The home fleet sat in a quiet corner of a mostly unexplored galaxy. the fleet was mining away in a system that had been deemed safe for stripping. Ships seeded asteroids with tow drones. The drones tugging the asteroids back into the construction vessels to be broken down into their base elements. Home floated in orbit around one of the planets it was harvesting. mining ships cutting the thing apart to be dragged out orbit to be taken in. Ships warped in and out, ferrying loads of minerals from across the galaxy from various mining territories.
A single wedge shaped vessel slipped slowly out of the maw of the black moon. it was 5km in length. Its outer hull seemed incomplete, its outer plates being finished by construction drones, placing black plates that seemed to expand across the hull. A crew of drones going over the hull with a paint job of deep crimson.
On the bridge of the new superdreadnought. Stood Grand Admiral Roze, surrounded by a skeleton bridge crew. "Commander, all systems reporting green. Engineer sweep is approximately 60% complete. power systems are online and particle reactors are operating at 50%, all systems have been power tested and are reporting green." The admiral nodded "Right then, the Apocalypse class is complete. initiate construction protocols across the fleet, and begin fleet-wide refit." The comms officer nodded her affirmative and relayed the message to Pegasis command. Within the hour, across the fleet, construction vessels began to refit and construct new ships.
