History
250 years B.U. (Before Unification), the invention of the hyperdrive allowed the many worlds of the galaxy to interact and connect never before possible. Explorers charted new lanes through hyperspace and discovered new planets and cultures. But instead of one unified government, the galaxy was divided among several nations. For decades, these nations waged wars among one another in the quest for galactic dominance. As the years went by, one nations slowly conquered the others, until in 0 BU the leader of the nation, Maximillian Valorum, declared himself Supreme Chancellor of the Unified Galactic Republic. Since then the Republic has slowly expanded, and has just recently begun to make contact with other nations.

Government and Politics
The capital of the Unified Galactic Republic is the planet of Coruscant, which is covered by city except for the polar caps. The Republic is governed by the Galactic Senate, which elects a Supreme Chancellor, who serves for life, or until impeached. The Senate is the hub of the government, but the Supreme Chancellor has the power of veto and holds tremendous clout. The Senate is made up of a delegation of up to five representatives from each planet in the Republic. The bulk of the Senators serve for life, and many are becoming quite corrupt. It is said that many are willing to sell their vote to anyone who has the credits, and many are under the control of special-interest groups or corporations.

Economy
The currency of the Republic is the credit, which can be found in coin denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and so on. The manufacturing center of the Republic is concentrated along the Hydian Way, with the ship building worlds of Kuat, Rendili, and Corellia, and the manufacturing worlds of Duro, Colomus, Humbarine, and Tepasi. The planets along rhe Perlemian Route, running from Coruscant to Ralltir, are hubs of technology and science. Alderaan, Abregado, Aargau, and Borlieas are the main agrarian worlds, and supply most of the Republic’s food.

Military
The Republic armed forces are split into two major forces: the Grand Army of the Republic and Republic Starfleet. The army’s front-line troops are primarily clone soldiers, with some non-clone units operating alongside them. Clad in battle armor and armed with KX-60 blaster rifles, the troops of the Grand Army are highly professional and very well trained. Republic troopers are designed to excel at any situation, and have a very well armed vehicle pool to back them up, including AAT tanks, LAAT gunships, and SPHA artillery. Starfleet is the starships and starfighters of the Republic, tasked with securing the space around planets, escorting and providing support to the Grand Army, and engaging and destroying enemy fleets. From Clawcraft fighters and Scourge bombers to Venator-class battleships and Executor-class Flagships, Starfleet is equipped with the very best the shipbuilders can turn out.

The Order of the Basilisk
This group of warriors learned to harness an invisible field known as the Force around 194 B.U. For years, they roamed the galaxy, dispensing peace and justice. They started carrying lightsabers around 189 BU, and around the same time they discovered the Basilisks, a species of semi-sentient machines built by a long-dead race. They tamed these Basilisks, and from this their name arose. In 32 BU a massive schism in the Order led to the deaths of almost all of the Basilisks. The few that remain live on the Order’s stronghold, the planet of Byss. The Order is now technically a branch of the Galactic Senate, but in reality they enjoy a very high degree of autonomy. The Order is divided into Apprentices, who are new initiates, Warriors, who are midlevel members, and Masters, the most experienced of the Order. The Order is led by the Elder Council, which consists of the eldest and most experienced Masters.

Committee for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR)
Formed after the Unification and the formation of the Unified Galactic Republic, the Committee is designed to identify and eliminate all threats to the unity of the Republic. COMPNOR is the primary internal intelligence and security agency for the Republic, and has it’s own motor pool with Arrow-23 landspeeders and a small fleet component, consisting of Tartan-class patrol vessels.

Something about your tech, planet names, and history is familiar, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

Maybe next time, try to make something a little more unique than a carbon-copy of the Star Wars universe?

I didn't say offend. I said that you could have -- should have -- tried to make this more unique. As it is... well, unless this is a puppet nation (and even then, it's still low population), I really don't think that it's ICly fair for you, as a 98 million-population nation, to run two dozen different planets and the whole Star Wars armada.

First off, where does it say you have to go by what NS says your population is? I had to start over, so my actual nation has a far larger pop. in II than NS. Second, Telvira is MT. This is FT, so the original nation stats don't apply.

Well, having less than 100 million people in your nation implies a new player, a person hardly worthy of possessing more 'property', as it were, than people with populations (read: playing time) 10 times yours. Read this for an idea -- bottom post, since you're so into "I DON'T SEE ANY RULES". (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=9689501&postcount=7) This has nothing to do with FT or MT, nor does it have to do with the fact that you're RPing a good chunk of the Star Wars universe as your nation -- the issue is, as I said above, you, as a 98 million-population nation, and so... what, an (apparently) month-old nation/player?, run two dozen different planets and the whole Star Wars armada.

So, are you claiming this is a puppet/restart? If so, what was your 'main'? And yes, I am getting this deep into it; I would like to see, even if you TG me the link. Once more: I really don't think one person with only 400 posts to their name (unless they have a thousand-some post count on an alt account, which you may) should have possession of this much territory.
