"Have they all been sent to the camps?" asked Jake Featherston, Chairman of the North German State Confederation. He sipped his coffee at the enjoyable thought.
"Yes, Mister Chairman," replied Ferd Koenig, Secretary General. "However we are still cleansing some of the countryside, the locals there are helping but you know how it is, them uppity bastards."
They both laughed.
Jake turned on the Valkyrie Vision, the NGS version of the television. It came onto news channel 11, NGN (North German News).
"The People's Chairman has officially ordered all Sorskian North German citizens to be immediately deported to neighboring countries." the newscaster reported. "The exact location of these deportations are unknown, but the capital, Muenenburg, has been officially declared Sorskian free. Now for these messages."
Jake turned the Valkyrie Vision off.
Ferd and him stared at each other for a moment, then burst out laughing.
In the midst of the laughter, Jake said, "Give that newscaster a raise!" More laughter arose.

OOC: How should nations get involved Satellite images?
"What did you say they were up too?" Prime Minister Edward Caithana sat at the head of a large table, which currently was the center of a meeting of the Cabinet. The focus of the group was a Col. Johan Stevens, head of the North German State desk. "Well sir, it's hard to tell, but what we've been able to see from satellite imagery is a frightening resemblance to Ludolf's Detention Camps." "My God." In the 1930s and early 1940s, Ludolf had set up a series of "detention camps," which had been designed entirely to kill off the Sahen, a gypsy sect living in the country. The final count had been over 5 million killed. "What can we do?" The Intel officer shook his head. "Not much, I'm afraid. They have not killed anyone yet, that we know of, so technically this is entirely justified." "No, dammit, this is NOT justified!" "Prime Minister, until we have proof that they are killing Sorskians in those camps, we can do nothing."
OOC-my county fought a Nazi Germany-style country in it's past, so it has more of an idea of what you're doing

A bulky Montanaa satellite, one of many, as the country's leader is quite paranoid, swooped over the area surveying the land, when the cameras on board caught sight of some strange structures. People were milling around what seemed to be barracks surrounded by guard towers and fences. Thinking of them as military structures, the satellite was joined by several more and they began to snap pictures of the area, which in short order would be scrambled, sent to the ground, unscrambled, sent back up into space, scrambled again, and sent back down, unscrambled, and then printed.

"Ha! Are fucking kidding me?" Jake screamed with laughter.
"No sir, I am not." Ferd Koenig replied sternly.
He stopped laughing. "Right then, down to business." Jake said. "I want standard prison uniforms on all of those bastards. I want the chambers -- err, showers -- made to look like showers from above. I want guards equipped with police uniforms. All in all, make it look like a normal prison. Nothing more, nothing less. Clear?"
"Crystal, sir." Ferd Koenig replied. So this is why the people elected him!
"Oh and Ferd, tell those other fellows we would gladly take some of those guards. Pay them off for some training as well."
"Of course, sir."

We're here to get this running as efficiently as possible, and with as little fuss as possible. After all," he pasued to exhale smoke from a Guartaman cigar, "we got away with it for 15 years!" OOC: This looks like fun! Chimaea II is a forum puppet for http://www.nationstates.net/nation=chimaea [http://nswiki.net/index.php?title=Chimaea] because Jolt is crazy. I'll make this initial post, but if you don't want me to join in I'll leave it at that. If you do, then it's on like Donkey Kong!
----------------------------
Lady Tanya Bryce, Governor of Chimaea, Protector of the Commonwealth, spurted soft drink out of her nose trying to contain her laughter. Her advisers gave her annoyed looks and she shrugged helplessly. "Sorry. I can't take this seriously." She tapped on her speech notes. "This sounds like something L. Ron Hubbard would write. Look, I said I was sorry! Seriously though, I'm not saying that."
Her senior political adviser sighed and stared at her over his half-moon spectacles. "My Lady, with respect, we're trying to win an election here and we need to be on the front foot--"
Lady Bryce waved a hand. "Yes, yes, I know. But I've always campaigned on the strength of my own personality. Look, you give me the policy, the issues, the information. I'll speak on it." She sighed, her smile fading. "If it's one thing my father taught me, it's to sound like you mean what you say."
There was an awkward silence, then Lady Bryce shook her head with finality. "Ladies, gentleman, let's do this another time."
As the muttering advisers trooped out of her office, they made way for a looming, scowling figure with a peaked cap tucked under one arm. Lady Bryce groaned inwardly. "General, how nice to see you."
General de Santuro shrugged and sat himself down in front of her desk, placing the peaked cap on it to his right. As he always did. He placed a folder with surprising gentleness on the desk, facing her. "My Lady, it's good to see you too."
For the Commander in Chief of the Chimaean Armed Forces, General de Santuro looked awkward in the formal uniform he had to wear. He was greying now, but Lady Bryce knew he still yearned to be in combat, trading his peaked cap for a helmet and a CR60 and charging enemy lines. They'd never gotten on too well, though. Lady Bryce didn't yearn for her days in Marine Recon as much as the General did in Infantry. He respected her though, in his own way.
He looked tense now. Never a good sign.
"There's been... rumours." he began, with difficulty.
Lady Bryce raised an eyebrow. "Rumours?"
He shifted uncomfortably. "Yes. Intelligence too vague to be called anything else, and yet... there they are. Have you heard of a place called the North German State Confederation?"
Lady Bryce frowned and mentally went through her briefings. "North German... oh yes, I think so. The head of state is... Blake Birdstorm?"
"Jake Featherstom. Yes. Spot of National Socialism gathering there, I believe."
Lady Bryce caught the hidden context in that remark and looked interested. "Really? Are we talking skin-lampshades here?"
"Nothing so obvious but there are reports that Sorskian North Germans are being deported into prisons. I have... other sources which reports something a bit more sinister going on, but nothing for certain." The General looked uneasily at her. "Look, Governor, I don't know what's going on. But I'm getting some bad vibes off this. Slaver-War (http://nswiki.net/index.php?title=Amerigan_Slaver_War) size vibes, if you know what I mean."
Lady Bryce drummed her fingers on her desk. "Hmm. All right. Keep an eye on it, eh? Brief Ambassador de Souza at the W.A. of a potential issue and... why not nudge one of the Baron Defence Grid (http://nswiki.net/index.php?title=Baron#Baron_Defence_Grid) sats over the German State Confederation? Take a peek at what's happening there. If anything."
The General seemed about to say something, then changed his mind and stood. "Thank you, My Lady." he said, saluted and walked out.
Lady Bryce opened the slim folder and read the briefs. She lingered over a file photo of Jake Featherstom, a frown etched on her face. "Slaver-war big?" she muttered. "You'd better bloody well not be."

Jake Featherston walked out onto the podium in front of a screaming cheering crowd. He let them cheer on for a minute or so, then quited them with a crisp flick of his arm.
"North German Confederates, today a great day is upon us. A day that will live in infamy. A day that we as a people have dreamed of. The day when all of the North German Confederation is Sorskian Free!"
The crowd exploded with cheers. Thanks to government propaganda, the anti-Sorskian feeling was deep in everyone. During all of the commotion, Ferd Koenig walked out on stage and whispered a single word in Jake's ear.
Jake quickly apologized to the crowd and left, leaving them puzzled. The crowd was rushed out at once.
That one word Ferd Koenig had told Jake Featherston that day would have sent chills down any major governments' spine. Rebellion.

"But if they're testing weapons or storing something there that could upset peace in the area, we must know!" Burns responded with much anger.
The President then interrupted. "Diplomacy must rule over these matters. If it is a peaceful venture with no intentions of violence, or a venture at weaponry. Either way we must know before any extreme actions are taken. Do you understand General Burns?"
"Crystal." And with that, he walked stiffly out of the chamber.

As our military currently is busy fighting Communists who think they can just barge into our capitol, we cannot offer much aid. five hours later, Parliament House, New Sydney
"Shoot."
The room darkened and the wall opposite Lady Bryce's desk turned into a gaitn screen. Information flashed up on it and a picture formed.
Lady Bryce looked intently at it, then shrugged. "All right, what're we looking at here?"
General de Santuro pointed to an area of the screen with a laser pointer. "This was taken five hours ago over over the North German State Confederation. It shows a prison which has had a recent influx of inmates."
Lady Bryce shrugged again. "Yes? And?"
"We would assume from the dimensions of the prison that it is designed to hold about one thousand, maybe one thousand five-hundred inmates. At least two thousand, perhaps even two thousand five-hundred has been taken here."
"No additional facilities?" Lady Bryce frowned.
"Not that we can see, although there have been much enclosed transportation out of the prison. Sealed trucks, not passenger transports. There's been some recent modifications done to certain buildings but we can't ascertain the nature of the work involved."
Lady Bryce tapped her fingers on her desk then sighed wearily. "It's certainly compelling, General, although it could well be innocent."
The older man shrugged. "Could be, My Lady. I doubt it though. Coupled with certain broadcasts that have been made and the certainty of other nations that ethnic cleansing, of almost Holocaust proportions, has been taking place..."
"Look, General. I can't commit our forces en masse to another foreign war."
General de Santuro nodded. "I understand, My Lady," he said smoothly, "And I would not ask that of you. However, perhaps a small but sizeable force on standby, ready to support an international operation?"
Lady Bryce stared narrowly at him. "Don't paint me into a corner, General. You know that if Chimaeans start dying there, I have no choice but to commit."
General de Santuro smiled a little. "A nation has sent inspectors, and surprisingly North German State Confederation has allowed them in. I suggest we wait until the results of that inspection before deciding either way."
"All right, General, but it will be your own head rolling if this gets bogged down."
"Understood."
Lady Bryce sat back in her chair and looked at the satellite picture once more. "Inform Phil, tell him to contact this Confederation and see what they say."

If the relocation of Sorskian North German citizens is a policy in your nation, then the Commonwealth will gladly accept a considerable percentage of these peoples as immigrants; we offer to meet the costs and logistics of such transportation.
Please give due consideration to our requests.
Kind regards,
Phillip Achefield
Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade

The three Dropships and Anacondas had been en route to the NGS for 7 hours, and now stood just outside their border, awaiting further instruction from command and/or the nation they were about to land in. The inspectors onboard were quite nervous about what they about to expect. The marines onboard cared more about whether there would be a firefight against enemy forces. For now all they could do was wait...

The small aerial force was heading towards the landing site of the target the Non-coms were going to inspect. The pilots had been awake 29 hours being briefed back at the Port, flying, and keeping in constant contact with the Port back in Montanaa. Radar and satellites kept a close eye on them so if radio contact was lost and they were fired on or destroyed, the Military and President would know immediately.

We request permission for our Marines' to maintain their weapons. If required, the Marines will be held inside the Dropships while the Inspectors move out and ascertain the condition of the camp(s) and prisoners. We shall also be landing very shortly and expect the utmost cooperation so we can decide the proper course of action if any International Laws have been found to be broken.

Dropships landing now. Marines will remain inside Dropships as per agreement.
Captain Daly maneuvered the ship carefully into position over the landing site. Out of his peripheral vision, he could see the other two Dropships hovering and setting down as well. A flicker of movement of caught his sight, until he realized it was only their escort fighters. His attention quickly turned back to the control panel and the ground before him.
With a pneumatic hiss, the landing gear and ramp deployed down and with a slight shudder hit the ground.
"This is Captain Daly. All ships reporting in? Over." He radioed to his comrades.
"Confirmed. A-2 has set down and is awaiting orders. Over."
"A-3 is down as well. Orders Captain? Over."
"I'll radio Port and tell them were down safe and sound. Over."
"A-1, we've been listening, you're clear to deploy Inspectors. As ordered, keep all troops inside. We'll radio you if we have any problems. Same with you. Over"
"Confirmed Port. Over and out."
And without a word, the Inspectors got up, grabbed their meager equipment, and marched down the ramp towards the camp, wondering what they find.

"Let 'em in," said Assistant Troop Leader, Freidreich Halen.
The disguised police officers opened the gates and led the inspectors inside. They had secretly been led off course to a normal prison..... and little did they know, they would never get out of there. Alive, at least.

The inspectors walked through the gates, scrutinizing every inch of the camp. One of the Inspectors walked up to the man apparently in charge of the camp.
"Greetings Sir. I am W.A. Clark, head of the Montanaa Humanitarian Association. Anything I find in this camp will be reported to other nations requesting such information. If you would be so kind as to lead me and my cohorts to where the Prisoners are kept and for a tour of the area."

With Clark in the lead, the Inspectors began to go up and ask the prisoners questions. Others went up to the Guards and asked how they themselves treated the Prisoners.
Up in low orbit, a lone satellite strayed away from the pack watching the area where the Dropships had landed, and took a look at the area surrounding the prison, when it's onboard camera snapped a picture and sent it back down faster and less scrambled than any one before it. Its operator back on Earth had noticed something strange. Covered trucks were still leaving other camps, but not this one. Senior Officials would have to look at it themselves to decide if it was worth further investigation.

Back in Anselmo City, the President and Generals were looking at the satellite images before and after. They found no trucks had been leaving the prison the Inspectors were at.
While other camps had dwindling numbers of trucks leaving.
"Sir, I believe either this prison has already finished its job and our men are now touring an empty death camp, or we've been mislead, and their trying to deceive us! While out there, there are still more of these that could still be killing people. We must act fast, and now." General Kirakiri answered to the President. "We must call on other nations to respond and ask to have their own look at these prisons or camps."
"I agree with you now General. We may already be to late, but if we can save any of them that are left... Contact their nation now, I want solid physical evidence now!"

Freidreich Halen slowed down from escorting the inspectors. He pulled out a cigarette....which was the signal. The Snipers armed with Featherston-27's opened fire and the inspectors fell like pigeons. He heard an explosion in the distance, which meant the drop ship had been destroyed. And he smoked that cigarette.

OOC: all three dropships and their escort fighters?
The satellites watching the area went into overdrive. Their operators had been advised to watch for explosions or fires in the immediate vicinity of the Dropships. Now, thermal vision on the satellites was reporting intense heat right where the Dropships were supposed to be located. Two of the five satellites there snapped photos and then began to transmit them down to the Central Intelligence Network in Montanaa's capital city. Pictures of flaming ships, although the exact number was not known for there was some cloud cover in the area, could be seen in both thermal and normal camera mode. All at once, back in Port at the same time, they lost radio contact with the Marines' and Dropship's.
The telephones' rang in the highest offices' of cabinet, from the President to his generals, to the congressman. As each one picked up, they received the news. 15 Inspectors dead, and an unknown amount of Dropships' and maybe even their fighters destroyed.

If it was a mechanical malfunction, we should have known about. Diagnostics were run by the ships navigator every four hours. For all five ships to have blown up at the same time unless it was a major malfunction of two or more is very highly suspicious. As well, we have some more classified material aboard the ships. We would like to retrieve it ourselves, if the NGS would be so obliged too open their borders for a short time for a recovery team.

A half dozen flatbed trucks zealously guarded by Marines' and Humvees' wound its way across then roads to the crash site of one of the downed fighters. Weapon and design experts would be able to tell what had caused it and all the others to crash. There were others heading towards the Dropships to pick them up as well as the other ship.
"Hook the harness to it!" yelled one of the workman, "We need this done by nightfall", as the crane included with the trucks swung its boom around and lowered its cable and hook down so the workmen could attach a harness to it. Once that was done, it began to lift one of the wings' onto a waiting flatbed truck. It would take awhile, but they would get every bit of the ship onto the trucks and haul it out, draped in dark blue tarps to keep away from prying eyes.
The President was once more seated with his entire staff of high-ranking generals discussing what action to take. The President wanted to be more cautious and less hasty, while a few of the other generals wanted immediate action from him and other nations.
"Gentleman, please, if we get involved in a war, it could mean thousands or even hundred thousands dying. We must wait for sufficient evidence of attacks!" Argued the President. "We just have to wait for the ships and bodies to get back here and let Investigators look at it".
"Investigators, investigators, too many of them! WE NEED ACTION NOW," yelled a lesser known general Harman. "Bureaucracy will be the death of us"
"So could war General," pointed out the President. He took a deep breath and said, "We shall wait, as soon as the first ship arrives and its scars prove it was fired it, then we shall take action. Until then, no anything against the NGS. Class dismissed."
Grudgingly, all got up to leave and whispered among themselves about what to do when the time came, and before it...
