Mjöllnir's Ice (Open, MT, Introduction).
"Status normal. Approacing target."
Corporal Karina Bildt tore her JAS 39 Gripen through the skies of Smaloan, along with the rest of her squad. This was her first run in the Air Force, and she was proud to finally be out here, in the uniform, taking part in Operation Mjöllnir's Ice, the first military operation of Norberd in the twenty-first century. The rebel Smalonians would be destroyed by the Royal Norberdian Air Force before the KIA League ended and the county's short lived Stalinist push for independance crushed. She didn't much care for the political side of the matter; she just wanted to get out, involved in a real military operation.
Karina soon located the guerilla base her squad was supposed to bomb. Not far from it were several bomb factories, which the Army would take care of soon enough. She could identify several nearby homes, most of them damaged one way or another. Hardly unexpected considering what the rebels had done.
"Weapons free."
Karina locked onto to the base and dropped four Mark 82 bombs, along with the rest of her squadron. They hit the base and created mayhem there, a large explosion booming out followed by about half of the base covered in fire, the other half looking like an earthquake had just happened. She dropped about two cluster bombs onto the base, the flames spreading. Soon, the entire base was radically on fire, a heavy amount of the rebels destroyed by the looks of it. She soon started flying backward, towards Arveld Air Base, passing a few other squadrons on their way to begin the strategic bombing campaign of the operation which would be followed by mass carpetbombing which would turn the communist forces into a collection of huge clusterfucks.
Karina expected the foreigners would intervene soon.
* * *
The bombs were falling heavily now. Karina was dropping all of her bombs on rural areas, destroying many factories and ending the lives of even more innocents. She had shot the wings off a rebel Gripen, and that had crashed into a bomb factory. This little town was being absolutely destroyed by the Air Force, beaten onto its knees.
As another rebel Gripen took off, she started tracking it immediately and locked onto it quickly. She fired one AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles at the rebel, but he luckily dodged it and drove the missile into a Air Force airplane. The pilot started firing at her. She started firing back, and soon a few other Royal Gripens started attacking the pilot. Eventually, the rebel had five Sidewinders on him. The aircraft exploded in hellfire.
"Mission complete."
As Karina started returning to the Base, below lay the ruins of a small industrial town, destroyed to the point of beyond recognition.
* * *
After the carpetbombing of the small town, about enough HMMWVs to carry a platoon started driving briskly through the ruins. Behind them were several Pansarbandvagn 302 APCS, and about ten Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks were guarding the group. There were about two platoons in these HMMWVs and Pansarbandvagns, backed closely by artillery and air support. Well, the air support was really just bombing the shit out of every living thing in all of their targets, followed by the Army moving in to advance to their target, which would just be bombed again. What a pattern.
Soon, the platoons found themselves in the cold, snowy countryside again. They pushed through the countryside easily, shooting everything in sight. They were not taking any chances at all.
After about three hours pushing into the country, the platoons stopped for the night. They set up a camp, just outside a rebel townm which they would begin assaulting tomorrow. A few soldiers were desinated to be on patrol for an hour, about five fireteams. They would change in a hour, and the replacement soldiers would be replaced in a hour, and so on.
Operation Mjöllnir's Ice wasn't designed to take chances.

Your Excellency President Andrew Hundley,
Due to your recent inquiry, I would like to inform you about the situation in Smaloan, a breakaway province in our nation. A Stalinist guerrilla force has seized control of the county in a bloody coup d'etat in such speed that our own intelligence services are still in the dark over this organisation. They declared their independance so as to escape 'the dictatorship of Royalty', in reference to Queen Edla III, which is a false accusation. Norberd is a parliamentry democracy based off the Westminster system.
Our military has begun attacking the rebels now via bombing.

The Order is fully willing to devote special forces units to fighting the Communists in Norberd. Communists are a disgusting, vile lot that must be destroyed and re-educated in order for Man to advance. All conventional force will be permitted for use against the Stalinists, and the Norberd armed forces will be given permission to use several of our observation and non-nuclear weapons satellites.

OOC: Very good intro. Just a tip regarding Swedish grammar: in Swedish, the definite article is a suffix, not a separate word like in English. Therefore, 'The Kingdom of Norbered' would translate to 'Kungariket Norbered', and 'Ministry of Foreign Affairs' would become 'Utrikesministeriet', or 'Ministeriet för Utländska Affärer'. Here's a helpful link.

The JAS Gripens which attacked Smaloan - the breakaway Stalinist republic - were from the Royal Norberdian Air Force, not from those rebels. The rebels operated stolen Norberdian-owned aircraft, mostly the JAS Gripen. Dear Your Excellency President Jonathan Roosevelt,
Whenever the rebels seized control of the county, they overwelhmed Smaloan Air Base - along with Army Base - and seized all the equipment there, including several JAS Gripens. They did not steal anything from any military base outside Smaloan. Nearly all rebel Gripens were destroyed in a battle over Ardina in which the rebels made the error of throwing all their planes into the battle, only to be destroyed by the RNAF. The rebels currently have, on land, Leopard 2A4 battle tanks, Pansarbandvagn 302s, Combat Vehicle 90s and artillery weapons, along with AK5s, Kulsprutepistol m/45s, Psg 90s and Glock 19s for their ground troops. We hope that the Grand Duchy understands that we do not know of the rebels' numbers and the amount of the aforementioned weapons they have in stock, due to them having stolen our equipment on many different occasions including times when we have not confirmed they stole the equipment, and requests if the Grand Duchy has anymore questions about the situation so we can answer them all in our next message.

Norberd thanks the New British Shores for supporting our country in our campaign to restabilize the Smaloan county. Several other nations, Noordeinde and the USPA, have sent vessels as well, one aircraft carrier from the former and a rather large deployment from the latter. We would only expect a frigate or two from the NBS; however, feel free to send as many vessels as your country pleases. However, excessive deployments are disencouraged as they could be used as invasion fleets for use against Norberd.

We do not mind and we do understand, if it wasnt against our Navies policy i would've sent fewer ships, but it is against policy to send fewer Escorts. We do not mind our units being under surviellance, so long as it does not go to far.
Captain Sigge Fradberg looked out at the sea with his binoclaurs, his dark hair cut cleanly as naval standards permitted. He was a young captain of thirty, in charge of the KNS King Viktor II, nicknamed 'Vikkie' after the nickname for the late king, who had died three years ago. That had been a day of national mourning, Fradberg remembered well.
After a few minutes of watching the sea, he spotted a large ship - an aircraft carrier by the looks of it - heading towards Norberdian waters. His face remained expressionless, and remained so as two other, smaller ships appeared in view.
He let go of his binoclaurs, knowing they would remain on his neck thanks to some string. He walked down to Communications, and, after a few minutes of talking to his aides, who explained the vessels were from Noordeinde and NBS, he picked up the radio.
"Hr.Ms Middelburg, unidentified friendly vessels, this is Captain Fradberg of the KNS King Viktor II, please regroup with us ASAP, Over."

Sigge nodded as the voice came from over the radio. He asked for a glass of water from one of his aides, and about twenty seconds after he asked, he was sipping a glass of iced purified water. An alcoholic in Norberd might mistake his water for a glass of the finest vodka, due to remarkable similarlity between this water and East Livian Vodka, by far the most popular in the country.
He gave a moment of thought to the reply. "Captain Pitt, it is good to have you here. Regroup with us, we are currently in Norberdian waters near the breakaway Smaloanian waters. We are expecting other foreign vessels soon, including what appears to be a..."
He glanced, once again, at the details of the USPA fleet, quite large by his standards for this operation. He grimaced once again, his slight paranoiagetting at him again.

Approaching Norberd Airspace
Unlike most of the countries getting involved, the Order was sending its entire force via aircraft. Then again, there weren't many soldiers heading there. However, the biggest reason for this was simply the fact that the GWO was facing a war at home, and needed all the ships it could muster to fight the Communists attacking Magna Polis.
There were six An-225 cargo planes carrying men and equipment from the Army Advanced Paradrop Service, Marine Corps Fallschirmjaegers, the Federal Guard (Including ACF soldiers), the Special Tactics Force, and, unknowingly to everyone, members of the Gedanke-Polizei secret police force.
Escorting the air convoy were 20 F-22s and five EA-18G Growlers, each plane ready to blow whatever attacks it to hell in a heartbeat. Each plane, including the transports, had the Grand World Order Federal Air Force Coat of Arms printed rather visibly on them.
As they approached Norberd airspace, a radio call went out requesting permission to enter airspace, as to avoid getting attacked by Norberd's own air force.
Sigge looked at the details again. In a minute or so, he was handed some message from Command about how the USPA ships appeared to already be landing, the arrogant bastards. They knew shit about the current clusterfuck of what is called 'Smaloanian aerospace' so far, and for all the intelligence bastards knew, the rebels could have bloody thermonuclear weapons in their arsenal. He sighed at his little moment of idiocy, and downed the last of his water.
He finally satisfied his primal urges and ordered some fine vodka. When you came from Lunsk, you either drank vodka or you were the scapegoat of the local community.
In his deep, Slavic accent he replied; "Captain, it appears that USPA forces have already begun landing, without previous surveillance missions or anything of the sort..."
He paused for a moment as some new documents were handed to him.
"Captain, it also appears that forces from the New British Shores have arrived and several F35s have begun some form of mission, surveillance I would expect, over Smaloan."
((OOC: Norberd would take up Finland. Smaloan would be in the lower north of the country, which is extremely cold and, at least in Norberd, snows all year round.))

At Lunsk Air Base, one of the regular office transmission officers had recieved the transmission from no other than the fascist might of the Grand World Order, whom's arrival in Norberd was kept secret by the government, to avoid any protests from the many socialists and communists in the country, which could possibly turn into full scale riots, especially with the communists supporting Stoklomolvi, which had been one of their policies during 2005's election. Of course, they had only gained one seat.
This regular office transmission officer, know well as a 'office junkie', brought the message to Air Marshal Fredrick Lincar, who, after a few minutes of informative discussion with the office junkie, issued a reply via radio to the GWO forces, of course secret.
"Orderian forces, this is Air Marshal Fredrick Lincar granting you permission to land in either Smaloan, the county controlled by the rebels, or in Lunsk. Over."

((OOC: I'm using Finland for geography, so yes. Lunsk would probably be about the size of County Londonderry from Northern Ireland, small population.))
As Sigge was beginning to enjoy his fine vodka, he nearly spilt the fine drink whenever a new radio call from the damned USPA forces was issued. He rubbed his eyes, remembering he hadn't slept for a day or so now. He would soon be thinking the sun was red now...
He activated the radio and began speaking into it. "USPA forces, we thank for reconning the beach and would like to inform you that several of our own surveillance missions are being conducted as we speak and that it appears there is little populace for about twenty miles from the beach...Over."

The New British Shores' aircraft would find nothing for about fifteen miles, except a small ghost town last resided in the nineteenth century. However, several rebel land bases were near that ghost town, with about ten thousand rebel soldiers located in them. The rebels seemed unaware of their presencew, though it was clear that the rebels' guard was up; tanks were everywhere, troops on high alert.
The AA guns were manned, and Leopard 2A4s were patrolling the outside of the base constantly.

On the beach, 1st LT Hal Moore was directing the unloading, currently he had 34 Leopard 2A6 MBTs, 76 M2A3 Bradleys, 7 Palladins, and 945 Men on the Beach, and was beginning to move inland
As the aeroplanes from the NBS took a dive towards the ground, they remained unspotted by the rebels. However, the rebels were starting to suspect something in the air, not supporting the cause of Smaloan. Eventually, after several heated arguements and gunshots, it was decided that the firing of the AA guns would be too much of a risk, stupid and idiotic.
The radar systems seemed to be failing to pick up anything, but they might pick up something, if luck smiled upon them.

Arrogant bastard, thought Sigge as he listened to the reply from what appeared to be Colonel William Mooreland. Due to USPA intervention in other troubled locations in the world, many Norberdians disliked the military of the USPA and the government of the USPA, which many thought of as 'neoconservative', the most unpopular and hated political group in Norberd. Captain Sigge was one of the group who disliked the USPA.
However, his reply did not reflect his personal thoughts at all. "Colonel, I would expect that several rebel bases lie..."
He paused the radio so he could shuffle through the documents handed to him by one of his aides a minute ago.

"a hour and a half, we might end up doing a missile strike shortly thereafter"
1 1/2 Hours later, 285 Miles above the surface of the earth
KH-12 ReconSat #4 passed over Norberd and the Rebel Area, it quickly located the Rebel Bases, this was information was quickly passed to Admiral John Billings on the USS Anzio, who order Anzio and Bunker Hill to launch Cruise Missile strikes on the Bases, soon thereafter 40 Tomahawk Cruise Missile shot out of VLS cells towards the Bases, half carried 2,000 pound Warheads, the rest Carried Submunitions, essentially 20 mortar rounds to the remaining 20 missiles
As soon as the first missile was fired from the NBS aircraft, AA gunfire tore through the skies towards their position, the gun crews firing blindly towards where they had seen the shot and the surrounding area. The missiles themselves had damaged the radar station severely, rendering it rather unusable.
The radar stations in the other bases, however, quickly picked up the aircraft thanks to their break of cover. The small collection of bases had, as was expected, several SAMs located in the base. The F-35s soon had four MIM-104 Patriots tearing through the skies towards them, four Patriots aimed at each aircraft.
* * *
The Tomahawks tore through the bases violently. The first few missiles devastated the bases, destroying many of the bases' vehicles. The next missiles tore through the very foundations of the bases, turning the bases into an engulfment of flame and death, tanks on fire, huge explosions happening every couple of minutes, the bases essentially burnt to rubble.
At least the thirty-two Patriots had been fired at the foreign aeroplanes only minutes before.

"Missiles inbound, all aircraft deploy countermeasures and catch so sky!" Storm lead ordered. The Fighters weaved close to the ground until the mssiles closed. Once close enough they deployed Chaff and Flarces and pulled up sharply. The Missiles that didn't go for the countermeasures were unable to follow the F-35's on their high-g climb. One persistant missile got through and clipped Storm Four's wing. The F-35's returned to their patrol pattern as anotehr Squadron was launched from the RNS Knight
It had been too soon after the destruction of the base for the USPA forces to deploy into them. Fires engulfed the base and showed no sign of stopping for a while, with many gargantuan explosions adding fuel to the fire. Several burning rebels ran out of the buildings and vehicles, screaming for help as their skin was burnt slowly off their skin. The explosions seemed to be increasing every minute, until eventually the buildings were reduced to little more than rubble, the rebels all burnt to death by the fires.
The fires seemed to increase, and soon caught onto the nearby forests. Slowly, the forest fires began spreading until they created a huge forest wildfire which was increasing in all directions, north, east, south and west, the beautiful forests of which so many creatures resided in being destroyed in flames, many of the animals in the forests dying, with only a few escaping. HM Government would throw its stack when it heard about this.
The bases were, essentially, unusable.

GWO Air Group, Norberg Airspace
Field Marshal Imorr Shan thought for a moment at the options presented. He knew that the rebels had hardly any air power remaining, and the aircraft he had present could attack ground sites that posed a threat to him and his men. He quickly made his decision. His plane, which was laden with the higher officers needed to conduct the GWO's forces, would land in Norberg, and then the high command would lead them from there. The other cargo aircraft would circle above friendly territory while the combat aircraft moved forward and secured an airfield.
The plan was quickly sent to Norberg air command, and the An-225s quickly complied with their orders while the F-22s and EA-18Gs sped forward, with anti-radiation missiles prepared to eliminate any RADAR sites that pinged them, a typical SEAD ("Wild Weasel" in RL America) tactic.
With little air power left, and with three bases destroyed, there was no resistance towards the NBS aircraft, though the flames might catch onto their wings if they flew much lower, which would contribute to the disaster. In the skies, a JAS Gripen was viewable as it dropped water onto the flames.
A few rare Smaloanian White Owls could be seen, attempting to flutter away as their wings caught on fire.
* * *
While the water bladders did assist in putting out the fires, it did not stop them. The fires raged onward, the water seeming to have been useless in the fight. It could've been known by the USPA forces that many precious animals lived in these forests, and that many of them would have their numbers near depleted today. Whenever this was discovered by the enviromentally concerned HM Government, they would lose the head with the USPA.
* * *
The GWO forces were actually landing near the forest fires, the flames burning in the distance. Considering that those three bases were the main rebel base for about twenty-five miles, the aeroplanes flying through the skies would find nothing but fires, rubble and death.
There were no radar sites for miles.
Whenever the Orderian forces landed near Lunsk Air Base, a dark haired man wearing ceramonial army uniform soon sped up in an HMMWV towards them. Inside was Air Marshal Fredrick Lincar, the 45-year-old in charge of Lunsk Air Base. The HMMWV stopped, and Lincar exited and greeted the leader of the Orderian forces.
"I am Air Marshal Fredrick Lincar," he said. "I'm from Lunsk Air Base. A couple of kilometres ahead of you is Smaloan. USPA kicked off a forest fire after directing forty Tomahawks at three rebel bases."
With that, heavy snow started falling once again. It had been an hour since the last snowfall, and soon the snow went up to most of the men's thighs. "I'd recommend we get back to the Air Base before the snow gets any worse, or do you have any other plans, Field Marshal?"

The only thing he could do was to wait untill the wheater would be better, and let his pilots know that all of them were on stand-by.
Between the forest which was currently in flames - Fraja Forest - and another, equally large forest was a small patch of waist-high snow. With approximately one bird species already extinct, the wind forced a few sparks from the Fraja fires onto the tall trees of Thar, and those sparks set the course for another gargantuan forest fire. Luckily, most of the creatures living in Thar Forest had managed to escape just in time, meaning species like the Smaloanian White Owl, the Snowy Eagle and other rare breeds would survive.
However, the forest fires started raging onward, though the flames in Fraja had been reduced to small fires which would probably be elimnated with a few more water tankers. Most of the trees in Fraja, however, were nonexistant now.
Soon, about ten water tankers from the Royal Norberdian Air Force were flying high, and started dropping their water quickly, before returning to base for refills and returning to put out more of the flames. The flames kept spreading due to the strong winds in the forest, and thus more water tankers were starting to come in every 'deployment'.

Your Excellency President Andrew Hundley,
While I do respect the effort you and your country are making to curb the rebels in Smaloan, our government is most disappointed that the forces of the USPA have caused gargantuan forest fires in Smaloan, estimated to have killed many of the rare Smaloanian White Owl and possibly destroying one other breed in the wild.
Our air force reports that the USPA fired forty Tomahawk missiles at three rebel bases, all of them surrounded by thick forests, and these missiles created mass fires in the bases and caused the wildfires which have devastated the populations of many stunning creatures residing in Fraja and now Thar forests.
While we respect the work of the USPA in putting out these wildfires, we ask what prompted the USPA to fire missiles at bases surrounded by forests. Our reports suggested that your own forces had beforehand already conducted surveillance missions, so the leaders of the USPA forces cannot claim they did not know of the forests.
Note that if the USPA aircraft continue attempting to put out the flames, it is likely that the icey airs will damage the aircraft.
Signed,
Ada Arvald

The icey air soon started causing problems for the Norberdian water tankers. Soon, many of the tankers were reporting damages to their aircraft due to ice, and were forced to travel back to Lunsk Air Base. As the winds increased, more and more of the aircraft were being badly damaged, until eventually, one of the aircraft started crashing towards the ground due to the ice.
As it hit the ground, a huge explosion of flames expanded the forest fires massively. The forest fires soon covered the majority of the forest, and with the icey air badly damaging the aircraft, the best one could hope for was for these forest fires to end themselves.

We did know of the Forests, but what we did not know about was the close proximity of the Fuel tanks to the Forests.
The Waters tankers Mooreland had sent up had a Chemical Compound Mixture of Water Foam, which, in this case, would after a certain amount of the Water Foam was on a area, the flames would not be able to spread there. This water had been designed to stop WildFires in the USoPA, and would work just as well here

Your Excellency President Andrew Hundley,
While we respect the facts that the USPA failed to know of fuel reserves being near the three bases - despite previous surveillance missions - we fail to see the logic that firing forty missiles into a base surrounded by thick forests with many vehicles inside it would not cause gargantuan fires, such as the ones we are currently experiencing.
Our country is disappointed by these acts, and while we note happily that the USPA is stopping the fires spreading by using what appears to be water foam, we are still critical of the firing of forty missiles, the destruction of our main former bases in the rebel county - which would be put back into use after the war ended - and, among other things, the wildfires which have essentially destroyed two of our nation's greatest forests bar small enclaves.

While the water foam did protect what little enclaves of trees there were in the two forests, the majority of the forests were burning at near unstoppable rates, all the trees lighting the night sky frighteningly. The wildfires would probably burn themselves out in a few hours, but the destruction of these forests would later be killed 'one of the greatest disasters to occur in Norberd in the modern era'.
And nearly the entire population of the Kingdom would blame the USPA.

Of course the rebels don't respect our economy, they're trying to weaken us. But we would expect some respect for our economy from fellow sovereign states, and a complete disregard for our nation's soil and enviroment is not welcome. Smaloan is a county, not a country.
And our Air Force had previously not conducted surveillance missions in the area surrounding the area of the base, but we would believe that the USPA forces would have scouted ahead to discover the fuel tanks and not fire forty missiles directly towards three bases.

As I have said before, we had not conducted surveillance missions into the area around the rebel bases, so our air force had no way to know of the fuel tanks either.
Now, we have begun surveillance missions throughout the county and we estimate that some of the rebel bases do have fuel reserves near them, about 1/4 of the bases for a vareity of reasons, though the results are still being verified probably. We feel that the USPA should not have fired forty Tomahawks at a few bases, due to it being, quite frankly, rather obvious that a fire would break out and possibly lead to a forest fire like the one we have seen today.
We would find it hard to believe that the tempature in a fuel tank would show up the same as a tent most likely full of troops, and another surveillance mission - not thermal imaging - could have provided the USPA forces with knowledge of the fuel tanks, rather than conducting one surveillance operation and then suddenly firing forty missiles at it.
We feel that this debate has gone on to long, and we would like to move on from this matter.
Signed,
Ada Arvald
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norberd.

As the USPA troops advanced inland, they would eventually enter the forests which had just been burnt down, the trees black, ashes scattered and dead creatures everywhere. The remains of several human beings, including several children whom's faces were disgustingly destroyed to the point all human beings would be unable to resist vomiting at the sight of it, were scattered around the forest, though at least the snow was coming back on.
In the distance, there was a large town which could be entered and exited via a motorway. Leopard 2A4s patrolled this motorway efficently. The town seemed to be completely black, probably due to the rebels ordering a blackout. Or, there could be another reason.

Minister Lindberg,
To bad of this second situation that's now going on. I hope the USPA forces will from now on be more carefull with the beautifull forests which charactarise The Kingdom of Norbed.
I guess if you would like to have more control on them, you shouldn't allow them to let them work on themselves on your soil. If I were you I would place your highest command above theirs, so that from now on all orders come from your Government and from no one else.
But about the Hr.Ms Holland (http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss250/krijk/NoordeindeNavyHollandClass.jpg?t=1241982300), The Kingdom of Norberd government can expect this Coastal Patrol Vessel within 24 hours. And as I and the Noordeinde Congress sad before it's two main tasks will be to support and protect the Hr.Ms Middelburg (http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss250/krijk/Invincibleclasscarrier.jpg?t=1241982345), and to work together with the other joint Naval forces.

Our forces agree, and our country is deeply saddened by the loss of two of our beautiful forests, despite tough enviromental regulations brought in in 2005. We would not place our command over there command, however, as this would most likely further tarnish relations. However, we do hope they do not attack us directly.
We will welcome this new vessel, and she will be contacted by the King Viktor II as soon as she arrives near/in Norberdian waters.

The KH-12 we had had been previously damaged by a Meteorite, preventing us from using its RealColor Camera, so we had to rely on Thermal Imaging, which is far better in a country like yours due to the Snowfall and Snow on the ground, as for the Tents, they were empty when the Satellite made the pass. You can also balme yourself considering how since you said you had built the bases and were planning on useing them again, you knew that it was in the middle of a Tourist Attraction, thus, you cannot pin very much blame on us for we are not the ones who built the bases, nor the ones who failed to inform us of the fact that several endangered species were in the surrounding woods, nor are we the ones who failed to inform us that their might be several large Fuel tanks in the bases.

To make this process maybe a bitt shorter the Captain of the Hr.Ms Holland (http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss250/krijk/NoordeindeNavyHollandClass.jpg?t=1241983181), Captain Micheal Bloomberg, made contact with his colleague, Captain Thom Pitt of the Hr.Ms Middelburg (http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss250/krijk/Invincibleclasscarrier.jpg?t=1241983226), to let him know that they were approaching Norberd's territorial waters.

Your Excellency President Andrew Hundley,
During the time in which Norberdian forces held the bases, there were no fuel tanks located in them, thus the rebels moved them there for one reason or another. We would expect that, due to common knowledge, the USPA forces would know of the endangered species living in the woods.
I wish to move on from these matters, as I feel that the popularity of the USPA in the country I govern has plumetted once again, and a few groups are even considering organising protests against the actions taken by the USPA. The next government to be elected will most likely not forget this.
Is there any other matters the USPA wishes to discuss regarding Smaloan?

Ada Arvald

The communications were actually redirected back to Captain Fradberg, who had been sipping some more fine vodka whenever the radio went off. He walked over to it and answered it.
"USPA forces? Captain Fradberg here, KNS King Viktor II. No, we do not have any troops in Brezha, its a rebel stronghold. AA guns everywhere, an oil reserve somewhere inside it. Over."
After speaking to the USPA forces, the radio soon went up again with a request from a new ship from Noordeinde. "Affirmative, Hr.Ms Holland, you may enter our waters. Over."

"Are you certain of that Captain, because you sound quite drunk?"
Fradberg spat out his vodka onto the floor, which, in Norberdian culture, was the equilvent of the middle finger in Western cultures. He picked up the radio again and, in a stern voice, replied.
"USPA forces, no, I am not drunk, and I fail to see the logic in your rather informal remark. Over."

At the same time this was sent to Prime Minister Ada Arvald
We do have a topic to discuss, it is the seemingly continual drunkness or semi drunkness of your officers. If you do not stop this there may end up being more incidents and maybe worse in the future due to misinformation from a drunk or semi drunk officer, i am gonna ask you to reply this to us yourself, do you have any troops in Brezha?, if you say yes and it turns out you do this one is on your heads.
What were these false accusations? This was his first vodka today, and everybody knew a glass of vodka a day barely an effect on Norberdian people.
"USPA forces, would you please stop accusing me of being drunk and and may we please discuss Brezha? Over."

Your Excellency President Andrew Hundley,
Mr. Hundley, I am disappointed by your attack on our officers. However, we will begin an investigation into this matter and we expect little if no evidence of soldiers being drunk while serving. On the issue of Brezha, we have a small platoon from the Army stationed near your forces' current position whom can most certainly group up with your men for a combined assault or such. Sadly, air support from our Air Force can not attend the assault, due to ice having made the runways at the nearest air base - Lunsk Air Base - quick slipperly, which could risk our aircraft if we launched them.

Lieutenant Fredrick Halonen had his AK5 close to his chest as he pushed through the waist-high snow. He had witnessed the burning of the forests from Lunsk Army Base, and had expected such from the USPA forces during their time here. Whenever they came to the motorway, his troops crossed silently, going at the right time when there were no Leopards in sight.
They soon found the USPA forces. He walked through the snow and waved towards them, speaking.
"Lieutenant Fredrick Halonen, Royal Norberdian Army," he said to them. "We have orders to assist you in capturing that."
He pointed towards Brezha, in the distance.

"Captain, it appears a joint USPA/Norberdian assault may be taking place on Brezha, a rebel stronghold, very soon...Over."

"Understood, sir," replied Fredrick. "My men will keep an eye on the road."
The platoon started trudging through the snow again, back to the road. It appeared the patrols had ended for a small period of time to the troops, whom were taking cover behind the trees and broken logs.

The platoon advanced via the motorway into the town, inside their IFVs and tanks. As the snow fell, the rebels, badly trained, ran out onto the street blindly, only to be decimated by the tanks and the IFVs. Soon, rebel bodies littered the streets.

The Pennsylvanian troops advancing from the other side of Town tended to shot for the Arms or legs to take prisoners, thus, there was a lower kill rate on that side but many more prisoners were taken
The Norberdians were content with letting the foreigners take the prisoners. As they advanced through the town, one Leopard 2 came out from a alley and destroyed two of the IFVs, but the Norberdian-controlled tanks fired at it and decimated it.

The Grand World Order

Lunsk Air Force Base
The colossal An-225 extended a ramp onto the runway after landing, adding a slight "Alien Landing" touch to the scene. Surely, none of the personnel at the runway would know exactly what whatever would come out of the plane would look like. As the door opened, and the warm air collided with the cold air, several S.T.F. Agents slowly led the passengers out of the aircraft in an extremely disciplined fashion. As guards of the High Command of the operation, they had little need for camouflage, and thus their uniforms were the usual black of the Special Tactics Force.
Field Marshal Imorr Shan exited the plane followed by two S.T.F. Agents, his uniform being a sure sign of his power within the Order's Army. He was quite literally the second highest rank that one could achieve in the Army, and was next in line for the position of Marshal of the Army. His uniform was purely black, and he had several medals pinned on him. He wore the neck-mounted Medal of the Foundings, showing that he had fought in the Foundings, the brutal start of the Federation. He wore a long black, neatly pressed trench coat with intricate "Shoulderboards"; he wasn't in his full formals, as those would probably get destroyed from being moved so much. His officer's cap had the logo of the Land Warfare Department emblazoned on it. He had silver (Which was viewed as higher than gold as a color) ropes wrapped around one of his shoulders.
The next most notable High Command officer was General FC-AU4, the head of S.T.F. Operations. He wore a uniform generally similar to Shan's, but with a black and gray beret sitting on his head and a balaclava hiding his face. On his beret was the symbol of the Special Tactics Force- the Iron Cross with two Fasces crossed behind it and the Swastika in the middle of it.
"Very well. We have one of our interactive electronic maps in the plane, and I'll have some of my men move it. As for the other planes, they'll be landing in Smaloan sometime soon, as I haven't heard of anything bad from our front pilots," was the response of Field Marshal Shan.
Smaloan
The An-225s were with haste to find a landing site. An-225s were originally designed by the Russians; snow wasn't as much of a deal with them as it was for Western aircraft. This was simply viewed as another bonus of the plane, next to its positively massive cargo abilities. When the airborne behemoths landed at a bombed out airport, APS and S.T.F. personnel were the first to charge out. Due to the heavy snowfall expected in Norberd, the non-STF troops were wearing pure white "Snowjaeger" versions of the standard uniform issued to the GWO military, with the S.T.F. Agents wearing their own snow uniforms. They had white cloths concealing their gas masks (And distorting their figure, making detection even harder), with small holes for the AGMOED lens to protrude from. Their AGMOEDs were equipped with advanced thermal imaging software (Explained in my factbook), and the cold temperatures would only make them more accurate.
After ensuring nothing was on the runway, the special forces troops headed towards the relatively small airport. The place could easily make a good forward operations base, so long as there weren't any rebels in there...
