OOC: This is now closed. All those who signed up originally are invited, but I'm leaving this open. I changed things. I have designated NPC Planet X as the location of the actual remains of The Great Old Ones, and the elder gods they worshiped. I will of course, be attacking the planet, and trying to obtain the remains.

Five days ago...

Space began vibrating at an unusual frequency, a sign of an event that only happened once every one hundred years. With a great burst of light, a planet came out of a fold in space becoming visible, and accessible, for the first time in a century. It was never accessible for more than a year, and normally, this caused no problems, but a Swarm ship caught sight of it, it, and a secret it held deep within.

"Awaken my Children, and once more reclaim the glories of your collective birthrights. Our long search is finally over, for I have discovered a world that hides from us, the remains of the great old ones. Go now, and take the collective might of the entire extended Swarm to assault this planet and take by force if necessary that which we so greatly desire." The Overmind said, awakening it's sleeping subordinates Zasz, Daggoth, and Irene.


Now...

"Sir, that strange organic ship is still holding within our space. It is unresponsive, and all satellites sent it's way are destroyed. I'm afraid it's unfriendly and it might have friends." a nervous thin man in a white lab coat said. He was one of many in a private meeting room with the President of the Holy Solar Union.

"What are our chances against that thing?" The president, a strong and powerful man known for his wisdom, fairness and devotion to good and just causes.

"Sir, that's a space ship. It has weapons. We can barely crawl around our solar system, let alone fight something like that. If it so chose, it could just sit up there and rain death upon us." The general of the combined HSU forces said.

"Well, as long as it's just sitting there, let's not needlessly aggravate the thing." the president said.

Five days later...

"Sir, Our long range scanners indicate that a massive swarm is moving through The Warp, towards us! All the ships are identical in design to that first one. Their numbers are beyond comprehension!" a junior scientist said.

"We have but one hope, make a plea for aid to our neighbors in the galaxy, I can use our normal planetary communications, in conjunction with long range scanners, to rig up long range communications. With any luck, someone will respond and aid us." the elder scientist said.

"Do it." the president said.

"This is a plea for aid from President Firzgerald of The Holy Solar Union of Planet X to the collective nations of the galaxy. The words were played before the Conclave for perhaps the eleventh time that day, the words of a desperate man.

"Summon the swarm leader on this world." The Executor demanded, his eyes literally glowing with anger.

"They have broken their promise to maintain peace with the galaxy! They can't lie to me and tell me their taking their entire extended swarm to go have a tea party!" Judicator Artanis said.

The messenger returned, eyes wide with shock.
"The Hive, it's killed itself! All the swarmlings, all of it, dead!"

"That does it. I'm taking my fleet there personally to stop The Swarm. Zeratul, gather your clansmen, their coming as well." The Executor said.
"As I thought. We shall be ready come sunrise."

For decades, the Order of the Basilisk has kept to its traditional roles of judgment and peacekeeping among the worlds of the Republic. Now, a great enemy threatens an innocent planet. The Order cannot stand by and see innocent beings destroyed...

The message from the Union provoked immense debate. The Council of Elders argued behind closed doors for five days. Then, they emerged. "In accordance with the Code of Ashani, we have decided that we cannot allow this to stand. We shall send some of our best to this Planet X, to aid the Holy Star Union in its fight for survival. We shall not go through the Senate, nor the Supreme Chancellor. We shall do this as Ashani."

The next day, a Flurry-class carrier carrying 30 Ashan starfighters and ten Scimitars each carrying 10 Ashan Warriors, Apprentices, and Masters departed from Byss for Planet X. They would arrive in a matter of days. They prayed it was not too late.

In the depths of space, three massive objects pick up the radio waves, and curious to their origin, follow to the source of the signal. The three objects are massive metal spheres, each about the size of a large asteroid. Each of the spheres is merely a shell however, filled with thousands of multicolored balls of plasma. Upon entering the galaxy, they come to a halt and remain motionless in the darkness of space.

OOC: For those not in the know, The Rotan = The Eternal Swarm = The Rotan = Both are by the same person. So as I say The Ashani forces played by Telvira met The Rotanian forces as both arrived, I do so as the thread's GM/DM/player in control of the story, and not as an attempt at GMing. I'm having them met to get a coordinated defence set up faster. As ZL is an enigma, I'll let ZL worry about ZL.

I will allow time enough for a strategy meeting.

IC: The Ashani forces met The Rotanian forces as they both arrived.

"Hail and well met, I assume such a well built fleet is not from X. I am glad to know I have company in facing The Swarm this second time around. The first time I was caught by surprise. Perhaps a meeting is in order, both with each other, and with the leader of the planet, what do you say?" The Executor said, as he prepared to create just such a meeting.

"This is Master Joran Kass, leader of the Army of Light. I agree that a meeting is in order. If you have a location in mind, then I will be there shortly."

"This is stupid." Apprentice Ran Sekorak sat on the floor of the cabin of the Basilisk Tamer, one of the Scimitar-class couriers assigned to the Army of Light. "Why has the Council committed so much to this planet that we've never heard of, to battle an unknown enemy that isn't threatening us." Nearby, Ran's Master, Riza Kiem, sat on the floor as well, in a meditation stance. "We are here because we cannot allow an entire planet to become fodder. The Council has decided and we shall obey." "But what about the Republic?! How many disputes, how many injusices, will go unnoticed or ignored because a third of the Order is off gallivanting on this planet?! We should be worrying about our own galaxy's affairs, not the problems of these people!" "Calm yourself, apprentice." The disapproval on Kiem's face was visible, even though her eyes remained closed. "We are here; there is no use arguing about it. Now we must wait for battle."

The ship held the communications line open, and networked in a channel to the planet that everyone might hear what was decided.

"Hail President Fitzgerald of The Holy Solar Union, I am The Executor, leader of The Conclave which guides all Rotan Everywhere. When I heard of your plight against The Swarm, I came personally. I am joined by another known as Master Joran Kass, leader of the army of light. It would be well advised that we all meet somewhere secure to go over your defenses and discuss strategy against the swarm." The Executor said, his voice adopting a slight echo.

"Praise be, I thought no one might hear. Yes, come on down immediately, I invite you both to the capital. It's where I'm broadcasting from. Being alien species, I'm not quite sure if our coordinate system matches with yours, but surly you can trace a signal." The president said.

"As you learn more of the universe, you will discover the system by which many nations navigate. Its all but a standard, and is normally why no one worries about such matters. But that is a different subject. I shall be with you in the hour." The Executor said, the echo becoming more of a phase distortion.

The Executor descended in one of the Phase Prisms, a strange and beautiful ship made of exotic crystals and golden metals.

Once both The Executor and Master Joran Kass were present, they were driven by Chauffeur and limo to a large building that may or may not have been the bastard offspring of a mating between temple and a fortress. Clearly it could easily be defended. It was ancient, and comprised of monolithic stones similar to Quartz. It was decorated expansively to whatever these people worshiped.

This building in particular, was both the primary center of worship, and the center of Government.

The inside was tiled with Marble. President Fitzgerald was a medium sized man that was clearly on edge over the situation. The room they were sat in was the nations old War room, woefully out of date and unable to compete with anything either visitor could offer.

"I apologize for the room, we haven't warred in over a thousand of our years. How could we? We've only recently learned of the phenomenon in which we disappear from your normal space for a century at a time." President Fitzgerald said.

"There is no need to apologize for successfully maintaining peace for such a long time, as long as it accurately shows us the lay of the land, it shall suffice." The Executor said.

a huge alert message appeared on all the monitors
"ALERT! ALERT! ancient race detected, sector G1,A2QK5/tea/gu56 ero," the loud alert AI shouted all around the room
"what the hell is going on?" shouted the admiral
"sir, we have a confirmed bio mechanical ship orbiting a planet and confirmed unidentified bio mechanical ships traveling through the warp"
"connect to the old database on board PF 1"
"sir the connection is established,the AI says we are too send our strongest battleship to the aid of the planet!"
"well go on then, send the battleship!!"

"This is Zeratul, Prelate of The Dark Templar and member of The Rotan Conclave. Our leader, as well as the leader of the other fleet in orbit have already descended to the planet to do the very thing you have just suggested. I will send you their coordinates that you might join them and inform them of your impending arrival. You might wonder why we are answering instead of them, so I shall tell you regardless. We have Networked all communications into one massive system relayed through the Rotan Fleet. We will hold this channel as your connection to The Network. In battle all allied forces must be able to communicate quickly and efficiently, or be defeated by the superior communications of The Overmind."

"executor,master kass i am rear admiral Hikari, my battle group will stay in space as a defensive blockade, until we have a better use for it, what do you suggest?"

Master Kass nodded. "I must say, I have not heard of this Swarm until your message. Perhaps you can tell me more about them. Or it."

"Master Kass, Admiral Hikari, President Fitzgerald, what's coming through the Warp is Quite literally the stuff of Nightmares. Searching Archives and records, we found the records of multiple scientists, priests, and historians, and managed to piece together information on the swarm.

The Swarm is the perfect engine of Chaos. They were made in an event known as Chaos Undivided. It is an event in which Khorne, Tzeentch, Nurgle, and Slaanesh all four unite behind a single objective, and in so doing, become more powerful than ever. Though no man can ever hope to fathom their reasoning for doing so, they created the swarm.

The Swarm is the perfection of Evolution, and can quickly evolve defenses to attacks, environments, and even Pathogens. They go from world to world, and eat the entire world, all life, all organic matter, the atmosphere, the water, all of it, and leave behind a barren ball of rock where once there was life. They have a collective consciousness known as The Overmind. The Overmind itself rules via it's lesser consciousnesses known as Cerebrates. The Queen of The Swarm is its greatest agent.

When they attack, they seed a rebellion on the world through a cult they call the genestealer cult. Tell me, has there been rebellious activity as of late?" The Executor asked.

"No, it's been peaceful." The president asked.

"Then something bothers me. This is not like the swarm. Yes they come in great numbers, but normally, they seed a rebellion first, and they do not get the great numbers together that My fleet has detected in the warp. I am measuring numbers in the hundreds of millions, and fear that by the time it arrives, it will be over a billion. It's as if they've gotten together the entire extended swarm. Whatever you have here, they want badly." The Executor said.

"But, we have nothing of particular value. Certainly nothing of Chaos. Not that I'm aware of." the president said, on the verge of giving into panic.

The Executor's Eyes flashed with great power, glowing brighter than they had been. An enforced sense of calm descended upon the room.

"Then perhaps it is time we got started on planetary strategy. Our fleets can hold only so much of the swarm back. Eventually, their going to break through. I have brought many drones with me, to warp in Pylons and Phase cannons. I need to know the layout of the land, to protect your important centers of civilization. The Swarm will launch a ground assault, and with their numbers, it will be one bloody fight to repel them." The Executor said.

"Right, and, I don't know what you did with the glowing eyes trick, but it helped." The President said.

At that moment, the door burst open, and a woman adorned with feathers and skulls bearing a wooden staff came running in.

"Grandson! I have heard the voice of the Swarm echoing through the warp, and heard the voices of four great and terrible beings responding to it!" she said.
"Please forgive my grandmother. She believes herself to have psionic powers, as if that actually existed." the president said, moving to remove his grandmother.
"Actually, they do exist, for I have them myself. I wish to hear what she has to say. If she somehow can hear what the enemy is saying, it may prove invaluable."
President fitzgerald looked shocked, but unhanded her.
"I was meditating upon the mysteries of the universe, when one was revealed to me. My spirit was taken by a strange golden white light to The Warp, and there I beheld many horrors, including the Swarm. As I looked, I heard the voice of the swarm, and it cried out to its masters saying that if finally found the remains of the rebel gods who crossed them so many years ago. The Swarm pleaded with them to keep the information contained in their remains to resurrect them within the swarm, and in so doing, use them to further the glories of the real gods of Chaos. Then the four great and terrible voices responded, saying that if the swarm could come into possession of them, then the swarm may use them. But they also warned that strong enemies would seek to stop them. The voices named the rebel gods by name, and they were Azathoth, Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth, Dagon, and Cthulhu. They promised that the secrets of The Great Old Ones would someday be theirs." The old woman said.
President Fitzgerald went pale.
"Those bodies are in the crypts below this very temple. Friends, they mean to attack the capital." President Fitzgerald said.

"Then we shall concentrate our powers upon the capital. I shall call down my drones and erect the outermost barrier. I will also require a large plot of land in which to have a few other buildings erected to call in reinforcements from Ruia if necessary. We will also set up defences around the other major population centers, have everyone cluster into the cities. Do it quickly, we don't have much time. Master Kass, Admiral Hikari, you will shortly get a first hand lesson on the Swarm, and the horrors of Chaos." The Executor said.

"I do not have many under my command. But I do have some of the best my Order has to offer. They shall learn what it means to fight Ashani."

As this was being said, the rest of the Army of Light landed near the capital. The remaining Ashani disembarked and began setting up small portable shelters outside the capital.

"in our own archives we have similar information on the swarm, that is why we came,we will erect a sea of Dirac shield to defend the capital city, our ships will station as a blockade to defend the city,and we,ll send a BOMBARDER defense station to 'block the warp', chaos shall not rule."said admiral Hikari
as hikari said this one of the two BOMBARDER weapons and a Dirac generator where being pulled by a group of tugs

IC:"Might I ask what a Sea of Dirac is?" The Executor asked.

Meanwhile, The Rotan Phase prisims had all descended, and deposited the entirety of the ground troops, and the Probes. The Probes drifted along to certain spots here, and there, and a bright blue spark touched off from their bodies, causing a massive chain reaction in the air. Then they moved on, and by the time they were done, the city was ringed with Pylons and Phase Cannons. EVERYTHING received a performance boost from the Pylons, everything within a fifty mile radius.

Then they drifted to a five acre plot of land in the city, and did the same thing there, except various Rotan buildings appeared.

"All is in Readyness, and just in time." The Executor said.

Near the blockade...

Warp energy signals suddenly spiked and went off the charts entirely. Transmission signals suddenly became filled with static, and space began to twist around a spot.

At this spot, a spark appeared, and great ponderous bolts of energy shot out of it, and into the materium. The static began to sound like ocean waves, while space ripped itself apart, sounding almost wooden in the process. Thunder rolled through the minds of everyone, but was not heard upon the air. Slowly it grew bigger and bigger, as Chaos energy filled the system, feeding upon the deepest darkest parts of all present.

The President himself, one of the first to be fully effected suddenly began screaming like a madman, huddled up into a corner, and became absolutely worthless. His Grandmother backed up into another corner, looking about her like she was to be put to the stake for witchcraft.

The citizens began to run riot, looting, screaming, yelling, killing, they didn't care who they attacked. It wasn't their fault, it was the Chaos energy, and was in fact, the opening attack by the swarm.

As rainbow colored light filled the system, rainbow light that was actually Chaos Energy, a great multitude of Organic ships appeared from out of the nexus. Yet the nexus didn't close, the ships kept it open!

Four great and terrible voices filled the system, whispering into the minds of each person, feeding upon their souls, corrupting them to Chaos, subverting them to darkness.

A fifth boomed out, riding over the voices. The others could be heard, certainly, but the fifth was the clearest, and most distinct. The others were never quite clear as to what they wanted, but spurred action anyway.

"Harken and attend unto my words. Know that I am The Overmind, the Eternal Will of The Swarm, and I have come to devour thee. Yet I am not without pity, and will grant you but one chance to save your lives, as well as those of your people. Give me the remains of The Great Old Ones that lie buried in your world and your largest population center, and I shall depart and leave you unharmed. On this, you have my word." The Overmind said.

Master Kass could feel the Chaos presence in his mind, as could the other Ashani. Uniting in the Force, they were able to retain their sanity.

OOC: Might I ask what a Sea of Dirac is, and how it will effect the Swarm later?

IC:"Might I ask what a Sea of Dirac is?" The Executor asked.


OOC: a sea of Dirac is an infinite sea of negative energy, anything that touches it will sink into it and be lost from this quantum universe, the physical appearance of a SOD is a black area but the shape/size can be modified but this is dependent on the amount of power used to initiate. once matter enters the event horizon the SOD powers itself. expand it over an energy shield and you have a sea of Dirac shield. To turn it off just stop the supply of matter and it will close. if you surround something completely with a Dirac shield communications can enter but teleports cant. the main plus side of the SOD is that once it is started it can power extremely power hungry machines E.G the BOMBARDER.

"after initiation the shield will absorb anything it comes in contact with, more information is considered classified, our ancient systems are very keen to save this planet,so we are using some of the most advanced stuff we have, the physics behind the Dirac sea are mind boggling."explained admiral Hikari, she could here the chaos message but didn't bother with it, she had been through much worse psychic torture and come out sane, as she was after all like every NERV officer she was a psychic, and she returned the favor by sending her own message back 'chaos can die as easily as it can live, I WILL DESTROY YOU CHAOS, AND ALL YOUR MINIONS TOO YOU WILL DIE!!'

the sea of Dirac poured out of the inducer like ink being poured, it completely cocooned the planet, it then changed color from black to transparent in a flash.

OOC: No. No Cocooning the planet. By the way you put things, it is impossible to defeat one. I'm willing to allow a Dirac Shield only under the following 2 circumstances:

A) It does not cover the planet.
b) it does not extend underground.

By all means, cover the city, it'll still provide superior defense, but what's the point in trying if I have 0 chance?

Good Lord man, I go eat dinner and you bump the thread, I didn't think it was THAT exciting. Actually, go ahead and delete your last post where you scale it back, I have a plan to deal with a world Dirac shield...


Also, I do not yet have the genetic Data necessary to cope with such a thing as a Dirac Shield.

"No. I don't know what you are, but I won't give up a sacred national treasure, nor the bones of our ancestors because you think you want them." the president said, fighting his way out of the effects of Chaos.

"As the president himself says know, so too do we then also say no, refusing to deliver up that which you so desire. You have nothing to gain here, go home!" The Executor ordered, knowing it was futile.

The Rotanian ships powered their weapons systems, and prepared for a slaughter.

On the ground, the Ashani finished building their small camp, then gathered in the center of the camp. With a flash of brilliant white light, all 99 Ashani had their lightsabers ignited and ready, the white blades awaiting the taste of blood.

"So be it, but let it be known, I gave you a chance. Then I hereby swear a Blood Oath to Khorne to devour this planet, or die in the attempt." The Overmind said.

Thunder rumbled from The Warp.

Thunder rolled from The Swarm.

Then the Swarm began buzzing and vibrating at exotic frequencies, glowing brightly. A massive gravitational field began emanating from the Swarm, and a massive shadow fell across the Warp Nexus closing it, and darkened the sun. The Swarm had erected The Shadow in The Warp, it's own FTLi, and had cut off all communications without exception, and all FTL travel. NO reinforcements would be arriving from anywhere.

A massive presence could be felt, but it was Non-Corporeal. It was energy. It reached out for the Dirac shield, and found it could go through it. It reached down to the surface and entered the minds of the rioting citizens of X. While the entire Swarm ejected it's entire compliment of Jets, 500 million in total, and six larger Swarmlings, The presence caused the citizens to turn on their benefactors and attack the Dirac Generator to disable it.

No one would know, but many would quickly understand, this massive mysterious presence was The Overmind itself.

(Jets take 2-3 shots to destroy. The first misses, and if the second doesn't kill, it disables. If a third shot isn't then fired quickly, a Jet will soon regenerate itself and be whole once more. The Six larger Swarmlings are Hero units and are more difficult to kill. If you do kill them, they'll respawn in three posts. Jets respawn in two. Unless you have Psionic Weaponry, you cannot destroy the swarm, only disable it. Thus The Rotan are The Swarm's biggest threat.)

the BOMBARDER hung lazily in orbit where the tugs had left it, a surge of energy, sparked it into life,it turned using its thrusters and took aim on the inducer, the AI targeting computer aiming for the dead center of the matter conversion chamber, it fired, the huge psychic shock hit the SOD and it rippled like water, then it imploded into the inducer.

"SOD disabled... wait, its turning berserker!!!"
"power levels reaching critical,we cant control it!,its here the sea is in here, oh frack..."

its over there, its fallen into the shape of a ball. the inducer is in the center of it, and the bombarder is still being operated by its AI, the Leliel(the sea of Dirac gone berserker) is moving towards it!"

OOC: The way I read that, the Dirac has fallen and surrounds only that which generates it.

IC: With the Dirac shield gone, a masssive wave of Mysetic Hive Spores were launched from the Hive Fleet, the jets went first, moving at incredible speeds, and began shooting at the blockade, drawing their fire away from the Mysetic Hive Spores. Some spores would head to the ships and grind their way in to release the troops inside to directly attack the ships.

The rest would head to the world below, to work their way into the soil and mutate into Hive Clusters after releasing their troops.

Meanwhile...

With the Chaos energy gone, the president's grandmother held her head.

"Ohh, I don't feel so well. I don't know what that strange light was, but it made me feel sick. I'm going to go lay down awhile." she said.

"Alright grandma, feel better soon." the president said.

And so she left, but she didn't stay in her room long. In her hands she carried a prototype scanner, capable of scanning a target and revealing all sorts of medical data, including it's genetic code.

Where she got it from, one could only guess. Where she was going, well, that wasn't clear at all. But she was using what small power she did have, to remain undetected.

She went down to the lower levels of the temple, and entered a secret passageway...

The three objects in space suddenly spring to life, moving at great speed towards the planet. The bizarre radio waves it gives off continue, beginning to overrun radio systems with the odd mechanical sounds and near gibberish. At great speed, one of the balls approaches the swarm, another approaches the planet, and one continues to remain motionless. The one heading towards the planet begins to break up, the thousands of orbs encase themselves in the steel shell and head towards the surface of the world en mass.

"wait, the psycho-graphic censors are off the scale, the spores and fighters seem to be being controlled by a psychic frequency, decoding now" another officer said
"great, with any luck we,ll be able to disconnect the fighters and the spores from the hive brain, how is the AA holding up?"

"sir we are picking up small autonomous spheres they're moving en mass towards the planet confirming a hostile stance, they seem to be controlled by electrical signals, should we launch an EMP missile?"
"yes and fire a 'planet buster' at the sphere that hasn't moved,also try to hack one of the spheres computer system"

"psycho frequency de-fragmented, its possible to hack and upload a virus program into the brains if the fighters, disabling them"

the captain sighed, it had been a long time since a full scale enguagement had been serviced by the NERV navy.he sent a psychic message to the admiral 'your not safe, come back and command the battle from the ship'
she replied 'its my duty to control the AA and ground forces, send the drop ships down, we need more defense down here'

"send all the drop ships down to the admirals position ,now!"

The Executor said nothing about the president's grandmother being sick, though something bothered him about it. He hid his worry, never guessing what was really going on.

Meanwhile, the Rotan ships engaged the Hive Fleets, the Swarms of Jets, and the Hive Spores directly, firing into the clusters of enemies.

But not everything would be caught, and a significant number of Hive Spores would drop down to the planet below.

OOC: When did you get a "Planet Buster" Missile? Why wouldn't you use it against the swarm in the first place? And how do you hack bio-system?
IC: Many of the spheres are caught in the EMP blast, and begin to thrash around wildly as if they had their eyes cut out. Those caught in the blast began to crash to the ground and thrash about, like if a sea urchin were on land and filled with jumping beans. The others begin to engage the swarm fighter units in close combat.
Meanwhile the large sphere notices the incoming missile and simply launches a piece of the shell at it while moving away at great speed, causing the missile to detonate some distance away.

In space, the Hive ships dodge the large sphere. Some have been destroyed, which has begun to thin the numbers of the swarms being produced.

On the world below, the dropped Hive Spores mutate into Hives, releasing their passengers at the same time.

In a Hive Ship...

"It seems we may not be able to kill these people directly. We shall prepare Khorne's Wrath and destroy them instead with disease. Have the Hives below begin producing type 2 Swarms, and send one drone underground to go meet with that old bat after she gives us what we want. Also, have my next body be on the world below to lead the attack." Irene said, as she emerged from a chrysalis, having been freshly reincarnated, after being slaughtered by NERV ships. With that, she flew out again.

Meanwhile...

The presidents' grandmother scanned the assorted bones and dust present in the ancient tomb, and read the results quietly to herself. The Information was picked up, and passed along to The Overmind.

Back out in space...

The Shadow in The Warp suddenly fell, as half the Hive ships present suddenly disappeared into The Warp. After they left, it went up again.

The Overmind spoke once more, again, overriding all communications systems.

"At long last our searching is over. President Fitzgerald, be glad your grandmother is an intelligent woman. To save your world, and your life, she volunteered to let me control her, that I might learn what I wanted through her eyes. Now I return her to you, and you will still die, but now I no longer need the entire swarm."

"frack!, did any one else hear that? im calling reinforcements, we do not need FTL, or the warp!"hikari said very angrily"i will destroy the swarm, like my forefathers destroyed the wraith!" she then sent a message to the captain of INN-mikado 'get planet-fall 1 and path-1 here, fully crewed and refitted with the Dirac drives' he replied
'but mam the Dirac drive isn't functional yet its still in testing, as for the planetfall ship, do go thinking about using the grand collapse cannon on the swarm.'

2 hours later the two ships requested left they're respective dry docks, they had both been mothballed and had only just been ready in time
both pretty old they're hulls vibrating rust off as they lifted up, breaking the atmosphere with help from solid rocket boosters,nether of the ships where meant for atmospheric flight but they both where mothballed and both where landed, with great difficulty they continued up, side by side two relics slowly exited the gravity well of serenity when they where clear they made they're way towards the safe jump zone

the 2 ships stopped next to the swarm ships,the grand collapse cannons turned to face the swarm ships, the inducer coils turning extremely fast all the cannons fired, the huge energy burst heading for the hive ships.

OOC: grand collapse cannons collapse space where they hit, literally collapsing a small area of space.

OOC: Congratulations on defeating FTLi, and congratulations on being the first person to defeat the swarm. There is literally no way I can defeat that.

IC: As the space collapsed, so did the swarm. The Swarmlings on the planet below froze in shock, and then spontaineously combusted without the majority of The Swarm. As they burned, they turned into a strange mists that quickly dissipated in the air.

Yet it was a question of who truly won. The swarm was destroyed, but The Overmind still got what it wanted, and fled with a portion of The Swarm back to Zerus, a secret location NO ONE knew of.

As for the mists left behind on the death of The Swarm? It was a little known fact that The Swarm was composed not of bacteria chains, but of tightly packed virus clusters. Depending on the swarmling type created, these clusters carried one of four super plagues. Nurgle's Rot was the default, and assigned to type one. This disease was well known. Type three was Tzeentch's change, a variation on Nurgle's Rot, except devoted to Tzeentch. This disease caused rapid uncontrolled mutation. The results were as predictable as The Lord of Change himself. Type 4 was cruel, known as Slaanesh's pleasures, it was devoted to Slaanesh. This variation caused its victims to linger for years on end in unending pain and suffering, each breath and act of agony. But the swarm had begun to generate type 2 Swarmlings. These ones carried Khorne's Wrath. Khorne's Wrath was perhaps the worst variety of all. After a three week incubation period, it often killed its victims in a matter of minutes. There were no symptoms, no warning signs, and no cure. After death, the victims bodies would bloat until they exploded releasing more Khorne's Wrath, which in itself could spread through anything, and survive for almost a year without a host.

However, no one was around when the virus was released, except for the plants and wild animals, all of which could be affected just as easily...

But then, this was X's problem. The planet itself was unharmed, by all appearances, and the hives were being absorbed as nutrients by the ecosystem. It was time for all the guests, to go home...

OOC: Find the virus, save the people if you wish, I don't care. Just remember, there are no cures to the four super-plagues. Nurgle's Rot is the only canon disease, the others I made up.

OOC: i dint say i won, if the swarm had dimensional dampeners then they could have survived, but if you want it that way?...
plus FTLi isn't hard to beat with an infinite power source.

protocol 3 was the third protocol ever written in the NERV navy it signals the end of a planet and hopefully stopping the spread of a pathogen.
as all the NERV drop ships left the atmosphere, the NERV blockade open fired upon the drop ships, for no NERV Personnel would leave X planet alive, the drop ships splintered as the shots hit with precise computer targeting nearly 100,000 NERV people die, the worst fatality in NERV military history

the cleanup station was huge a nearly 1 mile in diameter industrial complex,hovering at 500 feet above the ruined capital city spraying a carpet of fire as it went,it was a atmospheric cleanser a station designed to destroy an atmosphere then build a new one
