Dreadfire: 'Gholgoth poised for victory over Mediterranica'
Automagfreek

...and in world news, a statement has been released from the Great Hall this afternoon concerning the Gothic war in Mediterranica. Requests for follow up comments from the International Affairs office were not immediately returned, though we have received word from unnamed sources that additional statements are pending.
~From the desk of Lord Damien the Destroyer, Supreme Warlord of the New Gothic Empire of Automagfreek~
For many months the forces of the Vorgothic Empire have done battle deep in the heart of the Mediterranican region, and the more time that passes the more inevitable a Gothic victory appears. With our faithful allies inside Mediterranica we have all but stamped out any hope of turning back the tide, and as we speak we are prepared to nearly double the number of forces we have commited as more Goths rise to answer the call of war. Our victory is now without question.
The nations of Vetalia, Greston, Uiri, and Miroxia have all been great assets to our cause and shall all be rewarded greatly for their assistance when the dust settles. They shall reap the benefits of both the spoils of war and the generousity of the Gothic Empire, to which their nations shall be taken to a new level of prosperity... and the offer to join us as brothers will be given but once. However, we wish to extend the offer of a new and brighter future to all who still cling to the faint hope of defeating the Vorgothic Empire and its allies. We are not your enemy, for we did not come to your region seeking blood. Instead we have come as a cleansing fire, and the glorious rebirth of Mediterranica is at hand!
Those who wish to peacefully end this conflict and stand alongside us as equals will be forgiven for opposing us, and no grudge will be carried by any Goth. You shall be given financial and military assistance in rebuilding your nations, vast trade opportunities, and whatever else you so desire. The world is changing, and the Vorgothic Empire will be at the helm of bringing about a new era for all mankind... and those who choose not to move forward will be left behind and forgotten to the history we will soon write.
We call one final time for the surrender of the nations of Mediterranica, and if this is ignored then we shall lay waste to all who stand in our path. We have by no means brought our full might to bear upon you, and surely any reasonable leader would not wish to subject his people to such terrible wrath. Over half of your region rests firmly in our control, and like a swarm of locusts we continue to drive deeper into the heart of Mediterranica. We have yet to meet a force in battle that can stop us, and the further we push the more your hope for victory vanishes. The choice is quite clear; peace, prosperity, and power.... or death, dispair, and destruction.
Choose wisely.

Dreadfire's Declaration Stirs Tensions in Falkenberg
Fritz Blau
May 04, 2009
News of Lord Dreadfire’s proclamation that “the end was near” for Mediterranica elicited a decidedly negative reaction from Falkenberg. News of a renewed offensive by Leistungi troops in Waldenburg had been received not an hour before, and the elation felt by military officials was quickly doused by news that the Vorgothic Empire’s arbitrary thirst for Mediterranican blood had not been quenched.
Chancellor Ringkampf commented on the development in a press conference earlier today, where he stated defiantly, but somewhat vaguely, “Our men and women in uniform were not sent to Waldenburg to end oppression, only to have it replaced by another sort.” Ringkampf has maintained an unusually vocal stance against Vorgothic expansion in the Mediterranican region, made even more unusual by the presence of Greston, a key Leistungi ally, within the Empire’s ranks.
The Federal Republic is geared up, in one way or another, for the war in Waldenburg, a war which has resulted in heavy casualties for both sides over its relatively short duration. It has engulfed the economy in war production and has remained essentially the only topic of discussion for the upcoming Bundestag elections.
“Why Lord Dreadfire believes that the free nations of Mediterranica will submit willingly to Gothic rule escapes me, honestly,” Chancellor Ringkampf declared candidly after his press conference. “I would rather see a Mediterranica dominated by Waldenburg than one dominated by Dreadfire and his cronies.”
Grestonian support of the Vorgothic Empire has led to a severe chilling of Leisto-Grestonian relations over the past months, and relations are unlikely to thaw so long as the Imperial Republic throws in support for the totalitarian, imperialist, warmongering nations who form the vanguard of the Empire.

Third Spanish States
05-05-2009, 02:54
The small, "insignificant" anarchist commune of Kell was never known to answer directly to threats, both empty and solid, to rebate words with further words instead of solid actions, but among themselves, a very relevant speech was given by the man who turned such Principality of the former Paloni into an anarchist society, a man known as Edward Vaughn, whose skill to address the people, who extreme passion as he stood in the rallies of black blocs and militias, could likely allow him to turn Kell into a fascist dictatorship to conquer much of Mediterranica given enough time, had he been corrupted by power rather than resigned his own power to give it to the people, and face minimal resistance. Perhaps it was his very gift, perhaps it was the absolute certainty that no matter what happens, he was doing the right thing, but should Vaughn encourage children to bear arms against the oppressors, for entire families to fight to death, he could likely be answered by most. The horrors of the Freeks were very well known, showing that death was better than surrender even for those who weren't taught to believe that freedom was above the need of survival or the lives of their children. And like once, men would bring their children, believing they could not live in a world without National-Socialism, the prospects of such belief would perhaps lead many to have to make the hard choice between killing their own children or letting them live as slaves to a war machine bent on annihilating freedom on the worlds, should they face utter defeat.
Yet, although silent, they were not unaware of the massive threat, of the demon-tyrant, as the religious people claimed, and his lapdogs raiding through Mediterranica like feral beasts, claiming their imminent victory. A few days ago, Edward Vaughn has addressed such matters in his second speech since he renounced his former official position as the prince of Kell. It was perhaps the closest thing that ever came to what would be an official statement about the situation in Mediterranica. Perhaps it would just pass under the radar, for the transmission was never truly destined or intended for the so called Vorgoth, but as a broadcast for Kell itself, even though it is found its place in the Internet, yet obscured by far more famous and popular broadcasts.
-----------------------------------------------
It was a massive room, at least five meters tall, half-lit with eight fluorescent lights shining from the top, symmetrically distributed over the ceiling, and screens cascaded across all its walls, where scenes across the world appeared, scenes of oppression and of strife, scenes of many of the things the creators of such room struggled to fight against, giving the sensation of total awareness to every man who entered the room. For inside it, there was no way to look away, for the horrors of the world, were displayed all around, children being killed by ruthless conquerors, soldiers with the banner of a fallen Spain shooting at innocent civilians, death and tyranny from all corners of the worlds, be them in Gholgoth, Mediterranica, Nova, Haven, in the Earth the Confederacy of Third Spanish States belonged to or in the very past of Kell, ridden with poverty, before the revolution came. At the center of the room, a circular lectern, wide enough to allow for at least twenty man stand and speak their words, with no distinction between hierarchies in its uniform shape, covering all corners of the room, stood at its middle, and a camera high above, covering an angle where the images of the room were not caught by its lenses.
Nineteen among the millions of original inhabitants, who lived in Kell decades before Edward arrived, were in the room, looking at Edward like their equal now, rather than as a prince. There was no visible security guard, nothing at all, like if he now personally dared to invite murderers, as if he no longer found his life critical to the success of the revolution, and as if he no longer cared about his own survival, even though he was a staunch proponent of the lack of an afterlife. Like if in some way, his death would be now more beneficial to their cause than to their enemies.
"It has been four months since I last spoke, four months since I have announced my resignation from a position of power for our betterment as human beings, for I know you are now completely capable to defining your own fate through the best means necessary, and thus I have simply watched, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed to make of Kell the free and prosperous land it currently has become, for without your help, those dreams of a better world I wished to share would never extend from my mind to reach our lives! For the very fact you have succeeded to accept the burden of freedom, yes, the burden of freedom, for like I once was told by a man far wiser than myself, absolute freedom equates absolute responsibility, and now that you have succeeded in taking such gift, I can only thank you, for in the end, I may have started the revolution, helping the comrades who I came with, but you are the ones who should be proud: for making the revolution a reality, you have proved your strength as a people! A strength you also have to not cover your ears to the truth, for otherwise we wouldn't have achieved all we did."
Then, the camera, in an unusual movement, leaned towards one of the walls of screens inside the room, focusing on the image of a massive Gholgoth fleet advancing through the oceans, behind the bald face of Edward and the heads of other people in the room.
"However, there are those who do not wish for us to be happy, to be free, to have dignity in our lives, to have unconditional pride of ourselves as truly free people as we don't require vain hierarchies to feel proud, for we are capable of weaving our own fates. You have already seen the works of those who seek such goal inside our very nation: terrorist attacks and biological weapons outbreaks tainting a faith many of you still believe with the hypocrisy of those who twist the sacred for their very ends. We should not hate these men, but pity them, for they think that power and wealth are the only means of personal achievement and of an illusory happiness. The only remain of humanity many tyrants with the blood of millions at their hands had was a perpetual sadness, for in truth, although inviting, power destroys as much of the man who has it as it destroys those he has power over, until he becomes nothing but a sad man who lost all faith in friendship and mankind, and can never sleep, afraid of the time a knife will backstab him. For a man, to be corrupted is more than to lose any empathy and sense of justice, to be corrupted is to lose to every hope of achieving joy and peace, sinking into pleasures the despair knowing everyone will betray such man if the time is ripe provides."
Edward's thick brows lowered, like in an expression of pity, and he turned his back to the camera to face the images of Freekish Sentinels that replaced suddenly the image of the Gholgoth's invasion fleet, and for a while he observed, making occasional gestures, before turning back to the audience:
"You may think of them as monsters, you may think that behind those masks there is no more humanity. You can feel the difference in your daily lives between the times you had no true freedom and now. Try to imagine them, if at the very moment you were born, men punished you for doing anything you weren't ordered, and claimed you were fighting for the best possible goal. I know it is difficult to fathom this, but any human can be bred into a machine to kill others, into a heartless monster incapable of flickering at the greatest horrors. In truth, comrades, these are not villains, but innocents, for unlike the enemies of mankind, they did not choose to become monsters, like many of those who stand against us in Kell, even now, they were forced to become monsters, and now there is no more hope for them."
Then the image of the Gholgoth invasion force appeared again, as in a screen above it, the display of a map with the position of Paloni, and by extension Kell, in the continents cluster of Mediterranica.
"I know many doom sayers are already spewing that there is no hope for our people, that every territory in Waldenburg, in Paloni, and in Kell is to become a province to feed the hatred and inhumanity of the Freeks and their servant nations, that there is no hope... let History give a lesson.
Then immediately, two videos from past history in Third Spanish States' Earth were shown simultaneously, in one, soldiers with dark uniforms marched unchallenged over Prague, the capital of Czechoslovakia as people withered in suffering, while in the other, a handful of men, under the freezing cold of winter, with the Finnish banner under their stead, stood against an horde of soldiers with the flag of the Soviet Union, relying on both their tactics and courage against such massive invasion.
"Here you see the history of two nations far smaller than our Kell, besieged by much more powerful and tyrannical nations, two nations called Finland and Czechoslovakia, of which only the former now remains as it was in our world, and as a free nation. The people of Finland have defended themselves against a much larger army, with thousands tanks and airplanes, while the people of Czechoslovakia fell victim to their own inertia and dependence of their leader, and to the cowardice of their leader, who accepted conquest without a fight instead of having the courage to guide his people to defend themselves. An hypocrite may say that Czechoslovakia wasn't under winter when it happened, but many historians of my world have said that they had many chances of defending themselves, if they had the courage to fight for their freedom while they had the power to challenge the enemies of freedom. The free men of Finland on the other hands, have achieved one of the most heroic military victories of mankind's history! A victory achieved not only by their army, by the courage of their people!"
Then he finally raised his tone to an exalted glory, as he spoke of the historical example of what he was trying to teach.
"As history have taught, freedom requires unyielding courage of the people to be maintained, and thus I ask of you: will we follow the path of bravery, victory and freedom, like Finland did, or will we follow the path of cowardice, defeat and enslavement, like Czechoslovakia did? As I have said, you now are masters of your future, and I have no right to force any man, anywhere, to be courageous and have determination against every possible threat. For we have the shared power to defend ourselves from foreign tyrants now, if we have the courage to match such power. The path of courage is a path of hardship, as I have personally felt in my youth, as I have personally felt during times when our enemies tried to divide us. However, while the path of courage have moments of hardship and pain, the path of cowardice offers nothing but a lifetime of suffering, slavery and despair. We must choose wisely, as people of Kell, which path to follow. But rest be assured, regardless of the path each of you choose, I will do my best to help us to defend our freedom, and I promise to every one of you, by my freedom, that while I may not have the same strength of my youth, I have not lost one inch of courage from the time there was no certainty if true freedom was even possible during my lifetime."
His voice was so loud and passionate, that a cynical could compare his passionate speech to that of men who sought antagonistic goals, like Hitler and Stalin, and yet, there was a certain courage and warlord-like daringness that shaped his speech to extremes, sometimes arguably frightening for their implication, extremes that could inspire even an eight years old children to take a pistol and fight against invaders, should one day the predictions about a future invasion against the Communes of Kell realize. However, it were in the lasting moments of his speech that his passion became the greatest, like if he was a revolutionary giving a speech in the middle of a battlefield rather than a resigned prince offering advice to the people from his room:
"I swear to my freedom that I am not like the weak scums who depend upon henchmen to convince the people of following what they believe! I am not like the decadent rulers who are so weak, corrupt, traitorous and coward!" his voice raised to an extreme rage, as if his following words would channel a powerful hatred in the people of Kell for the old regime "coward enough to sell their own nation's sovereignty like if people were a merchandise!"
The hatred of his voice then subdued, but it remained as passionate as before, as he finished his promise to the people of Kell, a promise he knew he was completely able of honoring, and that he would honor, for his life was no longer relevant for the success of the revolution, and he was ready to die for the cause of anarchism, to lead his people to be strong and never surrender by example rather than by words, should one day it happen as he said:
"I am not like these mockeries of humanity, and I swear I will personally stand to arms to fight against those who might seek to destroy our freedom! And by both ours and God's will, if he exists, we will never again turn back to the dark times of our past!"
--------------------------------------
From the way he spoke in the video, either he was the most perfect liar to ever exist across the planet or he was being honest on his promise that he would be among the first lines of defense and despite his age, fight to death against the dreaded Sentinels, should such hordes of tyranny attempt to conquer Kell. If like some people claim, the leader of a nation is the mirror of its people, Kell might be conquered as a ghost land drenched by the blood of those who preferred to die free fighting against tyranny rather than live in slavery, but their people will never be conquered.
And of course, Kell was not alone...
The Praetor personally wrote the following letter, an essay sent to the nations of Mediterranica and posted in all of the major newspapers in Vetalia, Greston, and other nations allied under the auspices of the Vorgothic Empire.
Office of the Praetor of Vetalia
I wish to address this message to those nations in the Mediterranican Union that continue to resist the inevitable might of the Vorgothic Empire. What, exactly, do you gain from such a venture? Is it land? No, our allies will strip you of that in due time. Is it wealth? Absolutely not. You as well as I know that no other power is richer than our nation, and only through our allies in Gholgoth can any nation share in that wealth. Is it power? There is no might to be gained from futile struggle against unrelenting odds. You know this.
There is one choice, one that will save your people unrelenting hardship and death and bring you in to the prosperity we have long since recognized. Abandon your struggle and join with Vetalia in welcoming a new era, an era under the wise rule of Gholgoth! One needs to look only towards the territories of Solenial and Quintus to see the merits of our rule, and by extension the rule of the Gholgothic hand that guides us.
Those who join with us will see the golden hand of Vetalia bring a new era of prosperity and progress to this region, while those that refuse will see nothing but devastation, war, and suffering. My people need look only a short distance from our own shores to see the perils of crossing Gholgoth firsthand.
On behalf of the people of Vetalia, I implore you to cease this fighting. Our nation's resources are poised to mend the wounds of this war, if only our enemies would see the light. The opportunities the Vorgothic Empire provides are even greater than those of Vetalia itself. Consider this.
Regards,
Praetor Dmitri Dmitriyevich Molotov
The news of the Mediterranican campaign had been carefully monitored by the Telrosian Dominion. The Dominion was a nation who had sought to preserve its principles, no matter what. The Dominion had a long and glorious military history, as well as society unyielding in its pursuit of democratic ideals and military power, seeking to fulfill the promise that First Lukas Alexander had given when the Dominion was formed in medieval times:
"It will be the duty of the Dominion to protect and shield its people from the arrows that their enemies sling at them, and the people's duty will be to support and aid the Dominion in its quest to further the defense of the people."
So it was that they had continued the traditions set in place by their ancestors and seek to continue to expand upon the glory of the Dominion. And for hundreds of years, they had accomplished this task. Their people became a hardy and industrious society, working to benefit the nation and the people overall while enjoying the individual benefits of their labors. They sought to fight for the natural rights of man and against the evils of the world, like genocide, terrorism, and manipulation of nations by those who would seek to do harm to their people. And they had done so to the best of their ability. But the recent change from an industrial to post-industrial economy, and the fluctuating problems coming from corruption within several private sector companies began to hit the Telrosian economy hard, and the glory they had secured began to wane. Cuts in budgets, including military, had to be made and the military shrank as they struggled with their problems. Experts all over the Dominion worked to fix the problem and had begun to do so when the offer from the region of Gholgoth came to their doorstep to join the Vorgothic Empire.
This had come as a shock to the Dominion, who had mixed feelings about this alliance. On one hand, they were impressed with their martial capabilities and they had proven to be honorable in their agreements and treating allies like family. It was a good situation to be in, if one did not betray the trust given. On the other hand, however, was that a few sacrificed slaves on a daily basis, committed horrible war crimes and fought war with such savagery as not seen since ancient times. It was a confusing situation, and the First met with the High Council, as well as the Body of Lukar, the two chambers of legislation respectively. Debate had ranged for some time and both sides presented their cases well. One favored ignoring it and the other favored joining. The economic situation was putting support on the pro-Gholgoth side, seeking to relieve the problems on their economy and get military aid. In the end, the voting came to a deadlock and so it was up to the First to make this decision. And he did, with an announcement that Telros would join the Empire and seek to become one of the brothers of Gholgoth.
So, as they prepared to be fully integrated, they watched the war with interest, sending reconnaissance planes, drones, etc to watch how the war went. It was almost breathtaking how quickly the Gothic forces overran the region, though this was due to native nations aiding them and the recent if bitter LION/Hegemony war. And now, they were poised to strike at the key nations at the heart of the region and conquer all. But now, they had extended the hand of peace, one given many times, to try and end the bloodshed now. And for that, the First had to respect them for it. He still had doubts and worries about the Gothic nations but he was willing to work with them in this endeavor. So a message was prepared and sent in response to the peace message.
"Nations of the world, I am First Duncan Loon of the Telrosian Dominion. I am one of many who have sought help and joined the Vorgothic Empire. Despite what their critics might say about them, the Empire is very generous and helpful in what it has done. In our case, they have aided us in overcoming our economic drought and causing us to grow like never before. Other nations who have joined now or earlier are experiencing similar growth. It is not a bad thing to join them; they do not ask for strict obedience or that you lose your cultural and national identity. Far from it, in fact, they seek to create a brotherhood of nations who are all family and work together to ensure everyone benefits.
This war has seen much bloodshed, the use of nuclear weapons, and the straining of many cultures and relationships. I implore you, in the name of peace to lay down your arms and seek a peaceful resolution. If not for that, then for your people. War is an ugly thing and it only results in much death and destruction. It is the duty of every nation to safeguard and protect its people and any further fighting in this war will only result in their deaths. We are willing to send in construction crews, clean-up crews and more to help rebuild those nations who join our cause and seek peace. We do not want the suffering to continue. And to those of our allies, newly-come or old, we offer any aid that is in our power to dispense in this situation as well."
The message was sent, and whether he got outcries or support, he was not going to change and the entire Dominion was behind him.

Editorial -- The Spread of Tyranny
Dieter Manheim
May 04, 2009
It is natural for the Vetalians to believe there is nothing more than money, land, and power in this world. Would anyone disagree that those three vices are the ones most important to the nations of the Vorgothic Empire?
In Leistung, in Kell, and across the free lands of Mediterranica, there is a fourth reason to fight, far more important than petty squabbles over land and wealth – we fight for freedom. We fight the iron grip of tyranny and oppression for no reason other than because it is right, and it is our responsibility, nay, our obligation to fight it wherever it may threaten that freedom.
The so-called light the Vetalians speak of is simply trading one form of oppression for another – war for occupation. Praetor Molotov assumes that the nations of Mediterranica need the Vorgothic Empire to instruct them how to run their citizen’s lives, yet I will not accept that those same nations, brought together in brotherhood, freedom, and liberty past their differences, will allow such a tyranny to enter their lands unmolested.
And should the Empire’s quest to bring the entirety of the world under its iron fist ever reach past the borders of Mediterranica, as it no doubt will, the people of Leistung must sleep easily in the knowledge that we will resist, and just as those noble men and women in Kell refuse to bow to oppression, we too shall never rest while oppression spreads through the world. Even if it means for us standing at the very gates of hell while Hades, Cerberus, and Lucifer charge, we will not bow.

Truth shall out.
Editorial: The Black Tide
Rev. Donald Butler
Today the Voice of Gholgoth spoke. It spoke of peace, it spoke of prosperity, it spoke of a glorious new era for humanity, and the imminent military victory of the Volgothic Empire. Yet as this "supreme warlord" spoke of such pleasantries, I heard another, truer voice speaking underneath the first. This second voice but made a single demand of all who heard it: submission. The Vetalians have heard this voice, as have the Grestonians. The terror that it invoked has overtaken them, and as slaves they now obey, spreading their fear and cowardice before them, the puppet mouthpieces of their savage masters. The free peoples of Mediterranica have heard this voice as well, yet unlike Gholgoth's new dogs they have not succumbed to fear. No, the Mediterranicans have defied this voice. They refuse to bow to Freekish tyranny and now stand united against the Gothic hordes in defense of their lives, their land, and their independence. Truly, there can be no nobler cause.
These self-styled "lords", this Dreadfire who would be the master of man, have long been seeking such submission. For years they, in their wicked lust for power, have been a parasite upon mankind. Gholgoth is the leech of humanity, growing ever larger as it gorges itself upon the blood of men in a continuous frenzy of unabated greed. Like any parasite, it must be removed, that it's now sickened host may return to health once more. But where is the instrument that may pry the jaws of the bloated monstrosity away? What power is there that may destroy them? We are such a power. We, free men of this good earth are the great weapon that may strike down the shadow that now looms over us. And strike we must, for every moment that we fail to unite against this terrible foe the closer it comes to consuming us utterly. We must unite, if for no other cause than our own survival, for this new conquest shall not satisfy the Gothic beast, nor shall the next. It shall be but a matter of time, I fear, before the Gothic warlords turn their avaricious gaze upon our lands and our families. We know not for how long this meal of blood shall satiate their hunger, and we cannot afford to wait and find out.
What is the aim of these tyrants? For what purpose do they partake in such brutish conquest? Some among them will claim that they do to unify and bring peace, that by soaking the lands of this world in rivers of blood they are doing mankind a service. The truth is far simpler, and far more monstrous. The lords of Gholgoth are but bound by an insatiable and abominable greed, that drives them ever forward. They are slaves to their own avarice, forever striving to consume and dominate all before them, There can be no reasoning with such a foe, no appeasement will satisfy. They must be defeated: hopelessly and utterly crushed, their taint purged from this earth in a torrent of righteous fury. Humanity can ignore this cancer no longer, it must be cut out.
And now, dear reader, I must announce that this shall be my last column to be written upon Sumguaian soil. I have seen the terrible, unholy threat to liberty that is Gholgoth, and can no longer sit by and watch as it devours my fellow men. I shall be departing the Holy Empire, this blessed land of freedom, for Aschenhyrst along with a number of my countrymen. I go to lend my rifle as a volunteer against the Gothic armies, and doubt that I shall survive such a venture. Yet though I know my fate to be sealed, I am glad, for when I die it shall be as a free man, standing proud against Gothic tyranny unto my last breath.
And so, my faithful readers, I bid you goodbye. May we meet in the hereafter, and may the Almighty always smile upon this great nation.

Presidential Candidates debate about the Mediterranican War
Allied nations lambast the Imperial Republics war
Editorial writers from Leistung and from the Holy Empire may lambast the Imperial Republic for her stance on a war far greater than her being, yet they seem to miss the reasoning as to why the Imperial Republic side such a way. It was no longer than a two years earlier than when the forces of the Mediterranican Union bore down upon the Imperial Republic, laying seige to Easen, Port Porollo, the Westminister, Meir, and Slymyrston. The Mediterranican Union took no time to differentiate between soldier and civilian and in the end upwards to four million Grestonians were ruthlessly slaughtered all in the name of their power.
Such words as freedom and liberty are plastered upon the foreign policies of such nations of Waldenburg and Aschenhyrst, yet if called upon and examined, the same nations have killed more in the name of covering up their government's actions then were murdered in the entirety of this war. Under the churches of Waldenburg, piles of skulls of unconforming dead line the halls to the torture chambers where foreign politicians would be murdered. Across the western borders of Aschenhyrstian mainland, lay the former battlefield to where the tune of the massacring of millions of Urceans was sung.
Even the Federal Republic was struck by the tyranny of the Mediterranican Union due to simple ties between her and the Imperial Republic. If such horrors can be let go so easily than what has the world come to. This is not a war of vengence, this is a war of liberation, just as what the Sumguians say they stand for. Due to the loudness of the voice of the Mediterranican Union, they gain suppourt, even as they did the same no less than a year before.
As Striker commented earlier to GNNN reporters, "Cessastion of hostilities between the AIMN Pact and the Imperial Republic and the Mediterranican Union will be issued soon. The end of the tyranny besetted upon Greston is over and the Imperial Republic has nigh finished it's mission of liberating the Mediterranica from the toltarian, one party version of the region that has been murdering for decades. A new era will reign over, an era in which at long last any member state, no matter how miniscule, may have a say in regional events and politics."
If the remaining hostile states can agree to the surrender, the Amberg Accords will take place and the end of the war will come. The Goths will leave militarily and a stage of rebuilding will begin. The war debt of the Imperial Republic for the cause of the war can end and be paid off and all of the bad remnants of the war will survive only in the folds of history books.

The Infinite Empire of Yallak
Official Imperial Transmission
To: Damien Dreadfire
From: The High Council of Arrandin
I told you that we would never join you without good cause, but it would seem that circumstances have changed since then and there is now cause for us to come to some sort of understanding. The Infinite Empire now has an alliance with the nation of Greston, an ally of Gholgoth, and so we find that we must now choose a side in this war.
While we see little cause to trust your motives in coming here, it is clear to me that the Mediterranican Union has grown stagnant, its vision clouded in politics and bureaucracy. We find our new allies in Greston more deserving of our friendship and believe action is needed to bring stability back to our region. It is for this reason that we are willing to extend the same hand of friendship to Gholgoth, and will even assist with pacifying the region, so long as you agree to a simple condition. I expect that all the Infinite Empire’s assets in the region will remain secure from interference and that any resisting territory subdued by our forces will be left under our care also without interference.
I await your response, but consider this offer carefully first and do not mistake my meaning. This offer is given as I see it being the best course available for the people of this region, it is in no way an admission of vulnerability – If we are attacked the Empire has the power and the will to purge any hostile forces from the region.
Signed

This nation sits on the on the edge of a world gone mad. All parties involved claim to have been wronged, all parties claim to fight for freedom and liberation from tyrrany, all parties are guilty of the crimes of genocide.
This nation has with one hand claimed to stop the suffering of one people while with the other done it`s damnedest to extinguish another. We do not deny or repent this. We have always believed in taking care of our own. We attempted to stay out of the affairs of outsiders and to keep outsiders from interfering in our affairs. If only the world was that simple.
For more years than I care to remember, we have strived to maintain the status quo in our backyard. No matter how much one nation percieves things to be fair and equal, another always believes they should have a bigger piece of the pie.
We have been forced by world events to become involved in the affairs of outsiders and in turn, outsiders have become involved in ours. The last time this nation allied itself with outsiders we did so to combat a global threat, the threat ot the League of International Ocean-fairing Nations (LION). Our ambitions may not have been so grand as to save the world, but to clean up our backyard in an attempt to prevent what is facing us now.
As the hordes of Gholgoth have descended upon our corner of the world, we have for the most part stood idlely by and let them bring havoc upon the region. Now we are left with a simple choice, "Join us or die". We find neither of these choices to be acceptible.
Witnessing our long-term allies being hammered by the might of Gholgoth and the shock of our closest neighbors considering a "Deal with the Devil", we have been forced to take actions we would have never considered. First, we have petitioned to join the Hegemony. We find the choices offered by them easier to swallow. Second, we will not interfere. We will not fire upon the forces of Gholgoth or its allies unless they threaten us directly. If that happens, we will fight.
We have stood by too long. When we could have won without bloodshed, we did not fight. We did not fight when our victory would be sure and not so costly. We have come to a moment when we may have to fight with all the odds against us and only a precarious chance for survival. It may be worse yet, the absolute worse case scenario. We will have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.
We welcome the Hegemon and his forces as they join us to repel what is certain to be an immenent invasion of our homeland. With the knowledge of what is going on around us and what we are prepared to do, we repeat our position one final time. We will not interfere. We will not fire upon the forces of Gholgoth and it`s allies unless they fire upon us or set foot upon our sovereign territory. If they seek to subjegate us by force of arms, we will defend our homeland to the last man.
Respectfully,
His Majesty Mark II

~From the desk of Lord Damien the Destroyer, Supreme Warlord of the New Gothic Empire of Automagfreek~
We are most pleased to hear that Lord Balor has chosen a higher path for Yallak. We find the condition offered forth as acceptable. Any existing territories under Yallak's control will not be encroached upon, and any resisting territories that Yallak captures may be kept. Any assistance of any kind that is requested of Vorgoth will be given without hesitation, for you are now one of us. Your way of life will not be infringed upon, your government will remain as it is, and your culture and faiths will not be changed in any way, for diversity is our greatest asset. We look forward to working alongside the Emperor in sculpting a new Mediterranica.
Concerning Aschenhyrst, Vorgoth will respect its position of neutrality provided that said position is reciprocated. We will not tolerate interference in the building of a new Gothic Mediterranica, and so long as Aschenhyrst minds its own business then our paths should never again cross. We wish to make it abundantly clear that Mediterranica now belongs to Vorgoth, and alongside our native allies we shall do whatever it is we please. Should Aschenhyrst remain silent, then its sovereignty shall not be violated in any way.
With respect to the Hegemony, we would highly advise agaisnt attempting to establish any base of power inside Gothic Mediterranica. While Aschenhyrst's membership and declaration of neutrality are not necessarily contradictory, should the Hegemony prove itself to be hostile to Vorgoth then steps shall be taken to protect our interests.

Gothic Mediterranica? What is this mythical beast? This fanciful vagary of pretension? Allow me to state one thing. This fetid delusion is no more than inked words on cheap paper. Mediterranica is as free as ever as the traitors fall to their own destruction when they cast their lots against Waldenburg.
All invaders will be repelled; all invasions destroyed and the enemy harried at every step until their forces are obliterated and their advances turned. So long as Waldenburg stands this 'Gothic Mediterranica' will be a fiction, and our forces will continue harass and destroy Gothic forces wherever the event presents itself.
To the issue of traitors though there shall be a special death, those who do not stand with us, stand against us. If an alliance does not stand in the most dire of times then it in an alliance not worth maintaining. The Waldenburg state will give the Yallakian state twenty-four hours to surrender itself to total MU command, and offer the voluntary suicide of the Emperor and Lord Ballar.
All loyal MU forces will rally to our flag and prepare for a defensive stance of the Waldenburger continent and the destruction of Gothic bases across the region. All those who do not will be considered of the MU and in violation of the charter.
This continent, this people will never fall; and whilst the best interests are within our hands we shall fight till the last bloody day, till the last Waldenburger man has perished or the Gothic race is entirely obliterated.
Death to Cowards! Hail Victory, and not one step backwards!

Anagonian Confederation - Greston Military Defense Command - General Luther Jackson
From the Office of General Luther Jackson, Anagonian Military Division stationed in Greston
To: Lord Dreadfire - Automagfreek
From: General Luther Jackson
Lord Dreadfire,
I would like to advise you that Anagonian military forces stationed in and around Greston per the Anagonian Confederation charter in defense of said sovereign nations joining said Confederation shall be moved towards Waldenburg to assist the Leistungi and Hegemonic forces in their liberation of stated Waldenburg. Considering my government has ceased to exist and any information we have pertained is now running through a preliminary Imperial Government under the head of Emperor Havok Agamemnon, I am at liberty to inform you that I shall act as speaker for the remainder of the Military Power in Anagonia. Our other military divisions, located in various other nations whom remain sovereign unto themselves, shall be contacted and send half their forces in defense of our initiative. We, in no manner, wish an act of war with your nation per our past Alliance.
However, I have noticed from the beginning that you seem to have overlooked this alliance. Spreading your military into a region that was already under Anagonian influence seems to be a sign of worry for my command here. We have not spoken loudly of anything, for assurance that you would not invade our responsibilities in Greston and various other parts of the world. Yet, I cannot help but think that you do not care in any manner of the form. You seem only interested in stomping around, with due respect, on everyone who really just wants you to leave them alone. In either condition, I have made my decision and my fellow remaining General's have been in agreement.
We will act as head of defense should you or any of your forces decide to come against the territory known as Waldenburg. We will be enacting military engagements there, and we would hope you would at least recognize we wish no harm upon you. However, if we see any sign that you neglect past agreements or our Alliance, we shall not hesitate to see it as an Imperialistic act of war against a long-standing ally.
We do so hope you will make the right choice. For if you decide to impede upon our past agreements and shatter them, my men and I shall die knowing we stood up to someone who cared not for the dignity and honor that Anagonia had so presented unto you.
Many blessings unto our Ally,
General Luther Jackson

From the Desk of The Hegemon
To: Damien Dreadfire
My dear Mr. Dreadfire, I have read the passage of your latest declaration that concerned the Hegemony, and am quite touched by your apparent concern for our great alliance. However, I do believe that you misunderstand us. The Hegemony has never, and does not now, require or seek the advice of Gothic lords. We act according to our own ideals and analysis for the benefit of humanity and our member states, not according to the whim of the Vorgothic Empire. So long as the Empire does not act against these goals, there shall be no conflict between us.
I warn you and your fellows of the Vorgothic Empire not to make the mistake of thinking that the military might that the Gothic lords command will somehow intimidate us into submission to their will. The Hegemony shall bow to no-one, regardless of the power they may hold, and the Vorgothic Empire is no exception. Yea, though the entire world may rally against us we shall never bend to the will of another.
I do hope that this has clears up any misunderstandings that may have stood between our organizations, and hope that this letter finds you in good health.

Atal Amner sat at his normal place, one of two chairs ever used in the vast dining room with any regularity. Before him lay a magnificent spread, representing the fruits of life as President, Prime Minister, et cetera, et cetera, ad nauseum for the Glorious Military Junta of No Endorse. The centerpiece, if there can be a centerpiece to a meal composed of dishes that would serve such purpose at any lesser venue, was a great turkey, baked by the finest of Endorsian Chefs. Culled at the perfect age, graded against millions for its quality, its heft, and most importantly, its firm, rich texture, it was truly fit for a king.
Atal delicately sliced off a sliver of steaming flesh, savoring its flavor for exactly sixty seconds, before helping himself to a small serving of salad. Truly, the art of survival and sustenance had reached new heights, stimulating the senses in ways beyond imagine.
"Mister Prime Minister?" The cameraman peered around at the man seated across the table. "Sir, we're live."
Atal paused, glancing up at the man. "Despite my reverie in this delightful meal, I can assure you that my faculties have not yet so abandoned me as to suggest that a blinking red light means anything other than 'record' in this day and age. But regardless, thank you. Your conscientiousness, while commendable, is unwarranted."
"Yes sir." Men had been killed for less.
The leader paused, dabbed at his lips with a silk napkin, and lightly rinsed his fingers in a small bowl of rose water.
"Brothers and Sisters of the International Community" he began, as he was wont, "especially my brothers in the Gothic lands, I wish a good day to you and your brethren. It has been some time since I have had that opportunity, being so engaged with matters of the state and my darling wife Kara, whom I regret will not be joining us for today's discourse. Regardless, good day and good tidings upon you and your kin."
He paused, selecting a morsel of baked potato from a heap near his left hand, chewing it for exactly a minute before continuing.
"Indeed, as you might rightly guess, my statement today is with some occasion. Were it not so, I should probably find myself occupied with another task in our great nation, not that any great effort is needed in our veritable utopia. As any purveyor of news in these modern times may rightly assume the occasion of my discourse, elaboration seems of little use."
Atal paused once more, choosing a small dinner roll and some butter. Five bites, or about 299 seconds later, as no man is perfect, he dabbed his lips and began to speak again.
"Some millions of years ago, our creator Evolution saw fit to endow us with the rational capability we know as thought. She did so out of no benevolence, indeed the inferior might reject such action as malevolence. No, it came of her very essence imbibing such magnificence into our fundamental being as to allow the great achievements in the world around us."
He paused once more, gesturing to the opulent trappings displayed about the dining room. "Achievements unrivaled even in our natural world of beauty and mystery."
"I speak, of course, of our Genetic Code. Code so refined over the millennia of endless toil endured by our ancestors that we bear virtually no resemblance to the primitive, yet marvelous creatures that clambered on their bellies out of the warm sea and claimed dry land as their birthright. Code that defines our very being, which binds us and makes us the potent creatures we are today. A code unique to every individual, taking and giving, endlessly striving for something better. And yet, can we ever truly achieve the impossible? Can we ever overcome the diminutive ‘only human,’ which we have strived for so long to overcome?"
"I believe that in the very act of attempting to refine humanity, we are inherently redefining ‘human’ to mean whatever we desire. With every step we take to purge inferior strains and promote superior ones, we are changing the very socio-genetic fabric of our society. With every bold new stride, we refine our stock for the next generation.”
“The turkey sitting in front of me was culled for its nutritional value, its heft, and its quality. We are superior to the turkey in every way, and as such, humanity has taken it upon itself to husband the weak. We refine the bloodlines, ensuring that they provide for the general welfare of our society, and as a result, this particular bloodline of turkey flourishes. Because of its quality, we ensure that its kin will never vanish from the face of the earth. Yet, just as we may give to the superior, we may also eliminate the inferior bloodlines. Dog food, fertilizer, chemical processing, and other untold horrors await the pathetic creatures that dare to call themselves “Turkey” in the face of such a fine specimen. We excise their genes from the collective existence that is “Turkey” as the surgeon exterminates a cancer: precisely and delicately, but completely.”
“The current situation in the world has aroused great interest among those who share my passion. What has become colloquially known as “The Med” is striving its utmost to avoid the knife of the surgeon, the guiding hand of Nature, and the very essence of Humanity itself.
Leaders of ‘The Med,’ wouldst thou find yourself against such unassailable might if thine cause was just and proper? Wouldst thou find strength failing and allies cowering if thine society was truly worthy of continued existence on the face of the earth? Wouldst thou know the terror of Gothic war machines if thine socio-genetic quality were of any note whatsoever? Were our situations reversed, were the very gates of New Heisen assailed by enemy forces, then thy quality would be known throughout the world. As can readily be seen, however, this is rather not the case.”
Atal sliced another bit of turkey, consuming it with utmost tact.
“As the Turkey has been dominated, so shall the inferior societies attempting to stand against Gothic enlightenment be roasted to our whims. In the name of prolonging the many no doubt honorable bloodlines that still exist within Mediterranica, though apparently absent from government, I request that surrender be immediate and unconditional. Otherwise….” Atal sliced off a drumstick and flicked it aside. “I can assure you that my hound will feast on more than Turkey.”
“Thank you Brothers and Sisters, I bid ye good day.”

~From the desk of Lord Damien the Destroyer, Supreme Warlord of the New Gothic Empire of Automagfreek~
It would seem that the good Cardinal is quite delusional, for the Mediterranican Union no longer exists. It would seem that Waldenburg now stands alone against the Vorgothic Empire which now controls an overwhelming amount of Mediterranican territory, for those who were once your allies are now our brothers. And it would also seem that Waldenburg has troubles of its own, what with being under siege and all, it would appear most unwise to coax the Gothic war machine into action. We have set this region free, and no longer shall the tyranny from the likes of you be tolerated. Your threat against Yallak constitutes a threat against all Gothic peoples and will not be taken lightly.
It would be good policy to steal yourselves and diminish in the presence of the Vorgothic Empire, lest our wrath be set upon you. You will not be given further warning nor instruction, any attempt to encroach on Gothic territory will be viewed as an instant declaration of total war, to which Waldenburg will not survive. A new age is upon Mediterranica, and nothing can stop that now. You will either stay out of the way or be trampled underfoot, the choice is yours.
****************************************
To my good friend General Jackson, your concern is quite misplaced, for Greston is a firm ally in the Vorgothic Empire and we would never dare raise our hands against them. As far as Waldenburg is concerned, we cannot guaranty our course of action at this time. Should they seek to engage Gothic forces or intrude into Gothic territory, we will respond harshly. We are unfamiliar with your objectives with respect to Waldenburg, but should it be in agreement with our interests then we support you and will provide assistance if requested. If not, then we will do what we can to avoid confrontation with a longstanding ally.
****************************************
To the anonymous representative from Allanea, your holdings shall be left intact as long as you remain at peace with the Vorgothic Empire. We see no reason to sieze such territory and evict its inhabitants, and Allanean activities within its territorial boundaries may continue unmolested.

OFFICIAL DIPLOMATIC COMMUNIQUE
To: His Serene Highness King Louis XIII of West Ponente
Your Majesty, the Imperium wishes to offer once again the hand of peace to you. Lord Rahvin is rapidly approaching Nuevo Italia, with countless battle-hardened Legionaries and all the machinery of war. With respect, Your Majesty, your men cannot prevent us landing, and once that happens the bloodshed will be difficult, if not impossible, to control. Who can say what might happen amidst such chaos and violence?
Your Majesty, I do not presume to threaten a man of your stature. Please do not mistake my remarks as such. I merely indicate that neither I nor, in the end, Lord Rahvin himself, can guarantee the safety of your people with so many Imperial troops in the field: no plan survives first contact, and even with all the discipline of their years of training, Kregaian troops are prone to excesses. I assure Your Majesty that I would truly regret such bloodletting in Nuevo Italia: a chaotic, costly war is not what the Imperium wants. It would be directly against our interests. In this, our interests of course coincide.
It is for that reason that the Emperor, respecting the honor of your nation, has decided to make you this offer. Lay down your arms; Nuevo Italia will be subject to the occupation and martial law of the Imperium, but only until a proper negotiation can take place between Gholgoth and the nations of Mediterranica, during which the status of Nuevo Italia will of course be a vital object of discussion. Such a conference could be arranged as soon as possible; both the Emperor and Gholgoth as a whole wish to clear up this matter and move on. You stand alone, Your Majesty, against all the might of Gholgoth, and blood can be the only result of this current path; let there be peace, and let us be done with it. The Emperor wishes to make clear, however, that this offer is final, and will not be repeated. Lord Rahvin is far more eager than the Emperor to carry out this campaign in whatever manner he sees fit, and I would be loathe to abandon Nuevo Italia to his tender mercies.
The Emperor expects to receive a reply from Your Majesty or a duly authorized representative within twenty-four hours.

Abram Vidann, Minister of Foreign Affairs

Anagonian Confederation - Confederation Joint Military Command - General Luther Jackson
From the mobile office of General Luther Jackson, Anagonian Military Division previously stationed in Greston
To: Lord Dreadfire - Automagfreek
From: General Luther Jackson
My Good Lord Dreadfire,
It is assuredly a pleasure that you have responded in kind and with acknowledgment with our past agreements. I assure you now that any and all holdings we have had against any past disagreements were seen as irrelevant considering your verification of said previous message. It would be prudent for me to inform you that my troops being now moved to assist in the Waldenburg conflict will ensure that an Anagonian sphere of influence and territory is maintained as a buffer zone to ensure that any Waldenburgian threat is not met to any outside forces. Thus, our operation in kind is to ensure that we maintain as many base of operations inside the Mediterranican as possible. Our forces now leaving Greston have already left a considerable amount behind for our Confederation ally, and therefore we maintain a presence there for reasonable purposes.
I have come into contact with my fellow General's in Greal and Fictions, both of whom have agreed to send a sizable reinforcement brigade to ensure a proper foothold is maintained for the looming Imperial Empire. The Fictions Division, whom is personally in constant contact with the soon-to-be Emperor Havok Agamemnon, ensures me that any and all methods of support will be tried to continue Anagonian territorial expansion despite having lost our Homeland to a madman. In any condition, I must express out of context that not all hope is lost in our Homeland! We may still have hope there even after the devastating orbital attacks initiated against it.
I suppose I have come way off topic in this letter and thus apologize. I believe the original intent was to convey that my forces shall indeed encompass Waldenburg and we simply ask the Gothic forces to kindly ignore any actions taken by whatever governing body remains. Confederation forces shall have everything under control in due time, with respect to obvious resource management which could indeed be a problem. In such a case we may need Gothic assistance for logistical support and resource allocation. That aside, I am indeed happy we can initiate our own Confederate actions without fear of a possible and definitely unneeded war.
I would like to also personally convey that Emperor Havok Agamemnon has been made aware of the situation by the General in command of the Fictionese Anagonian Confederation Division. He seems rather pleased that our diplomatic efforts to quell any possible misunderstandings were shoved aside for the benefit and the continuation of an Anagonian/Freekian Alliance. I am sure that future dealings will be met in our Homeland once the devastation is restored and it is possible for us to return.
Yours Truly,
General Luther Jackson

.... And in today's top story, Damien Dreadfire of AMF released an ultimatum to the embattled people of Mediterranica, extolling the benefits of submission to the forces of Gholgoth, and the consequences of resistance. Already, most of the region seems to be under Gothic occupation, with only a few resistant nations. As of this time, there has been no comment from the Senate or the Lord Marshal on these events. More on this story as it develops. And now the weather...
The image of the young and pretty newscaster flickered, then went dark. As silence filled the small room, a hand set down the remote, and picked up the cigarillo smoldering in the ashtray.
"And so the world grows more insane with each passing day."
He took a puff, then turned to the window, his face impassive as Alexander Barton, Lord Marshal of the Federal Republic of Kaladria stood long into the night, gazing out into the distant horizon, towards Mediterranica, his mind drifting to thoughts and memories of the past, and worries of the present.
The Kaladrian Times
Editorial: Of Blood and Shame
John Beckett
Today, the world shudders as the forces of Gholgoth once again march, crushing all who would oppose them. The drums of war echo through the region of Mediterranica, and the whole world watches. Silently, without thought or action, they gaze as a tide of blood and iron crashes against shores of Mediterranica, drowning those who resist, and turning neighbors against one another with promises of power and wealth.
And yet, some brave souls fight on, whether it be for freedom, duty, or survival. It matters not their reasons, for they are all equal in courage, a courage that makes this old veteran of the War of Unification weep in pride, and shame. Yes, shame. Shame in myself, for ever thinking the only brave men existed in this great nation of ours. Shame in our leaders, who have still not spoken on these grave and terrible events. And most of all, I feel shame in the nations of this world, who stand idle as brave souls fight and die to defend their homes, their countries, their culture. For every brave soul lost in this grand struggle, will live on as a stain of blood upon the hands that do nothing, forever marking those who left brave men and women to die.
And so, it is with these thoughts that I write these words. And it is with this heart that I beseech the men and women of Kaladria. Do not stay silent as your brothers and sisters in spirit fight! Do not forget the lessons of our past, that the death of the brave is the death of us all! The horns have sounded, citizens and civilians of Kaladria, and the Red Star is high in the night sky! Through conflict we prevail. Through honor we triumph!

Official Statement
The Holy Reich of The Peoples Freedom formally and utterly condemns the Gothic agression against the nations of Mediterranica. The forces of tyranny are thus converging upon a free and reasonable group of nations which have done no ill against the Gothic hordes.
The Reich would also wish to formally condemn the nations within Mediterranica that are idly standing by and openly allying or cowering against the tyrannical hordes of the Gothic nations.
We would like to sternly warn the nations of Gholgoth against any agression against the territorial integrity of Lord Sumguy in this conflict. Any breach of territory by the forces of the Ghothic states can only be assumed to be a hostile act against the nations of Greater Dienstad. Unless Gholgoth wishes war upon the region and the free and prosperous states within we urge Gholgoth to carefully watch themselves.

Genevia, Capital of Erid’Lor
Prime Minister Melanie C. Aerynn sat in her office as she did every day, the wind blowing in from the east, the sun beginning to set. Before her lay an intelligence brief of the situation in Mediterranica and the Gholgothian ultimatum. It had been so long since Erid’Lor was on the world stage, crowded with so many others and so much strife: perhaps it was time to return. Waldenburg was an Eridite ally, and it had aided the nation in her darkest hour. Thoughts raced through her mind: what would be the consequences of this action? Would Erid’Lor be invaded? Could the small amount of forces Erid’Lor had at her disposal actually make any difference.
A stronger wind blew in this time, lifting some of the papers on her desk and blowing them into the air. Turmoil was so common in this world; should it be brought to Erid’Lor. She rubbed her forehead with her thumbs: a headache was coming on.
Beyond the myriad buildings and structures of Genevia lay a bustling port and a sea of ships; among those buildings of the city were millions of citizens rushing to and fro. Was this decision wise? Was it going to harm Erid’Lor? Would there be any allies to rely upon to aid in defence should Waldenburg fall and Gholgoth turn its attention to Greater Dienstad, what with potential Eridite involvement and definite Sumguy action against the Vorgothians in that terrible, terrible theater of war? So many questions, so many to think about, such a great dilemma, to drag a nation into a war for its ideals of hope and freedom… or to stay back in the shadows and watch as a friend which had done something noble and unasked for in a terrible time fell, crumbling to the selfsame forces of evil, if in a different guise.
And then… the wind subsided.
She was resolved.
She picked up the telephone and called Esmeralda.
Open Statement
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc18/Brendeani/eriditediplomaticcommunique.png
To the people and leaders of Mediterranica and Gholgoth; to the Vorgothic Empire, Leistung, Kell, The Hegemony, and Waldenburg.
Most of you will never have heard of the High Republic of Erid’Lor, isolationist and quiet as it is. We are a nation of Greater Dienstad, and it has been 20 years since we have done anything regarding international affairs in this war-ridden world. Let it not however be stated that we have not monitored the events of said world carefully; and in the matter of the ultimatum to the nations of Mediterranica and the soon-to-come war there the High Republic has the greatest concern. We throw off the dark, clutching hands of isolation; we open to the world once more, and we begin to act.
Thirty and five years has it been since the Eridite people last marched to war, thirty and five years since our soldiers marched and our tanks rumbled through fallow fields to fight the enemy. Those years are long past, but we remember the sacrifice our forefathers made, and we appreciate the willingness to help displayed by those of the Waldenburg Empire against the oppressors and invaders of Verenberg, Magilan and the Dyriiad Empire. They sacrificed for us; they aided us in our darkest hour and our time of greatest need; we do not forget what they did for us, and we thank them once more for their contributions to the freedom of Erid’Lor.
For this reason we will aid Waldenburg in its upcoming conflict.
We number only 3 billion; the New Fascist Dominion outnumbers us 4 to 1 standing alone. Our forces are small compared to the cold, black, soulless legions under Lord Dreadfire’s command; but we go to war anyway, in the name of freedom and liberty, and aiding our battle-brothers in Waldenburg. Mediterranica is the epicenter of a struggle between tyranny and freedom, and now we pick up our rifles and we man our vehicles, for we choose the side of freedom. Let it not be said that the Eridites are ungrateful to the Waldenburgers, for, if they should permit, we will send troops to help aid in their defence, 10 divisions of soldiers. An insignificant number, you may think; but remember that a pebble can help to strike an avalanche. They will be under Eridite command but we will only fight when you do.
Make of this what you will, for the United Provinces say to you two things: “Not one step back”, and “Sic Semper Tyrannis”. We have let slip the dogs of war; now we shall fight with our allies.
Yours,
