The Lioness' End (Open, MT, Introduction).
Soon-to-be President Georgia Winchester woke up in her luxurious apartment in Corinth. It was half past eleven Athanic Standard Time now, the sun shining brightly as always in the beautiful city. She was alone in her apartment for the last time, her large plasma screen television left on, having fallen asleep watching a marathon of The Hellenic Palace, a political drama series which she had watched since she was a mere eight years old. It showed no sign of ending, thankfully, because it was by far the most watched programme on Athanic television. She got up and made herself some breakfast, consisting of cereal, toast and tea. She would have to out of here by two, at the Hellenic Palace by four for five o'clock's inauguration ceremony.
Winchester sipped her cup of tea, watching the news. The reporters focused on the gathering of the crowds outside the Palace, over five hundred thousand already gathered there. For a nation of thirty-two million, that was a good number for a historical inauguration. She would be the first female President of the country, having won a close election against the Conservatives and the Liberals. But her party, Labour, had prevailed with promises for more funding into education and social welfare. It would be a good day today.
It had been a long campaign, about half a year. The Conservatives had been on the basis of putting the booming economy first, at the risk of destroying marine life due to pollution, which had increased under the rule of the Conservatives. She had appealed to the environmentalists with promises for new environmental regulations, and to everybody else with increased social welfare and public healthcare.
She finished her breakfast and got dressed into her grey trouser suit, a choice of clothing she loved much. Straight after she got dressed, two loud knocks banged on her door.
"Come in!" she shouted.
In came the dark haired Edward Lanford, the soon-to-be National Security of the Winchester Administration. He was an expensive black suit and wearing his glasses. He held a few documents in his hands, before beginning to speak to Winchester.
"Georgia, I was just told by Perry in the Hellenic that there is intelligence that suggests that a terrorist group has plans to assassinate you at today's ceremony..." drifted off Lanford, handing her the documents. She skimmed them.
"We do a double?" asked Winchester.
"Yes."
* * *
Georgia grimaced as the two sniper bullets passed through the heart of herself, or her double at the ceremony. The news broadcast went silent, before a few worried reporters started to speak. The people gathered there started running, panic in their hearts. As far as they knew, she was dead.
"Thank God for Perry," she said as she sipped a glass of whiskey.
"Aye," said the soon-to-be Prime Minister Harry Falkland, standing beside her. "If he hadn't-"
Suddenly, a stun grenade exploded in the room. Winchester, Falkland and the duo's several advisors in the room were forced onto the carpet, with Falkland hitting the back of his head on the metal radiator, knocking him out cold.
The killer, wearing a balaclava, a black shirt and jeans, took the safety of his Desert Eagle pistol. Winchester could just make out the figure, a man defiantly, as he walked up to her and kneeled beside her. That was the last thing she saw as the assassin fired two bullets into her skull.
The killer brought the gun to Falkland's head, but then noticed a small pool of blood forming behind him. He looked at the man's head and noticed that his skull had been cracked open. He was slouched over the floor, his blood staining the carpet. The killer looked at him. There was no use in wasting his bullets on a dead man. He let him be, and walked towards Lanford, and fired a bullet into his head, followed by killing the rest of the Cabinet before they had even been inaugurated.
The killer left the room silently, having destroyed the Winchester Administration.
But he had made one mistake.
* * *
Harry Falkland's eyes opened slowly, his vision clouded. He was in Georgia's apartment, defiantly. He had no idea what had happened. Though he realised what had happened as he looked left and right. They were all dead. Assassins. He felt a pain in his ankle, most likely having twisted it earlier. He crawled forward on the carpet, just as the door was kicked down and five armed men and a medical team breaked into the room.
There were a few gasps from the soldiers and the medics, along with many 'My God''s and 'Shit's. One of the medics, a young Hispanic female, kneeled beside Falkland, and screamed 'He's alive!'
One of her fellow medics ran towards Falkland, and smiled at him. In a matter of minutes, they had loaded him onto a stretcher and unto an ambulance, as their fellow medics declared the Winchester Administration ended before it had even begun.
* * *
Who had done it?
That was the question controlling Falkland's mind as he lay in his hospital bed. He was alone in the room, for the first time. He still had a headache from the attack today. It was about to hit midnight, dawning upon the 1st of March, in which Georgia Winchester should have been sleeping in the Hellenic. Visiting hours had closed. His two sons had been with him all day, but not his ex-wife, because she was a bitch.
Suddenly, as Falkland was about to drift off to a deep sleep, the door knocked. In an instant, Doctor John Perry, National Security Advisor to President Alexander Walker, was in the room, delivering news to Falkland.
"Falkland, you are the next President of Athanes," stated Perry. "We have no idea who done the attack, but you were spared only because the killer thought you were already entering hell. We're bringing in the Attorney General now to inaugurate you now."

Athanes Capital City
John Knight was watching the inauguration of the new President of Athanes, when shots rang out. A trained member of Battlehawk Intelligence he reacted intictivly and quickly got behind cover. His hand went to the handgun that Intelliegence had managed to aquire for him. Battlehawk Intel had picked up indications of a possible Assassination attempt and sent an agent to have a look, although they hadn't expected anything to come of it.
Right as Winchester was about to begin her speech, two bullets smashed her right in the heart. She collapsed backwards, blood staining her suit. One of her security guards noticed from the corner of his eye a young Asian male wearing a white shirt running from the Hellenic with a large briefcase in hand, and instantly started running towards him. The other guards were attempting to stop the bleeding and loading Winchester onto an ambulance, while Gregory Law, her favourite security man, sprinted towards that Asian male, pushing through the crowd easily like the ex-marine he was.
Law soon got out of the crowd, now engulfed in mass panic, and he just saw the Asian male steal a motorbike off a teenager. Law kept running through the streets of Corinth, eventually being forced to hijack a motorbike from a teenager in order to keep up with the youngster.
After about ten minutes of chasing the man on the motorbike, Law had caught up with him. The youngster clearly didn't know the city's landscape well, which was why he hadn't taken the numerous shortcuts around the city which had enabled Law to catch up with him.
The youngster was sweating badly, but continued driving the motorbike as fast as he could. Law pulled out his Browning HP and shot both the wheels, causing the motorbike to steer off course and directly into a wall. Law stopped and stood above the youngster, and grabbed his briefcase.
Law kicked himself. The only things in there were two laptops.

Without orders from his Command John decided to follow the Security agent who chased a man on a motorbike. Easily keeping pace he kept up with the Security agent, he watched as he shot out the bikes tyres.
As he dropped the briefcase, several locals turned towards Law and started asking questions. He just told him he was from Athanic Parliamentry Security, a branch of the Athanic Special Forces, and ignored any further complaints. He didn't bother to wake the knocked out Asian youngster up, instead leaving him there for the time being. However, he did seize the laptops.
Whenever Law turned around, he spotted somebody tracking him. He had kept pace with him as he had chased the youngster. Law brung out his Browning again and started chasing after him, the briefcase still with him.
The Battlehawk

"Shit" John muttered taking off and a fast run, running down alleys to attempt to get back behind his pursuor. His Glock 17 held close
Law ran right into the alleys chasing after the man, his Browning in hand and the safety off. He jumped over several rubbish bins and after about five minutes of chasing the man, he fired a warning shot near the man's foot, speeding up.
"I am from Athanic Parliamentry Security," shouted Law. "Identify yourself!"
The Battlehawk

John whirled round with his Glock at the ready.
"Battlehawk Intelligence!" John replied his finger by his trigger, but not on it.
Law stopped as soon as the man spoke, but not putting the safety back on the Browning. He reloaded his gun, before staring at the man and walking towards him, his Browning still in hand. He was a tall, black man aged forty, well built. He wore a small gold badge on his suit which symbolised him as an ex-marine, the crest of the Athanic Marine Corps decorated on the badge.
"Oh," stated Law. "Gregory Law. I was chasing after that youngster back there, thought he had shot Winchester. I took his briefcase, there's two laptops in there."
The Battlehawk

"You didn't catch the Assassin?" John asked interested, a former SHADOW Ops soldier, John was around thirty-five, strong from A decade and a half in the Armed Forces
"I saw the youngster and I assumed he had loaded a rifle into the briefcase," said Law. "I was wrong."
Law had no idea whom the assassin might have been. All's he knew was that it was extremely unlikely that the assassin had done it in a cliche way, such as firing from a window, almost guranteeing being caught. If the kid had been the killer, he would have probably hidden behind one of the statues, well away from the security forces, most likely the Wincaster Statue. But the kid might have been a diversion.
"The kid was a diversion," Law came to the realisation. "The real assassin is still out there. Fuck."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 17:12
"I think I can help you" John said lowering his weapon "Battlehawk Intelligence sent my and another agent to investigate reports of a plot to assasinate your new president, we beleive we found the assassin, we were going to follow him and take him out just before he shot the target, but your security forces prevented us from following"
Law lowered his weapon as well, giving a moment to thinking before responding. There were only a few major terrorist groups in the Federation capable of conducting an operation of this magnitude. Maritime was some form of enviromentalist group which regularly hindered oil drilling in the country. Then there was the Tunala Independence Army, calling for an independent Tunalan state, and had started a 'civil war' of sorts in the Tunalan string of islands.
"It might have been Tunala Independence," spoke Law. "Their the only terrorist group in the country who would go to these lengths...and the majority of Tunalans are ethnically Asian."
"The kid was a diversion. Unless he somehow used the laptops to shot Winchester, which is quite unlikely..."
OOC: Mind if the NDI (Tolvanic CIA) aids the Tunanlan rebels in clandestine deal for basing rights if they gain independence?
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 17:40
"Don't be so sure, I saw this film once" John replied as he holstered his weapon "Either way, I need to find my partner before I can help"
((OOC: Sure. Though the independence will be violent.))
"I'd would believe that your fellow agent would be back at the ceremony or blending in with the crowd. I would put my money on the latter, but it is your call where we go."
Law whispered into his radio. "Operation Sealed has been initated? Good. We've got some Battlehawkian agents in the country, apparently their tracking the assassin.."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 18:11
"Do you have a mobile?" John asked after checking his pockets "I dropped mine during the panic"
"A mobile?" Law felt in his pockets but then remembered he had left his mobile back in his apartment.
Gregory started looking around the alley, kicking over several dustbins and searching for a mobile with his eyes only. Eventually, he found one, a small mobile phone. He turned it on and handed it to the Battlehawkian.
"Low power. Better make the call quick."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 18:17
John took the phone and quickly dialed the number.
"Yea, it's me, i've made contact with a Athaneian agent, meet me at RV point Alpha" John said quickly to his partner.
"Athanic," insisted Law lightly.
Law reloaded his Browning, but kept the safety on it. He attached a silencer to it, just to keep the sound of any gun shots low to avoid further panic in the city. From inside his jacket, he produced another Browning, and did the same to that. He was now welding dual pistols, which he tucked into his trousers.
"Where to?"
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 18:28
"There's a coffee shop a block away from the assassination location, that was our primary Rendeavous" John replied
Law began walking briskly out of the alley and onto the streets. There were two armed soldiers from the Army across the street, very close to the coffee shop the Battlehawkian was talking about. Otherwise, the street was completely empty, nothing except troops on the street.
The troops were just in front of the coffee shop. It looked like the shop was closed, as everything in Inner Corinth would be under Operation Sealed. He cursed. He had helped write up Operation Sealed whenever he become an agent in the APS.
"The coffee shop's closed. Call him back if you can."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 18:41
"I can't the batteries gone" John replied eyeing the soldiers "And my partners a she"
"Fuck. We've got to make a run for it, then. Operation Sealed dictates that anybody seen in Inner Corinth an hour after the assassination is to be shot on sight, no matter what."
He took out his pistols and put the safety off.
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 18:53
"I've got to find my partner, you can come with me if you want but I'm going to find her"
"I'm coming," stated Law quickly. "Now, what are we going to do here? I'd guess those soldiers are Rangers, so attempting to seek past them will just get us killed if I know the Rangers."
The Rangers were started to become awaere of the presence of another, and were starting to patrol the area, guns in hand.
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 19:31
"I think I can solve that problem" John smiled pulling a dart gun from inside his coat
"Shoot them," replied Law. "I believe that if we can break into the shop, there would most likely be a telephone on which you can call your partner. Everything in Inner Cornith has been closed off, so don't make any meetings in Inner Cornith. The city's been completely closed off as well and Rangers like the one in front of us will be everywhere."
"Hopefully, it won't end up with helicopters chasing us and a crisis between the ROTB and Athanes."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 19:43
"Think they'll mind if we borrow their uniforms?" John asked shooting the soldiers with the dart gun "Or would that get us executed if were caught?"
"Executed defiantly. The government views that as a high form of treason. We will probably have to sneak about, using stealth and all that."
Law looked up. There were a few helicopters near them. It was nearly eleven o'clock, and the newspapers were preparing for nearly all of their articles to be about today's 'cancelled' ceremony.
"Helicopters."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 19:51
"Shame" John replied as he reloaded the darts "I see them, we'd better make our break for it
Law ran towards the coffee shop, after seizing a L85 Rifle. He shot the windows of the shop, large glass windows. He walked through there and grabbed a telephone left there and handed it to the Battlehawkian.
"Call her on this. Take a L85. We'll need it."
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 20:12
Checking the L85 he rang his partner
"We need to go to RV Delta, avoid soldiers and meet me there" Jon said "Be careful"
"Well, what do we do now?"
He reloaded his L85 and took the safety off it. He put the safety on his pistols, though. He walked around the coffee shop, looking for anything which could be of use to them. There was nothing here except material required for a coffee shop. Damn.
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 20:42
"Get to delta, it's a small derilict warehouse on the outskirts" John replied "We should get there"
"Right, we'll have to get to Outer Corinth before we can hijack a car..."
Law started to worry. How were they supposed to get out of Inner Corinth? He kept calm though, still holding his rifle with his pistols tucked in neatly into his trousers.
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 21:17
"We'd better get moving then" John replied checking the magazine on his rifle
Law ran out of the coffee shop and onto the streets. It was well into night now, and the darkness hid him and the Battlehawkian. They ran through the streets, occasionaly having to fire a few darts at Rangers. However, eventually, the Rangers caught on to them.
A squadron of ten Rangers spotted the duo. With their L85s, they unleashed fire on them. One of the Rangers pinned Law to the ground and tried to lodge a knife in his neck, but Law deflected the attempt and instead stuck the knife in the soldier's forehead, blood spraying all over him and Law.
Law started firing in short bursts, taking cover being a full skip along with John, the corpse of a Ranger right beside them.
"Start firing, you Battlehawkian!"
The Battlehawk
02-05-2009, 22:39
"You don't have to tell me twice!" John replied returning fire from his postion of cover
Law ran out of ammunition on his rifle, so he pulled out his dual pistols and stood up. He fired two bullets at each of the Rangers' heads, dropping them all instantly.
"Easy enough," smiled Law. "Reload, find a car and hotwire it."
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 08:53
"I know how to steal a car!" John said as he took the ammo from the nearest ranger before heading to find a car.
Law spotted a black BMW X5 in one of the alleys. He pointed towards it and shouted;
"Hotwire that!"
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 22:20
"No need" John replied with a grin as he found a spare key behind the eyeguard "Get it!"
Law hopped inside the BMW, and reloaded quickly. He put the safety on all his guns, and quickly took off his suit jacket and tie. There was no need. He opened the sunroof of the car, and stood up, L85 in hand. It was like a turret of sorts, but not quite. He was just standing up through the sunroof, aiming a L85 Rifle at anything which moved.
"I'm getting executed for this!" he laughed.
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 22:25
"Lets hope not, cause chances are I'll be right beside you getting killed!" John commented as he began to drive
President Harry Falkland stared coldly at the reports a renegade APS agent had just killed a squadron of Army Rangers and was now driving through Cornith, presumbaly to get out of the city. He put on his reading glasses and started reading the reports.
...following the assassination of Mrs. Winchester, Law chased after a young Asian male through the streets of Inner Cornith, causing much harm to the male and stealing his briefcase, presumbly containing two laptops...
...accompained a foreign agent - thought to be Battlehawkian - in using a dart gun on a fireteam of Rangers, followed closely by breaking into a closed coffee shop and taking the Rangers' L85 Rifles...
Killed a squadron of Rangers violently with the foreign agent, and collectively stole their Rifles and hijacked a BMW X5 automobile, and has started driving through Cornith...
Falkland shook his head. A renegade agent shooting Rangers and stealing? If any of this got out, then all hell would break out. He put down his reading glasses and sipped some iced water, staring into the night, pondering the universe, wondering where the duo were right now.
He made a call to Rangers Headquarters. Those bastards weren't getting out alive.
* * *
After about twenty minutes of driving through the closed streets of Cornith, a Eurocopter Tiger was in the air, chasing after the black BMW X5. It was visible just about by the duo, and the Tigre looked likely it was about to fire a GIAT 30 gun at them, or, if the situation went to hell and resulted in a stand off, a missile...
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 22:43
"Take the wheel!" John called "I can make a shot that'll just make them have to land"
Law jumped down as a short burst of gunfire missed them. He quickly took the wheel and started driving straight forward, hoping the Battlehawkian would make a good shot.
"You better make a good shot, or we're fucked!" he shouted as he went round a roundabout onto the main motorway out of Corinth.
Law looked forward. There was a large vehicle in front of them, absolutely massive. He paled in shock.
"Is that a Abrams?"
We're absolutely royally fucked now, he though in his developing panic, but he somehow managed to keep his cool. Somehow.
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 22:59
"Don't stop, keep moving!" John said calmly as he lined up his shot. Taking a breath he fired.
From the corner of his eye, Law could see the Eurocopter starting to spin out of control slowly, spinning slowly towards them. Suddenly, an idea entered his head.
He drove straight towards the Abrams. The helicopter kept spinning towards them, actually going straight towards the Abrams. At the last minute, Law made a turn away from the tank, and, in nothing short of a miracle, the car was far away enough from the wreckage to avoid being damaged heavily.
"Now we're either executed or started a war. Or both!" he laughed lightly, like a man realising he was going to die and wanting to enjoy his last days or so...
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 23:12
"Will the car still move?" John asked
Law didn't answer. The car appeared to be somehow undamaged, having dodged all the wreckage.
"Expect the Rangers to get on our backs soon," he said, before spotting a warehouse. "Is that the warehouse you were talking about?"
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 23:19
"That's it!" John replied "lets get in there before the rangers get here"
Law stopped the car instantly. He hopped out of the car and grabbed his L85, taking the safey off. He had no idea what was lurking in that warehouse. Slowly, he opened the door of the warehouse and started looking around it, the eerie feeling to it slightly scaring him.
He turned on a small flashlight, just for extra eyesight. He continued searching, not saying a word.
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 23:25
A sharp click rang out and Law had a Handgun to his head.
OOC: (My Partner Do not shoot)
Law froze instantly and dropped his guns, and slowly turnred to face the woman holding the gun against his black hair.
"You fucking bitch," he mouthed, before beginning to speak. "I'm with...John, isn't he? Battlehawk Intelligence?"
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 23:30
"It's all right Jane" John said calmly. Jane, who was clearly shook up lowered her weapon and put it into her holster.
"What the hell happened?" She asked
"Oh, after Winchster got assassinited, I started running after some kid whom I thought had conducted the assassination, but I was proved wrong, and eventually I find your friend here following me, and, long story short, we've killed ten Army Rangers and destroyed a Eurocopter and a Abrams," Law said quickly, picking his weapons back up.
He kept the safety on.
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 23:36
"What the hell'd you do all that for?" Jane asked as she lead them over to a area in the back of the wherehouse she had set up
"Hey, they were chasing us!" Law said lightly as he walked with Jane.
He realised that the Rangers were probably locating the warehouse now, and soon they would encircle them and start an all out stand off, an international incident in his book, and, if the Hellenic and the Battlehawkians blew this out of proporiation, a possible major war which Athanes would obviously prove to be the vanquished.
"The Rangers will be arriving soon..."
The Battlehawk
03-05-2009, 23:44
"Not a problem" Jane said after showing them the escape route she had found in the forms of sewers.
Law went into the sewers without a word, his L85 in his hands. It smelt awful, but he would take it like a man, knowing that a number of diseases resided in these dark tunnels.
Eventually, he and the others found his way out. He crawled onto the green grass, far away from the warehouse. After thanking Jenovah - he was Jewish - he turned to Jane & John.
"Now what do we do?"
The Battlehawk
04-05-2009, 07:57
"To Advoid execution we should probably try and catch this assassin of yours" John commeted.
"Execution?" Jane asked.
"I'll tell you later"
"We're going have to get out of here. Look around for a car, though I would still keep look out for the Rangers." Law 'ordered'.
Law started looking around the area, finding nothing but dead rabbits and corpses. He had his L85 in hand, and he stunk awfully after crawling through the sewers. As expected.
The Battlehawk
04-05-2009, 20:13
As Law disappeared Off John turned to Jane
"Have you spoken to Control?" He asked.
"While I was waiting on the secure line" Jane replied.
"What did they say?" John asked.
"They ordered to do what we can to help the agent, but if we get captured a SHADOW team will be inserted to rescue us" Jane replied.
"Good, lets get looking for a car"
