1.1 Summary of Empire
By 2251IE the empire of Nerontire had been around for over 2,000 years and had reached its peak. A mix of traditionalism and lack of innovation partially fuelled by a strong interest in occultism and spiritualism amongst the ruling classes helped make sure that the technological innovations of 30’s era technology and science had been haphazardly applied throughout society; and that whilst large scale factories had been in existence for some time the empire still struggled to meet the demands of construction required to provide modern products across the Dominions.
For the general populace the standard of living remains of a lower standard then 30’s average, though poverty is unevenly distributed throughout the Dominions.
The military also possesses several serious problems, though these would not become apparent to those within its own central command until they engaged a serious threat beyond local bandits and undeveloped states.
Cavalry still serves as part of the Nerontire army, most notably within the cavalry formations of Sarrowset. Tanks and artillery are not produced on a large scale and the manufacture quality of weaponry produced in Aiyer is of a dubious nature. Meanwhile for aeronautics, the bi-planes and monowing planes are still in competition.
