The Republic of the New British Shores
Constitution
We the People of the Republic of The New British Shores, in Order to form a free and Fair Nation, establish Justice, ensure domestic stability, provide for the defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure for Liberty to ourselves do establish this Constitution for the Republic of The New British Shores.
Article One
From Hereon, legislative power in the Republic will be granted to the Republic Congress. Congress shall have the power to make all laws necessary for the welfare of the Nation and its people. Thereby the Power of Government is placed with Congress of the people, for the people. Members of Congress will be elected by those in their home sector; the number of Congressmen/women shall be determined by the size of the Sector in question.
Article Two
From Hereon, Executive Power in the Republic is granted to the duly elected President of the Republic. He/She shall hold his/her term for the four years, with opportunity for re-election at the end of the term. A Vice-President shall be chosen for the Same Term. They shall be elected as follows the populous of the Republic will vote by ballot for the candidate pair for the Office Of President and Vice President they believe would best lead the Republic.
Should the President be removed from office, or in the case of his death or inability to discharge the office of President Executive powers will pass to the Vice President who will become President of the Republic. Before executing his duties as President the President-Elect must take the following oath;
‘ I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the Republic, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Republic, So help me God’
The President shall choose Sectaries of State for the various Departments of the Republic, these choices must be confirmed by the Republic Congress and shall have the responsibilities to lead the Department for which they are chosen
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy and Air force of the Republic, the President Commissions all Officers of the Republic and has the Power, with the advice and consent of the Congress to declare war against any who may threaten the Nation Security and Citizens of the Republic and to make subsequent peace.
The President has the responsibility to keep Congress informed on the State of the Republic every six months. And has the ability to call emergency sessions should the need arise.
The President, Vice President and all other Civil Officers of the Republic can been removed from office on Impeachment for Serious crimes such as Treason and Murder among others.
Article Three
From Hereon, Judicial Power in the Republic is granted to the Court system, composing of; Regional courts, sector courts, National Courts and the Supreme Court. These courts will have the authority to try criminals and if convicted the duly elected Judges have the authority to set a sentence for the convict. This can range from Community service to house arrest, to Prison, and in cases such as 1st Degree Murder, the Death Penalty.
Article Four
Amendments to this Constitution must go through a process where it is considered in Congress and once due discussion has been achieved a vote of 75% in favour must occur before the Amendment becomes Law.
Signed by Unanimous vote by the Last Congress before the Rise of the Tyrant, who is now our Nations Congress Until renewed Voting can be held. Signed on the 21st of May In the Year Two Thousand and Nine.
