[ooc: I will vote in the event of a tie]]

The Premier had ran the country for a grand total of 15 years; in that time the nation had grown and prospered higher then internal critics had hoped for. It was now time to pass on the leadership to a new party, after the troika agreed that it would be the best course of action, since the economy was stagnant for the past few months. The populace was also getting anxious, and in a country where 80% of the population has undergone mandatory conscription or enlisted at one point in time[after service, it's possible to buy a Kalashnikov no questions asked, though ammo is more regulated], it was just best to be safe then sorry. The brief decision meant that only a few political parties were prepared for such an event. A constitution would be adopted shortly after the elections, with cooperation of the Premier and President. Following this, the nation will be called the Chernobylskayan Federation.[<- originally my FT account, but I suck at that]

Chuck Finley from the Oseato City Register was in Treneska to cover the election and stood up waiting to be recognized before asking a question. When he was given the go ahead he asked Aleksandr Kadyrov a question. "Why do you plan to reduce military spending at a time where several of your neighbors have been engaged in conflicts that have caused international intervention, for example Operation Peacekeeper in Adjikstan? Would this not be a good time to keep your military up to where it currently is?"

Finished Chuck sat back down and waited for a response.

Kadyrov steps up to the podium to reply to the question, after the previous speaker was seated.

"Due to the previous Government's production rate of equipment, it is possible to lessen the strain on tax payers by cutting that down. In neighboring Adjikstan it is a low intensity peacekeeping operation, not requiring any more forces then the ones already stationed there. Obviously, should the need arrive, the military can be boosted in size with reserves. Any other questions?"
