For several years now, Takaram has been operating several civilian nuclear power plants, but has not put any funding toward military uses of nuclear technology until today. Today, the Takaram Senate and High Council approved a plan to put several billion dollars toward, in the words of one Senator "adding another vital layer of defense that Takaram has been lacking."
