as the UFC changed objectives to finding an enemy airfield.

Tutlingburg to Deploy Troops to Meqchistan

Prime Minister Browning announced to Parliament yesterday, the deployment of the armed forces to the troubled country of Meqchistan. This deployment is in direct response to last week’s deadly terrorist attack in Garmidia, the death toll of which has topped 1000.

In a late press conference the Prime Minister justified the response, saying, “Tutlingburg can no longer ignore the threat Meqchistan poses not only to its own citizens, but to the world at large. At this critical moment we must stand by our Allies and defeat this terrorist threat.

Sources in the Department of Defence say that Tutlingburg will deploy forces from all branches of the Military, although the amount of forces to be deployed has yet to be determined.

"My fellow Garmidians. Some three days ago, our nation was horridly attacked by terrorists from a foreign country. They have killed over 1000 innocent people in an unprovoked attack upon the soil and citizens of our nation. Garmidia, will not stand for this. We have no choice, but to order the full scale invasion of Meqchistan, who supported and harbored these terrorists, and to replace the government of Meqchistan, responsible for the training, equipping and financing of these terrorists. We will not stop until our goals are complete. But not only are we the ones to be facing these terrorists in battle, we wish to thank our allies of Operation Trinity Glare, who will be standing beside our soldiers in combat. My fellow Garmidians: Garmidia will not, has not, and will never tolerate any such acts upon any nation and such action will be regarded as an attack on freedom and will be met with severe consequences. First a long flight from Tutlingburg, then unloading the vehicles off the C-5’s and forming up, then finally driving to the rally point and setting up camp for the evening. Now most of the brigade was sleeping, not knowing the next time they might have a chance to rest. The Commander was having a briefing with all his squad leaders, informing then about the upcoming operation.

Meanwhile, an SR-71 penetrated Meqchistanian airspace on a recon mission. It main objective was to survey enemy amour strength along Main Highway 102 from the border to the small ocean-side town of Port Lituan. After that was done the Sr-71 made several passes over the town itself. Port Lituan’s importance lay not only in its deep water harbour, but also three bridges, in the middle of the town, which were critical to the Allied operational logistics.

Secure deep water harbour.
Protect bridges from enemy assault.

If successful our naval units should be able to stay just outside Port Lituan harbour, and commence operations against Meqchistanian. We are open to any suggestions you may have.

To: All Operation Trinity Glare Commands
From: OTG Garmidia Command

All nations involved, and those wishing to join: The Garmidian Air Force has begun bombing of Meqchistani targets. We obviously strive to attack only military, government and terrorist strongholds. Ground invasions will begin 900 hours tomorrow. This is a massive shock and awe campaign. Naval bombardments are also underway. We advise your troops do not enter anywhere in between Main Highway 89 and Main Highway 102. IEDs have been placed by the terrorists on these highways and they will be struck by our planes. In between, the area is being bombed also.

Holy Empire of Anemos Major: Your request is accepted, welcome aboard.

Our goals for this Operation:

Remove the Government of Meqchistan.
Gathered intelligence proves they support and finance the families and bombers of the terrorist group, Meqchistan Armed Brigade, that pulled of the attacks on the Dastin City Mall.

Remove the terrorists from Meqchistan.
Not only have Garmidian families been terrorized by this assault, but Meqchistani families are being terrorized by the Meqchistani government day in and day out.

Establish an allied presence in Meqchistan.
This will help curb the way to democracy for the people and government of Meqchistan.

Hold democratic elections in Meqchistan.
Let the people decide their own government.

God Speed,
Jack Flaw
Secretary of Defense

Meqchistani Airspace, Meqchistan

"Roger that Viper-12, releasing load." The Garmidian Air Force jet flew over Meqchistan and dropped 5 bombs. On the ground, A government convoy was destroyed. All around Captain Rick Harland, hell was breaking loose. It was bright in the afternoon as bombs and missiles were dropped all around Meqchistan. To the left, the distant sea line was filled with allied ships as tomahawks and other arrays of missiles left their decks and slammed in to Meqchistani targets. Jet fighters, Bombers flew everywhere as they released their weapons of death onto the ground below.

War.

It had been a lucky break for both the Anemonian 2nd MER and the Garmidians; the fleet, being a reaction force, had been out at sea when they received the order to disengage from training exercises with the neighbouring Kingdom of Mayaqoo, resupply at the Democratic Republic of Arkura and move straight to the nation of Meqchistan in order to assist in the neutralisation of the government there, which had supposedly been funding terrorist attacks into its neighbours. The Anemonian government had been seeking to expand its' overseas operations once more since the entire fiasco surrounding the death of the former High Lord, and here was a perfect opportunity.

The 2nd MER's three Wasp-class Amphibious Assault Ships, complemented by an escort including DDGs and FFGs, as well two 'Fire Support Ships' cruised at high speed towards Meqchistan. A P-3 Orion from the Fleet Aviation Reserve would fly overhead until it was forced to return to base to refuel, and then the Fleet would be on its own.

Or would it?

Ahead of the fleet already, a large formation of C-130 Hercules and C-5 Galaxy transports carrying a combination of airborne troops, light tanks (M8 AGS) and equipment including everything from rations and gear to weapons and Anemonian High Moblity Vehicles headed for Meqchistan. The Airborne would insert into enemy territory a day before the 2nd MER made their landing, clearing out enemy positions behind the coast to ease the Marines' path forwards and would then act as both a recon force and a light aassault unit for the duration of the campaign.

The operation name? Wyvern Fall.

BREAKING NEWS

Garmidia Announces Beginning of Operation Trinity Glare

As we come to air tonight, The Democratic States of Garmidia has officially announced the beginning of Operation Trinity Glare with the coalition bombing of Meqchistani targets. We cross live to our correspondent currently just outside of the main bombing zone of Meqchistan, the Al-Muarafi Hotel in Bamzag, Meqchistan.

"Kieran, can you hear us?"
"Yes... yes I can."
"Tell us what's going on."
"Well Jason, right now there is massive noise from outside the hotel. We are only some 500 meters from the main bombing sites of Meqchistan and I feel very unsafe, but I'm here nevertheless. Outside, there is chaos. There is major anti-aircraft fire, aircraft fire, major explosions as bombs go off. It is now 7:00 at night and believe me, the operation has not just started. It has been going on since about 12:00 this afternoon. We have only just received official word from the government."
"Is it just air bombing?"
"No, it appears missiles are being fired from seas as well."
"What about the other coalition members?"
"Yes, it also looks as if there are coalition aircraft and naval ships as well."

We will bring you the latest as we get it.

WMBN Update

GARMIDIA AT WAR

It's now official -- Garmidia and has been at war for some 5 hours now, with a major air bombing campaign, and the ferocity of that campaign has not yet scaled back in those 5 hours. Our correspondent in Meqchistan, Kieran Jacobson has been evacuated from his hotel, so we can not cross live to our reporter in Meqchistan but we do have some pictures as the operation unfolded during the day and night.

Picture 1 (http://www.kaichang.net/images/2008/03/19/shock_and_awe_2.jpg) | Picture 2 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/nol/shared/spl/hi/middle_east/03/story_of_the_war/img/400s/05.jpg) | Picture 3 (http://knowledgerush.com/wiki_image/e/e6/Bagdad_02Apr2003_L7_889px.jpg)

It is clear that Garmidia is not 'going soft' on Meqchistan as we can see the force of the Military as they conduct their major shock and awe campaign over Meqchistan. There are no reports of any ground attacks yet.

Good day,

On this 15th of May, we have been informed of your operation with fellow coalition troops to create a stable government, and bring peace to the land of Meqchistan. We fully support your attempt to allow them a bright and hopefully peaceful future, and wish to aid you in this great crusade.
Daiwizian carrier group Vladimir is standing by, and ready to assist yours, and fellow coalition members, forces. Along with Vladimir there will be 4100 men of 3rd Brigade, 4th Morskoye-Soldat,((Loosely translates as Sea-soldiers, or Marines)) and 175 vehicles with 1500 men of the 1st Regiment, 1st Brigade of the Tanketteh corps. We shall also have various aircraft available as part of the carrier group.
Hopefully we shall be able to remove this hostile and unstable government quickly, cleanly, and with minimum bloodshed on both sides. If the terrorist forces should resist, we will be willing to respond with force of arms, and shall not hold back. Our forces are currently en route, and await the security codes to transmit to your's, and your coalition's, vessels.
We have been informed that you have begun your air bombardment of the Maqchistan government's buildings. We hope, and pray, that your pilots and guidance systems perform to the best of their abilities, and that the only loss of life is of terrorists, and government members who support said terrorists. We fear that we shall be unable to take part in this opening bombardment, and so wish you the best of luck this early in the campaign.

There was a massive buildup. Hundreds of thousands of troops from separate countries, all bound together to fight off Meqchistani terrorists.

Ground invasions were imminent. The air bombing campaign had stopped some three hours ago, and now it was time.

The order was given at 11:40 AM on the 16th of May for the ground forces to begin their assault. The ground forces from Garmidia started rolling in Meqchistan.

Garmidia began it's ground operations. Fast, speedy attacks would be necessary. A Shock and Awe ground campaign was underway. From the main border, some 500,000 Garmidian Army and Marines stormed into Meqchistan using the fastest possible speed they could, as well as their allies. Only some 100 planes were flying over Meqchistan, dropping bombs on the last remaining anti-air and most of the armor positions set up by the Meqchistani government. The Meqchistani's were no match for the allied force.

GARMIDIA AT WAR

President Sam Philips about to announce ground operations underway

President of Garmidia Sam Philips is about to hold a press conference in the Dastin National Building, most probably about a start to ground operations in Meqchistan, we cross live to the press room now.

"Okay, ladies and gentlemen, Here is the President of Garmidia."

The President walked to the podium.

"Good evening. No longer than one hour ago, our ground forces were given the order to invade Meqchistan. This comes after the shocking terrorist attacks on Dastin City on the 10th of May, and a one day long massive shock and awe bombing campaign against the government and military of Meqchistan. This has shocked the government of Meqchistan to the core and our objectives are closer than ever.

I want to talk to you about our main objective: Remove the terrorists and government from Meqchistan. The government of Meqchistan, a religiously fueled political, psychotic and corrupt dictatorship, has supported and financed these terrorists in pulling of executions, assassinations and bombings. We will not stand for this and nor will our allies who are braving the seas, skies and lands of Meqchistan with us to take a stand against this illegal and immoral government. Whole families have been killed by these terrorists and government because of their pro-democratic stance. That is horrid and absurd and the international community will do something about it, which is why, one hour ago, I ordered our ground forces to Meqchistan, under Operation Rolling Steel.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we will be successful. These terrorists are no match for the might of our forces, for the might of our allies, for the might of Operation Trinity Glare. They will be removed, crushed and destroyed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we will be victorious.

Thankyou, God bless you, and God bless our soldiers and our allies soldiers."

OOC:Holy S%$# you guys are really making certain that you outnumber them, aint ya? I'm being a peacekeeper, sending in a small force of troops. Oh, if you want my help, I can be of assistance with the wiki page. Already got my own profile, and have been working on my nations page. I'm taking a bit to get this together cause pizza is here lol.

IC:

The sun shone brightly overhead, and a pair of gulls circled around the communication's masts of the 38 USSDM ((Navy)) vessels speeding towards Meqchistan homeland. They left a massive wake behind them, which threatened to overturn the already nearly overladen transport ships carrying the heavy weapons, vehicles, supplies, and ammunition.

Aboard the USSDMS Daiwiz, Vladimir, and G'rk it was a bustle of activity, as crews for various planes and helicopters hurried to their various craft. While the air assault had already happened and been done with, there were still numerous targets of opportunity for the USSDV ((Airforce)) to blast out of existence so as to cover the ground troops landings.

Above Meqchistan airspace

"Get ready to jump! 10 seconds!" Came the cry of the jump sergeant in the door of the C-43 Super-Cargo (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=23). "You'll be jumping 10 miles from the expected enemy location, so remember to open your chute only a few thousand feet from the landing zone! Good luck! 3 seconds! 2! 1! Go!" And with that the green light came on, and 32 Ketsnatz soldiers streamed from the four doors set along the length of the plane.

Daniel Smirnoff was one of these Ketsnatz. At age 27, he was a Webel Soldat commanding a patrol in the Ketsnatz Air Squadron. A sniper by trade, he joined the Ketsnatz when he was 23, already an Oberst from being in the FalschirmSoldat. This would be his first combat jump. Swallowing a bump in his throat, he took the step out the door, and into the wintery blast. It was time to see the colour of the enemies eyes.

On the front lines...

"Looks so lovely," whispered Revan to Amos as the pair quietly joined their platoon.

Unlike the allied forces who had other orders, Revan had special orders to take an airfield in order for the deployment of Hurricane Gunships to arrive to give support for the men. However, it wasn't just for the Hurricane Gunships but also to gain air superority over Meqchistan. There was also bounties on enemy officers which require the head of the enemy to be returned to the commander in order to collect the bounty.

"Sir, our flyboys are going to start attacking an airfield," whispered Amos as the platoon silently swept across the front and into enemy controlled lands. "Commander Phoenix will be landing his platoon onto the battlefield shortly,"

"Excellent," replied Revan in a whisper as the platoon spread out and headed towards the airfield.

In the skies

A squadron of Dingo Fighter Jets, 12 UFC, 4 Hunter Bombers and 2 Cyclone Bombers flew in battle formation as they begun their attack run over the unsuspecting airfield. If the mission was a success, it would become a stanging point for the new assault forces into Meqchistan for the Lynion Forces.

First, Tutlingburgian air units had crossed in into Meqchistanian airspace in order to clear Main Highway 102 and the town of Port Lituan of enemy armour and personnel. In this mission, the air units were largely successful, destroying one armoured brigade heading south to intercept Tutlingburg ground forces, and catching two infantry brigades out of position, north of Port Lituan, leaving both the route to Port Lituan and the town itself unguarded.

The second part, of the Operation, was the ground forces moving to capture and hold Port Lituan. They had left the departure point at 0305 and an hour later where entering the town, unopposed.

“Command to all units, begin phase two. Eyes and Ears people. Although Port Lituan is clear of heavy amour, intelligence reports groups of Meqchistanian infantry are present in the town. Take any and all precautions to protect your commands. Good Luck and Godspeed!” With that the convoy split up, Sierra Group, composed of 35 LAV’s and 30 HMMWV’s, and continued on Main Highway 102 toward the center of town. Tango Group composed of 5 LAV’s and 10 HMMWV’s took exit 32 towards the harbour.

Port Lituan Harbour Entrance #4
0420 May 17, 2009

Tango Group had reached the harbour without any enemy contact. Major Monaldo had found it odd, but wasn’t about to complain. He had to secure this harbour ASAP and permit the navy to come in, and help the Allied effort.

“Tango-3 take point, and we’ll follow you in”

“Roger.” Tango-3, a LAV III, started in slowly its gunner looking every which way, looking for a target. Meanwhile in a three-storey office building 125 meters away, ten Meqchistanian soldiers lay in wait, armed with two RPG’s and the rest with standard AK’s. The men waited for the perfect moment as the LAV approached.

Tango-3 had no chance. The driver saw the flash, tried to turn, but the two RPG round in the nose, instantly killing the driver, gunner, and two soldiers. The LAV ended up on its side, on fire. The rear door had broken off in the roll, but escaping soldiers were pinned by fire.

“Tango-lead to Command. Tango-3 is down, I have RPG and rifle fire from an office building on site, engaging” Two other LAV’s raced to cover the downed vehicle, as another went to remove the wounded. 25mm cannons began to return fire into the building, as men disembarked, and ran into the building. Ten minutes later, the firefight was over, 2 Meqchistanian had been caught alive, but injured. The rest of Tango Group took defensive positions in the harbour.

“Tango-Lead to Command, Harbour is secure, repeat, Harbour is secure. I have 4 KIA. I have 6 men injured and 2 POW’s injured as well. I request medical EVAC.”

“Tango-Lead, Roger, sending a Allied heli to your loacation.”

OOC: I would like for one of you to send the EVAC heli, mine are still at sea. Thanks

"This is Medical-Lynx 7 responding to a medical evac," started the pilot of a Medical Blackhawk as two more formed up behind him.

The three Blackhawks were inbound due to being one of the cloest allies in the war. There was a fourth Blackhawk but it was keeping at a distance since it bought a squad of Black Assassin's to make sure nothing went wrong. Of course, the harbour was under allied control but they still had little knowledge of the enemy was capable of.

"Medical-Lynx 7, this is Tango-Lead. You are cleared to land, we have marked out a landing area for you." Major Monaldo watched as the blackhawks, pivoted and began to land. A fourth blackhawk hovered over the scene, providing overwatch. A Lynion corpsman ran over to him and his men began ferrying the wounded and dead to the blackhawks.

"What do we got here?" The Corpsman asked.

" I have 2 dead, six injured, two critically. I also have 2 POW"s with non-life serious gunshot wounds." The Major replies bitterly.

"Alright, we'll take them to the nearest field hospital. Good Luck Major!" He said as he went back to the choppers. Within 5 minutes the balckhawks rose back into the sky, and flew off. The Major decided to contact command.

"Tango-Lead to Command. EVAC complete. Orders?"

"Command to Tango-Lead, you did good son. Now you just have to hold for 24 hours, our Naval forces should arrive by then."

"Roger, over and out." The Major watched the sun rise over the ocean, wondering what surprises today would bring.

OOC:I'll be sending more troops later in that case. Assumed there were less, and figured I'd be peace keeping rather than major fighting. I will attempt the mountainous region. Also, do you mind if I attempt to help you with the wiki page? Shoulda asked this earlier lol, sorry bout that. Expect another IC post in the morning. Might I suggest giving us a map? I'd be willing to make it, just TG me the description of it. Ie, major cities locations/names (those you really want) the pop of the country, the shape, wether it's an island or coastal, terrain type, etc. Anything that you don't care much about I will fill in. G'night from Canada!

OOC: I'll make the map for you and It'd be great if you helped with the wiki page. I had to write this entire one myself. (http://wikistates.outwardhosting.com/wiki/War in Anacreon)

The map wont be of real world countries, either. It's a coastal, arid desert land, also. I'll get right onto the map.... and bordering countries will have to be made up as well. My next IC post will be the demographics etc. of Meqchistan. Saying G'night to ya, from New Zealand!

Oh, and remember: The major fighting isn't the only bit of the RP, after that, you can scale back your troops to a peacekeeping sized-force after the major combat is over.

And, finally, I'm going to add all of you to: This wikipage later on. (http://wikistates.outwardhosting.com/wiki/Foreign relations of Garmidia)

Shock and Awe: Ground Operations or Operation Rolling Steel had been going on for some 6 hours now, with effective results. Large pockets of terrorist resistance had been encountered in the early stages, but a major loss for the allies was yet to be seen.

Lieutenant Jack Garrison of the 29th Platoon were in the middle of the allied advance. They had been sent to fight in Temmin.

Night fell on the city as the platoon and other major forces advanced toward the city. They were on small hills overlooking the city. Artillery support rolled onto those hills and troops began amassing on those hills. Highway 67, the main route to Temmin, was cut off by the Armed Forces at 11:30 PM in preparation for the assault on the city.

The city had already been bombed by GAF fighters and bombers, but large resistance pockets remained in the city.

IC: Two Hours later

20km into Meqchistan, 2km from Waypoint 'Sigint'
"2 LT, take your squad east. Cover our advance along the road towards Sigint. Captain, the armoured complement... how many M8s do we have right now?"

"We've found two and their crews, sir. Ready to rumble."

"Good. Take them and take our six. The rest of the men... 46 men? You're under my overall command, but split into squads led by the usual commanders."

"Sir."

"Yes, sir."

There was a rustle in the nearby bushes. Immediately, the airborne troops turned, their rifles aimed, and the M2 gunners on the M8 systems swivelled their machineguns to face the said bushes.

"Who's there?" muttered the major in command of the small detachment.

"Garitsei Byrdanotsyr." Gluttunous Bastard... which meant...

"Major Arytinsyr. Nice to see you. Have you picked up the 73rd?"

"Therons! It looks like you've found your men. Good, good... Yeah, I've found my detachment, plus a group from the 78th. Apparently we're the only ones who used Morse at the rendevous."

"The rest of the group was dropped further inland. They've probably encountered enemy activity."

"So?"

"They've got M8s as well; they'll be fine. How many M8s have you picked up?"

"Four. We have a fifth, but the crew's missing."

"I think Sergeant Kalondyr is qualified to drive light armoured vehicles. Kalondyr!"

A tall man with a sergeant's insignia on his right shoulder came forward. "Sir."

"Can you drive an M8?"

"Yes sir. Spent three months at the Cavalry School in Myrstirei before I was transferred to the Airborne. Got the rudimentary qualifications."

"Great." Turning back to Major Arytinsyr, Therons said "Kalondyr can drive the tank until we find the crew. Does anyone know how to handle a gun?" Nobody replied. "Great. Yrnots, Fekar, you've just volunteered. Get in and learn."

"Sir."

"... Understood."

"God. All right. Arytinsyr, have you taken an inventory?"

"Only of weapons."

"Same here. We've got four mortars..."

"Three here."

"Ok. But I have three snipers and five marksmen, so that should be enough."

"Pretty much." There was a short pause, then Therons checked his watch. "One minute till the assault begins."

"Assault?"

"We've got the 65th, 67th, 68th, 71st and 82nd on radio. They're mounting a coordinated assault, and we're taking the road."

"Mind if I join?"

"Not at all. Send your tanks to support ours, and your infantry can take the left flank."

"Done." Aritinsyr moved off, waving his men around and Therons turned to his adjutant. "The road isn't mined, but I'm seeing resistance about 500 metres in. Be prepared. Use the AT weapons if it turns into a loud encounter, but otherwise... stay quiet."

"Of course, sir."

"Good luck."

"Same to you, sir."

A soldier crawled over to Therons and murmured "They've given the signal, sir."

Therons beckoned his men forwards, the AGS systems crested the hill they were on, onto the road, and the war began.

15 km from Timmen, Meqchistan

"Sir, reconnaissance shows major enemy activity in Timmen. Should we begin, sir?" A nervous soldier from 29th Platoon asked his commander, Jack Garrison.

Garrison looked through his binoculars for a moment. The lights of Timmen twinkled.

"Do it." Garrison said solemly.

Within 1 minute, every artillery position on that hill began to unleash it's load on the city. Puffs of smoke appeared in and around the city.

"Ground forces are a go, sir." The same soldier repeated.

"Good." Garrison folded his Binoculars and led his platoon to their military convoy trucks that would lead them down the main highway and in to Timmen. At the same time, jet fighters were dispatched to begin more bombing of the city.

80 Black Assassin's (Spec Ops)
200 Lynion Rangers (Regulars) - preparing to para-drop
100 Lynion Hunters (Marines) - preparing to para-drop
1 Armour Brigade - preparing to come in by sea

The entire navy and airforce on standby to be use as support.

The target is to take an airfield/airport/city that is close to the coast to use as a staging point for the upcoming Headquarters for the Lynion's. We use hit and run tactics, disrupt supply lines, assassinate key leaders (break their chain of command), hit key military installations and wage a gurellia war against the enemy. I'm using small elite units to take on the enemy. So, it's sort of like the Australian and British SAS operations they did during the Iraq War and Afhganistan war except on a slightly wider scale.

Shadow Assassin's are based on the Nepel Special Forces Gurkha's.

IC:

Smirnoff hurtled through the skies, the icy wind whipped his hair around the back of his head like a second helmet. Off in the distance, the C-43 quickly dissappeared from sight into the cold night air. With the wind speeding past his face like a tornado, he barely heard the confirmation that all his troops were out of the plane. It appeared that he was all alone in the sky, even though there were probably several others within a couple hundred meters. Well, time to be the first on the ground. He quickly brought his legs and arms into straight lines, and shot through the air towards the ground like a bullet.

He glanced at the atlimeter. Just another 1000 feet to go...And....There. He quickly gave the rip-cord a tug, and felt the parachute open up with a bone jarring jerk. Looking to the West, he could see their target, HQ-#1. They had to secure the landing zone, so that the other C-43's could bring in the rest of the troops, the heavy weapons, and the vehicles. 100 feet...50 feet...20 feet.... He hit the ground with a thud, ending up on his backside. Quickly tearing the parachute off, he reached for his AK-113 (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=35) only to find it was gone.
"Damn, must'v come out in the fall," he muttered to himself. He pulled out his pistol, cocked it, and began to burry the chute.

A few minutes later

He put the last shovel-full of sand over the chute. Hearing a sound, he turned around with the gun pointing in the direction of the sound. "Graith," he whispered. Waiting a few seconds, his finger tightened around the trigger. Then came the reply.

"Dr'klow," said a voice. A man appeared from behind a sand-dune, dressed as a Ketsnatz. He was carrying an AK-113, resting upon his shoulder, ready to fire. "Sir, glad I found you. I've found seven of our guys, we're setting up the HQ in an abandoned hovel." He whispered, eyes sweeping around.
"Good to hear from you Bryan. Let's go." Smirnoff replied, giving the sergeant a pat on the back.
"Sir, do you have a weapon?" Bryan inquired as they slinked in the direction of their HQ.
"Just my knives and my pistol."

They made good time, and soon arrived at the hovel. Already several Ketsnatz were coming in, drawn by the signal on their GPS's. A few of them were already setting up wire traps, mines, and sandbag bunkers. From within the hovel many voices came streaming out into the night as the soldiers assembled the long range radio. Suddenly, a different voice came through all the rest, the voice of a Meqchistanian general.

"What do you mean attack? Where are they coming from? Who are they? What do they have? Where the hell are you? I'm getting reports from all over the country of speacial forces, paratroopers, aircraft, bombers, tanks, soldiers, ships, everything! Will one of you imbeciles figure out what's going on?!" came the voice, turning into a shreek at the end. Apparently the Meqchistanian military was clueless.
Walking into the hovel, quite ignored by the soldiers as they weren't the greatest at seeing in the dark, Smirnoff said, "It's Oberst Smirnoff. What's the situation?" Everyone in the hovel saluted quickly, before returning to the apparent chaos beforehand. Already the planes carrying the other 28 troops and vehicles were three minutes late.

The second in command, a Mayeur Webel Schutze, quickly walked over with the now assembled radio and a beacon for the transports. "Sir, the transports are late, we've got men scattered all to hell, we're only 3 miles from the target, and we've lost all our heavy weapons in the drop. For all we know, the enemy knows our position. This whole operation is FUBAR'd" He muttered, rather angrily, and walked out the door to set up the beacon.

"Not FUBAR, SNAFU. We're trained for this, yet I see you're all moping about as if this was the worst thing that could happen! You have to look on the brightside; you're alive." Smirnoff said helping the Sergeant Major set up the beacon.

Up above in the black sky came forth the scream of jet engines, then they suddenly cut off to reveal the drone of prop-engines. Closer and closer they came, until they were just a few dozen feet above the landing zone, at which point parachutes deployed and disgorged 10 M80 Pattons (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=7), 8 GKT-1A APC's (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=85), 2 GKT-1Z SPAAG's (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=86), and 10 T-11 Light Tanks (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=3). Several boxes also popped out, within which were XM410 Heavy Machineguns (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=15), Panzerfaust-4T's (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=19), MG-G2's (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=17), ammunition, and supplies. Yet another plane came by, and 28 Ketsnatz troops jumped out of the plane, and rolled along the ground. Now the war could begin.

Highway 67, Road to Timmen, Meqchistan

"Alright everyone, in 10 seconds we'll be in Timmen. Lock and load. There's a big presence in this city." Jack Garrison said to his fellow soldiers.

"Yes sir." A few of the soldiers in the military truck that Garrison was in replied.

The Meqchistani resistance in the city had only been notified of an impending attack half an hour earlier, and had only just managed to prepare themselves when the barrage of artillery fire rained down on the city. They were fully awake by the time the bombers had been dispatched and began bombing, and were ready for an imminent attack by the time Garrison and his platoon as well as other platoons prepared to attack the city.

"Alright, go, go, go!" Garrison shouted to the men in his convoy truck as they stormed in to Timmen.

Tanks rolled in 10 seconds later as RPG fire from apartment buildings and the streets erupted upon the allied soldiers.

Garrison grabbed his platoon and took cover near a wall. Bright flashes from the terrorists weapons, mainly G3s and stolen old Soviet AK-47s, light up the streets. Garrison fired 4 shots at an apartment building, randomly aimed.

The tanks, Abrams, fired their rockets at the buildings, causing major debris which distracted the terrorists on the ground.

A few minutes later, all the Ketsnatz soldiers had loaded into the GKT APC's, and were prepared to move out with the tanks. All they awaited was a single word....

With the roar of diesel engines, all the vehicles, and all the Ketsnatz having to walk charged forward, and went at a trot to cover the three miles to the HQ. GARMIDIA AT WAR

President Sam Philips: "So far, this has been an overwhelming victory for the allies."

President of Garmidia Sam Philips has made a short speech in the Dastin National Building Press Briefing Room on the situation in Meqchistan.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, members of the press. As I speak, Coalition forces have begun an assault on the city of Temmin, a terrorist stronghold. This comes as separate assaults on cities around Meqchistan as well as bombing and ground Shock and Awe operations are underway. So far, this has been an overwhelming victory for the allies. Meqchistan has seen the wrath of the allies and it will know that this is what happens when you pull off such inhumane and devastating terrorist attacks upon any nation. Thankyou."

"Come gentlemen we haven't got much time," started Lee King as he was standing before a number of officers and commanders. "Since we've secured a town along the coast, it's time we start to do the job our boys were borned to do,"

"Yeah, send the bastards into nothing," laughed an officer.

"I apprecite your sense of humour but it'll be madness to send troops into the mountains since they know their own land," stated Lee firmly as many remember the Masscare at Hill 87 during the Pirate Wars. "Nevertheless, we have orders to cut off the supply lines heading into the mountains. This means we need to take the towns and cities scattered across the northern plains and those they are at the base of the mountains,"

"With respect sir," started an officer. "We may have a capable fighting force but how are we going to maintain order in these towns, cities and villages after we've taken them?" the officer asked Lee.

"We'll take the cities, towns and villages and afterwards, we'll need to depend on Coalition Forces to secure and hold onto these sites," explained Lee knowing their numbers were too few. "Our numbers may be small but we have the capabilities to send the enemy packing into the mountains where they'll strave to death,"

"Sir," started Matt as he caught his older brother's attention. "We may take their supply lines but wouldn't they be able to bring in supplies from nearby nations?" he asked.

"I've being informed, might be incorrect, that the nearby nations are allies but I'll need to look into that," answer Lee. "Any more questions?" he asked as nobody replied. "Our first target is Gik-Dine. We'll para-drop elite Spec Ops into the nearby plains with orders to take the city. Armour brigades will be forced to take the long way and take out whatever resistance is in front of them and link up in Gik-Dine," concluded Lee.

Several hours later...

2 Armour Brigades and 300 Lynion Rangers alongside 200 Lynion Hunters started the long drive up to Gik-Dine. They had orders to take whatever enemy controlled cities, towns and villages the enemy held in their path. They would depend on Coalition Forces to send Military Police to keep the city, town and villages in Coalition hands.

Over head, three C-370's with a heavy fighter and fighter/bomber escort soared across the sky towards their objective. There was little intel on the enemy strength of air force capabilities and AA positions. They weren't going to take a chance so they dispatched 50 Dingo Fighter Jets and 20 Fighter/Bombers to be used in case they came across any AA positions. Inside the C-370's, 60 Shadow Assassin's and 80 Black Assassin's were inbound to the city. There was little intel on the enemy numbers but it was expected they were going to he highly out-numbered. It was the way they liked it.

While General Arnolds Marines and Army troops were fighting in the plains, there were already 3 13 man Navy SEAL Teams in the mountains scoping out enemy fighter Caves and defensive possitions

General Willian Truscott, commander of the 37th Infrantry(Mechanized), looked out the firing slot of his M3A3 Command Vehicles at the Battlefield, his Lead Brigade had just run into and deicmated a Meqchistani Battalion, he suffered a mere 23 killed, he was now making a speed run towards the Next city up the road, Tien, after he captured that city, the 33rd Infrantry and 38th Armored would make a drive towards the capitol of Milay

An Unmanned Aerial Reconnaissance aircraft flew over the mountains of Meqchistan, with thermal imaging. They showed a mass of human activity inside the mountains and the normal view showed thousands of terrorists moving across the mountains to defensive positions.

Temmin, Meqchistan

Garrison and his men were making a fast advance through the city. It was slowly but surely being taken over by the allies, and they had suffered only 32 losses, while the terrorists reached over 100.

"Okay, move, there's an apartment building up there. It's being held by the terrorists." Garrison alerted his men as they approached the building.

"There!" A single voice shouted out from the building and a mass of firing erupted on the advancing platoons. Tanks fired their shots but were largely ineffective as RPG fire kept them from getting close.

Garrison aimed through is M4A1, took a shot, and blew off a terrorists head.

Less than a mile East of HQ#1

As fighting was going on elsewhere, Smirnoffs mind was taken up with the battle taking place in front of him. Having had metal slats placed quite a ways farther than normal from the vehicle, they were much safer from RPG fire than most, espeacially since they could put the slats out as far as they wanted, for they were not expected to enter any rural area.
Feeling the bone jarring thud of his M80 Patton fire, he took a look through the thermal sights. There. Another MG nest out of action. He thought. He flipped up a mental card, and brought the sites around to the next target as he heard the clunk telling him that the gun was almost loaded. "Fire," he said calmly, as if for all the world this was a walk in the park. A spurt of sand went flying high up into the air, nearby an anti-tank position.
The terrorists were dug in deep. While they had not expected any form of attack, they had been preparing to move out just as the first tank crested the hill. They had luckily been able to take out many terrorists while they were still in their jeeps and tanks, but enough had survived to put up a fight.
Unfortunately, one of the T-11's had been hit directly by RPG fire, and the entire crew died instantly, and one of the SPAAG's track had been grazed by an AP shell severing it, and leaving the vehicle a stationary gun. Luckily it wasn't being targeted.
A massive gowser of dirt erupted where the AT-gun used to be, as one of the SPAAGs opened up it's double Flak-10's on it. The APC's continued to speed forward, but driving eraticaly and firing their bushmasters without any worry for ammunition. Terrorist after terrorist went down due to their 30mm auto-cannons, and soon few dared to so much as put up their weapon.
Smirnoff pressed the green button on his jacket that allowed him to speak to all units connected to his command net, "All units, move in, and secure the settlement. First and second transports will take the Northern half, third and fourth will take the West, fifth and sixth the South, and seven and eighth the Eastern. All tanks and SPAAG's will provide support. Let's go! Try to take as many as you can alive! For Daiwiiiiz!" He finished with a yell.
Aboard the first transport, Danny was commanding first and second patrols. Beneath his feet he could feel the transport beginning to turn, as Smirnoffs voice came over the radio. With the last part of his message the entire cabin reverbrated with cries of "For Daiwiz!" and "Give 'em hell!".
Suddenly, the vehicle came to a halt, with the cry over the speaker saying "Out, out, out!" The door swung open, and the patrols quickly filed out, taking cover as they did so. Most of them opened fire upon actual targets, while others fired randomly where they thought the enemy was. Several terrorists went down, and several Ketsnatz took hits, but luckily their Kavisiq (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=67) body armor saved them, except one who was hit in the head.
Beside him, Danny noticed the GKT-1A begin to move forward. Grabbing a new clip for his rifle, he dropped the one that was there and reloaded. Raising his now fully filled weapon above his head, and gave a cry of "Let's get the bastaaaarrrds! Chaaarrrge!" With this, he jumped out of the shell hole, and began to charge forwards behind the the GKT-1A with his rifle to his shoulder. Leaning his arm against the vehicle, he could feel the entire piece shake with every round fired from the cannon. No longer feeling the rifle fire, he grabbed yet another clip, and glanced around him. Not more than three feet away were his entire squad firing upon the enemy forces.
Off in the distance, within a guards tower, a wounded sniper brought his weapon to bear upon Danny. He aimed for the head. Slowly pulled upon the trigger until he felt it tighten...Not yet...Not yet...Now. He squeezed the rest of the way until he felt the bone-jarring jolt telling him the weapon was fired.
Ducking back to reload, Danny had no time to hear the rifle. It went right through his neck, barely missing the vein. Touching his neck in a stunned way, he muttered a curse before collapsing. Choking upon his own blood, he clasped his hand to his throat. Blood dribbled down his chin, but he payed it no heed. Now he knew what it was like to be on the other end of the rifle.

"1 minute to the drop zone," shouted the pilot from the cockpit as Revan and the others glanced about.

The C-370 had 50 men onboard as each one checked their weapons, supplies and parachutes. It was the first time the Black and Shadow Assassin's were going to work side by side. It was also the first time Revan and Rathma were in the same C-370 together. Revan looked about as Rathma was preparing for the jump.

"We got orders to drop outside Gik-Dine and assault it," started Revan as he secured his helmet on. "We got plenty of air support but don't expect them to hang around for too long. Our main objective is to disrupt the supply routes into the mountains and this is our staging point. We're going to be miles from any Coalition Forces so we're dropping into enemy terrority. The moment you get to the ground, form up with your squads and secure your objectives," contiuned Revan as the red light change to orange. "Remember, you only have 4 days ration and it needs to last for two weeks. We don't want to kill civilians either," concluded Revan as he was the first one to the line as the others formed up behind him. "Good luck boys," Revan said as he raised his mouth guard over his mouth and nose as well as putting his protective goggles on.

The hull door opened as they were greeted with the night sky. There was little to see as Revan was the first to jump out of the C-370 and started to free fall. They would have to free fall a fair distance before opening their parachutes which happened without any causlities. They opened their parachutes suddenly as it slowed their drop to the ground as they prepared themselves for a possible battle. Of course there a battle was going to happen since they were far from allied lines. The 140 men dropped to the ground quietly each armed with silencer's on their weapons. The Shadow Assassin's, unlike the Black Assassin's, had a Gurkha Combat Knife they were given as part of their training course with the Gurkha's. The Black Assassin's had bayonets and an axe when it came to collecting bounties on officers heads. The men re-groupped into their squads as they used the shadows to carefully advance upon an enemy.

Temmin, Meqchistan

"We're here, Wolf Whiskey Lead, this is Alpha Bravo Dune, over."

20km from Temmin, Low-level fight zone

There was only sporadic shots and a few grenade explosions to be heard in the Low-level fight zone. Most of the terrorists had been wiped out by the advancing forces and the left over ones were being taken care of by the Special Forces.

Private Gregory Iolope preferred this type of fighting to all-out real intense fighting. He preferred the background noise of a few guns going of here and there, and the small intensity and buzz of sporadic fighting.

His small group that he was part of was behind a wall of a toilet, the terrorists only a short distance away. They were taking cover on the steps of an abandoned subway.

Gregory stuck his head out from the wall and he saw a couple of terrorists. They were crouching behind the steps that led down underground. He saw this as his chance.

He stuck his HK-416 out and fired four, quick un-aimed shots, they missed, but this is what he wanted. The rest of the small 7 man team stuck their guns out as well. The terrorists thought it was safe to look, and when they did, all 7 fired their shots at the two terrorists, killing them.

Danny lay upon the ground dying, holding his hand to his neck for dear life. All around him Ketsnatz charged forward, wether they be riding on top of the GKT-1's, or simply running. Shells landed all around, throwing clouds of dirt into the air, and bullets wizzed by overhead from the few terrorists still alive and willing to poke their heads up. He coughed, and a fresh stream of blood went down his chin to pool around his hands. If he did not get help soon, he would die.

The world was beginning to spin out of focus, and he clung desperately to conciousness. The wound no longer burned, and he was beginning to welcome the comforting blackness of death. Suddenly, a face came into focus.

"Sir, your gonna be all right! Just stay with me, I'll patch you up." Said a voice. Now, who's was it? He couldn't remember. He felt a rifle lean against his side. A small pain made its way through the blackness, jolting his mind back into conciousness. Blessed releif spread through him, as the morphine took effect. The pain in his neck began to subside, and he began to fight the encroaching darkness. "Sir, hold on, your gonna feel some pain," came the voice again. Ah yes, it was Jasper; the medic.

Jasper quickly rumaged through his medical pack, barely looking at it. Yes, there was the Quickclot. He quickly took it out, and applied it to Danny's wound. He then grabbed a bandage, and held it upon the wound. "Keep the bandage here sir, I've got to go help the others. I'll send someone to pick you up," and with that he ran off.

Aboard the command tank, Smirnoff was able to see everything that was happening, except for Danny's wounding. The sniper that fired upon him, however, was easily seen. "Ten degrees, left! Fire!" came the cry from Smirnoff to the gunner. The tower suddenly winked out of existence, except for several large splinters which sliced through the air like giant knives, cutting an unlucky terrorist in half. "Get us up to the outskirts. I'm gonna take part in the assault," he told the driver. The tank began to pick up speed, and was soon right outside the first building, surrounded by several Ketsnatz supported by GKT-1A's.

Along a side-street, a terrorist gun crew wheeled their light AA gun quickly into position, and began to fire. Rounds smashed into the side of the T-11 light tank, killing the driver instantly, and wounding the gunner. It couldn't have taken less than two seconds, but already several dozen rounds had penetrated the tank, before a SPAAG turned the gun into scrap metal, and ripped the crew apart. Smirnoff opened the compartment linking him to the gunner, and grabbed his arms. The mans legs had been severed from the body right at the knee cap, and the stuck to his seat. The driver was most certainly dead, for there was nothing left of him except a few parts, and a burned body. Smirnoff pulled the gunner out of the tank, making it possible for him to get some treatment.

Standing dazed for a second, he quickly snapped out of it. The medic gave Smirnoff his rifle, telling Smirnoff that the gunner was too badly wounded to be left. This was the same medic that had treated Danny. Smirnoff thanked him, and quickly got beside one of the doors. A patrol ran up beside him, and handed him a grenade. "Fire in the hole!" and in goes the grenade. A thump, and a dust cloud came rolling out, before they all went through the doorway with AK-113s raised to their shoulders. Within, three terrorists had been thrown away, and ripped to shreads. They were both dead. A shot rang out, and a terrorist quickly ducked behind a doorway. He was but three feet ahead. Smirnoff grabbed his KM2000 combat knife, and with a cry swung the knife around the door. It went right through the terrorists eye, and into his brain, killing him quickly and painlessly.

"Alright, upstairs," whisper Smirnoff. He resheathed the knife, and brought his gun to bear. Another cry of "Fire in the hole!" and another grenade went up the steps. The entire patrol carefully climbed the stairs, aiming down their sights, every sense on alert. A small, barely audible whine came from the room on the right. Within was a bedroom, and a terrorist standing with his hands upon his head. As soon as he saw the soldiers, he started crying, and murmuring unintelligably in his language. Cry's of "Get on the floor!" came from every member of the team, and a gun to the back of his head made the meaning clear. Within every house, this was repeated, sometimes with a prisoner, sometimes without, but always with several grenades.

As the Ketsnatz continued their attack upon the first HQ, and the other Coalition forces moved in upon their respective targets, Task Force Vladimir prepared to move in force upon the port of Cantanina. With this port secured, they could continue to bring in reinforcements without fear of attack upon the transports. It would also remove what little naval power the Meqchistanians currently had. The war would start in ernest here.

Aboard the Amphibious Assault Ship "Headquarters" bridge

"Admiral, the force is ready. We await your permission to attack Cananina," came the comm operator. He looked expectantly towards Rear Admiral Glen D. Mykolovic. Mykolovic had taken over from Vice Admiral Raymond R. Ford, the original commander of the task force, as he had come down with Pneumonia. Mykolovic stood about 5'6, with grey hair, and a beard that covered the entire lower half of his face. He always kept it trimmed such that it was short. His hair was grey, and was cut to military length. He was a bit portly, but well muscled, and generally in a good mood.

Outside, more than a dozen UH-63 Flying Tubs were filled with Morskoye-Soldat, and awaiting orders to lift off. Beneath a few, there were T-11 light tanks. Upon the other AAS, it was a similar sight, hundreds of men prepared to begin an assault upon Cananina. Within the confines of these massive vessels, men had been loaded into transports, and now awaited anxiously the signal to assist in finally securing the port.

"Do it," came the gruff reply to the request. As the order was relayed, the helicopters on both vessels began to take off, and 80 jet aircraft aboard Daiwiz were beginning to be launched into the air. All but a single squadron left to fly above the city, and eliminate any AA and targets of opertunity they could find, while the single squadron was to fly cover for the helicopters. The attack had begun.

Gik-Dine

The Assassin's had landed quietly on the plans surrounding Gik-Dine when they started to notice a large number of terrorists holding the town. A blind charge would get them killed. Revan met up with Rathma as they went over the maps and tried to locate a building that could be used as a barracks for the enemy.

Meanwhile, Junta Squad had gone around the town and located the main power station for the town the were assaulting. There was a small number protecting the power station but it would give the Lynion's their advantage over their enemy. Spliting up, Junta Squad were going to quietly turn the power off without planting C4 chargers on the generator's. This would have the enemy think there's a fuse in the power station somewhere without knowing somebody else had shut down the power.

Junta Squad was a detachment of the Shadow Assassin's that was sent to work alongside the Black Assassin's. With knives in their teeth and silenced pistols at the ready, they steathly crawled across the earth towards their unsepecting targets. The eight squad members executed the guards by sliting their thoarts and dragging them into the shadows. There was one officer killed but he had his head decapitated and left on the ground in the shadows. With the guards removed, the squad went inside and found the power switich. It looked fairly easy but they turned it off, removed part of the control panel and threw a C4 charge in for 30 seconds. With the charge planted, Junta Squad dashed outside making little noise before hearing a soft exploision and the power going off around the town.

'Good work,' thought Revan to himself as Junta Squad came back to their original positions. The 140 men then silently went forward towards buildings while hiding in the darkness. They were to wait for the enemy come forward and catch them by surprise.

Highway 12, Road to Ming-Lan, Meqchistan

"Okay. Here's the plan guys. We got some 4,000 Abrams to back us up as we roll into Ming-Lan. Intelligence suggests 1,500 terrorists in Ming-Lan, they've only just been informed of the major ground invasion because the air bombing Shock and Awe blew the shit out of their communications. So the element of surprise should work in our favor. Jets will fly overhead in about 7 minutes to begin a small bombing campaign and then only 5 will be kept around, with helicopter support, to provide backup as the majority are needed elsewhere. We've got about 11,000 ground forces, with artillery, and like I said, roughly 4,000 Abrams. We need this city." Announced Major General Jackson Rivers, in command of the 12th Division, preparing to attack Ming-Lan.

The Highway leading to Ming-Lan had been blocked off some 4 hours before, and the terrorists were unaware of the pending assault.

The 12th Division readied their rifles, got in their IFVs, LAVs, Military convoy trucks and their assault vehicles, ready to head toward Ming-Lan.

I stated a while ago that I'd send combat troops into the area, but thanks to the fact that I only really have internet access once a day, I missed half the war. It may be a delayed entrance, but I've sent in paratroopers to clear the area a bit further inland from where my Marines are scheduled to land.

Edit: Oh, I see. my forces are landing in and around Brakenstein. Sorry about the lack of clarification; I had 10 minutes to write that post. It's a completely independent assault, and it'll probably draw troops away from your (the rest's) invasion.

IC: As the report from the Airborne finished coming in, the Admiral-in-command of the Marine MER dispatched to Meqchistan read through it one more time. "They're capturing the roads... which puts them twenty minutes behind schedule." Behind him, the commanders of the MER waited anxiously. Finally, the admiral turned.

"Prepare for landing. I want the entire force to be ready within twenty minutes."

"Aye, sir!" The Marine officers ran to their respective quarters. The admiral knew that they would be ready in ten minutes. The only question was whether the Airborne would be too.

Port Lituan
Elevated Highway
0355 May 17, 2009

Sierra Group continued to move along the highway into the heart of Port Lituan. They hadn’t seen a soul, just burned out or abandoned vehicles. Frankly, it was weird and some of the men were becoming uneasy. The convoy had just passed Checkpoint 3, when Command came calling.

“Command to Sierra Group.”

“Sierra-Group here.” Answered the communications officer.” Please go ahead.”

“Your primary objectives have changed. We need a handful of units to go and secure Meqchistanian Administrated buildings in Lituan Plaza. The rest are needed to secure Port Lituan airport for use as our Forward Operating Base. Be advised, air force recon reports hostiles, in both areas. Good Luck, out.”

The radio officer completed his message form and handed it to the CO. The CO read and began sending out his orders. At the next exit, 5 LAV’s and 10 HMMWV’s exited the highway and began towards Lituan Plaza. A short distance away, a Meqchistanian solider, put down his binoculars and picked up his radio.

Port Lutan International Airport
Terminal One
0435 May 17, 2009

“Tango-Lead to Command, Harbour is secure, repeat, Harbour is secure. I have 4 KIA. I have 6 men injured and 2 POW’s injured as well. I request medical EVAC.”

All the men in the brigade heard that message. They began to check their weapons and get into the zone. The airport was deserted, not a man in sight. The HMMWV’s headed for the runways and hangers, while the LAV’s looked for a way to put the troops into the terminal buildings. But the terminal was concrete and steel, no windows to bust in.

“Anyone got an idea? The CO asked over the radio.

“I sure do, sir” Sierra-10 broke from ranks and headed towards a metal gate over the main entrance, not unlike one you might see at a shop. The twenty ton vehicle made short work of it creating a nice big door for the troops. Sierra-10 didn’t stop however, it continued right into the terminal, heading for the food court.

“Guess he’s hungry.” Remarked the CO with a large grin on his face.”Let’s clear this airport” He said as his men disembarked and entered the terminal.

Meanwhile the HMMWV’s had scouted the hangers and found them to be empty. The tank farm was in good condition, but all the electric pumps had been burnt out. All the radar, communications and lighting gear had been burnt out too and would need repair. The only thing left to check was the tower. Three HMMWV’s pulled up to the emergency door, the occupants of two of them exited, and slowly walked to the door. A third covered them with his .50 cal. Just as the Corporal was about to open the door, a Meqchistanian solider came out, laughing and holding a cigarette. He didn’t see the gun that shot him. There was a cacophony of noise from inside, until someone threw a grenade, then the sounds stopped. The men slowly entered, and explored the tower. It seemed the Meqchistanians had put charges inside, so to deny the tower to the Allied cause, but had not yet armed them, a lucky break. The Sergeant in charge radioed the CO and told him the tower was clear.

Inside Terminal One, a group of thirty Meqchistanian soldiers hid behind the counters behind various fast food joints, hoping to kill unsuspecting Allied troops as they rounded the corner. They had heard them break down a door moments before and now saw lights on a nearby wall. Suddenly, a loud rumbling was heard, echoing through the building, the solders aimed their AK’s towards the far window wall expecting a helicopter to appear at any moment. The last thing they expected was a 20 ton armoured vehicle to appear around the corner, firing a 25 mm chain gun at them. The LAV knocked chairs and tables across the room, as it fired into the restaurants. Some men tried to fire back and were instantly killed, others realized they had no chance and threw away their arms and surrendered. The CO finally caught up to the LAV and ordered his men to continue searching the terminals. It took an hour but the job was done, the men
finding a small weapons cache and taking some prisoners.

“Sierra-1 to Command, Airport is secure. Repeat. Airport is secure. We have taken minor casualties, and have several prisoners. We will need some people here to repair the damaged systems as the Meqchistanians have conducted sabotage operations. Over” The CO reported.

“Good Job, Commander. We’ll send some men from the carrier to help with repairs. The carrier should be there in 5 hours. In the meantime, secure prisoners and airport perimeter. We’ll send some air cover towards you just in case. Over.”

"We have a firing solution!"

"Fire at will. Follow the displayed order of engagement and neutralise all shore defences."

"Understood."

The Arkicyr class arsenal ships, using targeting data sent to them by a single overflying E-3 Sentry, began to spray cruise missiles into the air. Spewing out an extreme amount of firepower for two ships, the arsenal ships slowly cruised towards the shore, the smoke raised by the missile launches obscuring the landing craft being dropped by the Wasp-class amphibious assault ships behind them. Soon, explosions began to litter the coastal area, and Marines, mounted on ships, amphbious vehicles and helicopters began their assault on the sands of Meqchistan.

"Damn! PK on the right... Yrfantsyr, take it out!"

"Sir!" There was a short pause, then as the PK opened up yet again, there was a pop, a 40mm grenade howled through the air and then an explosion rocked the ground. Wincing as the HE shell kicked up a spray of blood, the Airborne sergeant opened up yet again with his rifle. Then, from behind, an M8 appeared, destroyed the blockade in the path of the group with a single shot from its main gun and the Airborne continued their advance.

"3...2...1..." muttered Revan to himself as he watched the Assassin next to him 'paint' the barracks with a laser.

His answer came as a Hunter came screaming across the night sky and dropped two 500 kilogram bombs straight onto the barracks. The barracks eruppted into a cloud of smoke and explosion as there was no chance of survival for anyone inside the barracks. For the civilians that came out to investigate, they saw the Assassin's move light wild fire and started to engage the straggling enemy forces. For Revan and Rathma, this was their passion as they started to go through them like a hot knife against butter.

"This is Hurricane Gunship Jango calling allied forces," started a voice over the radio pieces as Revan took command. "What's going on down there? It looks like July 25,"

"There's still plenty of things to do," replied Revan as he guided his men against an force that out-numbered them. "I need gunship support in and around the town,"

"Copy that, I'm going loud," replied the voice.

Revan led his badly out-numbered force against the enemy as they kept up the pressure before a burst of artillery fire could be heard. Rathma glanced about before a number of terrorists were blown to pieces by the gunship that was circling above them. Smiles went all round as the terrorists were suddenly pinned down by the heavy fire from the gunship. The next course was mini-gun fire as two maybe three mini-guns from the gunship blasted the terrorists apart.

"Revan," shouted Rathma as he empty a clip before reloading it. "What do we do if they want to surrender?" he asked as Revan fired a few rounds into a group of terrorists that started to run.

"Kill them all," replied Revan. "We haven't got the man-power to take any prisoners," he stated as Rathma realised he was right. There was no use for taking prisoners since they had no way of getting rid of them until their armour support (3 days away) would arrive.

As the battles raged elsewhere, Daiwizian helicopters loaded with troops sped towards Cananina. Over the city, scores of Daiwizian bombers and fighters buzzed about like so many gnats, destroying AA position after AA position, clearing the way for the helicopters. Aboard these helicopters was Daniel Siberia, a corporal in the Morskoye-Soldat (Marines), he was only 21. They began to near the shore. Within the docks, a small destroyer was sinking, and cries of help came from it. Men clambered over other men, both alive and dead, so as to get out of the water and onto the relatively dry deck. Smoke spewed from the vessels destroyed bridge, in which several of the crew were trapped and destined to be burned alive, or drowned.
"Alpha Sierra, do you read over," came the cry over the radio from the lead chopper.
"Charlie, we read over."
"We're getting close to the city. I recommend you cease your runs, and stay on call if possible, over."
"Copy that, good luck, out," and with that the line was killed.
"Get ready back there boys! We're coming on hot!" came the cry into the compartment. Daniel was manning the MG-G2 mounted on the side, and a putputputput was continuously coming from the gun. Streams of grenades were launched towards the two-storey buildings from which streams of RPG fire, bullets, and even stones came. A stream of bullets went right across the side of the chopper, pinging off, and drowned out the "Holy shits!" that were spoken by much of the men in the rear.
"Get ready! You're gonna be roping down, it's too hot to land. Get ready! Go, go, go!" With that, ropes were shoved from the rear of the CH-47 Chinook, unrolled towards the sandy street below, and men began to rope down to the earth while Daniel and the other gunners kept up a steady stream of fire. They would not be returning to the carrier for another load of troops, as they were a part of the squad roping down right now.
Just as Daniel used up his last round, the call came from the loadmaster that everyone was out. Daniel re-slung his G-37 (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Universal_Defense/index.php?showtopic=10) over his shoulder, and took ahold of the rope. He looked over the edge futively, before stepping off the chopper; he swung about crazily, watching the brick and sandstone buildings spin around him like on a merri-go-round. He quietly choked back some vile, and began to climb. Hand over hand he went, praying not to be shot. Below, he could see his squad engaged in a firefight with the terrorists. Tracers went back and forth, every fallen terrorist replaced by another.
He finally reached the ground, and swining his weapon up to his shoulder, fired off several bursts. Three terrorists fell, and their places were quickly taken by others.
"Frag-out!" came the cry, as one of the soldiers grabbed a grenade from his jacked, pulled the pin, and launched it into the air. It made a tinkling sound, and the terrorists began to scramble away from it, but it was in vain. The grenade exploded, launching fragments in every direction, and removing the terrorists cover from existence. Few of the terrorists fared much better, most of them being ripped to shreds or limbs blown off by the grenade. The few that remained began to run, and were quickly given ample reason to run as an XM-410 was set up. It rained shells down upon the terrorists as they took off down the street, discarding their AK-47's. A few ducked into houses, while the rest were cut in half by the .50 cal bullet.
Waving his hand in the air, the Mayeur Webel Schutze started forward, "Let's go, let's go! We gotta clear the port!" The three squads began to speed down the street, occasionaly being interrupted by a few terrorist stragglers. Daniel did his part, fired round after round towards the terrorists. A few of the marines fell, but most took hits in their chest, which were stopped by the Kratiq armor. Soon, the port would be in their hands, and the heavy equipment would begin landing. For the USSDAF, the war began here.

Outside the command bunker of HQ-#1

"Well, why the hell can't we just blow it off its hinges?" Came the exasperate question from Smirnoff. He rubbed his temples in an exasperated fashion, for he had had a tiring day. Six of his men were dead, twelve were wounded, they had to take care of seven prisoners, he had lost three vehicles, and now the enemy was holed up in a bunker that was more tunnel and concrete than anything.
"Sir, if we do that, the roof will come crashing down on anything in there, and the shockwave will kill them before they are crushed to mush. This door litterrally weighs a ton, and the airforce damaged the structure. We have to cut it off." Said the demolitions expert, giving the door a solid kick.
Suddenly, Smirnoff's eyes lighted. "What if we ripped it off it's hinges? We have enough armor, shouldn't be too hard." He said with a grin.
"That might work... We should also put a small amount of explosives around the edges, just to help it along. We will still have to cut through some of it though, make two holes." He said with a bit of a chuckle. The demo-expert was a few sandwiches short of a picknick, having been too close to too many explosions. "It will take about 10 minutes, thanks to the Vozdushnye. Atleast they did something right."
"Do it, and lemme know when your ready. Oh, and get a couple of grenades through the hole. Make sure nothing in that hallway is alive," with that, Smirnoff walked off to ready the tank. Finally, they could end this battle.

OOC: I take it you're going to war against us... This is planned so we win, remember, and I don't actually want massive war with massive casualties, this was meant to be a small, quick, effective attack and then we take the bulk of our forces out so if you could scale back... and Meqchistan isn't communist, it's a religious dictatorship.

OOC: This is just an opportunity to gain field experience, really. There's no point going serious over it.

IC: The CH-53K swayed as light AA fire exploded in the skies around them. Inside its spacious cargo hold, a large group of Marines waited for the inevitable order to descend; it was either that, or be shot down by a Shiika, and that was something no man wanted to think about; stuck in a situation where your rifle will not help, falling through the skies, flames around you...

"Corporal!" The soldier jerked awake, and looked up at his sergeant in what looked like surprise. "Sir!" he managed.

"Stay awake. You have 2 minutes."

"Aye, sir." He looked down at his M60E4, the standard squad support weapon of all 10th Army (Marine) Landing Forces; it was a privilege only those embarked on a MER could have, and it was one he certainly liked. Although the Army troops complained about the astounding recoil of the 7.62mm round as opposed to the 5.56mm rounds used in the M249s and MG36s generally employed by the Army, it was the 7.62mm round that made the weapon what it really was...

"Corporal, 1 minute." Standing to his feet, the corporal slung his M60 over his shoulder and shouted "One minute!" The Marines jumped to their feet, weapons held ready and soon the helicopter began slowing down. They heard more AA fire rush past them, only to stop abruptly as what appeared to be a Hellfire missile crashed into it. Watching the smoke trail of the said missile, the marines saw a RAH-66 Comanche firing its minigun at the enemy infantry on the beach, and then the helicopter stopped, the command came to prepare to jump, the pilot shouted "Go! Go! Go!" and the Marines disembarked, taking up positions behind rocks and ridges, firing their AR5 carbines and AR6 rifles as they went. Bullets hit the sand as the Meqchistanis opened fire, but they instantly ducked for cover as the corporal opened up with his M60E4 and his 7.62 mm rounds.

Timmen was almost taken. Hardly any more terrorists left. Garrison moved his men down town. There was air bombing overhead and tanks were rolling in to position to begin firing on the last positions of terrorists.

The 29th platoon, that Garrison was leading, passed a large brown building.

"That's suspicious." Garrison alerted.
"What, sir?"
"The windows are boarded up."
"You're right sir. What should we do?"
Garrison looked around quickly.
"Let's take a look."

Garrison ordered his men up to a breaching position on the large apartment like building. A soldier from the platoon laid the breaching charge across the handle on the door, and, a few seconds later, it exploded.

Half the men from 29th Platoon piled into the building. Nothing on the first floor.

"Alright, Head upstairs." Garrison ordered.

Everyone on the command bridge of the huge Longsword was in a rush, soon they expected to be hailed or intercepted by the Coalition forces.
But the plan was going to change...
The steps grew louder, and soon enough the source of the sound was upon them, a tall figure stalking down the corridor and moving toward the bridge. The two guards waited and within moments the tall man stepped into the light beaming down through the window and the veil of darkness was cast aside revealing an handsome, tall man in mid thirties, dressed completely in white navy uniform and garnishing a pistol on his right hip. Without pause or hesitation the two guards snapped to attention, lowering their weapons.
Flavius noticed the man,and greeted him..

"Captain Metzer, long time no see, what news do you bring me from the Directorate?"

Captan obviously nervous,quietly responded...

"Sir,i don't know anything,i was sent to deliver you this document."

he said, with his arm, obviously shaking, reaching toward the Admiral and handing him the documents..
Flavius grew angry, with what he found in the report annoyed him a lot.

As the last terrorist lying on the ground begging to be spared was shot, Revan looked up as the retreating terrorists fled into the mountains. For now, a badly outnumbered force had trumiphed over a highly overwhelming force. Rathma looked about as he saw the terrorists were retreating into the mountains. There was little causlities but a few were injuried but with light injuries. However, things were going to get worse since their air support was gone.

"We're in for a rough night," stated Revan as he turned around to the others. "Well done boys. But we got worse things to come and we're going to hold out. Barricade all enterances, inform HQ of the advance and find out how far the armour is away," ordered Revan as the radio operator started to contact Command.

Port Lituan
Lituan Plaza
0555 May 17, 2009

“Sierra-1 to Command, Airport is secure. Repeat. Airport is secure. We have taken minor casualties, and have several prisoners. We will need some people here to repair the damaged systems as the Meqchistanians have conducted sabotage operations. Over” The CO reported.

“Good Job, Commander. We’ll send some men from the carrier to help with repairs. The carrier should be there in 5 hours. In the meantime, secure prisoners and airport perimeter. We’ll send some air cover towards you just in case. Over.”

Tutlingburg ground units had finally entered Lituan Plaza. The normally thirty minute trip had taken over two hours. Most of the road leading there had been covered in large amounts of debris from the recent shock and awe campaign. The first LAV into the plaza had found it empty, like everywhere else in this town. The major in charge, had his men head for the far end of the plaza, where Port Lituan city hall was located. The vehicles formed a defensive perimeter around the building as the group’s communications officer called in.

“Sierra-117 to Command we are at Objective. No hostile contact, over.”

“Command to Sierra-117, Search and Clear Port Lituan City Hall, you have air support if needed. Keep us posted out.”

The Major gathered his men and explained the plan. Five minutes later they breached the front door and began to search.

In a nearby multi-storey parking garage, a Meqchistanian Captain gathered up his men and said one last prayer. He had over 80 men here, more than enough he thought to rid Lituan Plaza of the foreign scum. He also had an ace in the hole, two T-72 tanks that had been fortunate enough to ride out the bombing campaign in this very garage. The men began loading into the transport trucks, and heading for Lituan Plaza with the T-72’s in the lead.

The major had been looking at some documents his men had found, when the first tank round hit the building. Looking out the window, he told his vehicles to begin retreating down a side street, knowing full well none of them could take a tank hit. The Meqchistanians used this small window of opportunity to deploy their men and begin to advance towards the building. The troops inside began to fire at the oncoming Meqchistanian troops, but the constant shelling made it difficult. The major grabbed his radio.

“This is Sierra-117 to any friendly units in range, I am under heavy fire from enemy ground units, need some assistance, Over!” For a few seconds there was nothing but static, then a voice responded,” This is Viper-lead; I am inbound on Lituan Plaza, Mark your exact position using IR flare. Over.”

The major grabbed a flare and threw out the nearest window.” We have deployed flare, all hostiles are located east of it, and priority would be the heavy armour, over.”

“Get some cover, here comes the rain.”

Two F-16 broke off and dove towards the city. Flying a bare hundred feet over rooftops, the two soon arrived over Lituan Plaza. They each locked on to two infrared signatures, fired two AGM-65’s, and then pulled up to rejoin the others. The two tanks were instantly destroyed a second later, as two transport trucks. The Meqchistanian Captain had no idea what had happened, just that his two tanks and at least 20 of his men were gone. Now the Tutlingburgian Major called his vehicles back, and the battle ended a short time later, when the Meqchistanian Captain surrendered. The Major walked back to his LAV to contact command.

“Sierra-117 to Command, Lituan Plaza, is secured, repeat secured. I have 5 lightly injured men, and 25 POW’s. Orders?”

“Command to all units, Port Lituan is now under Tutlingburg control. Sierra-117 we’ll send some units your way, just hold position. Good job, everyone!”

Skies above HQ-5, Meqchistan

The Garmidia Special Forces had been dispatched to take out HQ-5, one of the Meqchistani governments points of spending, the hideaway military base. Although it was extremely visible, it was encased in anti-radar shielding and had high tech systems inside. It was said that the Meqchistani government had spent more time on their hideaway military bases than on the actual military.

It was a small 20 man team, equipped with the usual silenced HK-416s, and the black silicon Garmidian StretchWear Special Forces operative uniform. They were paratroopers, and were preparing to jump from their military aircraft high in the sky. The leader of the squad, Corporal Peter Killainway, stood walking down to the hatch at the back of the aircraft that was about to open.

About 10 seconds later, the large door slowly began to open, making a loud droning noise as it crept it's way open. The rest of the squad stood up, prepared themselves, checked their weapons and prepared to jump.

The door had been open for 10 seconds, when the large light beside the door flicked from red to green.

"Go, go, go!" Shouted Peter. The other 19 men jumped out of the plane, and Peter followed them.

It was a smooth descent down to the area surrounding HQ-5, and when they landed they were only a kilometer away from the base.

Like silent raindrops, the 20 man team landed, disbanded their parachutes and equipped their weapons.

"Great landing guys." Peter congratulate the team.

Revan and Rathma glanced over the map again as they watched their officers begin to take notes on various operations around the town they were conducting. Trenches and fox holes were being dug as the Spec Ops were preparing for an enemy counter-attack any time soon. With the town secure, it would be a matter of time before the enemy comes back for it and they still had to await for the armour to arrive which was about 3 days out from their current location.

"Let's go over this one last time," stated Revan as his officers gave their attention to him. "We're expecting the enemy to come in from all directions, no allied units are even in the area. We'll use the trenches and the foxholes to our advantage for when they arrive. If the worse comes to worse, all units are expected to fall back to the hospital where we will make our final stand," explained Revan. "If you get lost or we're killed, head south and re-group with allied units. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir," they replied in unisim.

"Right, go and inform your units of what's happening," ordered Revan as his officers headed out to their units.

1 Km from Meqchistani HQ-5

Peter was assembling his weaponry, getting prepared for the attack on the Meqchistani Army HQ-5. They had just dropped from their aircraft and now, they were prepared.

This was known as Operation Grassland Storm.

"Okay, let's go. Gregory, take out that scout tower." Peter said.
"Yes sir." Said Gregory, the sniper of the team.

19 of the men began to quickly but very quietly make their way to the base in the moonlight.

As the 19 men made their way, a quick, sharp sound of a silenced sniper rifle bullet flying through the air and punching into the head of the Meqchistani army sniper filled the quiet night, however, the Meqchistani men on the inside of the base were completely clueless about what had just happened.

"Okay, we have to climb these walls." Said Peter. "But first, I want you to throw over a camera."
"Sir?" One of the men said.
"We each were given a small camera, an optic cable camera, to use. I want you to throw it over the wall, so we can observe through it."
"Right, sir." The man, Luke Demmingway, clicked on his small hand held viewing device and took out a camera from the back pocket of his uniform. He attached the optical cord to the hand held device and threw it over the wall.

The camera showed military vehicles, many large houses, and an ammunition depot. Lights were on in the large housing area, presumably for the generals, but no-one outside. Dark shadows made break in the light, the Meqchistani generals.

The body of the fallen scout man was lying just passed the ammunition depot, a great spot where no-one would see it.

"Alright, we're ready." Said Peter.

Outside the bunker of HQ-#1

"On three. One....Two....Three! Go, go, go!" Roared Smirnoff, moving his hand over his head. The M80-Patton attached to the massive door set into the side of the grey bunker began to inch forward. Its engine roared, and the steel door squealed like a banshee, but the door finally gave way. With a loud screech of metal on metal, the door was ripped from its hinges, and slid along the ground. As soon as the massive sheet of metal had come to rest, four Ketsnatz lobbed two grenades each in through the now opened doorway. A couple of small clinks, and a few coughs, then several muffled whoomps came forth from the tunnel, sending out a small cloud of brown dust that got caught within the teeth of the soldiers.
Advancing through the doorway not a second after the grenade, a Ketsnatz patrol went in with rifles raised, and laser sights searching for a target through the dust. Upon the ground lay several corpses, and two badly injured Meqchistani warriors. They rolled upon the ground, moaning in agony, and clutching their score of wounds. The lead soldier, after glancing at their injuries, put two bullets into each man's head. They were far too wounded to be saved. The dust began to settle, and they could make out the interior of the cave. The ceiling rose about 5'7" from the ground, and sloped downwards at a steep angle, following the floor. Rough concrete layered the walls and ceiling, while on the ground there was heavily packed dirt and sand, indented from the hundreds of feet walking upon it.
From down the tunnel, a hurried whispering came forth, with the occasional murmurings of a most certainly insane man. Clutching a flashbang in his hand, the lead trooper pulled the pin, and flung it down the ramp. A small amount of light engulfed the lower ceiling, and a loud bang rolled out from the bunker, mixed with confused and pained shouts. The patrol quickly advanced down the ramp, and ran into a pair of Meqchistanian troopers clasping their ears in pain. They were quickly whapped upon the back of the head, and had their hands tied behind their back. They had only two clips of ammunition between them. A few feet ahead, behind a stack of boxes, barrels, and crates, lay an old elevator. Other than the soldiers in the tunnel, that was everything there was.
"Sir, it's all clear. We've got two prisoners, and seven enemy dead. Also looks like a barricaded elevator," yelled the Webel Soldat, "I can hear a few voices comign from down the shaft." He began to gingerly pull away boxes and barrels, looking for signs of any IED's.

Within Cananina, half a mile from the docks

"Let's go! Take up positions in that building," yelled a Leutnent into his com. Danny glanced over at him, and followed him into the building. Within were several large tarpaulins, and the smell of old canvas hung heavy in the air. It was horribly lit, the only light being provided by the multitude of broken dusty windows scattered all around. There were three levels, the top two being simple cat walks to get to heavy machinery. "Up to the upper floors, hurry, hurry! You," the Leutnent said, pointing to the XM410 gunners, "Get onto the top floor, and await my signal." The gunners nodded in understanding, and began to lug their weapon up to the top floor.
Danny and his fire team gingerly crept up to the wall facing out onto the docks. It was a little under half a mile away, but it was a hive of activity. Terrorist after terrorist scurried back and forth along the dock, some carrying boxes, others rifles, and a few with FIM-92 Stingers. It was complete and utter chaos, as the terrorists attempted to learn how to use the Stingers as fast as they could. One of them ripped a launched out of the case, and held it the wrong way. Sighting onto a flight of Harriers returning to the Daiwiz, he squeezed the trigger. The rocket shot forth from the tube, smashing into a squad of his own men, while he looked up into the sky trying to spot the missile. Unfortunately, the men were carrying explosives, which began to go off, flinging survivors every which way, including into the sea. A multitude of secondary explosions ripped a massive hole in the dock, and sinking a small corvette that was preparing to launch. The terrorist that fired the rocket was quickly gunned down by his own men.
"Pick your targets, hit the Stinger-users first. They will be a problem for reinforcements," whispered Danny, raising his rifle to his shoulder, poking the tip of the barrel out the window. He and his fire team awaited a single word.
"Fire," and with that over 70 men unleashed a hailstorm of bullets unto the terrorists. The XM-410 then opened up, ripping through terrorists, cover, boxes, and anything else that got in the path of it's .50 calibre bullets. Terrorist screams rang out, and all but one of the Stinger carriers was killed; the remaining one dropped his weapon onto the ground, and dove into the ocean. Those terrorists who had not been killed in the first round of firing, about 85, quickly dived for cover, and looked around for who or what had killed so many. Those few who stuck their heads out too far quickly had them removed, as the Morskoye-Soldat kept up a heavy fire on the cover. The XM-410 ripped right through the cover however, proving that the terrorists weren't safe anywhere.
Danny, the radio operator for the squad, heard a chirp come forth from his radio. Apparently, one of the Super-Cobras was standing by not a minute away. Speaking into this same radio, he replied informing them of the platoons position. While he did so, he reached into his side-pouch, and drew forth an IR-flare. Pressing the button, he flung it at the terrorists.
"Alpha Sierra-12 we have marked hostiles with IR flare. Confirm you see the flare over," spoke Danny into the mike, firing off a few shots at a terrorist who had gotten too careless.
"Uh, confirmed, we see the flare. Moving in to attack now, over." With these words, a single helicopter gunship roared overhead, shaking several windows, and flying so close its landing struts scraped the roof. As it crested the top, the M197 tri-barreled Gatling gun let loose with a roar. It spat forth several hundred rounds in a 3 second burst, ripping apart several terrorists. Those that survived in turn stood up to fire back, and were quickly cut down. Several Hydra rockets were launched with a loud woosh towards the terrorists, blowing several of them to bits. With this last salvo, the SuperCobra began to fly towards the AAS' waiting farther out. "Good luck boys, happy hunting."
Speaking into his mike, Danny muttered, "Hell of'a'nice shot. I think you've just done our job. Out." A small chuckle came over the mike, before Danny shut it off. A handful of terrorists were still alive, and a few attempted to run. Those that survived the rifle fire were rapidly cut in half by the XM-410. By the time the Leutnent gave the order to attack, there were only about 20 terrorists.
Every soldier, except those on the XM-410, ran down the stairs, jumping the last few feet, and awaited the order to charge. As the leutnent gave the order, every grenadier fired a single grenade towards targets that looked likely to them, and everyone else spewed forth from the doorway, heading for various peices of cover. Danny and his fire team came up beside a large packing crate, containing some form of fish. Looking over the top, he noticed some movement coming from behind a salt laden barrel. He quickly grabbed a grenade from his belt, pulled the pin, and chucked it over the side. A few seconds later, a loud thump, and a pair of screams came forth from behind the barrel, blowing it up into the air. All around, terrorists began to stand up, the first of them being accidently shot. The others were quickly tied up, and placed under guard beside a small shack with a fishing boat inside.
Off in the distance, the first landing craft were seen quickly speeding towards the docks. Finally, the war could begin for the Daiwizian military.

HQ-5

"Alright, move!" Whispered Peter.
One by one, the 20 man team jumped and hopped down over the side of the wall leading into HQ-5. Coincidentally, at the same time, HQ-1 was being assaulted by Daiwiz forces on the other side of Meqchistan.

The Shadows of the Generals in the windows hadn't yet noticed the 20 man stealth squad inflitrating the HQ.
"Take out those cameras!" Ordered Pete.
"Yes sir!" Said a member of the squad. He raised his silenced HK-416 and fired 12 shots at the CCTV Cameras operating around the inside of the courtyard of the HQ.
Now they would know something was up.

"Indigo Charlie Five, this is Bravo Kilo Nine, we got the 49th Armored Platoon and the 91st Infantry Platoon on their way to assist, ETA 45 minutes."
Peter answered the call.

"Roger Bravo Kilo Nine. Thanks for the assist, out."

They had sent the platoons because they knew the fighting was about to get messy.

Subject: Operation Terminator

Under direct command of Vamperial Grand Naval Headmaster Lee King, you are hereby given strict orders to conduct an assault upon Musala and it's airport within the next day. Expect no allied forces in the area but expect to be heavily outnumbered by enemy forces. This is a vital area in order to take the Musala Airport. If we take the airport, it will cut off vital supply lines into the mountains. Vamperial Armour has change course and are heading in the direction of Musala.

Lynion Rangers are inbound to secure the town of Gik-Dine.

I wish you luck

"Shit," snapped Rathma as Revan just shaked his head. "Talk about being outnumbered,"

"How many troops are we expecting in the city?" Revan asked the operator.

"We could be looking at 10,000," replied the runner.

"Gather the men," ordered Revan.

A couple of hours later...

"When you signed up, you pledged your alliegence to the Vamperial Kingdom and her Colonies," shouted Revan as Rathma stood next to him as the Black and Shadow Assassin's gathered in front of them to here the speech. "You signed your life to fight against injustice, greed, curity and piracy where ever it may take us," contiuned Revan as several remembered their papers. "When the Shadow Assassin's were born, we hunted down Pirate Officals that stood against us. We assassinated hundreds of officals during wars and never were we mentioned in history. We like the darkness and the shadows. You fight for the man next to you and you fight for your mates," he contiuned as the sight of Chinocks, Blackhawks and Gunships could be seen. "As of today, we're going to punch a hole right where it'll hurt the enemy. We're going to be outnumbered but we got the strength of our forefathers and we have mateship. Those can't be broken no matter what happens," he contiuned. "Today, we're going to punch that hole and ride into history as the force that made the enemy turn their backs on our allies," concluded Revan as the men were inspired. "Fight for the Motherland..."

"And Die for Her Causes!" shouted back the Assassin's in unisim. "Darkness be our friend," they added together.

There was little time to spare as Revan and Rathma ordered their officers to gather together in the war room while the Rangers take up position in the Lynion occupied town. There they devised a plan to take the city with only 140 troops, plenty of air support and armour support. There was no mistaken it could be their last battle together. They never expected to live through it so each soldier wrote their last letter and their wills back to their families. Each drank the blood of a Grizzy Bear found in Lynscert Mountains as a sign they would fight down to the last drop of blood. There was little chance any of them would live through this suicidal operation.

Operation Terminator

Objective: Secure Musala City and Musala Airport

Lynion Numbers:

140 Elite Spec Ops
2 Brigade's of Armour inbound (ETA: 1 day)
Air Support on Standby

Enemy numbers:...

50,000-60,000

Lynion's will be outnumbered to around 10:1.

Around about 2300 Hours

The Blackhawks were filled with Black and Shadow Assassin's as the helicopters silently went across the open plains towards their mission. Onboard were veteran fighters ready to get their hands dity and facing a fact not many will come out alive. There was no reason to lie to the troops. They were going to be out-numbered on a scale of 10 to 1. It was 10 enemy troops killed for every one Lynion. All hope rest on the LYA1 Wolfhounds, APC's and Lynx Battle Tanks including around about 600 Lynion Hunters inbound.

Revan took a few deep breathes as he checked his weapon as they came closer to their target. The city seemed so peaceful from above but the garrison in the city would surely hold onto the city for as long as possible. Each Lynion knew they were facing death but often they spat death in the face. Nevertheless, to many historians it would be considered a suicidal mission. However, to Lee King, Revan and Rathma Phoenix, it would be considered as another day at the office.

The night sky was suddenly lit up as a number of payloads of high explosive bombs destroyed the power stations, communication towers and the runway at the airfield. The sky was lit up with red fireballs as the enemy would know something much worse was coming towards them. The city went into darkness as fire crews rushed to the scenes and started to gain control on the fires. The Blackhawks landed silently on the outer plains near the city as the Assassin's turned on their night vision goggles and checked their weapons. Many were armed with SAR-21 assault rifles, G36 Assault Rifles, Styer AUG Assault Rifles and the officers were armed with FN F2000 Assault Rifles. Other personal were armed with heavier weapons, sniper rifles or various submachine guns to clear out houses suspected of holding enemy troops.

Operation Terminator has started and there was chance to abort it.

HQ-5

The forces had not yet noticed the 20 man squad in HQ-5. The generals had presumably gone to sleep, the lights had turned out. They had guessed that no-one had even been monitoring the CCTV cameras?

But then, three armed men steeped warily out of one of the buildings, as the 20 man team took cover where they couldn't see them. Now that the lights where presumably the generals were had been turned off, it was only the moonlight that lit the courtyard up now. The three Meqchistani men yawned as they walked closer to the CCTV cameras. Two were smoking.

"See? They have gone out!" Said one of them.
"But.. how?" Said the one at the back.
"I don't know.. Get up there and look."
"Why should I? I can't climb for shit."
"Hmm.. that's why the invented the ladder."
The man in the middle remained quiet.

The one that was told to climb to look at the CCTV cameras would make it no further once he had grabbed the ladder. One of the Special Forces, Luke, had silently jogged in between by two military vehicles, and the ladder was just past them. He had his silenced SIG P226 ready to aim. Although it was dark, the slight shadow against the dark sky made it easy to make a head shot.

The Meqchistani man walked past the military trucks, suspecting nothing, when a hot led bullet punched into his brain. He fell to the ground, Luke grabbed his legs and hid him in between the two trucks.

"Did you hear that?" The man who was in the middle said.
"What?"
The man in the middle looked around.
"Abbas!" He shouted. No response. The two Meqchistani's looked at each other, wide eyed.
"Abbas! Stop playing around!" Still no response.

"Okay, we're gonna take them out." Whispered Pete.
5 of the 20 man team stood, still invisible. They aimed their silenced HK416s, and fired a shot each, killing the Meqchistani's.

[OOC] Crappy post warning.

Somewhere between Chiang Ming and Milay

Under the cover of darkness C-130 airplanes started to drop, the 73rd Commando-Reconnaissance Brigade of the 17th Legion.
Minutes after hundreds of parachutes opened and the paratroopers were making their way towards land.
Winds and visibility were favorable at the start but soon they changed direction and the commandos landed around 300 meters from the city of Milay and almost 5 kilometers from their intended drop zone.As soon as they got in range,a firestorm started, skies were lighted by flak and tracer rounds,as paratroopers were being cut down by the AA fire coming from defender's ground positions.
From the initial force of 1356 Paratroopers, only 740 survived or were capable of fighting and tried to dig in and establish a defensive near position a big sand dune.
Bullets were flying all over their heads but soon after they started to return fire, their M21 rifles were effective at the range of 500 meters.
Portable mortars were saving ammo,as well as the M32 MGL grenade launcher teams.Deeply dug in they waited for allied forces to arrive and relieve them.
Commander in chief of the Operation Colonel Du Gaule, knew that they were sitting ducks only waiting for enemy tanks and other armored vehicles to cut them down.As the firefight started,it was obvious that the entire city is alerted and that the enemy commanders thought that this was a major assault on Milay,so Du Gaule thought that it would be possible to keep their main forces locked down in a fight here,so other Coalition members could make a blitzkrieg stilled attack on other weaker lines of enemy defense, like a flanking or rear assault.
The main Directorate's force hasn't even started to land so any help from the fleet would be reduced to air assaults or naval cruise missile bombardment.
Because of this major problem in Directorate's plans,Du Gaule sent a following message to allied forces.

"This is Colonel James Du Gaule of the Directorate's 73rd Commando-Reconnaissance Brigade of the 17th Legion,we are requesting immediate support from allied forces close to the city of Milay.
Our air mission failed and we are currently involved in heavy fighting with the terrorist forces,we have 30% casualties and will not withstand these ferocious attacks. We have gathered a mass of intelligence on cities defenses, our coordinates are 45' 13" North 64' 34" West."

Temmin Airport

Another separate operation was carried by the Directorate,as the 432nd Air Cavalry Regiment of the 17th Legion was flying on their way towards Temmin Airport,to refuel and start operating from there.
Their goal was to support allied forces in anti-tank and area sweeping activities,as well as search and destroy missions in the area between Temmin and Milay.
Temmin was captured by Garmidian forces few days before,to establish a forward base of operations for Coalition forces.
432nd was mainly a tank-hunter helicopter unit, consisting of numerous Apache gunships and Eurocopter Tigers, also there was a small detachment of Huey helicopters as well as "Hind" gunships with a battalion of Special Forces attached, many of them Veterans of the Imperium's war.
As the numerous helicopters approached the Airport, following message was sent to allied forces controlling the city.

"Temmin Airport this is 432nd Air Cavalry Regiment of the Directorate's Skyguard, requesting authorization to land"

Onboard the Flagship, The Valient

"Sir," shouted out Captain Mac as he stepped next to Lee in the war room. "Operation Terminator has started but we lost contact with all Black and Shadow Assassin units working in the area,"

"How can the best squads in the Vamperial Military simply disapper?" demanded Lee as Mac handed him the report.

"We lost contact shortly after zero hour," contiuned Mac as he gave what information he had.

"I just hope they know what they're doing," muttered Lee. "What's the report on Mualar anyway?"

"Janta Squadron has bombed key communication centres and power stations before aborting the mission after heavy AA fire coming from the airport," reported Mac.

"We must pray the Assassin's can make a name for themselves," ended Lee.

Musala City

All the excitment had being drainned as the civilians returned to their homes after watching a number of explosions go off across the city. None had noticed the vanishing figures that crept through the shadows awaiting for the unsuspecting. These men were trained to live in the shadows as they hunted through homes looking for safe places to sleep. The units had split up into 70 two men teams. They had orders to scare the living crap out of their enemy which meant they were to become like ghosts. Ghosts that slit people's thoart during the night. Ghosts that showed no mercy. Ghosts that had no names. Ghosts that took what they wanted and left without leaving a trace. That was what the Shadow and the Black Assassin's lived by each day even if it meant being cut off by command.

The Meqchistani Coast

Sporadic bursts of gunfire continued to arc over the the Marines' heads, but it wasn't anything they couldn't handle. Entrenched on the beach, with their weapons facing inland, the Marines were in the best of positions; they had already beaten back three counter-attacks by the Mreqchistani militia that night. The enemy's armoured support had consisted of sixteen T-55 tanks, which were destroyed in the first, fierce hour of fighting by low-flying F-35Bs. The rest had been a massacre; as the vanguard was reinforced by the bulk of the MER, the meqchistanis had attempted to overrun the Anemonian positions. With machine-guns lining their positions, the Anemonians had simply pulled their triggers until there were no more standing foes. The rest had been a clean-up operation, with Leclerc tanks rolling onto the sand, the herald of doom for the enemy. Their smoothbore guns quickly eradicated the enemy's remaining vehicles, and they routed soon afterwards. The rest of the night had been a series of half-hearted attempts to drive the Anemonians back into the sea; most of the time, the Meqchistanis hadn't even made it to the Anemonian positions due to fire support from the fleet. The marines were in a secure position; all they needed to do now was wait for further orders.

Listening to the birds chirp, the Airborne sergeant warily pushed the bushes apart as he stepped out into the open. Behind him, his squad's automatic rifleman was covering his path, but he couldn't help but feel exposed as he crossed the road, weapon in hand. Finally making it to the other side, he rolled into the bushes there and emerged on the other side, where a group of Airborne soldiers sat, waiting. Among them was his superior officer. "Sir." he said. "All positions secure." The officer nodded and murmured into his radio, waiting for a moment until he received a reply. He turned to the sergeant.

"All positions are secure. Keep it that way until the Marines arrive, then we'll be reinforced by the Marine Recce 5th Battalion and elements of the 4th Army Rangers Regiment."

"The Rangers?"

"There's no such things as ghosts," proclaimed the private as he marched alongside a partol heading into the 'Danger Zone'. "It's just...your imagination playing with you," he added.

"Say that to him," growled the corporal as they went past a decapiated officer. "They say the ghosts decapitate the officers just to gain respect amongest other ghosts," he added sharply as the partol of ten started to head down into an alley way. "I want everyone to whistle the tune 'Great Escape' so we can be calm," ordered Corporal Mac Will.

The entire partol started to whistle the tune of 'Great Escape' aloud as they headed further into the darkness. The corporal glanced about as they pass by several bags of rubbish. Unaware to them, a pair of eyes opened up silently and waited for the partol to go pass by him. Opposite of the eyes were another set of eyes. Both pairs watched the partol as a private got in front of the corporal. The whistling was strong as the partol contiuned to head through the alley way.

"Now who said this place was haunted?" smiled the cocky private as he turned around. "Hello?" he called out.

The private was standing alone as he suddenly felt his nervous start to attack him. He wasn't sure what to do as he aimed his automative rifle and fired a few rounds wildly into the alley way. Sweat started to pour from his brow as he nervously headed back into the alley way. He wasn't sure what to expect. It could've being his imagaination or the others could be playing a practical joke on him. That was before he felt the cold hard steel of a blade run through his thoart and then tearing his neck apart. His lifeless body collasped into the hands of the assassin as the body was quietly layed against a wall as the two men vanished into darkness.

Nobody was safe from the Black and Shadow Assassin's. Shortly after Corporal Will's partol went missing, there was a car bomb attack that killed several high ranking officals. There was no traces as to who or how it happened. People started to believe the End of Time itself had arrived. Hundreds of civilians paniced as the local garrison tried to calm the situation down. There was little to say since hundreds of partols have gone missing throughout the city. Was it a coniscdence?

Assault on Milay Begins

That was the only thing that Private Paul Gregorson could think about as the VII Corps rolled on the road to Milay. This attack meant it all. The decapitation of Meqchistan itself.

He was handed a pair of binoculars. He stood up, to the machine gun on his IFV, and looked out to Milay.

He saw utter hell. Bombs everywhere. Hell in the form of bombers and jets filling the sky as the far off whistle of missiles hitting the ground filled the ears of everyone. The civilians he thought, the hell they must be going through.
