Insurgency

Garmidia
23-04-2009, 03:40
After days of a devastating war in both Anacreon and Australiazia and the destruction of the majority of the previous military government of Anacreon, an insurgency begins. After the head of state that was thrown out in a Coup, Prime Minister Kevin Manse, returns to power after Garmidian and Australiazian troops fought a bloody war, the military government forces begin an insurgency in Salisbury Bay, claiming it an independent republic. Garmidian forces are about to leave United Anacreon when news of this separatist movement stops them from leaving.

Operation Red Night Allies meeting, Dastin City, Garmidia

Prime Minister Kevin Manse had arrived early to the meeting. Garmidia and Australiazia had opted for the new government of Anacreon to join ORNA, to fight the insurgents.

Manse stepped off his helicopter which had arrived atop the Garmidia National Building, where the emergency meeting was to take place. President of Garmidia Sam Philips stepped towards the helicopter to greet him.

The press were behind them taking pictures. Philips shook Manse's hand and they both posed for the cameras then continued walking to the staircase.

"They've claimed Salisbury Bay. Calling it an Independent republic." Manse whispered in to Philips ear.
"They've refused diplomacy obviously?" Philips asked back.
"Yeah."
"Australiazia will be arriving shortly." Philips said, changing the subject.

Both leaders stepped into a door, then a lift, and one of the bodyguards pressed 4.

"Im afraid Cape Salisbury needs to be dealt with quickly"
Prime Minister Kevin Manse added. The elevator was gaining upward speed.

Philips thought for a moment then he was interrupted by his bodyguard.
"Australiazia has arrived." He said to both of the leaders.
"Good." Said the President.
"Hmm. Before Garmidia considers military action once again, we'll need to build up a casus beli - a true one - so our people don't wonder why we we're going to leave in the first place."
Garmidia

The two leaders stepped out of the elevator and proceeded to a large room with a somewhat conference sized table and sat down. Australiazia's President Campbell Brown stepped in shortly afterward.

"Yes, I certainly do." (OOC: We should both speak for Australiazia while he's offline.)
Said Campbell Brown.
President Philips requested the door be shut, and his bodyguard closed the door from the press outside.
"After this we've got to go to a press conference on the situation." Philips said. "The current situation in Anacreon obviously calls for military action. But I need to know just how much involvement you request from us, Mr. Manse."
United Anacreon
23-04-2009, 06:13
"Well considering how much damage has been done during the war, I honestly think it won't need as much.

The situation hopefully will resolve itself. I only fear that since half of the UA army is from Salisbury, we may face a greater threat."
Garmidia
23-04-2009, 06:18
"Now obviously I will have to meet with the Garmidian Congress to discuss funding for the Garmidian part of the war, because this will most probably be a broad and lengthy war. Troop numbers wont be in the millions either. Probably around 30 - 40,000 troops."
United Anacreon

"Couldn't you just redeploy forces from Australiazia to Salisbury?"
Garmidia
23-04-2009, 06:29
"They are currently working on the humanitarian crisis there, setting up refugee camps, etc. We will need to discuss entry points for the war and the construction of Garmidian/Australiazian Military base camps for the duration of the war."
United Anacreon
23-04-2009, 06:32
"Indeed, we do need to rebuild our countries. My remaining forces loyal to the government will invade in the morning. Although, I have a bad feeling about this."
Garmidia
23-04-2009, 06:37
"We will not be able to intervene with our armed forces in the morning, however I will see to it that 70 Abrams Tanks are delivered to your armed forces by then. Australiazia has about 1500 men in a safe zone they created, so I'm sure they can help. How many men do you have?"

The Garmidian National Building was a heavily guarded building. Nobody could come in without facing heavy security. Unless they were the security.

Dylan Federico left his post and entered the elevator. He checked his mp5 rifle. Fully loaded.

The elevator was going to the fourth floor.

He exited and turned left to the closed meeting room and saw two guards outside.

"Hey Fed! You owe me a beer!"
The black suited bodyguard exclaimed.

Dylan cracked a dry smile.
He pulled out his mp5.

"WHAT THE FUCK?"

Dylan fired on both of them.

"Fuck! Fuck fuck fuck!" Shouted Philips. Screams were coming from outside. 15 Secret Service smashed into the room. Medics jumped to Manse. The 15 guards grabbed Philips and Brown, escorting them out of the building in a hurry. A detachment of 10 agents were sent after the fleeing terrorist.

Dylan knew only one thing left to do now: Run.

He was a trained parkourist and kept on running. Past walls, fences, anywhere.

He went to meet the Contact, a man in a sharp charcoal suit, Wayfarer eyeglasses, and a neatly trimmed caesar cut.

"Good Job, here is your money, as you requested, all in Anacreon Kroners."

Dylan checked the watermarks on one of the bills... There was none.

The contact shot Dylan in the face, and walked away calmly.
Kevin Manse was pronounced dead in a Garmidian Hospital.

MANSE SHOT DEAD

Earlier this evening, Kevin Manse, the interim Prime Minister of Anacreon was shot dead by a man believed to have infiltrated the Garmidian Secret Service. It appears that three leaders, Sam Philips, Our President, Campbell Brown, Australiazian President, and Kevin Manse, Anacreon Prime Minister were holding a meeting on the insurgency in Anacreon when the phony Secret Service agent entered the room and shot Manse in the chest. Manse was rushed to Dastin Hospital, but was pronounced dead shortly after.

PHILIPS CALLS FOR NATIONS TO SEND TROOPS TO SALISBURY

The President of Garmidia has announced a 200 billion Garmidi war spending package, and has encouraged countries to send their troops to Salisbury. 250,000 Garmidian troops have taken part in an invasion of Salisbury Bay, the stronghold of the supporters and perpetrators of the assassination of Kevin Manse. The President has called this event as a War on Terror, saying involvement wont be over anytime soon.

The contact entered a Rolls Royce phantom and drove towards the Walbright hotel. (OOC: Sorry for making locations up) He drove up to the valet area and a man in a slim black suit opened the door. He exited and gave a $100 tip. As he entered the hotel, his photochromic eyeglasses changed color.

Entering the hotel he walked past the waterfalls and entered the main lobby.

The marble floors of the Hotel were a luxury he commonly seen yet always appreciated.

He entered the elevator to insert a key in a hidden slot. The elevator went down and the doors opened in the basement.

Cape Salisbury

Remnants of the United Anacreon Army were patrolling the streets of Salisbury. They pledged their allegience to the Independent Republic of Cape Salisbury now, and not to the new democratic Anacreonian Regime.

It was nearly midnight in Salisbury, and Salisburian Humvees fully armed drove past the local Government buildings.

It was about time for the Invasion, and Salisburians were ready.

OOC: weekend starts 2morrow! Free time! :)

IC: As the Garmidian and United Anacreon forces were starting up the operation, Australiazia had just completed the building of the refugee camp in the green zone, Alotau. The current 50,000 troops and support vehicles in the region asked for more forces to support the Garmidian and United Anacreon offensive forces as the Australiazian's felt insecure having a small army in a now insurgent dangerous region.

The President of Australiazia Campbell Brown announced another additional 75,000 soldiers to the forces in support of the operation in Cape Salisbury. As the Australiazian troops left for United Anacreon, Australiazia announced its air support for the mission in Cape Salisbury as they currently had insufficient troops to carry out the operation. The support included;
50 x Havoc Attack Helicopters (http://www.army-technology.com/projects/mi28/)
75 x Apaches (http://www.airforce-technology.com/projects/apache/)
Until Australiazian troops arrive in 9 hours time and are able to give ground support.

From: Field Marshall Saladin Garibaldi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Italia Orientale

In response to Garmidia's request for international assistance in United Anacreon, The Democratic Republic of Italia Orientale is prepared to send 100,000 troops in the form of our 3rd Army to United Anacreon under the command of General Kareem Tobruk. General Tobruk is one of our best commanders and has seen combat in several past deployments.

Our troop force will be joined in with your coalition where you see fit. As newcomers to this conflict, General Tobruk has been instructed to follow the battle plans laid out by the commanders of the coalition. However, General Tobruk does maintain command over the 3rd Army and will report back to me. We trust that the commanders of the coalition use our troops in a strategically sound and effective manner. Our men are well-trained and well-disciplined and prepared for combat.

Please inform me of any developments related to our deployment. In the next few days I will send another message detailing our force layout including manpower, vehicles, weaponry, and Spec-Ops units. May God grant us victory against our foes!

Regards,
Field Marshal Garibaldi

The ORNA soldier fired three rounds towards the man, and he was hit in the leg. The man fired another 7 shots towards the soldiers, not hitting anyone.

"Get them out our outpost in Alotau (our green zone) ready to go."
"Roger that, there all yours over."

The Australiazian army split into two groups. Group one would be an offensive group that would go into the city of Harlindia with 70,000 troops and Air support, in an Operation to secure the village. While the other 15,000 Australiazian soldiers would set up a perimeter around the village to create Kill Zones so that the insurgents are forces into the corners of the village with no escape, this is where the air support will become a crucial part of the operation in both offensive and surveillance to ensure no escapes. We are preparing a response to the fleeing of the insurgents to Harlindia. We have a force of 85,000 men, in which we will seal of all exits from the village to clean it out and create a coalition military zone in which we will be in a better and closer position to launch attacks from. We are letting you know our operation Infinite Angel so that there are no confusions or incidents between our nations. We are still offering you around the clock air support and artillery fire if needed. To: General Kareem Tobruk, Commander of the 3rd Army

Currently, Insurgent forces have escaped to the Harlinda region. Currently, Operations Fire Eagle, Infinite Angel and Jungle Storm are underway to largely disable these insurgents. The Left flank of the entire operation is Garmidia's flank to disable, and It would be best if your troops were deployed to take down the center side of the operations. We begin sweeping in with ground forces soon.

Be cautioned: IED's are lined among the main highway leading into Fairfax, the capital of the Harlinda region, Highway 103, and IEDs have been set up along all exits from Milliken Avenue to Garvey Blvd.

Garmidia's Operation name is Operation Fire Eagle, Australiazia's is Operation Infinite Angel and Anacreon's is Operation Jungle Storm.

God speed.

OOC: @ Anacreon: That's fine! I suck at making names without using the boring old names, it really helps!

APC's and LAV's tore down the roads leading to the hill Garmidian forces were stationed on. They had set up artillery all along the hill that would bomb Fairfax. Aircraft were ready to begin bombing.

Operation Fire Eagle was almost ready to begin.

The last of the LAVs and APCs unloaded the troops.

"I think we're ready to begin." Said Commander Bob Goshin.

"Notify ORNA Anacreon Command, ORNA Australiazian Command and ORNA Italia Orientale Command that our Operation Fire Eagle is now underway."

"Yes sir."

Pvt. Paul McJohnson was standing nervously, looking down at Fairfax. It was a deserted city; the lights had been turned off in almost every house and somewhere in there the 70,000 insurgents were hiding.

"Sir, I've alerted the three ORNA Commands. ORNA Garmidia Command obviously already knows, and they say they've dispatched the first jet fighters and bombers. 190 EA-18G Growlers, 25 F/A-18 Super Hornets, 12 F-15E Strike Eagles, 15 F-22 Raptors, 3 B-2 Spirit Stealth bombers, 25 F-15 Eagles and 11 F-16 Fighting Falcons. They should begin bombing in about 3 minutes."

"Good." Said Bob.

Then all hell broke loose.

The first 35 planes flew over Fairfax, dropping bombs. Gun fire broke out from the ground in Fairfax and large explosions and smoke rising filled every soldiers view. The insurgents had no anti-aircraft armaments so air superiority and strategic bombing was important.

Paul wasn't standing nervously anymore. The artillery shells from the hill bombarded Fairfax from the hilltop where the Garmidian soldiers were stationed. Some m777 fire was being returned, but planes could take them out.

Explosions happened throughout the night. Tracer fire hit Garmidian planes and there were 12 downed jets.

"When do we launch the Ground campaign?" Paul asked Bob, who was standing right next to him, watching the mass of explosions.

"Sometime in the next few hours. These bombs are designed to take out cover positions and artillery fire positions. Original reports indicated only two m777's, but it looks like they've got about 4 well placed systems, and no anti-aircraft armaments."

As the clock stuck 2000 hours Australiazian forces marched out of Alotau. The trip to Harlindia was silent from the soldiers are they prepared themselves for battle. Commander Brendan Goddard laid out the plan to the soldiers and organised the soldiers and gave a quick briefing, as the forces arrived just out side Harlindia village the first shots were fired by the insurgents. As the bullets whizzed overhead the Australiazian's divided there forces into the two battle groups, and Infinite Angel was underway. Commander Goddard called in the air support at 2100 hours, as the birds flew in overhead into the village stirring up the dust, as the starting firing missiles into the village of Harlindia.

Within 10 minutes 50 Apache's and Havoc helicopters had fired 500 missiles into the village flattening the land for easy access for the Abrams tanks. As the tanks starting filing into Harlindia the lead tank was it with RPG's, causing chaos amongst the convoy. The convey split up throughout the city and the soldiers staring there advance through the city searching every single house in the village, all 3,500 of them.

General Thomas was the lead man in charge of his squad of 4 men and first to enter, They first to enter the village and starting the thorough search. As Thomas kicked down the first door the first room was clear and as they moved to the next room in the house, in a fatal move. Thomas charged at the door kicking it down in costly move, a trip wire had been planted on the door leading to a grenade which a string had pulled out the pin of the grenade. Within 3 seconds the grenade exploded in a white flash that dazed Thomas as he was hit with shrapnel in the arm and chest, the impact of the blast throwing him back 5ft past his squad members behind him. "Man down! We've got a man down!" Johnson a member of his squad screamed into the radio. Commander Goddard heard the radio transmission, "Get out of the building, we've got an abrams rolling to your position". Johnson through general Thomas over his shoulder as the other two members covered him as they evacuated the house. "Where's a medic!? I need a medic!" he screamed frantically now covered in Thomas' blood. They toke cover across the road from the house and started to put pressure on the wounds. Another squad had heard there message on the radio and made there way there with 2 medics in the squad. "Where's he hit" asked one of the medics. "His chest, he toke a grenade." Thomas' laid there semi conscious not knowing what was going on still dazed from the explosion.

As the battle raged on Commander Goddard called the on the 5th Motorized Infantry Division of Italia Orientale to take part in operation Infinite Angel, for offensive and artillery barrage on the remain houses and to make emergency medivac of Australiazian soldiers back to there forward base in Alotau to give medical support. So far the Australiazian army had cleared 2,754 out for 3,500 houses with an estimated 33,500 dead insurgents and 180 captured. The Australiazian's have so far been left with 4 dead soldiers and 30 wounded in one of the most intensive urban battles. The Australiazian army was rapidly pushing the insurgents into the corner of a village with no escape, although the insurgents had come here for a fight and come to give there lives for their cause, this battle would go down to their last man.

Lt. Luke Tims was in charge of the 15 man squad that Paul was in. The ground offensive was about to begin. Reports of Australiazia taking some villages on the other side of the city were coming in also.

The 15 man squad entered a military bus and started down the road that lead to Fairfax. Thousands of trucks.

Once there, the roughly 110,000 Garmidian troops taking part in the offensive against Harlindia unloaded and were met with resistance.

The 15 man team Paul was in ran down to take cover by a wall. Paul took a look past the wall once taking cover and saw a mass of about 12 Insurgents on the other side, firing their guns.

*Bambambambambam* Paul fired his gun at the insurgents, striking two of them.

*ratatatatatatatatatatat* The insurgents fired sporadic shots at the Marines.

Lt. Tims was just about to aim his gun when a missile from an Apache attack helicopter, under control of the Marine-Air Force, hit them. It tore the insurgents apart and they ran to where the Anacreon Marines and Anacreon Army were taking cover. They had cleared some of the bunkers.

Colonel Galeazzo Polentina looked over his formation at the top of a hill outside the Anacreon city of Harlindia. There were 18 M-109 and 12 Mark VIII Sabre self-propelled howitzers from the 22nd Mobile Artillery Regiment with guns pointed straight at the city. They had been called in, along with the rest of the 5th Mechanized Infantry Division, to assist in clearing the city of insurgents.

Polentina looked down at the target. They were aiming for a large group of high-rise apartments and several blocks around the building where houses were built particularly dense.

The Colonel picked up his radio. “Open Fire,” he ordered. Almost instantly the huge howitzers started blasting at the city. Several shots hit the high rises causing the structures to shake violently with each hit. The surrounding houses weren’t faring much better as shells landed on them as well obliterating some of the smaller structures.

Polentina hoped that it was true that all of the civilians were either already dead or evacuated because there wasn’t going to be much left of the area. Down at the bottom of the hill he saw a group of LY219 APC’s and M65 “Talon” infantry fighting vehicles moving towards the city. Soldiers on foot supported their flanks to ensure the insurgents wouldn’t come out and try to swarm the APC’s. It was the 18th infantry regiment, they had the duty of going in on foot to weed out the insurgents left after the artillery strike.

Suddenly, three RPG’s fired at the18th from a nearby building, followed immediately by machine gun fire. Polentina watched the men dive for cover as one of the M65’s got hit by an RPG. Smoke started to rise from the spot where the vehicle had been hit, but it did not look too serious. The other Talons in the group turned and began firing at the group of buildings the fire had come from. Several of the infantryman went down in the burst of gunfire following the RPG attack. Their comrades got up and began returning fire and advancing on the insurgent positions.

The men of the 18th were killing many insurgents, but there was one large building in the group where the insurgents were well dug-in. The building looked like an old factory or something, but it had very thick walls and was a very well-built structure. It would take an infantry assault under very heavy gunfire to clear the building, but Polentina could use his Mark VIII’s to give support. The Sabres were quite accurate for artillery pieces and as long as you gave them a about a hundred yards of space you were safe.

The Colonel picked up his radio and yelled, “I need 6 Sabres, guns 7 through 12, to target that group of buildings, but HOLD FIRE!” Next he needed to alert the commander of the 18th to keep his men from advancing on the buildings so they wouldn’t get fired upon. He looked at his chart and changed the radio frequency. “Colonel Khaled, come in. Colonel Khaled, come in…”

“This is Khaled,” said a voice on the other side.

“Colonel, this is Colonel Polentina of the 22ns artillery,” shouted Polentina, “keep your men away from that big building, I have six of my guns about to blow them to bits.”

“Copy that, Colonel,” responded Khaled, “let ‘em have it.”
___________________________________________________________________________
Colonel Khaled put down the radio in his LY219 Command Vehicle and instructed his driver to hold position. He picked the radio back up and shouted, “Attention all units! Attention all units! Do Not assault the factory! Repeat, Do Not assault the factory”

Khaled looked up the hill and saw six Mark VIII’s open up on the insurgents. The shells hit the building and smashed right through the bricks and metal. The insurgent fire stopped, drowned out by the thundering of the howitzers up above. The guns stopped and the dust began to clear around the factory. “Thank you Colonel Polentina,” said Khaled into the com.

“Don’t mention it Colonel, it’s the least we can do from our picturesque location,” said the voice on the other end laughing, “good luck soldier.”

Khaled switched frequency and began shouting again. “As soon as our guns stop, I need Lieutenant Daniele and Lieutenant Hamsi to take their platoons through that thick group of houses! They’ve taken a lot of fire but I’m sure there will still be plenty of bogies in there. Hamsi, you take your platton and move them to the theater three blocks to the west, and take the library, it’ll give you a good vantage point to provide cover for the vehicles. Daniele I want you to do the same thing but instead of the library you have to take the police station.”

“Yessir!” they both replied.

Suddenly, one of the high-rises in the distance came crashing down, finally felled by the mass of artillery fire that was hitting it. The rubble filled the clearing where the three buildings stood. Several moments later another one came down, leaving just one more high-rise standing, and it was not in admirable shape either. With the high-rises eliminated, the 18th could move in and clear out house to house without worrying about sniper fire. “Let’s go boys!” shouted the Colonelover the com, “Hamsi and Daniele lead the charge!”
_________________________________________________________________________
Lieutenant Alberto Daniele walked close to the wall of a bombed out building. His platoon was moving in on a group of densely built houses that had just been pounded by their artillery. His platoon was supposed to go through this group of buildings and capture the police station up ahead. All seemed quiet as they approached the station until Daniele saw movement in the second story windows. “Take Cover,” he said, “I see movement ahead, I think they may have spotted us.”

Just then two .50 caliber machine guns opened up on the platoon from the second story window straight ahead. Two of Daniele’s men were torn up by the guns while the others dove for cover by running into a side street. Then, a group of insurgents came charging out of another building just across the narrow street from Daniele’s position. They couldn’t have been more than twenty feet away. The insurgents looked disoriented and started firing wildly and the Italians fired back. Three insurgents dropped but there were about fifteen more charging out of the building. There must have been a bunker inside where they were hiding out during the barrage and they came out after hearing gunfire.

The insurgents charged straight into the soldiers, sparking a wild melee. Daniele hit one insurgent in the head with the butt of his rifle then dropped it and pulled out his knife and pistol. He stabbed one insurgent in the chest and turned to see another one take aim at him. The Lieutenant fired first with his Berretta Pistol and dropped his opponent. All around him chaos reigned but it seemed as if the insurgents were being beaten back. The remaining insurgents began to run down the narrow street and the soldiers picked up their rifles and blasted away dropping all but one who managed to turn the corner before being hit.

The Lieutenant reorganized his squad and counted up the losses. Four of his men had been killed along with 16 insurgents, plus he had one severely wounded man who the medic was tending to. “We need to find an alternate way into the police station,” he said to them, “I need Alpha Squad to lay down fire on their position. Then I’ll take Bravo and Charlie Squads around the side through this alley and look for a side entrance. Once we’re inside the building Alpha Company will disengage and advance down the street on the left towards the square with the high-rises. We’ll meet you there once we get on the other side of that building we need to clear. Let’s go boys we’re almost through.”

Daniele and his squads moved down the side alley as they heard gunfire open up from Alpha Squad. They approached the side of the building and moved towards the door police station door. They kicked in the door and stumbled in on a group of insurgents in a huddle in the center of the room, making some type of plan. They turned and looked stunned at the intruders. They put their hands as the soldiers approached, guns drawn.

Just as they were about to go search the surrendering insurgents, another group came rushing down the stairs. They had their weapons drawn and fired into the room. Four of the surrendered insurgents were hit along with one soldier. Daniele and his men opened up on them and three insurgents were killed. The other two tried going back up the stairs but got mowed down before they made it. The troops went rushing up the stairs to the second floor, where the .50 cals were.

There were about 11 insurgents on the floor and another gunfight erupted. When the smoke cleared the insurgents were dead and the Police Station was in the hands of the 18th Regiment. Daniele got on the com, “Colonel Khaled, we have the post office! I repeat, we have the post office!”

“That’s great son,” crackled the voice of the Colonel, “now hold that position and cover us as we advance into the square.”

“Yessir!” replied Daniele. He took a long drink of water from his canteen. “Good work fellas,” he said to his men, “but don’t get too comfortable, these insurgents aren’t going to go quietly.”

Paul was jogging with the team, when he decided to look over in the far distance. He looked backwards and looked at the hill, that just a few hours ago, they were standing on, overlooking Fairfax. Artillery fire was constant, and somewhere Bob was probably up there.

In a short time of 10 minutes they had reached the nearest cover looking at the apartment. It was a brick fence. Lt. Tims took a peek around the cornered off brick wall.

"There! I see them! Fire!" An Insurgent shouted. Fire erupted from the apartment building and Lt. Tims quickly pulled his head back.
"Shit, we're pinned!"

Paul was able to look through a slim crack in the fence towards the apartment building. There were 14 different bursts of fire coming from all different floors of the building.

OOC: I’ll try to keep it shorter this time…yeah a map of the area would be great. Anacreon, would it be cool if I drew up my own map just for the section of Harlindia where my men are fighting or do you already have a city map that I can follow?

IC: Lieutenant Daniele and his men had just finished clearing yet another building in the dense neighborhoods around the high-rise complex. Corporal Ahmed al Fadl lit up a cigarette and sat down on the floor. “Let me have one,” asked Daniele, “I seem to have lost mine somewhere along the way.”

“Yeah,” replied al Fadl, “this house to house s**t is stressful.”

“I know what you mean,” replied the Lieutenant, “but I think we’ve done most of our job.”

The insurgents had been a tough bunch, ready to fight to the death and the casualty numbers for the Italian troops were higher than they expected. Daniele couldn’t believe how well dug in they were, even after several hours of bombardment they were still crawling all over the city, the fight for this particular section of Harlindia had been going through the night but by now almost all of it was cleared. They had gotten word that the insurgent commander of this area, a certain Colonal Trujillo, had just been killed by Garmidian and Anacreonian troops. The Lieutenant heard gun fire and explosions in the distance. The 2nd Tank Regiment was blasting its way through the city to the east of them, supported by the 86th Motorized Infantry. He could still hear Colonel Polentina’s 22nd Artillery pounding parts of the city.

The voice of Colonel Khaled crackled over the radio, “How’s it Going Daniele?”

“Good sir,” he replied, “all major objectives secured.”

“Excellent work soldier, now I need you to bring your men back to the rendezvous point,” said the Colonel, “we’re moving out of here, we have a whole ‘nother section of the city to clear.”

“Yessir!” replied Daniele. He turned to his men, “come on boys, we have more insurgents to weed out.” The squad walked out of the building and back into the narrow streets guns on the ready for any sign of trouble.

I have three other divisions to deploy and I'm trying to figure out where to send them. sorry i'm having a hard time figuring out the geography i'm new to the conflict. if its easier just ask for my divisions IC,

IC: Transmission from General Kareem Tobruk to Garmidian/Anacreonian Command

We still have the 6th Infantry, the 3rd Armored, and the 3rd Air Cavalry ready for action. They are currently standing by awaiting assignment. We also have the Carrier Group Uluj Ali ready to continue providing air support. Please inform us what city/cities the should target and send units to, thank you.

To General Kareem Tobruk.

It seems as if Insurgent activities have intensified in the eastern suburb of Melrose about 5 km away and the city of Alotau.

It seems as if the largest contigent of Insurgents are in the city of Bastion(RL: Jayapura).

Two columns from Italia Orientale’s military advanced towards the city of Bastion in Anacreon. The 3rd Armored Division approached from the south along the coastal road, with air support from the RSS Uluj Ali Carrier Group. The 6th Infantry moved in from the west over the thickly forested hills to attack the city in the north. The plan called for a pincer attack to strike the insurgents on two opposite sides of the city so that they would have to stretch their lines. According to most reports, there were heavy insurgent concentrations in this city, and it was up to the 3rd Army to flush them out.

Brigadier Hamid al Azzam’s Urbara Tirik Tank rolled along the coastal road towards Bastion, the third tank in a column of fifteen from the 5th Tank Regiment. To their left flank, towards the interior of the island another ten tanks rolled alongside further up a hill. Along with those ten was the 108th Shock Troop Regiment commanded by Colonel Ahmad Bertolli. Behind them was the rest of the division, over 23,000 men in all, including two more tank regiments. But it was Azzam’s tanks that had the honors of punching into the city first.

Brigadier Azzam could see the city of Bastion in the distance. It was on a large bay and stretched around the bay along the coast. The terrain around the city was thickly forested and rugged, making it nearly impossible to move tanks through. As a result, the 6th Infantry got to take the back way in through the hills while Azzam and his boys had to go in through the front door. As the only way to enter the southern portion of the city with vehicles, the coastal road was bound to be well defended. As a precaution an LY219 Minesweeper was leading the way to clear the path for the other tanks. The sweeper had already set off several bombs that would have done significant damage if they hit a vehicle directly.

As the tanks approached the city, RPG firs burst out from the southernmost buildings and hit the Minesweeper, disabling its tracks. Azzam could see a complex series of entrenchment at the entrance to the city so he got on his com and called for an airstrike. Go around the 219 and open fire he barked to the LY6 Werewolf Heavy tank in front of him. The Werewolf made a maneuver around the mine sweeper and turned its gun towards the buildings. The 180mm canon thundered as it fired towards the buildings. The shot was on point and blew a whole right through the front wall of the house it hit. The insurgents continued firing rockets and machine guns from the other buildings including a three story apartment building to the left of the house.

Azzam ordered his crew to move their Urbara Tirik into firing position as well. As they maneuvered around the disabled Minesweeper a rocket smashed into the front of the tanks, rocking the whole vehicles back. “Damage Report!” yelled Azzam.

“She’s a little scuffed, but she’ll be ok!” shouted back the crewman.

“Well then fire Goddammit!” yelled Azzam.

The tank fired at the apartment building just as the Werewolf fired its second shot. Both blasts hit the apartment building blowing out its second floor. The third floor came crashing down as the ones behind it could no longer support it weight, and the gun fire stopped.

In the meantime, the interior column was coming up to the city as well and began returning fir against the insurgents. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, 6 F-17 Arrowhawks zoomed over head, unloading their bombs on the insurgent positions.

“That should shut them up!” yelled Azzam, “Now let’s take this city!”

They had breached the outer defenses, but there would still be a lot more of Bastion to deal with before the day was through.
___________________________________________________________________________________

To the northwest of the 3rd Armored Division, the 6th Infantry was moving through the thick foliage to the west of Bastion. Lieutenant Nunzio “Nunz” Corrado and his 2nd Shook Troop Platoon f the 50th Regiment had the task of running the point for the mission. They were “Shock Troops” because they were trained and equipped specifically for assaults, specifically those in urban combat areas.

The platoon was up in the hills above Bastion and Lieutenant Corrado could see the city down the hill through the foliage. He heard explosions in the distance and assumed that meant that the 3rd Armored had gotten to the southern part of the city. The 2nd Platoon moved stealthily down the hill and approached the first group of buildings.

There was a small grouping of houses followed by a wide road with several large warehouses across it. The men of the 2nd advanced down the street in between the buildings without incident and Lieutenant Corrado ordered one squad each (C Squad & D Squad) into the two buildings facing the warehouses to cover the other two squads that would advance into the warehouses.

Corrado and his squad turned the corner and were preparing to head into the warehouses when all hell broke out. Machine gun fire erupted from the two warehouses in front of them. They were large metal structures with wide windows facing the street. As Corrado took cover he counted at least 4 heavy machine guns in the windows of each of the warehouses facing the street, making 8 in total.

The Italians in the buildings behind Corrado began to open up on the warehouse with their own machine guns riddling the metal walls with bullet holes. As the insurgents took cover form the return fire Corrado and his squad (A Squad) raced across the street towards one of the structures and the other sqad (B Squad) moved towards the other. They got shot at by the machine guns on the way, two of their men fell, but they still managed to reach the door.

The troops kicked it in and were met immediately by insurgent fire from inside. A-Squad threw three grenades into the building and heard the fire die down when they exploded. They burst in through the door and caught the surviving insurgents in a disoriented state and made quick work of them. They advanced up the stair as fire came down on them from the balcony. Another soldier got hit as they returned fire.

Corrado aimed his M.A.C.-56 SMG at the insurgents on the balcony and unleashed a burst of fire. He saw two of them drop as the rest of A-Squad raced up the stairs. They regrouped once Corrado reached the second floor and split into two groups to clear the remaining room. Corrado and three of his men would go up to the third floor while the rest of the squad would clear the remainder of the second floor.

The Lieutenant crept up the stairs and saw two of the heavy machine gunners left along with three other men. Corrado and his men came up the stairs guns blazing instantly dropping one of the gunners and two of the others. The other gunner and his comrade dove behind some crates and returned fire. Lieutenant Corrado hit one of the insurgents when he popped up to fire and the other was felled by Private Dardo.

They crept around the third floor but it looked as if everyone had been taken care of. Corrado pulled up his radio and contacted Corporal Marwah of B-Squad. “Come in Corporal Marwah! Come in Corporal Marwah!”

“Marwah here,” crackled the voice in reply, “we’ve secured this warehouse.”

“Good job,” said Corrado, “now hold position and cover the street in between us, C-Squad and D-Squad are going to advance under our cover.”

It wasn’t as smooth as Corrado had hoped it would be, but the 2nd Platoon had a foothold in Bastion. “Call Lieutenant General Takfiri and let him know we’re in the city,” shouted Corrado, “tell him we are meeting significant resistance and to approach with caution.” From this point on it would be house to house, street to street fighting, just how the men of the 50th liked it.

As the Italia soldiers started there way to Bastion, the Australiazian's were now setting up a defensive as the insurgents were nearing Alotau "the Australiazian Green zone". The current 50,000 stationed troops started putting wire fencing and concrete slabs around the Green zone to make it fortified in case of a breach or engagement. Everyone one was put on high level alert for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary in the area.

Meanwhile back in Harlindia the Australiazian troops had had a successful campaign against the insurgents in the region but were still going through the village clearing all buildings in the Operation zone.

"Tiger-12, I'm going to go ahead and hit it..."

"Whoa, whoa, Dog-6, do you see that? Hundreds of people coming out of it.."

"Roger Tiger-12. They're insurgents. Engaging."

"Roger, same here."

Three missiles fired from each jet, hitting in and around the hundreds of people storming out of the building.

"Firing again, Dog-6."

Two more missiles blew the bunker up and killed any remaining insurgents on the ground.

Battle in Bastion
Italia Orientale Army Making Gains Against Insurgents

Bastion, Anacreon – Soldiers from the 3rd Armored Division and the 6th Infantry were joined in Bastion today by elements of the 3rd Air Cavalry Division. The 12th Air Cav Regiment w dropped in the Northern Suburbs and the 63rd Air Cav was dropped on the Cape of Peace to open up a third front against the insurgents.

The 63rd soon ran into combat as they came across insurgents fleeing from a stronghold on the cape following heavy bombardment from Navy ships and aircraft. The two sides engaged in a brief fire fight in which two soldiers and fifteen insurgents were killed.

In the Northern Suburbs, the 12th Regiment split into two groups, one to cut off evacuating insurgents from the Cape and the other to the west to attack another insurgent stronghold. The Air cav had mixed success in their operation today. They were able to crush insurgent resistance on the Cape of Peace, but they were pushed back trying to attack another stronghold in the Northern Suburbs.

In the center of the city, the 6th Infantry was able to capture the Port of Bastion meeting only light resistance along the way. The push into the port was led by the 103rd Shock Troop Regiment and the 8th Tank Regiment. They were followed in by the 52nd Motorized Rifle Regiment to hold the port. One of Italia Orientale’s main objectives was to capture the port intact so that they could begin resupplying by sea. However, this depended on also being able to capture the insurgent stronghold on Outlaw Bluff which they use as an anti-air and anti-shipping missile base. Despite heavy naval bombardment, the rockets are well protected and can only be effectively disabled by ground troops.

Unfortunately, the 341st was unable to capture the Outlaw Bluff strongholds and was actually forced to pull back. The 341st took heavy casualties in a failed frontal assault against the strongholds. The regiment was ambushed shortly after engaging with insurgents when another insurgent group flanked them from the south. The commander of the 341st, Colonel Yousef Del Corvo, was killed along with 26 of his men when the front portion of the regiment was cut off and surrounded. The rest of the regiment managed to escape, but this battle was the single most deadly engagement of the war so far for Italia Orientale.

In the southern portion of the city, the 3rd Armored Division had no trouble blasting through the Old City Slums meeting moderate resistance. After the defeat of the 341st it may be up to elements of the 3rd Armored to capture the insurgent strongholds on Outlaw Bluff to secure the shipping lanes. Another section of the 3rd drove towards the coast and crushed insurgent positions that also served as AA and anti-shipping missile bases.

The insurgents are being beaten back but they are not going quietly. In total Italia Orientale’s casualty count for the day was 52 dead, 197 wounded, and 6 missing, bringing the total dead up to 83 since the campaign began. There is no data on the exact number of insurgents killed, but since the fighting began it is believed that between 1,500 and 2,000 insurgents have been killed in bombardments and firefights. There were believed to be about 6,000 to 7,000 insurgents in the city to begin with.

The fiercest fighting at the moment is going on in the Old City slums as the 3rd Armored continues to try and blast through the coast as quickly as possible to disable the missile bases and relieve the beleaguered 341st.

Garmidia at War: Battle of Fairfax is turning in to big success says Secretary of Defense, Jack Flaw

Jack Flaw, the Secretary of Defense of Garmidia is saying the ongoing assault on Fairfax is turning out to be a major success for the allied forces. Garmidian assaults have taken place in Fairfax for the last two days and massive air superiority has given Garmidia a huge advantage on the battlefield.

Garmidian forces have captured over half of the city, and are planning other major assaults. They have also contributed troops to help Italia Orientale in their ongoing operation attacking Bastion, and Anacreon and Australiazian forces have put forward major contributions to the Fairfax fight. Jack Flaw says their help was extremely vital to a successful operation. "Australiazia and Anacreon had their own flanks for the operation. They were both extremely well executed."

So far 145 Garmidian marines and soldiers have been killed in action. There is no data on the amount of Insurgents killed, although it is estimated that 3,500 - 5,500 have been killed in Fairfax alone.

Location: Outlaw Bluff, Bastion, Anacreon
Time: 15:26
Situation: Soldiers from the 341st Rifle Regiment have been fighting off an insurgent counter-attack since 10:15 the previous morning.

Lieutenant Colonel Francesco DiMaggio ducked down as another RPG hit the building behind him. He had just been put in charge of the 341st Rifle Regiment in Bastion. About thirty hours earlier the 341st tried to storm an insurgent stronghold on Outlaw Bluff and got torn apart.

DiMaggio was with Colonel Yousef Del Corvo when their platoon was ambushed on the southern flank of the fighting. A large group of insurgents had crept in through the foliage and caught their platoon while it was in a firefight with a different insurgent group. Instead of attacking directly into the platoon, the insurgents swept around and surrounded DiMaggio and the others. They ended fighting for their lives and only 13 of them managed to blast their way out of the encirclement. Colonel Corvo went down in the firefight, shot up in a hail of machine gun fire.

Now, DiMaggio was in charge of the whole regiment and their position was being assaulted once again by the insurgents. The fighting had been almost non-stop since Italia Orientale first attacked the insurgent positions. DiMaggio had set the regiment up along a half kilometer long front prepared for the rebel onslaught. The insurgents knew this was probably their last stand because they would be overwhelmed once the rest of the forces arrived. In the meantime though, they had a large numerical advantage and were bringing an all out assault against the 341st.

DiMaggio was with the 3rd Platoon holding the center of the line when the insurgents attacked. This was the weakest part of the line since the 3rd Platoon was spread out over the furthest distance. The rebels came right at the center of the Italian line and initiated a fierce firefight. DiMaggio and his A-Squad were holding the line at the southern tip of 3rd Platoons area. B-Squad directly north of them got attacked first and pushed back. From that point on all four squads became separated.

“Fall Back!” yelled DiMaggio, “Fall Back!”

The troops burst out of the house they were in and ran south about 120 meters all the while firing back at the insurgents. Two men dropped during the retreat while the rest were running as fast as they could for the next bit of cover. They got to a house at the end of the street just across from 2nd Platoon’s position holding Webster Avenue. They signaled to their comrades that an assault was coming and took up positions.

The insurgents advanced up the street and DiMaggio aimed his Type-147 assault rifle and opened fire. In the floor above Corporal Massi was firing away with the MGF-3 Machine Gun mowing down insurgents as they came up the path. Then, one of the insurgents turned the corner holding rocket launcher and fired at the house. The missile hit the second floor killing Massi and the two men with him. Without the Machine Gun support the insurgents were getting closer and closer. The men from 3rd Platoon were firing at the insurgents as well from across the street.

“Fall Back!” DiMaggio yelled again, “Fall Back Before we’re overrun!”
DiMaggio and the three remaining men in his squad bolted out of the back door of the house. He looked across the street and saw the 3rd Platoon guys going the other way. Shit, he thought, we’re going to get cut off again. They ran another 60 meters and into another building. Now they were in a better defended position.

The 3rd Platoon guys were well entrenched here since holding this road had been their objective. They all began firing at the insurgents as they continued to advance towards their position. DiMaggio popped up from behind his cover and quickly dropped two insurgents. They were actually advancing passed the house now, trying once again to encircle them. They had managed to get up in a building on the other side of the street and were setting up heavy machine guns. They fired down into the house where DiMaggio and his men were staying. The bullets ripped through the walls killing another two of his comrades and forcing the survivors to duck down.

There was only DiMaggio and Private Simone Ali left from 3rd Platoon A-Squad. The situation was getting desperate. The insurgents hadn’t breached any of the buildings where the men of the 341st had holed up in, but they were overrunning the entire area. Lieutenant Commander DiMaggio popped up one more time and fired at the Machine Gunners across the street while they reloaded hoping he could hit them before they started firing again.

Suddenly, the whole second story of the building exploded, sending body parts and debris flying everywhere. DiMaggio heard a thundering roar and a T-90 tank came crashing around the corner firing away with its machine gun. The insurgents tried to hold their ground, but more tanks were coming up behind. The insurgents turned to run and another group of tanks came rolling in from behind DiMaggio’s position, blasting away and cutting off the insurgent retreat. Now, it was the insurgents caught in the crossfire as the men of the 341st got their sweet revenge for the ambushes of the last two days that had killed so many of their comrades. The tanks of the 3rd Armored Division came thundering down the road, the fighting was over.

The men of the 341st cheered loudly as the tanks rumbled through the intersection, glad to finally be relieved after almost 30 straight hours of combat. An Urbara Tirik Tank came to a halt in front of DiMaggio and Private Ali as they exited the house. “How’s it going Colonel,” said Brigadier Hamid al-Azzam , “how;s out timing?”

“A little late,” repied DiMaggio, “we’ve really been catching hell around here, almost all of 3rd Platoon’s been wiped out. My whole damned regiment has been fighting it out since yesterday morning. But damn, I’m definitely happy you guys showed up.”

“Our pleasure,” said Azzam cracking a grin, “we got a group of APC’s coming up a little ways down the column, you guys can hop a ride with them.”
“Yeah, we’ll definitely take you up on that offer.”

“Well fellas,” said the Colonel, “I’ve got to keep it moving, we have more insurgent to catch.”

“Happy hunting!” shouted DiMaggio as the Urbara Tirik thundered away. The battle of Outlaw Bluff was finally over.

To the North of Lt. Col. DiMaggio’s position the rest of the 341st had managed to ambush a group of insurgents advancing along the coastal road and crushed them. Also, the northern-most squad of DiMaggio’s 3rd Platoon had been able to outmaneuver and outfight a far larger insurgent force. They repelled the initial attack and then pursued the insurgents into the forest where they managed to again ambush them and kill the entire group.

Lieutenant Ali bin Said will be recommended for the Medal of Valor for his command of D-Squad. Seven other soldiers from the 341st, including Lieutenant Colonel DiMaggio, are being recommended for medals of valor.

To the southeast, Garmidian forces joined the Battle for Bastion when the 4th Armored Platoon met up with Italia Orientale’s 3rd Division to blast out insurgents in the Old City Slums and in the eastern part of Outlaw Bluff.

In the Northern Suburbs of the city forces from Garmidia’s 7th Infantry Company met up with men from 3rd Air Cavalry Division and attacked the last major insurgent stronghold in the Northern Suburbs. Forces from Italia Orientale’s 6th Infantry aided in the attack from the south. The combined forces were able to overtake the stronghold and actually managed to capture about 32 insurgents, which is surprising since most had been fighting to the death.

The city of Bastion is pretty much secured except for a few isolated pockets of resistance remaining. The this day of combat brought Italia Orientale another 48 dead, 37 at the Battle of Outlaw Bluff alone, to bring the total dead up to 131 for the battle. Insurgent losses are believed to be in thousands as they mounted their last desperate counter-attacks throughout the city.

It is believed that the conflict will be heavier and more brutal now.

ONS Wilhelm Von Seelow, 1st Oseaton Fleet

Adm. Jake Toland stood on the bridge of the CVN 21 class carrier, the ONS Wilhelm Von Seelow. From his position he could also see the Von Seelow's sister ship, the carrier ONS Thomas Winston. All around them more ships were formed up on the carriers. Escort carriers, cruisers, destroyers, frigates, supply ships, and more. Also within the fleet were the RO-RO ships carrying VI Corps tanks, IFVs, Helicopters, and all the munitions and weaponry to sustain the corps for a month. Move convoys were forming up in Oseaton waters and heading for the conflict zone. War was profitable.

Toland was suddenly aware of a presence next to him. Turning slightly he was greeted by the sight of a young man. Only he wasn't dressed in the federal blue of the Oseaton Federal Navy, he was dressed in the midnight black of the Federal Army. Lt. General Johan Grueder was young for a commanding officer, however he had distinguished himself in the Blacktopian Conflict against the communists and the July Coup in Oseato, against his own government.

"Well, Mr. Grueder, enjoying the view?" asked Toland with a smile.

"Quite nice." replied Grueder. "I'll be happier when my corps is on land, and in one piece."

"Come now, Mr. Grueder, surely you have faith in the Federal Navy!" joshed the older Toland, then in a more serious tone. "We'll get them to safety. This fleet is one of the best. 2nd Fleet will be here with the next convoy, God willing. Then we'll truly be unstoppable. I believe the High Command plans to send I Corps along with the convoy."

"We'll need all the help we can get. I don't believe an army of 2 corps, a mere 200,000 men will stand up to the might of so many powers, even if we have a combined 2 fleets." spoke Grueder. "Luckily we'll be working with forces in country. Hopefully we can land out forces unopposed. I don't like thinking about an amphib operation." Grueder visibly shuddered at the thought.

"We'll deal with that if we have to. Between the amphib tanks, the landing craft, and the air mobile divisions, we should be able to force a landing, if need be." replied Toland confidently. A veteran for the same conflicts Grueder was, he understood what to do if the situation became fluid. "Anyway, I've sent a message ahead to the National Front requesting a designated landing zone or port for our arrival. We should be within air range in a matter of days. Beginning offloading with a week."

"Sounds good, hope this works. In the mean time, I've got some planning to do." Grueder walked back down into the heart of the ship. Toland resumed his sight seeing, mentally preparing himself for battle.

A Battle raged in Fairfax. Lt. Tims had been dispatched to fight some remaining pockets of insurgents. The fight was almost over. They were sent to fight one of the last remaining pocket of insurgents in the North West.

"Move it, move it!" Shouted Lt. Tims to his now 11 man squad.

Fairfax Operations during 10th Squads arrival (http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/tt85/SamBttn/BattleofFairfax.png)

Pvt. Paul had survived in the fight in the Old City Slums, but two of his other teammates were killed.

A jet plane flew overhead and destroyed some insurgent targets as Lt. Tims arrived alongside the Australiazian and Anacreon Marines fighting the pocket too.

Lt. Tims approached the Anacreon Lt.
"What's the situation?" He asked.

"We've got about 50-60 Insurgents. We've been fighting for about 4 hours now and have lost about 7 people. They've lost about 12."

Marines were sheltering behind concrete fortifications and occasionally firing their guns.

Lt. Tims ordered his team to assist the Marines.

Intense fighting continued for another 3 hours.

Elements of the 3rd Army in Bastion have begun digging in defensive positions while also finishing sweep of insurgents in the city. News that Oseato entered the war in support of the insurgency has caused a shift of mission for these soldiers. The 6th Infantry and the 3rd Armored Division will be responsible for defending Bastion. The 5th Infantry will remain in Fairfax to support ORNA forces there.

In addition, Field Marshal Saladin Garibaldi announced that the 7th Army would be joining the 3rd in Anacreon to help continue supporting ORNA forces. The 7th Army includes about 100,000 mean and is made up of the 13th & 17th Motorized Infantry Divisions, the 22nd Armored Division, and the elite 2nd Heavy Infantry Division. The 7th Army is under the command of General Omar Leonide, though General Kareem Tobruk will remain commander of the Operation.

The Federation of Oseato is puzzled by your condemnation. Are you not backing the loyalist forces who have assassinated 2 leaders of the National Front? In fact, some sources say that your country may have been directly involved in killing one of the NF leaders.

What is despicable is that you attempt to condemn a nation for supporting a faction that has committed such acts, but then engage in such acts directly. So, do not presume to lecture the Federation on what is moral.

"You hear about their troop additions?" asked Grueder as he paced around the conference room.

"Yes, I read the same intelligence reports you did." replied Toland calmly. "I don't recall you being this nervous in Blacktopia. Why now?"

"I'm not nervous, just frustrated. We're heading into a fight with 3 major powers and a loyalist faction with only another faction to support us. I believe in the Oseaton fighting man, but he can only handle a certain number of odds stacked against him." said Grueder. "I need you to talk to the High Command, you're in overall command here, get them to release the VII and V corps to me."

Toland paused for a moment. "What are you going to do with them?"

"I'm going to activate the 2nd Shock Army and force them to call up the Home Guard units that are seconded to the 2nd. That way I can get enough troops to combat these foreign powers on a more even footing." Grueder smiled as he thought. "Those Home Guard units know what it's like to wage an insurgent war. Some of their new commanders are the rebels that led the insurgency in the Sand Islands during the coup."

"I thought they were all executed when they were captured." said a stunned Toland.

"Executed? What a waste that would have been. No, some of them were given a choice. Death or command of certain Home Guards and special operations." laughed Grueder. "However the public would never support deploying Home Guard units before all the Federal Units have been called up."

"Crafty. I'll see what I can do for you. But in the mean time we need to find a beachhead for our forces, they're saying that the area around Bastion is being overrun by the foreign military units." Toland got up to look at the map as he did. "We could land to the south and drive north to liberate Bastion or we can land directly in the city and fight our way inland."

"I'll go talk to the staff and talk to the landing experts and get back to you. Last time we thought we could pull off a landing directly in Bastion while the insurgents fought back the foreign troops, with help from the fleet here. But if they've lost nearly all of Bastion we'll have to rethink that." With that Grueder walked out of the room and back to his private quarters.

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

To: Federation of Oseato

Yes, the loyalists assassinated two leaders. But those you support assassinated the Interim PM Kevin Manse, during a meeting with Garmidian President Sam Philips and Australiazian President Campbell Brown. Those you support took such careless acts to assassinate the democratically elected Prime Minister who was thrown from power in a violent coup by those you support. We do not condone any action by any faction to assassinate any leader, unless that leader has committed such horrible acts against the civilian population, which Military leader JOHANNES CHAY, the man you supported until HIS assassination, committed. The fact that this man, Kevin Manse, who was a supporter of democracy until his death in a meeting to eliminate those trying to spread what is ultimately harmful to the government, world and people was assassinated by those you support is despicable.

We urge you to cease support for these insurgents and seriously reconsider. ORNA would offer much more than insurgents. Military treaties for the duration of the war or longer, economic policies pledged together and a strong relationship between our growing alliance are just some of the things offered. Your support would mean a lot to us as well as the other ORNA nations. We urge you to reconsider your position.

OOC: I’ll locate the armory just northwest of the seaport, I’ll update the map tomorrow. Oh and wats the deal, is someone rping the insurgents now? If so, respond to this post, I am launching an attack to retake the Bastion Armory Complex.

IC: Lieutenant Nunzio Corrado squinted into his night vision goggles through the foliage at the massive Bastion Armory complex. Italia Orientale had not known about the Armory’s location, thinking it to be just a grouping of large factories, and the structure had survived the bombing campaign in good shape, so insurgent forces re-occupied it. It was located only about half a kilometer northwest of the Port, which Italia Orientale was occupying, and posed a serious threat to their hold on the facility. Now, it was up to Corrado and his men to spearhead the assault on the armory.

The Bastion Armory Complex consisted of 9 interconnected warehouses, grouped around a main administrative building. The complex was surrounded by high concrete walls, but most of them had been taking down during the bombing. Most of the warehouses were still intact. To the northwest of the complex was a grouping of barracks once used to house Anacreon government troops but now occupied by the NF.
The Lieutenant looked down at his watch, it was 0250, and the night was quite dark. In ten minutes the 133rd Artillery Regiment was going to open fire on the Armory complex. Their barrage would be accompanied from cannon fire and cruise missiles from Italia Orientale’s Carrier Group offshore. After the initial bombardment, 6th Infantry could observe the situation and call in airstrikes if they felt the bombings hadn’t achieved their goals.

Corrado got on the com with Lieutenant Mohmar Paladino of the 2nd Platoon, 52nd Rifle Regiment. Paladino and his men were covering Corrado’s left flank and were going to enter the complex through the western end.
“Paladino,” he said, “are you and your men in position?”

“We are,” crackled back Paladino’s voice, “everything is set to go over here.”

“Good,” replied Corrado, “get ready this is gonna get ugly.”

The men stayed quietly in position for the next several minutes as they waited for the bombardment. Then, just as Lieutenant Corrado’s watch struck 0300, loud blasts started to echo through the city. Just moments later, a massive artillery bombardment began to rain down on the Armory Complex.

“Lock and load boys!” shouted Corrado to the men of the 50th, “as soon as this bombardment stops we’re going in!”

10th Squad had destroyed the last remaining significant pocket of insurgents within Fairfax.

It was officially under allied control.

Bombing sweeps were sighted occasionally over Fairfax as numbers of only about 40 - 50 insurgents remained in the city, and all efforts would be turned towards Bastion and surrounding areas soon.

Lt. Tims and his 10th Squad walked the streets, patrolling areas and fighting off any insurgents they may have found. Anacreon and Australiazian Marines did the same.

Slowly but surely humanitarian aid and medical camps were set up in Fairfax, as well as extra defenses, 2100 Anti-aircraft machines and secure facilities for the civilians.

OOC: I'll RP the insurgents for you. If United comes back soon he can take over.

As the silence of night was broken by the bombardment, the insurgents in the compounds (warehouses) hid in the strongest areas they could find as the night was lit up by the explosions of. The insurgence weren't surprised by the attack laying the area with around 200 IED's (improvised explosive devices) early in the week however they still lost 346 in the bombardment, but were still at a strong force of 976 men ready to give their lives. Once the bombardment stopped on the compound the insurgents raced to there cashiers (weapon storage) and went straight for the mortars, Ak's and RPG's to try and stop the advancing army of the Coalition forces. The insurgents were headed by an ex-United Anacreon special forces general Daniel Whelan.
"Everyone get some fire on the advancing parties! Get those mortar shells out as fast as you can." He said grabbing an AK-47 running to the top of a warehouse opening fire.
"Sir, there coming from the west."
"Don't tell me get your arse out there and start freaking shooting!"

With the insurgents il-equipped without night goggles or sophisticated weapons, they set up a perimeter lined with AK-47's, RPG's, mortars and old soviet snipers.
"Sir, Sir, i killed o--. Argh" He said as he toke two bullets to the chest. The Italia Orientale were making slow progress to the compound with the difficulties they faced.

The insurgents fired there Ak's wildly into the night hoping to hit there enemy.

Over Bastion

24 Oseaton F-21's had taken off shortly before midnight and flew on a path toward Bastion. Once there they began doing infrared surveillance of the city below, attempting to make out troop dispositions of all those involved. It seemed calm, only sporadic pockets of gunfire and fighting. At 3:00 however, that all changed. For a moment the sky lit up. Several Oseaton pilots knew what was going on and got on the command net to report.

"This is Talon Lead, We've got a massive artillery bombardment on NF forces, permission to engage?, over." crackled over the radio. The communications room of the ONS Von Seelow was abuzz, one was sent to wake up Admiral Toland and another sent to get General Grueder. Toland was the first up moment later.

ONS Wilhelm Von Seelow, 1st Oseaton Fleet
"What's the exact situation?!" Toland nearly yelled.

"Our boys are witnessing a massive artillery bombardment on NF forces located in the Bastion Armory. They've requested permission to attack." replied the intelligence officer.

"What are their load outs?" asked Toland "Weren't these boys on a recon mission?"

"Well, they were but we sent out 2 squadrons to do it. Only 4 of the planes have the camera attachments, the rest are outfitted for multi-role missions. JDAMS and Sidewinders for the rest." replied the CAG of the Von Seelow "Not to mention their cannons."

"Alright authorize it. Try and take out as many artillery pieces as possible. Then launch the rest of our F-21's as well as 40 F-35's from two of the escort carriers. Make sure they have Prowler support. Have them target enemy troop formations as well as surviving artillery units."

With that, the Oseaton fleet broke out in activity as planes began to launch and form up into their squadron formations.

Over Bastion
"Talon Lead, this is Fencer Place, you are cleared to engage." the radio came to life again.

"Rodger that, Talon Lead out" replied the leader of the F-21 flight. "Alright boys, lock and load."

The planes fanned out and began to spot individual artillery units, all with the help of the low light cameras on the 4 surveillance F-21's. The attackers quickly plotted the coordinates of the artillery units targeted and then began to drop their bombs.

Most of the bombs guided perfectly, a few however flew wild and hit urban areas where there were no troops. Several pilots said prayers for the civilians they knew must be down there.

After the bombs detonated several F-21's flew in low and let loose with their cannons, attempting to tear up what wasn't destroyed by their bombing. Others flew near the armory and let loose on the troops attempting to get in over the rubble that was the destroyed armory walls. Hopefully they'd be able to stall the attack long enough for Oseaton Airborne troops to load up and fly in to support the National Front forces.

ONS Wilhelm Von Seelow, 1st Oseaton Fleet
Grueder finally made it to the CIC of the Von Seelow as the reports of the strikes by the F-21's came in. He was immediately greeted by a cup of coffee from an aide and by Toland who had to ask him a few questions.

"Are your airborne boys able to go if I dedicate some of the Fleet's helicopters to you?" asked Toland.

"Sure, I've had them in combat gear when you sent out the recon flight. However, since most of the air assets are still in storage, we're only going to be able to lift in 500 troopers at a time." Grueder paused for a moment. "How long until we are within landing range?"

"Less than a day now. I'll alert the Seahawks and Sea Knights to get ready to go, I'll also give them some Sea Cobras to provide some mobile support." replied Toland.

The orders went out and the fleet was launched into another frenzy of activity.

The cannons of the 133rd Artillery Regiment were unleashing their fury on the Bastion Armory and the insurgents down below the hill. Colonel Sharif bin Hamil was looking down at the Armory when two massive explosions went off about 30 meters to his left.

He looked over and saw to 155mm Howitzers go up in flames, and more explosions started bursting around him. “Air Strike!” shouted the Colonel jumping in a ditch, “Take Cover!” He picked up his radio and ordered the He signaled Private Cerchioni, the radio man, to run to his position.

“What the Hell is Going on Sir!?” Cerchioni shouted over the explosions, as two Self-Propelled Guns were taken out by the strike.

“Shut up and put me on the com with the [b]Uluj Ali[/i]!” barked the Colonel. Cerchioni adjusted the frequency and got the Carrier offshore on the line as another Mark VIII Sabre went up in flames behind him.

“This is the Uluj Ali come in…” crackled the voice.

“WHERE IS MY GADDAMMED AIR COVER!?” shouted Hamil, “WE’RE GETTING BOMBED TO HELL YOU INCOMPETENT FOOLS! WHAT THE HELL DO WE HAVE YOU OUT THERE FOR!?”

“Yes, we’ll scramble fighters as soon as possible!” replied the Uluj Ali.

“Hurry up!” shouted Hamil back at them.

Just then missiles burst out from the tree line behind them. The 222nd Air Defense Regiment was returning fire with their LY300 Manticores and LY7 King Shepherd AA Vehicles. Explosions were going off everywhere, on the ground, in the sky, and out at sea from the naval bombardment.

“Pull back to the tree line!” Hamil barked over the com to his Regiment, “the 6th Infantry is beginning their assault anyway, pull back gefore we’re wiped out!”
___________________________________________________________________________

At the foot of the hill Lieutenant Corrado looked up into the sky as his men approached the insurgent positions. He could make out the silhouettes of aircraft engaging positions up on the hill above. The Artillery must be catching hell he thought. Well, at least his men were safe from air attack, they were too close to insurgent positions now to get hit by aircraft unless they were willing to bomb their own positions.

“Move in! Move in!” shouted Corrado, “prepare for hand to hand combat!”

A loud cheer erupted from amongst his men, they loved to get in close combat situations, it was where they could really put their training to work. It was only 12 meters from the tree line to the first warehouses, and the men from the 50th came bursting out from the tree line as the insurgents fired wildly towards them. Corrado’s 2nd Platoon, along with the rest of the 50th Shock Regiment was rushing towards the warehouses while the 52nd Rifle Regiment laid down heavy cover fire, giving the Shock Troops a chance to make it to the buildings without getting torn up.

Corrado’s 2nd Platoon and the 1st Platoon were in charge of taking the northernmost of the two warhouses while the 3rd and 4th Platoons took the other. “Breach! Breach!” yelled Corrado. The men of the 50th set up around the main door to the warehouse and planted some C-4. They blasted the door open and threw grenades inside. Once the grenades went off, Corrado shouted, “Into the Breach! Into the Breach!”

On board the RSS Uluj Ali Figher pilots scrambled to their planes. Within a few minutes, 24 F-17 Arrowhawks and 16 YA-42 Corsairs took off headed toward Bastion. Aircraft from Osseato had engaged Italia Oreintale’s ground forces, it was time for the “fly boys” to finally get their action. The insurgency didn’t have any real air forace, and saw the fighter pilots’ missions consisted solely of CAPs and bombing runs. Now, they would actually get to engage some enemy planes.

"Sir, we've got enemy aircraft incoming!" cried the radar officer.

Grueder and Toland both looked up from the map the instant the radar officer spoke. "How many?" asked Toland calmly.

"Not sure exactly, sir. Estimated around a full carrier compliment." replied the Radar officer.

"We're getting reports that the recon flight has come under SAM fire, sir. 2 F-21's lost, 3 damaged but able to return." spoke the Comms officer.

"Recall the strike flights, inform the Winston and have them launch their F-21's for anti-air ops. Alert the other two escort carriers and have them launch their F-35's to assist the F-21's." commanded Toland. "Also, arm the A-6's for anti-naval operations, have them follow the fighter sweep. Aim for the carrier."

"I guess that scrubs the reinforcements for the NF for the time being." said Grueder.

"I agree, too dangerous. We'll send them in as soon as that blasted carrier is nothing but a flaming wreck." replied Toland.

Outside the carriers were in a frenzy of activity, the recon flight and the strike flights were mere minutes out, as the rest of the remaining planes were readied for their new orders and launched. In all 48 F-21's were lofted airborne as well as 40 F-35's and 36 A-6's.

Several EA-6B Prowlers provided jamming and coverage for the outgoing flights. The Italia Oreintale planes would have no idea what was going on behind the jamming. All the while the F-21's and F-35's would be preparing their AIM-54 Phoenix missiles so they could fire at maximum range. They would fire from well over the horizon, and would evade detection thanks to the range, their stealthy design, and the jamming. Hopefully the only warning the enemy planes would have was when their comrades were being blown from the sky. Once they were gone, the A-6's would fire their Harpoon missiles and focus on the carrier. Hopefully it would cripple their carrier and allow for the Oseaton ground forces to land.

"This is Rapier lead, weapons hot, Fox-3!" crackled over the radio. Each F-21 and F-35 fired 2 AIM-54's each before going supersonic and closing in on the enemy.

They relayed the information back to the Uluj Ali and now the carrier was getting word out to their planes.

“They’ve already engaged the enemy sir!” reported one of the crewmen.

“Keep me updated,” said the Vice Admiral, “I wanna hear it blow by blow.” He turned to Captain Zara, his second in command. “I’m worried they may try an attack directly against our carrier group,” said Bossi.

“What should we do?” asked Zara.

“Make sure all ships are on full alert and at battle stations,” ordered Bossi, “and make sure our missile and torpedo boats are ready as well.”Bossi wasn’t sure he wanted to go and engage their navy directly for the time being.

“Sir!” shouted the crewman monitoring the dog fight, “they’ve downed two of our Arrowhawks, but I think we may have dropped one of them as well!”
______________________________________________________________________

The Combat Attack Wing from the Uluj Ali had gotten surprised by a large group of Osseatan fighters. They had immediately dropped two F-17’s, but the Italian forces managed to collect themselves a form a better combat formation. Now the two sides were locked in an intense dogfight, with about seventy planes involved in total.

Wing Commander Cesare Malatesta threw his YA-42 Corsair into a dive as he avoided a missile. He saw an F-21 zoom past in front of him in pursuit of an Arrowhawk. Malatesta pulled up behind the bogey, targeted, and fired off two missiles.

On the ground beneath the air battle, Italia Orientale’s troops were storming the Bastion Armory. Lieutenant Corrado and his Shock troops had cleared the first set of buildings around the armory. It had been a tough fight, but without any light or nightvision goggles, this battle was not very even. In the dark, Italia Orientale’s troops were able to pick out their enemies while remaining in the cover of darkness.

Now Corrado and his Platoon was about to go into the main administrative building. His men were entering from four different locations around the building. “Breach!” shouted Corrado.

Immediately, his men knocked the door down, threw grenades, and rushed in when the smoke cleared guns blazing.

Transmission --- Time: 0421 --- To: ORNA Central Command --- From: Vice Admiral Bossi, RSS Uluj Ali

We request assistance from the navies of our ORNA allies to assist us in fighting the Osseatan fleet off the coast of Bastion. They outnumber us two carrier groups to one. We should be able to hold them off for some time, but we will need to be supported if we are going to hold the waters off of Bastion for the remainder of this conflict. We need air support most importantly, as I am quite confident we can hold them off ship to ship. Thank you, and may God lead us to Victory!

At Australiazia's 2nd newest forward base in Harlindia, recently claimed from insurgents. The Australiazian's started to bring in trucks with fresh drinking water for the villagers in the area. 50 M1091 Water Tankers and 15 M1081 Standard Cargo Trucks filled with rice, fruit bars and other staple foods drove the dangerous 180km trip from Alotau escorted by 10 AH-64D Apache, 30 Bushmaster 4x4 armoured vehicles and 25 M3A3 Bradley's. The mission was a success in which there were no attacks on the convoy. They reached forward base Harlindia at 1430, and straight away they started filling 100's of bottles and water and making food packages, as the Australiazian bombardment in the province destroyed crops and polluted the local rivers with shrapnel among other things. Villages were now happy in the area as the violence of the insurgents had forced people to stay in doors or be subject to penalties the insurgents enforced.

Just as the people of Harlindia province were starting to enjoy their new freedoms, an Australiazian Bushmaster was hit by an RPG, followed by a few rounds of rifle fire from the surround Bardeen mountains. The Australiazian's straight away told everyone to run indoors as 5 AH-64D Apache's toke of from the base and headed to Bardeen mountains which was a well known hot spot for insurgents around the province, 20 Bushmaster 4x4 armoured vehicles also headed to the mountains to seek out the cowardly insurgents who run and hide. Commander Leigh Johnson controls the base in Harlindia and has had Intel from a villager that there is an offensive army gathering in the Lea mountains.

"Okay, i want everyone to be careful out here this is a hot spot that we frequently are engaging and have lost men to. When we get to the area the RPG and rifle fire was fired from, we will be conducting a 5km sweep of the area."
"Yes Sir. How big our squads going to be?"
each car has 12 men so 6 of each car will conduct a sweep in a circle we toke fire from."
"Yes Sir."

As the cars arrived the Apache's watching over the operation opened fire 500 metres from where they were. Straight away 3 squads were sent in the direction as the others fanned out to cover the 5km radius (code named havoc), while the 20 cars (with 120 men) patrolled the 2km stretch of road (code name eagle) from the village to the top of the mountain. One of the cars hit an IED spreading panic through the other car drivers and passengers, as the others got out to see if the lead car had survivors the 3rd car in the convoy was hit by 2 RPG's. Leader of the convoy Lieutenant Williams radioed the Apache's for help to get supporting fire, as they were not sure which side of the road they were hit from.

"This is Lieutenant Williams, Sparrowhawk can you provide us with some fire support and mark out our X's (enemy), Over?" The only thing that was heard on the radio was the crackling and white noise as the communications radio had obviously been damaged by the explosions.
"Boys i want a perimeter set up a defensive formation."
"Sir, where is our support?"
"Comms are down were on our own for the time being. Put some smoke down maybe that will help!"

As they set up the perimeter the area went silent, 3 soldiers were grabbing their mates from the lead car in which 2 had died and the other 4 seriously injured.

Radio static ---- "This is Sparrowhawk what's the situation down there Lieutenant, over?"
"we've been ambushed, an IED killed two of the lead guys and we've got 4 seriously injured and our 3rd car was hit by RPG's but no one was in it ,over."
"I'll call in a medic Chinook but that we be at least 20 mins away, over."
"Doesn't matter get me one down here ASAP!"
"Roger that. You've got some movement in the trees near your area to your west, i'll give you some fire power, over."

As the Apache starting laying down Hellfire missiles in the area, an eruption of fire came from the west (left side of the road, if u care) Gunners on the Bushmasters opened fire back on the enemy position, as the others toke cover behind the cars and bush line on the other side of the road.

The squads doing the searches at the top of the mountain heard the explosions and gunfire, as they started rushing back to the roads.

"This is eagle this is havoc leader Capt. Bradley can you hear me, over?"
"Yeah, where pinned down half way down the road taking fire from the west, we've taken casualties, you reckon you can get round the back of them where stuck here and the Apache's have returned to base because their out of missiles and i don't think there coming back, over."
"We'll do our best mate, see you soon."

"Okay boys Eagle is pinned down taking heavy enemy fire from the west, where ganna go in and hopefully taken them by surprise."

As Havoc squad headed down the steep mountain, coming up on the insurgents from the North-west, Eagle squad was eagerly awaiting the Chinook. however the firefight was to intense for it to land in the area so it was forced to land at base leaving eagle squad to make a big decision, retreat the squad back to base and leave the damaged cars there also abandoning Havoc squad now advancing on the insurgents or just take the wounded and dead back to base. Lieutenant Williams decided to leave 3/4's of the squad there to fight while the others were taken to evac.

"Guys, get those wounded and casualties into the last 2 convoys and take them back to base the Chinook is waiting, we'll give you covering fire! GO GO!"

The man were put for the first time taken out of the destroyed vehicle and into the back of the Bushmasters, which proved a difficult task as the soldiers wounds became visible to those around them. One of the had both his legs hanging by only the muscles holding it together, screaming his way to the car. While another had half his body missing as the power from the IED shredded his body, surprisingly he still clang to life but time was of the essence as he was losing blood and was semi-conscious and concussed from the blast. As soon as the cars were loaded and left the soldiers stopped their covering fire as they started to run low on bullets. The insurgents to this time to take out another 5 Bushmasters with RPG's and AK's firing rounds through the vehicles. Eagle squad was now desperately hoped on Havoc squad arriving to relieve them and take out the now overpowering insurgents suppressed them from moving from their positions, it was now a matter of time for Eagle squad. The battle had now been going for 2 and a half hours.

OOC: I'll finish this off tomorrow, I need to reply to the bastion siege as the insurgents, then bed.

As the artillery on the warehouses in Bastion stopped, General Daniel Whelan was so surprised by the Oseato forces arriving to support them as it was the first time they had helped them in combat. However the surprises kept on coming as the Italia Orientale forces started entering the warehouses. All the General could hear was "BREACH!" --- BOOM

"Men get some people down there to hold the Italia Orientale forces from taking the other 4 remaining warehouses, and get some dam booby traps on a few doors to delay them there advancing to quick for use to get an advantage on them". The insurgents force of 976 had fallen to 647 from artillery and now the new threats of CQC in the warehouses. Some insurgents prepared to suicide themselves to help the cause hiding throughout the warehouses waiting for their time to come. As the Orientale forces breached on door, a suicide bomber ran from around the corner before the dust could settle he threw himself towards to coalition forces. As soon as the second explosion went 80 insurgents entered the room with guns blazing firing into the smokey haze left by the explosions.

(OOC: sorry it's not fantastic im tired, but it needs to be done for the RP to advance, hopefully UA comes on to take over :))

As the Platoon burst through the door, an insurgent came running towards the troops. He detonated himself, causing a huge explosion in the doorway and killing nine soldiers. "Holy shit!" yelled Lieutenant Ahmad Tuareg, leader of the 3rd Platoon, 50th Regiment, "they're savages! Kill them all!"

Eighty insurgents filled the large, dark warehouse, as the men from the 50th fired at them. The night vision gave Tuareg and his men a huge advantage. The 3rd Platoon pulled out their knives and pistols and prepared for a brutal close quarters melee. They ran fearlessly into the group of insurgents stabbing and slashing their way through.
_________________________________________________________________

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Corrado was in the main administration building with his 2nd Platoon and the 1st Platoon. They were fighting their way through room to room, hallway to hallway. They were making good progress but casualties were high. These insurgents were fearless, running straight towards them in the tight confines of the building. Corrado and his men had had to use their knives and pistols more than their rifles.

Two insurgents popped out of a room about ten meters down the hallway firing towards them. Corrado lifted his SMG and fired up the hallway along with four other soldiers. They hit the insuurgents multiple ties, wathcing them crumple to the ground. "Dammit man," said Corrado, "these goddammed insurgents don't take a hint." Several of his men chuckled, "stay sharp boys, we still got a while to go."

The platoons got moving up the hallway slowly watching for insurgents popping out.

In response to the escalating operations in United Anacreon, President Zackary Hamilton has called for a live TV broadcast, we go live:

*Feed cuts over to footage of the Presidential Office in the Federal Estate*

"My dear fellow Oseatons, it is my duty to announce that due to egregious actions of the ORNA in their attempt to eliminate what The Federation recognizes as a rightful government of United Anacreon, I am forced to commit The 2nd and 5th Oseaton fleets to the theatre, as well as activate the 2nd Shock Army in order to repulse their unjust attacks.

Effectively immediately V Corps and VII Corps are to begin to deployment to the region, this includes the 3rd Home Guard Division. I am leaving Adm. Jake Toland in overall command and promoting Major General Grueder to the rank of Lieutenant General and placing him in command of all Oseaton ground forces.

I realize the strain this will put on the families of these brave Oseaton soldiers, but please realize we cannot allow this tyranny to go unchecked. Thank you for your support in this matter. Goodnight, and God Bless Oseato."

*feed goes back to the studio and the news anchor*

It appears that this conflict will be the largest in Oseaton history. Never before have so many troops, sailors, and airmen been called up. For more analysis on what is going on, here with us is retired army colonel.....

This is the last chance for any ORNA forces to stand down. If they do not, the Federation of Oseato will prosecute all active forces in the theatre with extreme prejudice.

While we understand the claims leveled against the NF, the Federation cannot ignore the gross violation of sovereignty that occurred when ORNA forces entered United Anacreon and interfered with internal politics. While claiming that the military government would not accept democratic elections, the ORNA forces gave the Chay government no time to restore order in the country in order to allow for the democratic elections to take place. They drastically overreacted and have caused the deaths of millions. The Federation of Oseato will not sit idly by while this gross injustice is perpetrated.

Once again, this is your last chance to cease military operations in United Anacreon. If any government wishes to withdraw, your soldiers will not be harmed, and you will be allowed to leave with all equipment. However, if you choose to stay the course, the Federation of Oseato cannot be held responsible for any actions that may be committed.

Italia Orientale

In response to President Zackary Hamilton’s statement, Prime Minister Francesco Cesare called his own news conference to respond. The assembled media included every major network and newspaper from Italia Orientale as well as other news outlets from around the world.

Good evening my fellow citizens of Italia Orientale. Earlier today, President Zackary Hamilton of Osseato accused Italia Orientale and our allies of Garmidia, Australiazia, and Anacreon of being agents of tyranny. I would like to say to my colleague from Osseato that I agree with him that tyranny cannot go unchecked. That is precisely the reason that Italia Orientale entered this conflict, to free the people of Anacreon from the oppression of a military dictatorship and to install a government chosen by the citizenry.

The Prophet, may peace be upon him, once said, “How many prophets fought in Allah's Cause? With them fought myriads of godly men who were slain. They never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah's Cause, nor did they weaken nor give in. Allah loves those who are firm and steadfast warriors.” Since it has been proven that the cause of Allah, may He be praised, is the liberation of men from subordination and submission to other men, then it can be said that our alliance is fighting for the cause of Allah, may he be praised. Therefore, we must remain steadfast and resilient in our mission and see it through to the end. We will not rest until we have assured liberty to the people of Anacreon.

The nation of Osseato is supporting a faction, the National Front, that actively fought against the freedom of the people of Anacreon by assassinating Kevin Manse, the man who swore to bring democracy and peace to his country. Thus, as the Prophet said, may peace be upon him, “Verily your deeds will be brought back to you, as if you yourself were the creator of your own punishment.”

It was the military of Osseato that first attacked and killed our men in the city of Bastion. They drew our blood first, but be assured that we will draw their blood as well. Our soldiers had not threatened or attacked any Osseaton personnel and thus we see this attack as unprovoked and unjustifiable. The justice brought by the ORNA against the forces of Osseato will be brutal.

The 3rd Army of Italia Orientale is already deployed and fighting in Anacreon, and the 7th Army is soon going to join them. I am also authorizing the mobilization of the 1st and 8th Armies, as well as two Carrier Groups headed by the RSS Scipio Africanus and the RSS Garibaldi . Combined, the 3rd, 7th, 1st, and 8th Armies will form the Unified 1st Army Group for Anacreon. We are commencing Operation: Righteous Shield, to fortify and maintain the defenses of Anacreon in the face of the remaining insurgencies and the attacks from Osseato. The Unified 1st Army Group will be under the command of High General Mustafa al-Quds.

The Osseaton government has forced our hand and now we will respond in kind. May God lead us to victory in our quest for Justice. Thank you, and may God Bless Italia Orientale, the nations of the ORNA, and the people of Anacreon.

Skies over Bastion

The Oseaton aircraft fly very well, most had experience from fighting Volzgrad's aircraft in the skies over Blacktopia. They all knew how to dogfight effectively, though the AIM-54's usually took care of a large chunk of the enemy before they could engage.

In this engagement the Italia Orientale aircraft quickly attempted to engage the Oseaton fighters in a dogfight. However, thanks to the numerical superiority of the Oseaton aircraft, the F-21's and F-35's were able to gang up on several of the exposed enemy aircraft. They didn't do it without losses, but they were giving a lot better than they were getting. Sidewinders flew out with reckless abandon, several F-21's switched to guns to shoot down the Italia Orientale aircraft.

While the Oseaton fighters engaged the enemy, the 36 A-6's began to launch their Harpoon Anti-Ship missiles on the RSS Uluj Ali. They rippled off their missiles, making sure to make their primary target was the carrier. 2 missiles, 4 missiles, 16 missiles, 72 missiles in total launched off their rails and guided toward the carrier.

As the A-6's fired and began their flight back to the carriers, the fighter screen began to disengage and return to the carrier as well. However, that wasn't the end of the battle. The original fighters had rearmed and flew in to support the retreating fighter screen. Another 80 F-35's and F-21's flew in to join the battle.

While this was all going on, General Grueder had decided to make a night attack of his own. Several hundred landing craft had launched from their ships, filled with Stryker Mobile Gun Systems, along with several hundred EFV's and AAVP7A1's filled with troops. Along with them were the Sea Cobra attack helicopters and Sea King troop transports loaded with Airborne troops. They would be assaulting the undefended resort area and force a beach head for further Oseaton forces to land. More A-6's took off with JDAMs to support the landings as the Iowa Class Battleship the ONS Georg Bremer, steamed with several DDX class destroyers to provide Naval gunfire for the landings. The 3rd and 4th Expeditionary Brigades were headed into battle with 7th and 8th Airborne Divisions, the better part of 48,400 combat troops were on their way.

We did not 'interfere'. Kevin Manse asked for international help, and we were willing to help. The Chay government used up their last chance when they attacked Australiazia. We gave them one more chance, but they blew it.

While we understand Oseato's point of view, we wish to have some sort of talks to sort out any issues between our nations and understand our point of view. Before Open hostilities begin between our nations.

Do you accept?

The fleet of the new 4,000 Jet fighters flew over the skies of Garmidia and to United Anacreon.

"All units of Air Force Wing 3, hold off your attack on Oseato forces for the time being. We are holding for some sort of diplomatic response."

"Dammit!" Shouted Lt. Col. Steve Reams. He looked out and saw the rest of his Wing flying high above the sky.

They were a wide array of F/A-18 Hornets and F-22s and many other fighters and bombers.

They now had to circle friendly area before being given an order to attack any targets for a second time.

14 F-17’s and 16 Mig-35’s took off from the Uluj Ali when the A-6’s approached. By the time they fired their missiles they were already up in the air and in pursuit. The A-6’s were getting shot at by AA fire from the ships below, especially the Christina Class Missile Boats and the Destroyers. Anti-Missile defenses kicked in and were able to shoot down some of the missiles before they hit the carrier. Nevertheless, the Uluj Ali was hit by eight missiles ripping through the mid-level decks and causing damage on the platform as well. Several other ships were hit by missiles as well, including a Rooster Class Frigate which was severely damaged and was beginning to take in water.

Vice Admiral Tommaso Bossi was thrown to the ground as the carrier lurched from the impact. “Order our planes over Bastion to pull out and regroup with the other!” yelled Bossi as he got back up. He looked over at the computer screen to see what was going on. They had lost seven planes over bastion, 5 F-17’s and 2 YA-42’s. They had managed to shoot down 4 Oseaton fighters. “Order the Christina’s, the PB-108’s, and the subs to begin an attack formation against their Carrier Group!” barked the Vice Admiral.
__________________________________________________________________________

As the dogfight continued above Bastion and on the seas, the men of the 3rd Army were cleaning up more of the insurgents. Elements of the 3rd Armored Division arrived at the Armory to give Italia Orientale the outright edge in firepower.

Lieutenant Corrado heard his radio crackle, “how’s it going Lieutenant?”

Corrado recognized the voice as that of Brigadier Hamid al-Azzam. “It’s been rough but we’re getting through it,” responded the Lieutenant, “what can I do for you Brigadier?”

“It’s what we can do for you that you should be worried about,” said al-Azzam laughing, “you’ve got tank support now my friend.”

“Sounds good to me,” said Corrado, “well let’s finish our job here.”

The men of the 50th Regiment picked up their rifles again and prepared to breach the last warehouse.
______________________________________________________________________________

16 Christina Missile Boats and 52 PB-108 torpedo boats zoomed towards the Oseaton Carrier Groups. Their superior speed would give them a significant edge against the larger, heavier ships that made up the large chunk of the Oseaton first fleet. Despite being outnumbered, the Oseaton fleet only had 2 Corvettes and 8 Destroyers that were even capable of engaging the small boats effectively at close range. Their missile and rocket armaments made them lethal to larger ships that they managed to hit. Casualties were sure to be high, but the men of the fast boats knew they would be taking some big ships down with them.

The fighters from the Uluj Ali that were following the A-6’s would provide them with the cover they needed. The Christina’s had stealth coating making it difficult to pick them up and the PB-108’s were so small they were also tough to detect. The air battle screamed by overhead as the fast ships made their final approach towards the Winston Carrier Group. The F-17’s and the Mig’s were in hot pursuit of the A-6’s when they got engaged by another squad of Oseaton fighters.

The Christina’s locked in their long range missiles as the PB’s raced in ahead of them. The Christina’s unleashed their first salvo of missiles towards the Winston and surrounding ships.

Reinforcements arrive in Bastion

The RSS Garibaldi and the RSS Scipio Africanus Carrier Groups Arrive to Support 3rd Army

Bastion, Anacreon – The RSS Garibaldi and the RSS Scipio Africanus arrived off the coast of Bastion today as part of Italia Orientale’s escalation of the war in Anacreon in response to Oseato’s entrance in the war. The 1st and 8th Armies unloaded from their ships in the Port of Bastion as the RSS Uluj Ali, already in the region, was involved in a fierce fight with Oseaton forces to the north.

Troops from Oseato made landfall on the Cape of Peace near the Northern Suburbs. The 3rd Air Cavalry Division, elements of the 6th Infantry Division, and Garmidian forces are in the area and heavily dug in all through the Northern Suburbs prepared to fight any incursions into the city by Oseaton forces. To the south, the 3rd Armored Division continued to clear out insurgent strongholds in the Old City Slums. Forces from Italia Orientale are also close to recapturing the Armory close to the Port.

The defenses of Bastion will be bolstered further by the arrival of the 1st and the 8th Armies. The 7th Army, also sent to Anacreon is elsewhere preparing to aid ORNA forces. It is likely that ORNA forces in Bastion will prepare a counter-attack against Oseato once the reinforcements are in position to do so.

IC: As the battle continued to rage in Bastion, the 3 squadrons of Panavia Tornado fighters began to come into radar contact, flying at low altitude which the planes excel at. Although the Garmidian ORNA forces had taken a diplomatic approach of wanting to hold talks with Oseato, Australiazian squad commander Danny Jacobs could not ignore the conflict as Italia Orientale forces were under seige and requiring urgent help.

"This is Blackbird to HQ, come in."
"HQ go ahead."
"We are on the scene clearance to engage?"
"Clearance granted, good luck boys!"
"Baclkbird out."

The squadrons of Panavia Tornado fighters got into battle formation and climbed in altitude to meet the Oseato fighters, (Armed with MBDA ASRAAM air-to-air missile and sidewinders) as they came from behind on the Oseato F-21's and F-35's came into target range. "Target lock, Box 3". The sidewinder raced ahead towards an F-21, and hit the wing causing it to spiral out of control. Bogey down!. The 63 Panavia Tornado fighters were there to give rapid support as they could only fire missiles before having to fly back. "This is Blackbird to Italia Orientale commander, where do you need our help? Over."

Meanwhile back at the forward base in Harlindia, the 2 Bushmasters with the 4 seriously injured and dead arrived at the base to meet the CH-47 Medivacc chinook. "Flight commander Johnson, what do we have here?"
"We've got 4 seriously wounded torn up by IED's needing evac and 2 KIA's."
"Get them into the chopper we've got a medic team, hopefully they can stablise them."

"Sir", yelled a soldier yelled from the car collins dead he's got no pulse.
"For F**K sack, put him in a body bag with the others, and hurry up and get those wounded men on chopper".

As the 3 surving seriously wounded men were loaded onto the chinook. The soldiers got back in their bloodied bushmasters and headed back to the mountains taking ammunition and grenades for there squad.

"You think there still alive up there? I mean we were in a bad spot, and where's Havoc squad?".

"I'm sure they'ld be on there way."

Havoc squad were now approaching the insurgents only 200 metres in the distances, mkaing way through a dense forest bushline. Two men in the squad loaded there M32 MGL grenade launchers with 6 rounds each. "Ready now boys, wait til we get closer." They got to within 75 metres before both soldiers launched all 12 rounds of the grenade launchers into the dense shrub surrounding the insuregnts, dirt and debris flew through the air making a cloud of smoke to the relief of eagle squad who were now able to make a 20 metre run to their bushmasters and suppress the insurgents who were now pinned and taking fire from two directions. They insurgents opened fire at Havoc squad, who were sent diving for cover behind thick tree trunks bullets zipping through the air and piercing some trees creating shrapnel from bark. Trent one of the soldiers in Havoc squad opened up fire with his FN 2000 tactical, with one of his bullets flying and going down the shirt of Commander Leigh Johnson. "ARGH, F***! It burns, ah hmmm..."
"Sorry Sir!"
"Don't worry about it just keep shooting!"

The firefight lasted 25 minutes once Havoc squad arrived with a body count of insurgents at 87, as Australiazia toke 3 KIA's and 3 wounded. Two Bushmasters arrived as they returned from the Harlindia base, disappointed but not relevied the battle was over. The Australiazian soldiers put C4 on the 6 destroyed Bushmasters to destroy any useful equipment that insurgents could take and sell, or use for themselves. As there were now only 15 cars some of the soldiers had to sit on the back of the cars and hold on or walk back, with the soldiers obviously opting for a free ride after tiring 4 hour firefight. As they drove down the road, in the rear vision mirror the C4 was detinated leaving a nice ploom of smoke in the distance.

Australiazian News

President Campbell Brown has today spoken about the recent unfolding events in UA. "The battle against the insurgents has become a bit harder as the ORNA forces are faced with a new force of Oseatoian military back the insurgents. We have already increased our number of troops to 185,000, which we believe is sufficent for the time being with more troops on alert and ready to leave to UA if required. The Garmidian government have request talks with the Oseato government in an attempt to come to an agreement, however the Oseato government is yet to answer and is still carrying out an air attack against our allies Italia Orientale in which we are currently giving support to. A ceasefire is a possibility but no talks in place, we will wait and see what the outcome is if Oseato accepts or refuses talks with Garmidia, the appropriate action will be taken."

The Federation of Oseato

While the Federation would like to enter into peace talks, we cannot justify a cease fire at this time, due to the impending attacks on the Combined Oseaton Fleets. Please name a place and time for our delegates can meet in order to discuss these matters. In the mean time, Oseaton Forces will continue to defend themselves and the National Front.

Most Sincerely,

Off the Coast of Bastion

Unannounced to the ORNA forces, the 2nd and 5th Oseaton Fleets had arrived to aid the 1st Fleet. The 1st Oseaton Fleet was pulling back to join both fleets. During this time they detected the incoming fast attack craft and their missile launches and mobilized to meet the threat.

The ONS Joseph Ross Huntington III launched her aircraft in order to protect the retreating 1st Fleet. Her full compliment of 48 F-21's launched and headed toward the raging air battle as her 24 A-6's launched loaded with Harpoon missiles to deal with the fast attack craft. Her two escort carriers also launched their 40 F-35's and sent them into the battle. The ONS Karl Liebnitz also launched it's compliment of F-21's and A-6's. The F-21's were joined by the F-35's 2 escorting carriers that attended to the Liebnitz. Together they formed a protective air bubble around the fleets as the aircraft engaging in the massive dogfight pulled back and disengaged from the battle. If the ORNA aircraft wanted to pursue they'd have to fly the gauntlet of anti-air missiles and attending CAP.

Not far from the carriers of the 2nd Fleet were the carriers ONS Thomas Roosevelt and ONS Hanz Claris. Together they would assure air superiority over the fleet and would stave off any attempts by the ORNA collective Air Forces and Navies to harm the newly formed Combined Oseaton Fleet.

Unfortunately for the Winston and her attendants, the missiles from the Italia craft were already in the air. Many were knocked down the the destroyer screen that was around the Winston. The Ticonderoga Class Crusier ONS Clarke also joined the battle to protect it's charge, launching it's SAM missiles at long range to knock down the incoming missiles. (In the Oseaton Navy, each carrier is assigned a protective crusier) Shouts of "Vampires inbound!" echoed throughout the carrier group. One Frigate took the full brunt of several missiles and ceased to exist, exploding in a massive ball of fire. Another frigate was hit and burning, as well as a destroyer. In a last ditch effort to stave off the incoming missiles, the Clarke fired off chaff rockets hoping to break the lock of several of the incoming missiles. It worked to some extent, but a missile that had flown into the chaff detonated as it passed the ship, spraying the deck with shrapnel and damaging some of the radar and communications masts. Another missile slammed into the bow of the Winston, sending a shudder down the length of the ship. Thankfully, thanks to the location of the missile strike, the damage was minimal. However, yet another frigate joined the others at the bottom of the sea. Upon hearing the news Adm. Toland swore and promised to avenge the deaths of so many Oseaton sailors.

The A-6's from the combined fleet quickly when to work on the incoming patrol and fast attack craft. The Harpoons were technically overkill for such small ships, but they worked just as effectively. Several destroyers and frigates from the Von Seelow's carrier group joined the battle as well as the Corvettes and other ships from the 2nd and 5th fleets.

Meanwhile, overhead, the Oseaton Naval Air Forces quickly disengaged from the dogfight, having lost a number of aircraft, but giving just as well as they got. While they had lost around 12 aircraft, and several damaged, they had atleast that many confirmed hits on enemy aircraft. The aircraft withdrew behind the fighter screen of the 2nd fleet and flew into the protective bubble established by the 5th Fleet.

During this time, several more divisions of the Oseaton Federal Army had been offloaded onto the shore. As the heavy brigades of the Oseaton V, VI, and VII Corps were offloaded, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Expeditionary Brigades began the expansion of the Oseaton beachhead. 300 Paladin SPH's as well as the ONS Georg Bremer unleashed a barrage of artillery fire on suspected enemy positions. Elements of the 7th and 8th Airborne also headed into battle, bypassing the enemy and heading north along the coast. They quickly dug in and established a temporary airfield for their AH-64 gunships and UH-60 transports.

The EFV's and Stryker MGS's of the Expeditionary Brigades did not directly engage the ORNA forces, instead they rolled north and established a defensive line anchored by the Cape of Peace and the Gulf of Bastion, and the Airborne units in the north. The artillery strikes began to let up as the Expeditionary Brigades dug in and fortified the area. Behind them the heavy brigades were still forming up, but were closer to coming up to fully operational. Artillery began firing scatterable minefields out in front of the defensive line, in order to deter the ORNA from attacking the Oseaton defensive line. It was only a matter of time before the 2nd Shock Army would be able to commit everything it had to defending it's line and launching possible counterattacks.

The fast attack ships were taking heavy losses, 10 PB-108’s and 3 Christinas had already been sunk by Oseaton Aircraft. However, they had also been able to sink or severely damage several Oseaton ships on their initial approach. Now they were able to get in close against the enemy ships, preventing Oseaton air support from targeting them too effectively due to their proximity to the other ships. They continued to unleash their missiles and torpedoes against the Oseaton ships as they pulled back towards their newly arrived Carrier Groups.

The Fast Ships got the order to pull back as it would be complete suicide to pursue the ships into yet two more Carrier Groups. The ships turned and began to head back, but not before firing one last barrage of missiles into the Oseaton fleet.
________________________________________________________________________

Up above Italian and Australiazian planes remained locked in a dog fight with Oseaton forces. After taking heavy losses in the initial assault by Oseato, the ORNA forces seemed to have evened the playing field and were now able to hold off the Oseaton fighters. As the enemy’s planes turned back towards their Carrier Group to regroup, the ORNA forces did the same.

“All planes return to your carriers! Repeat, all planes return to Carriers!” crackled Commander Malatesta’s radio.

“Yessir!” replied Malatesta, this had been one hell of a dogfight. The boys from Italia Orientale had been surprised inititially and badly outnumbered, but the arrival of Australizian forces plus two more Carrier Groups seemed to have evened the odds.

Meanwhile, back at the Armory, Lieutenant Corrado and his men burst into the final warehouse at the Bastion Armory. They tossed in grenades and rushed in. They immediately came under heavy fire, and one soldier went down. However, there were not many insurgents left, and the Italia Orientale troops outnumbered them.

Corrado lifted his rifle and blasted into a group of insurgents scrambling to reposition themselves, dropping two of them. The rest of the insurgents began to move towards the back of the warehouse, trying to fall back for a more defensive position.

Just then, an Urbara Tirik came smashing through the back wall of the warehouse and came barreling down on the insurgents. The tank’s machine guns began unloading on the insurgents that were left causing them to scatter in panic. The troops of the 50th Regiment took advantage of the confusion amongst the NF ranks and picked them off one by one. Soon, the warehouse was clear.

“Get on the com,” said Lieutenant Corrado, “inform command that the Armory is secure.”

"God dammit!" Shouted Lt. Col. Steve again.

He looked out the rest of his wing, and they were all disappointed too.

FROM: ORNA Garmidia Command
TO: Australiazia Command, Italia Orientale Command and Anacreon Command

Garmidia and Oseato have agreed to talks between Oseato and ORNA. If you wish to be represented at this meeting please announce your delegates. The meeting will take place at 11:00 on Thursday at the Dastin National Building in Dastin, Garmidia. These talks will be a possible peace solution to the conflict between ORNA and Oseato.

Until then, direct attacks from the Garmidian military to the Oseato military have been called off until further notice.

General C. Allen Gates, Foreign Minister of the Federation of Oseato, turned and faced the cameras as he reached the top of the stairs leading to a government Boeing 747. He along with several members of his staff would be heading the delegation in the talks with the Garmidians. Hopefully they would be able to work something out. However, Oseato was also prepared for things if the meeting did not work out.

ONS Wilhelm Von Seelow, 1st Oseaton Fleet

Admiral Joseph Rochefort saluted Adm. Toland on the deck of the Von Seelow. Toland was leaving to take part in the peace talks in Garmidia.

"Take care Joe, if things heat up, its your head on the chopping block now." Toland said with a smile. It wasn't technically true, while Rochefort was taking command of the Combined Oseaton Fleets, General Grueder had been placed in overall command while Toland was away. The Combined Oseaton Fleets were still mourning the loss of several of their fellow sailors, however morale was high and an exclusion zone had been set up and enforced by Oseaton Aircraft, well outside missile range of the fleet. The last missiles fired by the ORNA craft had damaged yet another destroyer, but the damage was minimal thanks to the wall of anti-air/missile fire thrown up by the combined fleet. The Oseaton fleet was doing everything it could to make sure nothing like that was going to happen again.

Oseaton Defense Line, Bastion, United Anacreon

While the Fleet readied itself and the officials were heading for Garmidia, General Grueder was now on solid land seeing to the deployment of his forces. The 2nd Shock Army was a beast of a military machine. 9,000 Kraker IIO MBT's, 300 EFV's, 600 Stryker MGS's, 4,250 Bradley IFV's, 3,180 Paladin SPH's, a total of 343,470 soldiers, of which 183,850 were combat troops (meaning infantry, airborne, mechanized combat troops, not drivers or tankers). It was by far the largest active military unit in the history of Oseato. Grueder was very confident in their abilities, even in the face of large odds.

The defensive line was a work of art to General Grueder. In front of the line lay several minefields with several "Blacktopian specials" as the Oseaton Federal Army called it. If the ORNA forces attempted to breach it, they would be in for quite the surprise. Interlaced with the minefield were large amounts of constantina wire to prevent any ORNA forces from poking around the minefield. In the main line, Oseaton Kraker IIO's were dug in hull down, as to offer as little exposed tank as possible. Joining them were Stryker Mobile Gun systems and several Bradley IFV's. Infantry was dug in all around the tanks to provide the needed cover if ORNA infantry attempted to force their way through.

Luckily for the Oseaton's the defensive line did not take up all of the available units. several groups of armor and infantry were able to be left in the rear as reinforcements or a force to spearhead a counterattack. Deployed along the line were the 45th, 46th, and 47th Armored Brigades as well as the 2nd Expeditionary Brigade, and the 7th and 8th Airborne. Oseaton engineers had worked wonders and had created a landing strip for Oseaton aircraft to land on so that a steady stream of supplies was flying in. This was in addition to the pontoon ports the engineers had also put up in order to allow for a faster flow of material off the supply ships. Already reports were coming in that the High Command was preparing several wings of F-22's and A-10's for deployments to what was now know as "Grueder Field." Off shore the battleship ONS Bremer was joined by several of her sister ships, the ONS Wade Hampton V and ONS Patrick Mahan. The Oseaton Armed Forces were preparing for a fight and were not going to be forced from their positions.

Vice Admiral Bossi stood n the deck of the Uluj Ali as the ship was assessing and repairing damage from the Oseaton attack. Italia Orientale’s fighters and fast attack ships were returning to the fleet to regroup and prepare for another attack.

“Sir!” yelled one of the crewmen, “High General Mustafa al-Quds is on the line, he says it is urgent.”

“Put him on my secure line,” barked Bossi, what could this be about? Bossi went to his secure phone and picked it up. “Bossi here,” he said into the phone.

“Admiral,” replied al-Quds, “are your ships and planes returning to the Uluj Ali?”

“Yes,” replied Bossi, “we are preparing for another attack against them. We’re going to join in with the planes and attack ships from the Africanus and the Garibaldi, I think we’ll be able to—”

“No!” ordered the High General, “apparently there are going to be some peace talks and there is supposed to be a cease-fire, cease all attack plans immediately.”

Bossi took the phone from his ear and looked at it incredulously. How could they be calling for a cease-fire? These Oseaton scum bags had attacked his fleet, and his men had been killed. “Sir, I don’t understand…”

“This is not for you to understand Bossi,” replied al-Quds, “just do as your told Admiral. Now I need to alert the rest of our forces.”

The High General hung up the phone, leaving Bossi standing on the bridge with a puzzled look on his face.

“What’s wrong admiral?” asked one of the crewmen as a large group of them gathered knowing something major had just happened.

“Apparently, there is supposed to be a cease-fire,” said Bossi still processing the news. Shouts of protest and anger erupted from the men on the bridge. “Hey!” yelled Bossi, “maintain order!” The crewmen quieted down. “Now get back to your posts,” said the Admiral, “cease all attack activity, but remain on high alert and at battle stations, these vermin may try to attack us anyway and I don’t want to be caught slipping.”

Brigadier Hamid al-Azzam sat in his Urbara Tirik tank as Italia Orientale’s 3rd Armored Division and the 6th Infantry were finishing mop-up duty on the insurgents left in the Armory. Suddenly his radio crackled, “Brigadier Azzam, come in! Brigadier Azzam, come in!”

Azzam grabbed the radio and spoke, “Azzam here.”

“This is Major General Boccacio,” said the voice on the other end, which turned out to be that of the commander of the entire 3rd Armored.

“Yes General,” replied Azzam, “what can I do for you?”

“We need you to stand down from your current operation,” said Boccacio, “there is going to be a cease-fire as peace talks are set up.”

“You can’t be serious!?” replied Azzam shocked, “we’re about to finish off these savages.”

“That is an order Brigadier!” said Boccacio firmly, “I’m not happy about it either, but orders are orders, Boccacio out.”

Azzam turned to the rest of his tank crew, “can you believe these idiots just called for a cease-fire?”

His tank crew had a similar reaction to the men of the Uluj Ali, anger and confusion. “But sir!” said one of them, the driver, “we’ve already lost so many men fighting these scum.”

“I know,” replied the Brigadier, “I don’t even want to know how the rest of the Division will react to this news.”

Prime Minister Francesco Cesare, like most people in Italia Orientale’s military apparatus, was not happy about the cease-fire being called. Oseato’s forces had attacked and killed his men, and now he was expected to let them simply walk away? He knew though that a peace agreement would be best for all parties involved and, most importantly, for the poor people living in Anacreon whose lives had been interrupted and destroyed by this conflict. If they could have peace, thought Cesare, then he would be happy. He stepped up to the podium where he was going to make the announcement of the cease-fire:

Good evening my fellow citizens. Effective immediately, Italia Orientale is temporarily ceasing attack operations against the insurgents and Oseaton forces in Anacreon as part of an agreed upon cease-fire between Garmidia, representing our ORNA allies, and Oseato. While it was not entirely my wish, nor that of Italia Orientale’s military command to have this cease-fire, we will comply out of respect to our allies Garmidia, Australiazia, and Anacreon.

Our nation has not forgotten, and will not forget, the unexpected and cowardly attack that Oseaton forces carried out against our own armed forces when our men had neither attacked nor threatened any Oseaton personnel. Our men fought bravely in response and were able to repel Oseato’s attack and strike back in return, inflicting similar damage on the enemy. We do not take this treachery lightly and we will remember Oseato’s actions if the peace talks break down.

However, considering that these peace talks could end the suffering and conflict that the people of Anacreon have had to endure, we will go into them with our full sincerity and work to the best of our abilities to bring this conflict to an end. It was, after all, the cause of aiding the people of Anacreon and Australiazia that drew our nation into this conflict in the first place. Thus, we would view any fair and peaceful resolution of the conflict as a fulfillment of our mission.

Thank you, and may God bless Italia Orientale, the community of the faithful, and the people of Anacreon, as well as all of the fighting men of the ORNA forces shedding their blood to spread freedom and justice.

Garmidian President Sam Philips rang Italia Orientale's Prime Minister on his phone, directly, shortly before Philips address to the world.

"Cesare? Yeah, this is Philips. The negotiations... yeah... yeah, I know the negotiations aren't exactly what you and your armed forces would've wanted. But... yeah, exactly. The fact that we would now be fighting a massive war over a small insurgency seems unacceptable to me. We have to think of the people as well. I don't like it either but it's needed for all parties involved... Yep. I'm about to make my address now... alright. I'll see your delegates at the meeting. Bye." He hung up and stepped out of his backroom and onto the press podium.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, Leaders of the World, Citizens of Garmidia. Just 10 hours ago, The Federation of Oseato agreed to negotiations on the end of the military action they undertook in support of the National Salisbury Front, the insurgency that violently proclaimed Salisbury Bay as their own, and will be meeting in Dastin only a few hours away.

While it was not my original intention to draw a cease fire because of their attacks on our ally Italia Orientale, the consequences of full out war for all ORNA nations and Oseato and the insurgents would mean immense loss of human life as well as major destruction of the civilian population, the reason we entered this war in the first place. Nor was it my intention to have a full out war. We already did this same thing fighting cowardly NF forces in Australiazia.

So effective immediately, Garmidian military action and hopefully other ORNA nations military action will cease. However: If peace talks fail, and god help us and the civilians if they do, we will fight hard, fight forward and fight proud. I praise those brave men fighting these violent insurgents and spilling their blood for democracy. Thankyou, God bless you and God bless Garmidia."

Admiral Toland was at the bottom of the steps to greet General Gates as he walked down from Oseaton 747. Toland himself had flown in an unarmed A-6 from the Combined Fleets not an hour or so before. He would be providing General Gates with military advice during the talks, as it had been some time since Gates had seen combat. With a quick salute he welcomed his fellow Oseaton.

"How's it going, sir? I trust the flight was nice?" asked Toland.

"A great flight, I'm glad the previous government liked to spend lavishly on their private aircraft." smiled Gates as he replied. "Where to now, Jake?"

"The Garmidians have provided us with a motorcade to take us to the National Building here in Dastin." informed Toland, he smiled before continuing. "They're quite hospitable for a nation that is at war with us."

"Yes, quite." replied Gates. "Well let's not keep them waiting any longer." Gates walked to the vehicle with Toland while his personal security detail would ride in other cars provided by the Garmidians. "We'll have to make sure we set up an embassy here after this conflict. A nice country."

"Yes, sir." agreed Toland. "Sir, if you don't mind me asking, why are we negotiating? With our reinforcements I think we can win this war."

"Well Jake," sighed Gates, "it isn't as simple as that. While Hamilton believes in you and your boys, he thinks that we may be able to get what we wish by negotiating, I can't reveal to you what we're going to be aiming for just yet, as this car could have bugs in it, but you'll find out soon enough. Also, several of our allies are dangerously close to all out war with several ODECON nations, in fact, from the reports we've received, our support of a key ally, and our defense of them has put us at odds with ODECON. Talks aren't going as well as planned so the President wishes us to attempt to talk a solution out of the ORNA, as they are not the biggest threat to us at the moment. However, something tells me they wont be all that accepting of the terms we're going to propose."

"I see...well, here's to hoping. I talked to Grueder before I left, his boys should all be mobilized and active by now, and the defensive line should be established. I'd say were in a pretty good position no matter what happens here." said Toland. At just that moment the cars stopped outside of the National Building where the talks would be held.

Gates opened the door himself and stepped out."Showtime Admiral."

High General Mustafa al-Quds and Foreign Minister Muhammad Rossi sat in their Cadillac limousine on the way to the peace talks. They had flown into Dastin and were now on the way to the National Building. “So what do you think these scum bags are going to ask for at this conference?” asked Rossi.

“You’re supposed to be the negotiator,” responded al-Quds chuckling, “I’m just the military guy.”

“Well I don’t know,” mused Rossi, “I’m not very worried about it either way, it doesn’t seem like anyone really wants to see this war get out of control.”

“Speak for yourself,” said the General.

Minister Rossi laughed, he couldn’t blame him. But, as foreign minister, Rossi knew that peace was the best solution for everyone, at least he hoped. Any escalation would only turn this war into an even greater humanitarian disaster than it already was.

The limousine arrived at the National Building and the two men got out. “Here we go Rossi,” said al-Quds laughing, “ it’s about time for your charm to start doing some of the fighting.”

President Sam Philips and Jack Flaw, the Secretary of Defense, stood at the bottom of the large steps going in to the Dastin National Building. Somehow he thought these negotiations weren't going to work, but, they had to try at least.

Italia didn't want it, Oseato was happy to fight. The massive humanitarian disaster already occurring and the immense destruction already caused by the insurgency meant huge amounts of money would have to be spent, on top of efforts already rebuilding Australiazia, where over 1,000,000,000,000 dollars had already been spent. More being spent would put the Government in huge debt.

Philips sighed as he saw the motorcade approaching. He wondered what would come of today's peace talks.

"Bad feeling?" Flaw whispered in to Philip ear.

"Absolutely." Philips replied back. The world's media was watching today's events. "Any idea what Oseato is going to ask for?"

"Not a damn clue."

Mustafa al-Quds and Muhammad Rossi walked their way up the steps and greeted Philips and Flaw.

"How are you?" Asked Philips as he shook the two men's hands.

As General Gates and Admiral Toland both stepped out of the car they noticed the Garmidians were greeting another delegation. An aide to General Gates stepped forward and informed the General that they were the delegation from the Italia Orientale.

"They must not be happy with all this, seeing as they took the brunt of the first attack." stated Gates. "Must have taken quite a bit to get them to agree to this."

"Well, sir. They gave nearly as well as they got. It isn't like they're the only ones that suffered casualties." replied Toland. He had no sympathy for the Italia leadership or any ORNA leaders, they had brought the casualties on themselves, attacking a foreign nation because they disagreed with their politics and because of that, Oseatons had died defending a nation's right to choose their own internal structure. "I suggest we get on with this sir."

"I agree, Jake, let's go meet our hosts." Gates said as the both began walking toward the Garmidian President.

As word of peace talks spread through the ground forces in Harlindia province and Alotau, all attacks on insurgents strongholds ended and a high alert was issued with the order to cease fire until told other wise. Troops in Anacreon were split in the decision however they were there for a reason and if it meant a cease fire they would all obey their commands. However there were still troop build ups and defensive positioons being made as they dig in, if the cease fire were to fall through.

In Australiazia President Campbell Brown heard the news of peace talks and the cease fire. He had declined the offer to join in talks with the nations involved in the conflict, rather sitting back and seeing what the meeting would come of. President Brown didn't want or mean to be seen as rude or wanting war, he was didn't want to take part.

Philips was somewhat disappointed that Australiazia had not sent delegates to the peace conference. They needed all the ORNA nations there.

"Let's head inside." Philips stated.

All the delegations made their way into the large building and there was a large conference table.

The delegations and the president sat at the table, ready to begin negotiations.

Dastin City, Garmidia

Admiral Toland took his seat to the right of General Gates across the table from the assembled ORNA delegates. Behind them sat several aides to General Gates who represented different portions of the Oseaton government and would monitor the talks.

General Gates looked across the table before beginning his statement. "The Federation of Oseato comes here to seek a peaceful conclusion to this conflict. However, do not mistake our willingness to talk as a sign of weakness. The Federation and her allies are fully prepared to continue this battle if need be. Both sides have already bled, some more than others. It is not Oseato's wish for this to continue, but it will if it has to. Therefore, the Federation of Oseato has come to present the following terms."

"One, all ORNA forces will withdraw from the Cape Salisbury region and will recognize Cape Salisbury as an independent country."

"Two, A Demilitarized Zone will be established along the border of United Anacreon and the newly independent republic of Cape Salisbury. This DMZ will be enforced by both the Armed Forces of the Federation of Oseato as well as by ORNA forces."

"Three, the Cape of Peace will be given to the Federation of Oseato as payment for the damages and monetary losses sustained."

"Four, The Federation of Oseato will pay reparations to all ORNA forces who sustained losses during the conflict."

"That concludes my statement." Finished Gates, closing his leather binder and looking across the table for a response.

Philips hadn't expected the negotiations to crash so quickly.

"As with Oseato, the fight will continue if need be."

Philips needed Anacreon to be at the meeting because land of Anacreon was at stake.

"However, Since Anacreon has not appeared at the meeting, we can not negotiate land deals because this is Anacreon's territory. However, we will be willing to negotiate any withdrawals of troops from areas or a joint patrol of certain areas, however land borders can not be defined. The Republic of Cape Salisbury is unsupported by nearly the entire civilian population of Anacreon, including civilians in Cape Salisbury, and it shows 95 % of the civilians are unsupportive of an independent Cape Salisbury, and the assassinated Kevin Manse's government was unsupportive of it, and the now incumbent Alex Leigh's government is unsupportive of it as well. The only support it has gathered are of insurgents and yourselves, and those insurgents are supportive of other insurgents who launched a violent coup, which killed civilians, to overthrow Manse's government before he was returned to power. Manse called for international help... we responded, so did Australiazia. Then those same insurgents attacked Australiazia.. which is deemed unacceptable. As to your remarks of intervening for the civilians right to chose their own internal structure, if this was true, you'd be on ORNA's side. We did not 'meddle' in their affairs, Manse's government called for international help to free Anacreon, and to safeguard the lives of Garmidian citizens in Anacreon, which number 150,000+, and after receiving distressing calls from a Garmidian citizen, who by the way, said himself they had 'begun to kill the civilians', we had no choice but to intervene. Johannes Chay came to power, he started executing civilians, and then he invades Australiazia, and then his supporters claim Cape Salisbury. No way."

Philips sat back.

Muhammad Rossi stood up from his chair and looked across at his colleagues. He said:

"Here is how I would deal with the Cape Salisbury issue. First, we put the city under joint Osseaton/ORNA administration until the civilian population is largely allowed to return to their homes and stability is restored. Then, we will hold a referendum in Cape Salisbury to let the people decide what should be their fate. They can either choose to remain part of Anacreon or secede.

This would, of course, be dependent on Anacreon's ok for the referendum since it is, after all, their country. As for the Cape of Peace that would need to be approved or disapproved by Anacreon as well.

Without a representative from Anacreon it is difficult to proceed any further with these negotiations. However, there is a humanitarian crisis going on and many civilians are homeless and in need of food and medical care. I believe it would be best to halt combat operations so that the needs of the civilian population can be addressed. Once we are able to bring a representative from Anacreon to the table, then we can resume with negotiations for a permanent peace agreement.

I believe this is the best way to proceed in the interests of the party that we are all trying to help, the people of Anacreon."

Rossi sat down.

After hearing both parties present their statements, General Gates leaned forward in his chair to respond. However, Admiral Toland cleared his throat as spoke "If I may, General?"

Gates looked at the Admiral for a short moment before leaning back and his chair and waving for Toland to go on. Toland nodded his thanks and turned to the President of Garmidia. "Sir, with all due respect and as someone who is where he is today due to a military coup, one just doesn't overthrow a democratically elected government for the sake of it or because they desired the mass murder of civilians. I sincerely doubt the entire military of United Anacreon decided it would be fun to kill civilians and incite war."

Gates leaned forward again and took over from there, quickly glancing at Toland while doing so. "That being said, the Federation of Oseato does not condone mass murder, but still supports the military remnants of the coup as legitimate leaders of United Anacreon, for their attempt at governing was interfered with by outside powers called upon by someone who had just been deposed from the government. The Federation of Oseato is willing to stop fighting so long as what is left of the insurgency is allowed it's freedom in the Cape Salisbury region. If the people of the region do not want the government the Federation of Oseato is willing to help them relocate to a desired location. If the National Front's government was to begin killing civilians, I assure you those responsible will be held accountable. Now, since a delegate from United Anacreon is not present, we could not possibly agree to anything here, however we wished to make our position known."

"Admiral Toland will be flying back to join the Oseaton Fleets, however I will remain here in Garmidia, provided I find some accommodations, if your government would be so kind as to assist me in that, for sadly I know little of your country, until such a time as an United Anacreon delegate is able to join us in these talks. I'm afraid I can only agree to a 72 hour respite from fighting so that civilians can be evacuated, the Federation will assist if possible, however after that time a state of war shall again exist between our two sides."

Minister Rossi stood up enraged:

“A state of war shall again exist between our two sides after 72 hours!? That makes no sense, what would we be fighting for other than for the pure sport of it!? We have ceased our operations against the insurgency, and did so at a time when we were about to finish crushing them. Thus you should thank us for sparing your pitiful band of insurgent allies from the slaughter and justice that they deserved.

You claim not to want the mass murder of civilians, but you are doing exactly that by resuming a war that currently has no set goals, unless it is to cause the maximum destruction possible on Anacreon. If that is the wish of the Oseaton delegation, then they should come out and say it like men. Do not waste our time claiming you respect the civilians when you are chomping at the bit to continue the conflict. These claims make you sound like nothing more than a deceitful pair of little girls.

You entered the war claiming to want to protect the insurgency, but this would serve the opposite purpose. This would cause more insurgents to die and would show the people that it is the insurgents and their allies, not ORNA, that continue to bring misery upon them. We will not, under any conditions, accept the partition of any territory of Anacreon without the consent of the interim Prime Minister and his government.

How dare you suggest that the people of Cape Salisbury should have to relocate to accommodate your treacherous insurgent allies. Your contempt for the will of the people truly disgusts me, and we do not care if you came to where you are because of a military coup. That makes it clear that you do not have the interests of the people of Anacreon at heart and that you only want Cape Salisbury independent so that it can become one of your puppet states. From there, I am sure you will continue to use your treacherous puppet to try to influence and undermine the democratically elected government of Anacreon.

Believe me, we are not afraid of you and we will be more than glad to bring death and destruction upon your forces if necessary. However, from where I am standing that would serve only to bring more death and destruction against this already war ravaged populace. We did not enter this conflict to increase our national influence in the region or flex our military muscle, we entered it with the best interests of the people of Anacreon in mind. Thus, we do not want to engage in any course of action that would undermine their interests of peace and stability. Despite the disgust that you two gentlemen cause us, we believe that the most humane course of action is to keep the cease-fire in effect until we can get a representative from Anacreon to enter the discussions. If, at that time, we still cannot come to an agreement, then we can settle our differences.”

Rossi sat down and looked over at General al-Quds. The General was grinning from ear to ear, “so much for that charm.”

Admiral Toland raised an eyebrow at the outburst from the Italia Orientale diplomat. Most diplomats remained calm even while personally enraged.

General Gates, on the other hand, had fully expected such a reaction.

"I find it quite hypocritical that you go on about the rights of the people whilst you wish to deny the rights of those that rose against the former government. From what I understand a vast portion of the United Anacreon Military followed these coup leaders and have engaged in this insurgency, hence we seek to secure them a place where they are not persecuted and subjected. We wish the same for the citizens that do not wish to be under the reign of the insurgency, therefore we are willing to help them, both in terms of labor and in monetary terms, resettle in an area that they choose. If you were so dedicated for the well being of all, you'd see that this is the best possible outcome of this conflict.

While myself and Admiral Toland have participated in a coup, I utterly reject your claim that we care nothing for the common man. Admiral Toland's background is one of a son of a poor Oseaton farmer. We participated in a coup because it was in the best interests of the people and restored order to our great nation. Therefore when we see another military coup unjustly condemned, we must move to support our brothers in arms so that the betterment of the people may be allowed to progress.

While I understand if you are skeptical, the Federation of Oseato has no interest in establishing some 'puppet state' nor do we have any quarrel with United Anacreon outside of their unjust suppression of the Independent Republic of Cape Salisbury. We don't fight for the pure sport of it, and we do have set goals, though apparently you weren't listening when I expounded them. Therefore I'll inform you again, the goal of Oseaton Forces in United Anacreon is to secure independence for Cape Salisbury. The only reason this bloodshed continues is because of your refusal to pull out of the Cape Salisbury area and recognize the independence of the republic. While I understand that a delegate from United Anacreon is not present, it is our position, based on the reactions of you yourselves that United Anacreon will not be accepting of this agreement, and therefore we feel it necessary to continue to apply pressure until ORNA forces are defeated in Cape Salisbury or voluntarily pull out.

In the mean time, I suggest you start evacuating all civilians in the Bastion area as well as the entire Cape Salisbury area. I've been informed that Oseaton forces have already begun the process of moving civilians out of the area held by Oseato and onto civilian cruise ships which have been chartered by the Federation of Oseato in order to provide a place of safety until such a time that another more permanent location can be found.

Now I suggest you take that 72 hours and get to work, because at the end of that deadline, you'll find how disgusted the Federation of Oseato is with your interference in a domestic power struggle."

General al-Quds stood up this time and said, “please excuse the outburst from my friend Mr. Rossi.” He looked directly at the Oseaton delegation.

“We accept your cordial invitation for war,” he said smiling, “we look forward to meeting your forces on the field of battle.” He gathered his papers on the desk in front of him. “Now if you will excuse me,” he said, “I must get back to my soldiers and begin coordinating the civilian evacuation. I believe we are finished here.”

05-05-2009, 04:09
The Federation of Ehrfurcht has grown increasingly concerned regarding the escalation of the situation in Anacreon and is especially disturbed by the Federation of Oseato's attempts to crush democracy in the nation as well as their potentially destabilising effect in the region should they gain a permanent foothold.

Newly elected President John Saddler has put the issue to vote before the Parliament resulting in the readying of mobilisation throughout the Federation of it's mass pool of reservists; the organisation for the mass forced acquisition of armaments and equipment from the various industries in the nation (for adequate compensation) and the mobilisation of the navy and air force. All government agencies have been put on high alert and the relevant mercenaries are ready to be hired.

In light of the stalled negotiations, the Federation recognises that the ceasefire is unlikely to hold for long and will not allow any part of Anacreon to become a colony to the dictatorship of Oseato. The Federation have already sent the relevant communications to ORNA HQ and await only their word.

Memo from Emily Neil, Ehrfurcht's Defence Minister.

The Federation of Oseato is deeply offended at the baseless accusations thrown about by the Federation of Ehrfurcht.

First of all, the Federation of Oseato does not seek to crush democracy in United Anacreon, only gain the rightful independence for the Cape Salisbury area.

2nd, the Federation of Oseato is not a dictatorship, but rather run by a senate and military junta, the President could be replaced at any time by another general. The Senate of Oseato is democratically elected.

3rd, The Federation of Oseato is not attempting to establish a colony. It simply wishes to aid those who seek independence from United Anacreon.

That being said, we regret your decision, for your soldiers will meet only death on the battlefield.

Sam Philips sat back, feeling crap. No result except war.

"Alright. One last thing. The civilians don't want Cape Salisbury. 95 % don't. What the hell is the point of fighting over something the government and the civilians never wanted? We know the military didn't incite a random coup for the hell of it. Something to do with funding or something. A 72 hour cease-fire will maybe get half the civilians out of the areas. As for Ehrfurcht, more military action will probably inflame the situation above what it already is. As for the fact that the military killed the civilians for the hell of it, well, it sure as hell looks like they did to me, as well as executing the members of the government, which is absolutely horrid and despicable. We weren't asked by the Prime Minister whilst he was out of government. It was a couple of hours before he was replaced, violently."

The United Anacreon Army and parts of the National Front have signed an agreement.
The nation of Cape Salisbury will be an autonomous region under former military control and they will agree to stop attacks.

Under the new treaty, Cape Salisbury will have all mining and oil rights to the island of Papua, and military leaders will be granted immunity. Cape Salisbury will have a referendum to decide the fate of the military government later this year.

It is unknown whether the ORNA or Oseato's forces will continue the conflict, as of now Anacreon is at a permanent ceasefire thus ending the conflict.

Official Communique --- The Democratic Islamic Republic of Italia Orientale

The Democratic Islamic Republic of Italia Orientale wishes to congratulate the Kingdom of United Anacreon on finally reaching an agreement to resolve the insurgent question. We also are ready to provide any assistance that United Anacreon may require during its rebuilding process following this difficult conflict. We want our friend Alex Leigh and the members of his new government to know that he has the full support of Italia Orientale as they strive to revive their economy and political system.

We also wish to welcome the new state of Cape Salisbury to the community of nations. We hope that your country will be strong and prosperous, as well as a friend and ally to its neighbor United Anacreon. We encourage the two states to cooperate as much as possible to ensure that the rebuilding process goes as smoothly as possible and that the people can resume their lives and begin their own rebuilding efforts. As we begin to withdraw our fighting forces, we would like to offer to send medical professionals, engineers, and construction firms to offer both emergency and long term services. All costs will be covered by our government.

The Democratic Islamic Republic of Italia Orientale also considers its state of war with the Federation of Oseato to be terminated barring any transgressions on their part. We hope that Oseato will play a positive role in the development of newly independent Cape Salisbury.

Finally, Italia Orientale also wishes to congratulate our allies Garmidia and Australiazia on finally having resolved a long war in which both nations shed their blood. Australiazia had the destruction of the war brought to its own shores, but it was able to endure and recover fully under the steady leadership of President Campbell Brown. We hope that our nations can continue our cooperation in future endeavors.

The Republic of Australiazia: statement on Cape Salisbury

The Australiazian government will happily welcome peace to United Anacreon and Cape Salisbury region. However the Australiazian government doesn't recognised Cape Salisbury independence as a state/country or borders, and will not help in aid or rebuilding of the area that has been the cause of our nations bloodshed. Furthermore Australiazia will keep a peacekeeping force within United Anacreon on the 'border' of the Cape Salisbury, to make sure the new "government" doesn't have any border wars or any further conflict.

The Australiazia military will reduce from 285,000 troops to 15,000 peacekeepers to begin immediately. The government of Australiazia also pledges $1,000,000,000 in aid and raw building materials to United Anacreon.

GOVERNMENT OF GARMIDIA OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE

The Government of Garmidia is welcome to the peace treaty established, ending the insurgency and war. We will pledge $45,000,000,000 to Cape Salisbury and Anacreon, and will reduce troops from 24,000,000 to 250,000 to patrol allied-controlled areas and Cape Salisbury.

Because Peace was brokered between Anacreon and Oseato, we will accept the wishes of or ally and officially recognize Cape Salisbury. Furthermore, the existing state of war between Oseato and Garmidia is now officially recognized as null and void following this peace treaty, and all combat operations upon Oseaton military will be ceased.

We will be setting up humanitarian corridors in Cape Salisbury and affected cities of Anacreon to help the civilians.

However: Because a referendum on the military government and government in general will be held later this year to decide the fate of the government of Cape Salisbury, we can not and will not seek diplomatic relations with Cape Salisbury until the referendum has been held and the results are shown.
