New Haven-A large blast rocked the City Centre today around 12:30 PM Local time. The center was packed with tourists and locals alike enjoying the day. Many schools were closed for a Teachers Convention happening elsewhere in the city and many students were there.
The explosion centered from an underground parking garage which was closed off for maintance work that day. Police now suspect the car may have been parked over night. As a result 10 workers were killed.
The death toll is relatively low but rescue workers are expected the death toll to climb above 100.
There is no word yet if this was a foreign terrorist attack or a domesticated attack. No motive has been established and no group has claimed responsibility.
