Foreign Ministry Office of Republic of Movish, Official Statement:
"The president of the Republic of Movish, Hacob Hzoryan, invites all world leaders for a conference in the capital Gora. The purpose of the conference is to open up this rather isolated but emerging republic to the world. At the conference, world leaders will acquaint themselves with Movishian culture, history, and politics. They will meet with the president and discuss strengthening economic, cultural, and political ties."
Independent News Source regarding the conference:
"The conference in the Republic of Movish is a bold step by the Movishian Government in opening up to the world. Following a chaotic past, the current regime headed by Hacob Hzoryan has stabilized the country. However, the government of Movish is viewed as very authoritarian with a very large amount of power held by Hacob Hzoryan. Some even view Hzoryan as a dictator hungry for power. The extreme lack of political freedom and civil liberties may lead some countries to boycott the conference. Hacob Hazoryan has been widely accused of heavy corruption, nepotism, and suppressing many civil liberties of citizens. One can just look at the current government where many officials are either related to the President or are good friends with him. Even though such rights are abused in the republic, the economy has stabilized and is steadily improving. The president is supportive of some capitalism but many companies are under heavy influence of the government. Hzoryan has also been investing a great amount of money into the military and sustaining a minimum 3 year draft for all male citizens."
If you decide to attend the conference, relations between Movish and your country will improve. President Hzoryan won't forget those countries that attend. If you decide to boycott the conference, relations will worsen and will be hard to improve in the future. If you wish to remain neutral simply don't respond.
The conference will take place in 1 week. Additional information may be posted before that.
