National Israelite Party Threatens Nation!

The National Israelite Party (NIP) sent a strongly worded message to all radio stations today. In the message they stated the following:

"זמן רב מדי אנחנו כבר להלחץ, עכשיו זה ישתנה. עמנו כבר חבוט, הוזנחו, או מוות מזולזל וכעת יגיע משטר פשיסטי שלך! אנו שביתה כאשר לא פחות לצפות בו, נגב את התרבות של כל המשאבים, ולקחת את הנשים והילדים לעבוד כמו עבדים!"

("For too long we have been oppressed, and now it will change. Our people have been oppressed, neglected, and disrespected and now death will come to your fascist regime! We will strike when you least expect it, wipe your civilization of all resources, and take your women and children to work as slaves!")

The NIP has had a history of threatening the people of Selassie del Ethiopia for years. Their hostility has come from past events such as in 1978 the Israelites for the Peace and Prosperity of Ethiopia (IPPF) were thrown out of power by the Selassie family. Since then several attacks have been made on SdE, and a grand total of 234 have been killed, along with over 1,000 injured.

King Selassie II released a statement today saying: "I am very disappointed that the NIP has once again failed to find a legitimate way to speak to our government other than send out death threats via radio and television. Since my family removing them of their tight grip on the people in 1978 they have been taking the path of cowardice and disrespect. If another attack is conducted, or this most recent message comes true, I will be forced to act upon them and unleash the force that our great nation has!"

The NIP has yet to comment back on this response.

We will not ever change our religious policies in any way to discourage our people's views. And we do not wish to put the NIP down quite yet. A more peaceful approach is trying to be achieved. However your concern has been noted and we thank your Lord Wilhelm for that.

1. The marines would be in our command, and shall follow our orders without question
2. They shalln't be exempt from any war crimes that they may commit
3. No innocent civilian is murdered
4. No more than 5,000 soldiers, and no chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons will be brought into our nation, no matter the circumstances.

However, the Arab Republic cannot advocate violent reprisals at a time when a peaceful resolution may be possible. Therefore, the Egyptian government extends an offer to act as mediator in this dispute, and offers Cairo as neutral ground for discussion between the Ethiopian government and the Zionist rebel faction.

OOC: I disagree. In war, the moral high ground goes to the side that is correct or is closest to being correct in terms of philosphy. There is no moral high ground only if both sides are philosophically correct. However, I do agree that the moral high ground is unrelated to acts on the battlefield.

OOC: for real i agree with what Takaram said above. the Palestinians say that the israelis discriminate against them and massacre their civilians. the israelis say that palestinians attack their civilians and want to exterminate Israel. neither side is right or wrong, its just different sides each fighting for their own interest. same with us v. iraqi insurgency, hamas v. fatah, taliban v. pakistani government, Tutsi v. Hutu v. Congolese govt. in Congo, etc. sometimes one side commits far more attrocities and causes far more destruction than the other, which justifiably makes them the de facto bad guy (i.e. Serbs vs. Bosniaks, Croats, Albanians, etc. but in principle all the sides began with their own interests at heart. it just depends on the point of view. just to clarify i do not endorse attacks on civilians or wartime attrocities

However, I would point out that this is, in fact II, so perhaps any discussion of the moral ground of the IC actions in this thread are best moved to General.

Also, its not innocent Arab thing; Ethiopians are (as a whole) predominantly Christian.

We have recieved words of your callous and unacceptable threats against Ethiopia. This will not be taken lightly.

Should you continue to threaten the people of Ethiopia, particularly without a strong reason, action will follow.

Finally, on your tactics: The Federation would respectfully wish to tell the National Israelite Party to go fuck itself.

To the Governments of Ethiopia and Italia Orientale,

The Egyptian Government will welcome both of your delegations hopefully within the next few days. The conference will be held at the former headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. Considering the gravity of the situation, we will begin discussions the day following the arrival of all delegations.

Delegations will be received at Cairo International Airport, and will receive police escort to the Cairo Hotel. Security will be provided for the duration of the conference, and as such, we request that all delegations arrive without armaments or personal security assets.
